REVIEWS OF City Perks Coffeehouse IN Saskatchewan

Lord Joe Jackson

One of the best coffee shops in the city. They make espresso-based drinks and pour overs using third wave specialty coffee with retail beans from 49th Parallel, Anchor, Lüna, and Pilot Coffee. They also offer an extensive dessert menu, brunch and lunch food, and grab-n-go light eats. Their gluten-friendly menu is meager, but consistent. With warm aesthetics and a dedicated customer base, this bustling coffee shop is a must for any visitor.

A great coffee house!! I would recommend it to everyone! Our drinks were awesome and I'm particular about my coffee! We ordered off the brunch menu and again delicious! If you haven't been to City Perks Coffeehouse you need to go and become a regular because we really need this kind of coffee house! Thanks City Perks Coffeehouse!!

Trevor Oleniuk

Great little breakfast stop on our road trip. They had lots of gluten free options and some dairy milk replacements. They also had sandwiches and some hot plates that you could order. Cute patio for the sunny days.

I had a hot chocolate and my fiance had a London fog the other day. I have to say that the hot chocolate that I had was probably the worst I've ever had. They tried doing something special with mini eggs, but it was very weak, didn't taste like got chocolate at all. And the bottom was very gritty.

The pros: Delicious, high quality coffee. Very cute space. Nice staff. Neighbourhood institution! The cons: Unfortunately, when you preorder and specify a pickup time, they don’t actually make your drinks until you arrive. So it’s not really a preorder, eh? This has caused me to be late on two occasions and I will not preorder again. Less important but since I’m here…the iced chai is terrible—tiny amount of tea in a bag, very watery—I had to return it and the barista even admitted it’s not great iced, so I’d appreciate them not offering that as an option for me to waste $5 on. Overall, worth a visit especially when you can hang out there but just know these two caveats.

A most delightful and delicious experience! The chi torte is to die for! The spicy carrot soup with peanuts - simply awesome! The chicken salad sandwich ohhhh so yummy! Along with all that the maple chi latte tea balances it out to a Snoopy happy dance that lingers! Torte was shared plus a wee bit to take home. Definitely returning!!!

Has variety of desserts but also has breakfast and lunch menu, great coffee. All food is fresh. The place is very bright and cozy. The interior design is well executed modern style with vintage elements. The staff is very friendly and helpful. However in the busiest hours there might not be enough seats.

They have alright coffee, what they need to do is get fresher beans. The outside patio is amazing, nice quiet neighbourhood for it. Their selection is great. There's even a few alcoholic drinks if coffee and snacks aren't what's on your mind. This is my 3rd space because of the wonderful atmosphere.

Krisley

One of few truly specialty coffee shops in the city. It is exciting to see a blooming third wave coffee scene in Saskatoon, and City Perks is one of the best. Knowledgeable staff, varying, intelligent roaster selection, exceptional manual brews, quality espresso drinks, cozy seating, and some great food options, too!

Joel Siemens

A really nice neighborhood destination. Great coffee. Great deck. They observe the protocols, they make it work. Nice food selection, always interesting and good. Well worth the visit.

DK Kirodian

It's got a great patio in case you don't want to be crowded. Very beautiful for summer time. Great service. I just found it pricier than other coffeeshops but it was only coffee and not a big deal!

Chris Kolinski

Nice patio to sit and relax and enjoy a delicious coffee

Jordan Comfort

I’ve been to many cities and coffee shops in Canada - City Perks is THE BEST PLACE. High-end coffee at the great price, very knowledgeable staff, cozy and friendly atmosphere, fabulous location. I absolutely love this place and would only support local family business rather than a chain of coffee shops offering burnt coffee.

Joshua Peters

Probably the best Carrot Cake in Saskatoon. Love the service here.

Tristan Mariano

City Perk is a cute little coffeehouse which is always a busy place, so be ready to sit close to your neighbours. When it comes to their beverages and desserts they do an amazing job. However, when it comes to the savoury dishes, they miss the mark. The eggs are always over cooked and they don’t use enough salt.

Keira S

Located conveniently on 7th Avenue North City Perks is close enough to the downtown area to be a walking distance from most of the Central Business district and far enough to be not in a crowded area. I liked the organic vibe and warm culture although I think the seats are too closely placed to accommodate more customers. Overall a nice place to hang out with friends.

