Great breakfast and lunch spot. Highly recommended.
Such amazing eats! Real "food for the soul"
Some of the best food in the city. Local producers, well prepared menu. It’s a must do!
Meal type
Good atmosphere, nice staff and great for breakfast or brunch.
Shredded hash browns were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The ham was thick and juicy and the croissant and hollandaise were rich and buttery. Coffee was strong and smooth. The vegetarian option also looked awesome. Onion rings are huge and crunchy.
I'm updating this location to a 5. I know before it was a 4, but this last visit was very good. Their Mac and cheese is one of the better ones in the city. The crunchy pretzel topping added a nice texture. I've noticed a few places doing this, but this is one of the better versions. The grilled cheese was a bit odd. I believe a grilled cheese should mainly highlight the cheese but did not get that impression from this one. It's very busy with the other items in it (proscuitto, mushrooms and tomatoes). It was a great sandwich, just not a great grilled cheese. Fries were good here too. Service was good.
2021 update this restaurant asks for proof of mask exemption which is illegal. They wouldn't serve us for the 5 seconds it would take me to walk to the table. I don't have problems at other establishments. I will give my money to businesses that treat all of their customers with dignity and respect regardless of disability. We've been coming to this restaurant since they took over for the Polonez Restaurant. After an over $400,000 renovation, this space has been developed into a trendy spot that serves comfort classics with modern flair. The bison chili is hardy and flavourful. Their limited edition "tickle my pickle" burger was delicious and included home made dill pickle chips that were superior to any mass produced snack food. We do mostly come for breakfast though. I can never steer too far away from the Apple Whiskey Pancake Stack. I don't usually like pancakes (I prefer crepes). But these are fluffy with 4 bacon strips nestled in between, apple slices on top and loads of that sweet whiskey sauce and dollops of whipped cream....so good. The coffee is also quite delicious. We grind our beans at home, so I am picky about coffee.. So far our only gripe is with the omelets. I have heard from a few of my friends that those are bland for some reason.
This eatery definitely passed the vibe check! Adorable eatery with rustic yet charming decor. The fries were A+
Their take out is awesome... I still miss their dinner menu... we used to do an easy night out once a month or so... miss it.. maybe after tcovid they'll bring it back (fingers crossed(
We both had the 2 egg breakfasts, one poached, the other sunnyside up, done just right. Good size portions. Friendly servers.
Everything we ordered were delicious but brisket hash was wayy overcooked and burned.
We have tried this restaurant numerous times and have always enjoyed our meals. The Cuban sandwich is excellent, and I cannot recall anything that we did not enjoy. On our latest foray we went for breakfast. The pancakes were enjoyed and had a great texture. The Eggs Benedict was delicious and the croissant base was an interesting touch even though the eggs were overdone. Also has a nice casual atmosphere to catch up with friends.
What a great transition job this group has been able to pull off. The pandemic gave some little choice but to adapt and job well done at the Marion Hotel. Obviously Marion Street Eatery is going to continue to flourish as we move past this pandemic. Do not hesitate to make MSE your restaurant of choice during these most unique times.
Amazing food, as always. High recommend the grill cheese with short rib. Great, relaxing vibe.
This was a pleasant surprise! Why didn't I know about this! Delicious!
Multiple choices of tasty food and drinks. Beautiful interior and exterior. Home feeling service too.
Great place to go for lunch. Very big serving sizes
This amazing restaurant is a must try. Extremely chill and efficient staff. All 7 of us loved our food and the portions are generous. And even better - their coffee is great! I will be back!
Delicious Beer Cheddar Soup. Partner enjoyed the burger. Bison Chili had good texture/hint of spice. Would of been favorable to be served the soup prior to the Chili instead of both dishes served at the same time. Ordered the carrot cake for take home. Presentation of cake very nice but not a fan of the cake texture. Very pleasant Decor. I Found it Chilly in the restaurant. This place does not take reservations. Hostess let's u know on wait time...
Make reservations ahead of time. Food is good, place is nice and quaint, not what I expected next to the hotel. Would like to go back and try other options, we had the chicken pot pie, a curry burger- this is very tasty. The poutine lacked in cheese with plenty of gravy.
Great place, yummy brunch. Only thing they charge for any change as an upcharge, when it's really not necessary. Friendly staff.
