Excellent food, excellent coffee. A hidden gem in downtown St. Catharines. I highly recommend their pastries, pizza, etc. as it is all quite excellent. If you're heading downtown for a hockey game, show, or movie, make the effort to stop at this gem. It really is worth your time, and it's great to support local businesses.

The food is amazing, surprisingly affordable for what you get. Service is fast and friendly. The logistics are a bit awkward with ordering at the counter and then having food whisked to your table, but it's well worth the bit of milling about at the front. A great find!!

This was our first time at Caffè Gatti. We had the spicy prosciutto eggplant sandwich, the chicken parm sandwich and two large pieces of their flatbreads, including one with pear and gorgonzola. As well, we chose an assortment of their pastries, including ricotta-filled chocolate cannoli. Everything was fresh and delicious and the service was quick and friendly. We will absolutely be returning, maybe for breakfast next time.

Very unorganized. I was hired for a position about a month ago I have worked 10 hours since . I have called to see what's goin on but the owner finds an excuse. Today I called demanding my pay check so I could quit and I was reassured I was still on payroll and to be contacted. They seem to be selfish people as far as I can tell.

Typically, a chicken parm, or veal parm, is a staple go-to dinner for me. Naturally, its one of my favourite sandwiches as well. The Veal Parm Sandwich from Cafe Gatti was out of this world! Fresh flavours of pesto and tomato on fresh ciabatta just hits differently. By far one of the best Veal Parm's I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend it ! The coffee is also very delicious. Definitely my new spot for a, "Damn good coffee." The service was fast and the staff are also very friendly! Bon Appetit!!

It all started with "I could really go for some dessert!" The atmosphere in this little cafe is elegant and modern, my other and I enjoyed a relaxing time talking over the light music, and enjoying a new area of town we'd never been. We'll definitely be returning :)

Very nice, traditional and yummy! I stopped in Cafe Gatti for a quick lunch break and I was very happy. The place is clean, styled nicely and the food is scrumptious! I had a slice of mushroom pizza, with a hot chocolate that was served in a beautiful presentation and topped with whipped cream. The hot chocolate was cozy, warm and melty- everything a cup of cocoa should be. The pizza was delicious! The crust was my favourite part. It's crispy, light and has a perfect amount of topping on it, each bite was enjoyed. The prices are reasonable, a bit expensive but overall not too bad for the quality of the food. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because I did find the seating / table set up a bit awkward. I was sitting at a table, and because the chairs are so close, I couldn't pull my chair out without addressing the lady behind me at her table, otherwise I would have hit her! Very nice place for a treat, I look forward to trying their desserts!!

Can't make a macchiato properly, I called them out about their machine dripping water into my coffee...at least they started a second one right away. Too much milk foam, in an oversized cup. Stale and flavourless sfogliatelle was unforgivable.

The good, the bad, and the "mug" - ly. The cafe is popular partially because of its convenient location and because the quality of its pastries and savories is generally very good. However, there are fluctuations that diminish the consistency of expectation so that in reality sometimes 4 stars wild be accurate, sometimes only three, and, yes one in a while 5. The coffee however is always of good quality. The cakes are generally very good.

The food here was absolutely fantastic. Being slightly on the outside of downtown it wasn't always my first choice for lunch. We were in and out of there extremely quickly and the quality was incredible! Definitely a great place to grab lunch!

Cute café close to the Performing Arts Centre. Only a few tables, but take out is available. Delicious pizza and panini, wonderful sweet treats too. Not open in the evenings. There is a step up to the door and no door opener.

Negative experience here. Tried to make me wait 20 min for pizza when pizza was in the front display. Told i wanted the more affordable pastries and the cashier tried to sell me the most expensive ones first, almost was going to buy nothing. No labels on display case for pastries. Told by the female baker that they were discontinuing a whole display of pastries, the affordable ones because they are too labour intensive. It was more expensive than the market, the menu was difficult to read, the service was horrible. I would rather learn pastry baking than bother to go there again.

I had ordered a chocolate roll cake two days prior on a Wednesday to be picked up Friday afternoon. When I went in to pick up the cake the waitress presented a square cake with "hazelnut icing". I gave my name again and explained to her that I had order a chocolate roll cake. She stated that this was my order. I then asked to speak to the owner. The women I spoke to seemed very angry and annoyed and stated that this was all she had - take it or leave it. I felt compelled to take it as I needed it for the next day. I asked her if it was chocolate inside and she stated yes. I took the cake. It cost $35.00 plus tax. When I served the cake I was shocked. First of all it was not chocolate. It was vanilla. Secondly it was stale and tasteless, like shortening. I warmed up each piece and served with ice cream and a caramel drizzle to moisten. Most guests left a portion of the cake on their plate. NO one commented on it. I threw the rest away. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointing.

This is an awesome little cafe, but do they open at 8am? Sometimes, maybe, don't really know! For a cafe that is so close to some of the businesses, I am shocked they don't open at the very least at 830am... think about all the business you may be missing out on!