Before explaining why I gave only one star, I want to be clear that the food was actually quite good. Where City Perk went off the rails was in the service department. After ordering our coffee and brunch at the counter, we were offered the opportunity to tip. The options were 15, 20 and 25 percent. We just selected 15% since it was a quick meal and beverage, not a fine dining experience. Not being from Saskatoon, we didn’t know this cafe nor their protocols. As it turned out, we shouldn’t have tipped at all. Let me describe: 1) we ordered at a counter; 2) we had to go back to the counter to get some salt and pepper; 3) we had to return to the counter again for a coffee refill (which was full price!); 4) we were not asked if everything was okay; 5) we cleared and bussed our own table (we saw that’s what all the other patrons were doing so did the same). I always thought a tip is meant for rewarding good service. And I really hate that feeling of being pressured when paying with a credit card, being offered such high tipping options. Since when is 25% appropriate for counter service? It’s our own fault really. Next time, the tip will come after the meal, not before, and only if deserved.

This is my go-to place for coffee, baking, and lunch! 5 Star Service. 5 Star Food. 5 Star Coffee.

Vladimir Covaliov

We stopped in today for a quick coffee and lunch and as always were so pleased by the friendly service! The food is amazing, our lattes were so delicious and staff go above and beyond to make sure their patrons are taken care of. Thank you for everything City Perks!

Probably one of the best coffee places in Saskatoon much like the one on Warren Avenue never lasts great coffee good service nice atmosphere Good Vibes

Pamela Fisher

Everything is high quality and professional, I always crave their unique brunches

Joel Klassen

Costumer Service was lovely. Great atmosphere and area! Coffee 10/10

David Martin

Their menu looked great but it is limited to 11am-2pm. They do have some pre-made items in their pantry case such as soups and salads. Some of their desserts are on par with other coffee shops ($5 for a slice of cake), but other items are grossly overpriced (e.g., 1 normal sized slice of Irish cheesecake brownie was $10). Hot beverage prices were on par cost wise with other coffee shops in the city. The service was ok. The barista waited to serve me while she had a conversation with her coworker that could have waited. I was given the wrong size latte, but it was very delicious. The espresso is an excellent quality and the latte art was a nice touch. I will definitely return to give it another chance because the atmosphere is great, the bathrooms are clean, it's a great location, and the menu has a lot of potential.

Good hot drinks and light fare. Management should enforce a seating restriction towards university students who buy one coffee and camp out for hours. I have found myself buying a full lunch and drinks with friends and nowhere to sit due to multiple students occupying full tables to themselves.

Nathan Goertz

I love this place, good service and the best coffee!!!

Stephen Maryland

A cozy cafe. The iced lattes and breakfast sandwiches are personal favourites. My only complaint is that during the fall and winter there are not enough places to sit. However, the spacious patio makes up for this during the warmer months. Edit: Removing star due to lack of change tables in restrooms

Jordie Hoffman

It's a cute and trendy roadside café nestled in a quiet neighbourhood. Had a roast chicken sandwich (which was made with very fresh ingredients) but it sadly lacked flavour (pepper, salt, cayenne or red onions would have been a great addition!). The place was pretty well full (both inside and on the patio) and it's nice to see it's welcoming for dogs too! I loved their herb garden planted beside the patio - great touch.

Emilija Stanilevic

Love the atmosphere of the place. I often go to City Perks for breakfast and find it to be a good quite place to sit and relax. They always have a pleasant and helpful staff. Also their coffee and scones are amazing!

Erica Forsyth

A lovely neighbourhood coffee shop with great opening hours. Their desserts are to die for!! (And most of them are gluten-free.) They also offer fresh daily specials, such as salads, soups, and sandwiches.

Trevor Walker

I love this place! Been going for over 15 years and seen the place grow and change. Their menu is incredible and the staff members are friendly and make an effort to remember you. One small request though - would you consider baby changing stations in the restrooms?

Savannah Gleim

Tucked away in a residential area, what a gem. Coffee was great, and food was very varied. Will definitely return.

Molly Doucette

Enjoyable place with very good coffee. We had 2 cakes .....both with far too much icing and very little inside.

Matt Thompson

This place is Great! My favourite is the Green Godness Breakfast sandwich. It's the best breakfast sandwich in Saskatoon imo. I also really really love the cinnamon bun! It is not often that you can find a business better with time but I think City Perks nailed it. Keep up the great work!