They've changed the menu and the way they do the Mac and cheese..... very disappointing. Service was OK. Will likely not return, which is sad because this was one of our favorite spots.
The Service was great. The waitress was helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was hit and miss. The Brisket Hash. The Hashbrowns were hard and over fried, they may have been deep fried or cooked in a lot of oil for far too long. The Brisket was hard on the sides were it was reheated, it may have been really good when it was originally made but not anymore. The Eggs Benny were good and so was the Boho, a chickpea omelet. The place has a unique ambience and is part or attached to a hotel and a male strip club.
As others have said in this reviews Marion Street Eatery offers fine dining fair at regular prices. A lot of attention to detail went into our meals and everything was absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly, cheerful, and attentive. The coffee here was excellent as well. Great job guys!!
Wonderful place, great atmosphere and superb decor. Food is delicious, creative and reasonable price. Love coming here with my family. Lots of parking, great community restaurant.
Winnipeg needs more places like this. So incredibly charming and comfortable but not trying too hard. A high quality local diner with outstanding breakfast. I’m still thinking about the ham and sausage. In an unlikely location no less. I will come here every time I visit the city.
Excellent and interesting food! Also very friendly service! First photo is the Mac and Cheese and the second photo is "The Boho".
Awesome food! All the dishes we tasted were delicious!!! (Mashed Potato bowl (daily special), BLT, Vegan Sandwich, and the Turkey Melt) Would definitely order them again. The food took awhile to come to the table, but otherwise the service was terrific. On the downside, it took us 15 minutes to find a parking space. Then we had to wait 30+ minutes for a table. The place was incredibly busy and fairly noisy. The food and service more than made up for the parking and waiting issues. We will be back.
Really nice lunch experience, food and staff was great, prices reasonable for the quality. Really good coffee. A bit of a wait to get a table as they were busy, but we had coffee at the bar while waiting. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Glad I finally came here to try them out.
Amazing place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Always busy on weekends at peak lunch times. We had the savory waffle and the breakfast wrap. Flavors are perfect. Coffee is strong and delicious. I have also had their Reuben and salad and meatloaf. Mouth watering. You will not have a bad meal here.
Service
The food was as delicious as it looks. The parfait was amazing! Service was friendly and everything came out fast.
Perogies filled with sweet potato and potato wedges side. Goats cheese and beets were a tasty addition.
Went in for breakfast and I was really hungry, I ordered the Lumberjack breakfast with three eggs, 2 pc's bacon, maple sausage, baked ham, roasted hash browns, and THREE big pieces of toast. This was a treat to finally get my order fast, hot and exactly the way I like my eggs. I'm coming back and bringing lots of friends with me. A jug of ice cold water and a robust coffee to boot. What more can you ask for.
If your looking to fill your belly up for the day ahead, I like to start with a hot hearty breakfast served with a smile from the cute waitresses at the Marion Street Eatery, located in the Marion Hotel just East of DesMeuron.
One of my favorite places in the city. Fantastic food. I've not tried anything here that I didn't like. The service is usually great and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, with a very open space and a lot of natural light. A definite recommendation.
Food was a little too greasy for my liking. Friendly staff!
Great breakfast place, toast was a bit burnt though. Servers were great, they keep checking if you need more coffee. Reasonable price. Go on sundays for their breakfast special.
Had the Mexican breakfast, holy moly! It didn't look like a whole lot but my husband and I were both stuffed! Great Caesars, friendly service and decent prices!
Marion Street Eatery is an okay restaurant. The ambiance reminds me of rural Manitoba, and sort of reminded me of Prairie Firehouse in Brandon. I had to try the “Reuben” (which wasn’t a Reuben I think). First off, I was disappointed by the absolutely ridiculous amount of fries-to-sandwich ratio. I paid $15.95 for this plate of fries. On the first bite, the first thing I was introduced with was the amount of sauerkraut this Reuben had. Seriously, I had a waitress ask me how the food was while I was going in on the sauerkraut still. Each bite was full sauerkraut and a little bit of something else. It’s like they were trying to get rid of extra sauerkraut or something. As for flavour, it was great. I’m not too fond of the multigrain ciabatta, as it was too small to be a Reuben. The water cups are painfully small. I believe I was refilled 2 times. I personally do not sip water if I’m trying to swallow multigrain ciabatta. Marion Street Eatery is not a bad place, it’s okay.
Best breakfast place in Winnipeg! So coming back!
Awesome food, service and interior feel but from the outside, its rather deceiving. Its a gem hidden in this hotel/ mini casino place. There are a lot of good choices for food and even with something as simple as pancakes, it was done perfectly, not too batter filled, fluffy and good sauce on top. It had a good mix of your sweet and salty. Pricing is reflctive of the quality you get. A good amount of seating though can get packed fast and a good seperate parking lot. Recommended go for a surprisingly simple menu but at good quality/taste.
Great atmosphere, always fantastic good, and the most kind staff! One of our favorite breakfast places in the city.
Great place for brunch!! Relaxing atmosphere at the bar or table with a great cup of coffee! Their Ruben is pretty damn tasty with beer caramelized onions.
The food and service was really good, but the desserts were just okay. Regardless, it's an awesome joint; will definitely go back! They don't take resos, so prepare for a wait near peak times. Taste: 4/5, Portions: 5/5, Parking: 5/5, Value: 5/5, Other positive factors: location, layout, hours of operation, accessibility, friendly staff, atmosphere.
Great ambience. Fantastic service. Food was tasty. What moe can you want!
I had the beef patty melt special of the week. Too bad they don't add it to the menu as it was awesome! Staff are amazing and efficient. First time going here and we will be back for sure! Thanks guys. Tried the chicken burger. Was awesome.
Excellent place, for a casual meal! Great food choices, great staff and excellent food! Definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant!
Service
My family and I were so blown away by our takeout meal tonight. My sons (11 and 14) bit into their eatery burger and immediately said “yo! Hands down best burger ever !”. My wife had the vege burger and loved it. When picking up our order, the staff were so friendly. Wishing you all continued success!
Winnipeg's best kept secret. Fine Dining with reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Awesome service. Lots of menu variety. The food? Doesn't matter what you choose, it's all prepared and presented with A+ Class. Takes no second place to any fine dining in the city.
Good food and service, and portions... Just getting a little bit pricey but they're not the only place..

One of the best pancakes in town! Also the pricepoint makes this breakfast and brunch place is totally worth it.
Always a good experience! The service and the food is fantastic. They go out of their way to support local suppliers, which is nice. Only complaint is that they didn't warn us that the patio had SO MANY wasps. We had 8-12 wasps all over our food the whole time we were there. The wasp certainly areny the restaurant's fault, but it's something they should mention prior to seating people on the patio.. My partner is literally deathly allergic to wasp stings, as are many other people.
Breakfast
Went there on Friday, just as restrictions were scheduled to open up the next day. We ate on the patio. We were told it could be up to a 40 minute wait and they put us on a list to call when a table was ready. Our Server was great, apologetic for not having the craft beer my husband wanted already chilled, and offered up a pitcher with ice to cool it in. They were able to accommodate my vegan and gluten-free requests and I had a delicious lunch that was much more than just fries or a salad. I recommend The Boho! We felt safe and were well taken care of.
Food is great with excellent service! The portions are good to fill you up. The atmosphere of the place is chill and wide. Would recommend going there for breakfast as well! I heard they have great coffee, but I'm yet to try that next time. The picture shown is chicken pot pie . Excellent crispy crust ????
Called here at 7:00am on a Thursday morning, and asked if I can order breakfast for pickup at 08:00am. The person said that they don’t do “pre-orders” and that I’ll have to call back and order 15 mins beforehand, and they’ll make it depending if they have time because they’re focusing on their dine-in customers which is fair. Then I told them I plan to order 2 orders of the bannock breakfast and one order of the mini pancakes, and she informed me that I can’t order any of these breakfasts as takeout. I’m glad to see they’re doing so well they can turn away paying customers. I guess I’ll give my money to places like Clementines or Juneberry.
Delicious breakfast but the restaurant was super busy on sunday. A group of 6 people and we had to wait an hour which isn't terrible but good to know for anyone wanting to visit in the future. Very friendly service
Always an amazing experience with a nice atmosphere, great staff and incredible food! One of the best brunch spots in Winnipeg.
Went here for the first time tonight and the food was fantastic! The location is a bit divey but the restaurant is lovely. Reasonably priced food and the creme brulee was perfect for sharing

Lunch
So right now the menu is shorten. I've eaten here before and what I wanted was not on the shorten menu. That said, the breakfast I got was still amazing.