Love love love this place. Had a delicious quiche and soup combo. It was just what I needed. This place has been a long time favourite of mine, and having not been in a few years, it definitely lived up to what I remembered.

Moj Noroozi

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in the city. Reasonable prices (the drip coffee could stand to be a bit cheaper or more coffee for the price), and fantastic breakfast food. It's a touch out of the way, but for a lazy weekend morning, it's the perfect quaint location.

Steve Ambrose

This was a great little place. Loved my cake....and the lavender earl grey tea was soooo yummy. Seriously...need me another cup. ????

S S.

Purchased one of your sandwiches (Tearoom Chicken with apple, mayo, cranberries, greens and pecans) at Lead Pilates and once again it was absolutely superb! It is great that you have an outlet like this that you supply your great product too. This is my 3rd different Sandwich and all have been great... Thanks... Keep up the great work...

Mercedes Jayne

Excellent coffee and many delightful foods and baked goods. Summertime on the patio in City Park neighborhood, great spot to meet friends, network, and enjoy the weather.

Dustin Cometa

Kinda pricey but overall a cute vibe. The baked goods are great but the place is pretty small and the chairs aren't that comfortable. There's a big patio out front that's great when the weather cooperates.

Leila Benmerrouche

It's was the best coffeehouse I have ever been to in my life.

First time here today. They have awesome orange shirt day cookies. Inside is so pretty and cozy to sit in. Their mocha is really good and the staff were so knowledgeable ????

G McD

Taking away 2 stars for the long waits.. How ever Coffee is unreal.. the breakfast sandwiches may appear small in size but try it anyways, it's worth it!

Winston Piohia

Amazing selection of treats and great coffee. Atmosphere is bright and bustling. Patio is on point when it is sunny. They often have gluten friendly treat options as well.

Greg Amy

A great place to enjoy fresh treats and beverages! Their cheesecakes are amazing and their coffee and tea is really well done. You may not find a spot to sit because it's so busy, but their food is good for taking on the go!

H L

I love this place. The atmosphere is very “small specialty coffee shop”! The staff are very friendly and offer suggestions if you are undecided. They seem very sincere and caring in how the prepare your order. The service is great. The food is delicious!!! Highly recommend the breakfast sausage English muffin thingys. Just a great place. Love it!

Andrew Epp

The coffee and food are incredible, the atmosphere is charming, charismatic and peaceful, the service is warm, prompt and friendly. A Saskatoon staple, I would argue bordering on iconic. If you are looking for a uniquely Saskatoon café, come here.

Sheila Bonnett

A great small coffee shop with great food option. Clean eating and natural food. Beautiful setup with a nice patio. Go here often, only problem is so many people come here, order a coffee or just get a water and sit for hours upon hours taking up the very limited table space. It is the reason we don't come here more often.

Logan Henderson

As a visitor, this is my favorite coffee place in Saskatoon and I have family members that echo that. Located in the core neighborhood of City Park, this is just a cozy, homey place with consistent quality in their coffee and food. It's always busy and the staff are on the ball. Best cup of coffee in Saskatoon, Edmonton loves you guys!

Glenn Chuback

Nice, quaint little place. Love everything about it. I gave it 5 stars because the service was fantastic, my London fog was delicious, my husband had the lemon cake and said it was perfect. Definitely return to try other menu items.

Trish Watier

It's always busy, but if you can snag a seat the coffee is great and the menu selection is wonderful. They are also one of the few places that will actually time and brew a tea up properly for you rather than giving you a cup and teabag. It's a bustling mainstay for a reason.

John-Michael & Melissa Stevens

Lovely coffee shop with decent seating, great coffee, food menu, and desserts.

Hannah

Nice place but really crowded and the prices are pretty high. Also really goofy that they have gendered bathrooms when they're both single room stalls. They don't serve the tea leaves with the tea, so if you want a refill you have to buy more tea, can't just get more water. Tea is also ridiculously exchange, especially compared to the coffee. Decent selection though. But the decor is cool and the staff are friendly.

S. Colpitts

I never knew that a hot chocolate existed that I didn't like. The hot chocolate here is disgusting. I don't know how it is made, but can barely swallow it and then really bad aftertaste. The chocolate peanut butter brownie was yummy. I doubt I'll be back, I like to have a good beverage with a baked good and I am scared to try anything else here. Also, it is quite pricey.