Great spot for lunch. Food to satisfy carnivores and vegans. Tasty options and very generous portions. Friendly staff. Excellent for casual Sunday brunch with a large group but would recommend calling ahead. No delivery service available so dine in only. The brisket hash is large enough to share especially with an extra poached egg (comes with one). The salad is sizable enough that a half order should be enough as a full meal. The Bohemian Wrapsody is tasty with a hint of heat from the sriracha sauce. Great choice as a flavorful vegan lunch option.
Great breakfast spot! An elevated but simple meal made from scratch. For breakfast we had caramel apple whiskey pancakes and The South American poached eggs simmered in fire roasted tomatoes and yellow pepper sauce with chorizo sausage, avocado, and crispy rosemary hashbrowns. House made jams and peanut butter to boot!
The beet salad was delicious added the chicken which was well seasoned. Half portion was more than enough. Would highly recommend for lunch.
The beet salad is one of, if not the best, salad I've ever had. Our group of five had lunch there yesterday, and we were all impressed with the food...beet salad, cauliflower soup, rueban sandwich, spicy pita, burger...to top it off, the Caesars were soon good! Also, very nice staff!
Excellent price and equally excellent food. The Eggs Benny is fantastic. We went for breakfast and would return
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere, bit pricey but worth it
Via Marion Street Eatery's website, we ordered 50$ worth of food at 10;30 a.m. for pickup at 12:30 only to be told at their pickup counter that they don't have our order because they are too busy and don't check online orders!! (but they accept them?) We drove from Ft. Garry to support a business and this is what we got.
I went there for their breakfast. It's an average breakfast place like any other. Nothing fancy. It's a bit too pricy for what you get. Save your money. Go out somewhere else for less or just eat at home.
Not sure what your secret ingredient is recently in the Kitchen but the food here is AMAZING. I highly recommend trying the new cheesecakes they’ve been putting out. This is my new go to spot!!!
Very clean and cozy. Went for breakfast. Had unique and also familiar breakfast choices. Loved their take on hash browns, high quality breakfast meats. Friendly service. All for reasonable price. Cant ask for much more than that.
Service
We came here for Sunday brunch around 1030am. It was packed and there were few groups of people waiting thier tables. We ended up sitting a pub tables since it was available and we were so hungry.. The food was great! Staffs are extreamly friendly and attentive. The interior is nice and modern. I highly recognised this place for breakfast or brunch.
Stopped in for burgers for dinner, the bf said his ‘Eatery’ burger was fantastic, one of the best burgers he’s ever had! I got the veggie burger, and unfortunately the patty was very very overdone. Dry and burnt. This was disappointing because the patty would have been good otherwise (not at all meat-like, but good) and everything else on the burger tasted great, and very fresh. So, I’ll assume this was a one-off and hopefully next time goes better! Great experience otherwise, love the hand-written touches and details of local restaurants.
Good parking. Can get quite noisy when busy. Service is usually quite good although I find the food to be hit and miss. This last time was a miss. Two of us had the special of the day. The sandwich came missing cheese and bacon, didn’t realize this until halfway through the meal. The server brought the two ingredients, however there was no offer to remake the dish, and we paid full price. Would have appreciated some kind of rectification for their mistake.
Love the atmosphere and the brunch was good, but I found their ham salty.
Always great food and service. Go back whenever I can!!!
Located in the Marion Street hotel, don't be fooled by the hotel this restaurant is a shining gem located inside! You may have to wait a bit the restaurant is very busy but worth the wait. Food is reasonably priced, portions are generous and the quality is always top notch. Over the years I've eaten here 20+times tried a variety of items from the menu. Never had anything but good things to say about my meals. Servers are very attentive, water and coffee topped up before you even have to ask.

So cool but sometimes the food not consistent. I like places that make the same dish with similar training. Too much change in dishes. At times the dishes are perfect and other times just OK. My daughter loves their Mac and cheese.
We had a great experience there today. They implemented the appropriate covid protocols and all staff were very friendly. All our drinks and meals were also fantastic and very tasty. Will highly recommend.
Excellent customer service and grrrreat food. Also great coffee which few places serve. Wud love to go there daily,!!????
Take out and delivery only right now. But super pleasant staff and great service. And the food is wonderful with good size portions.
Great and unique foodie foods, served in a warm yet kind of funky environment. Big portions and high quality ingredients. Best burger week burger by far.