Sarah Elash

The matcha green tea was amazing. Service was excellent. Gf scone was delicious. Kind of gross that the dirty dishes were told to put next to the clean water glasses though . Makes sense why they have a 51/100 rating with tomati and the health department though..

Andy Yuen (Andy & Rachel)

Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food and EXTREMELY fantastic staff! Couldn’t be happier. Pay no mind to that whackadoodle anti-masker Marjaleena. City Perks is a hidden gem! Do give it a try and bring your mask.

Gis Salc

coffee was decent, but their food is ridiculously over priced. $15 for their "club sandwich" a ciabatta bun with 3 slices of meat. and. nothing. else. no side included, no lettuce or tomato or anything. had to ask for water so i could swallow it,it was so dry. super disapointing after seeing such good reviews.

Nora Jones

I like the vibe here, coffee and London fog were great, and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable

Keith Herbert

Really great coffee house! Warm and cozy atmosphere, cappuccino was well done, the oatmeal cookie I had was very good. Went there in the evening and the lights where well set and there was nice art on the wall. Will definitely go back.

Chelsea P

Wasn't a fan. Simple things like what all is on an item would be great, I was expecting a roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo and they put a bunch of lemon zest on it and it simply ruined the sandwich for me. Not the mention the bread was incredibly thick and dry. Was my first time being there and probably last. Just wasn't for me. Was trying to hard to cater to these vegan/hipsters I think.

WHITLEY Gibson

A great time as always. The food and/or dessert is a bit pricey, but it's kind of a boutique place so that's to be expected. I also like the space and decor. Good service too.

Brian Yaehne

Came for a cup coffee, it was a bit cold to my liking. Rule #1 when a customer said "thank you", a person behind the counter should say "you're welcome". I gave him a chance to be courteous but failed the second time around. Their credit card payment had a $1 $2 $5 tip, it's kind of awkward not giving a guy a tip (which I did) even though service should be presented anyway.

michelle's flowers

They always have tasty desserts and great coffee

Josh W

There are a lot of excellent cafes in Saskatoon, but city perk is my favourite. Their Baker is amazing - I've never had anything I didn't love from their baked goods. Service is excellent, and the location is just lovely.

Kimberly Knapik

Nice cozy location, coffee from some of Canada's best third wave roasters. However, they never seem to have things dialed in properly and the coffee is usually disappointing given the quality of the roasters. They could learn a lot from some of the other shops in town.

filiz

Amazing coffee and treats. The cinnamon buns are to die for. Atmosphere is nice. It would be great for a quick bite, studying, or just somewhere to meet up. The staff are friendly and helpful. Also pretty accessible for wheelchairs or walkers

Love this little coffee shop. It's super cozy. Good service. Great coffee!

Sandi Walls

Absolutely GORGEOUS little coffee house; came for a quick sit-down coffee, stayed for the food and drink and atmosphere. I had the lavender + honey latte (on special), and did not regret it at all; coffee was hot with beautiful latte art on top, and the butter tart square I had to pair was excellent as well. Service was fantastic, the dining area was clean and cozy, and overall I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

Nathan A

Always buzzing and filled with good coffee. This is one of my primary spots for having 1 on 1 business meetings. It's a good excuse to expense my coffee, and to drink a nice americano. The environment is definitely old. However, that adds to the charm of a classic coffee shop. They keep their space clean and in order. Will be going here more in the future!

Mahdi Kowsari

I have been here several times and each time it just seems like a gong show. Most recently, I was here and ordered breakfast sandwiches and two coffees to go. I got my coffee right away. The breakfast sandwiches took so long my coffees were actually warm- cresting on cold by the time I got to my destination. Happy to wait but seemed out of order. Additionally I ordered a blueberry scone, which seemed to be one of the only options for baked goods- it tasted very bland and undercooked. I want to like it here but either I’ve come here at all the wrong times or it’s just a gong show.

A H

A nice little coffee shop. Cappucchinos looked good. The drip coffee I had was super tasty. Definately worth checking out.

Nicole Hancock

1. great coffee 2. good pandemic protocols 3. one barista has a garlic tattoo 4. it’s kind of expensive but they have a nice patio 5. is it city perks or city perk?
