If I could give less than 1 star I would. Brutal experience, service was good but we were told after two hours that we would need to move as a large party was coming in. They started setting up the room around us. We were offered a table in the lounge which we accepted, then instead of being sat at a table we were sat at the service bar top near the kitchen. Kitchen staff came out to dip their glasses Into the ice well without using an ice scoop not only unsanitary but also dangerous because of possible glass chips and breakage in ice. When we brought our concerns up to what appeared to be the manager that we were not enjoying our experience - We were told it was common knowledge that the restaurant did two hour seatings, even though we were not informed about this when we first made a reservation. I agreed that this would be common knowledge if this information was shared with us when we first made the reservation. Or when they asked to move my reservation to an earlier time slot to accommodate THEM better they could have had a chance to tell me then. The manager then said that’s the way it is. I was very surprised at the lack of concern by the management about our experience he asked what I wanted him to do about it and said sorry in a sarcastic way. We are passed 2 x 10% off coupons after our dinner. Food was bland. As guests we were made to feel as though we were inconveniencing the restaurant. Definitely do not recommend!

My friends and I decided to come here for my birthday dinner because it seemed like a great spot with a cool experience! Overall disappointing experience. Worst service ever experienced. Group of 6 and kept asking questions and server was cranky and annoyed. The food was cold, especially the eggs. They said unlimited but when asked for more food they said the kitchen is closed and server said that the cooks are upset. All of us left hungry and overpriced, Very disappointing

My daughter took me there for Mother's day. I must start with saying that the food was absolutely delicious. But it took 15 for them to greet us. Constantly servers walk pass us. First when you walk into the restaurant it's so dirty. Floor, baseboards candle holders etc. I used to work in a restaurant/food where this would never pass health inspection. My first sip of water I got a long hair in it. Witch the server saw. Then when I got my memosa he realized that there was something in it that shouldn't be . He made me a fresh one, but left the other one sitting by the bar. Another server comes and grabs it for another Mom???? Bar fridge was left open for about 1/2 hour. Some wine was poured and covered with saranwrap. I could say more from our experience but I'm choking not too. Don't think we will ever go back

Had to edit my previous review. I went quite a few months ago for brunch, and had an awful experience; the service was horrendous, and the food was sub par. This review however maintains two stars with how Shea treated us, and really did make a point of making things better upon us leaving. We went back for brunch today, and it was not much better. The first course, though very large this time around, came out less than warm, and seemed as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. The course consisted of eggs benedict on a croissant with hard yolks, and gummy whites, a mound of pretty good hash browns, squash, curried chickpeas, 2 slices, of bacon and one sausage. The portions did not make much sense for two people. After about 25 minutes the server finally returned asking if we were wanting seconds; we just requested the next course which we assumed would have already been brought out. She was back within 30 seconds, with soggy undercooked waffles, and bread pudding. After two experiences like this, we will not be returning.

As a vegan I was super happy to find a cute, romantic, “special occasion” spot that gives you a ton of food - all delicious, plus unlimited seconds (although by the time we got through all three courses we were stuffed!) They also came out with a dessert after we’d finished our meal - which is a rarity for most places to have a vegan dessert option so that was just the cherry on top. Highly recommend for any folks with dietary restrictions looking for a fancy place to eat!

One of my favorite Sunday brunch spots. I also really enjoy their dinners that are served family style. All you can eat for a fixed price! The patio is beautiful in the summer. Definitely try the pizza. Their mushroom with balsamic is excellent. I'm not a huge fan of pork, but they cook theirs so nicely that I think it might be my favorite there. Just went today and tried the new format. Their dinner prix fix now has appetizers included.

Chaise Cafe used to have elaborate and delicious brunches, but I visited during the September long weekend and found that the quality of their food has definitely declined from what it used to be. Additionally, they did not follow the provincial health orders and did not ask any of us at my table (and likely not others at other tables) for our proof of vaccination. I will not be going back to Chaise after this experience, both because of the quality of their food, as well as their disregard of public health orders. After some research, I also realized that the same owner of Chaise on Provencher and Corydon has been fined for not following the rules at least a couple of times. If I had known this ahead of time, I wouldn't have supported their businesses. Update: In response to the reply I received, it's not about political views but about following rules that are in place to protect others. I visited other local restaurants this weekend and was never asked to provide any sort of chromosomal test, but I appreciate you confirming that I will never return to your establishments. I hope there's enough people out there who support your...political views...to continue to stay in business.

We rented out the private dining room upstairs for a bachelorette party. Everything from accommodating a paint night party, to table arrangements to the spectacular food was over and beyond what we could have hoped for. It was a great evening and a memorable celebration. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chaisé for private functions or just an amazing dining experience!

Such a shame.. We went on Saturday Nov. 27. for brunch@12. The food, was great, amazing actually. The restaurant is very cozy and cute. We were sitting at a nice corner table next to the bar area. Unfortunately our waitress… I don’t know if something was going on with her personally, but she came across so rude and upset. Every ask seemed like a chore, every question answered with a snippy remark; regardless of asking kindly, calmly or politely. I’ve honestly never felt as if I was inconveniencing someone so much with anything in a restaurant until today, all 3 of us felt so awkward. I’m not looking for anything free or hand outs, but do feel as if management should have a conversation with her about hospitality and how she comes across. What should have been a high point conversation about the food, turned into to a regretful memory about the service.

This is a great place, but a bit odd. A converted house, the seating isn't enormous but I've seen some pretty large groups all sitting around a table in one of the rooms. They do up their own menu every day, depending on what they can get I guess. You pay a flat rate per person and the bring you a medium small serving of today's (savoury) entree, usually a tapas like arrangement. The thing is, second or third or whatever helpings are included, so if you like something you can just ask for more of it. When you are done they repeat with a dessert (sweet) platter. Coffee is good and comes in nice big mugs, there is a wide assortment of teas, tissanes and infusions as well as a wine list. They offer a membership which gets you discounted prices, but since one of my offspring has a membership I just wait till we can go together. The #10 bus stops almost in front of the place so it's easy to get to without a car, if you are driving then you have to find street parking I've been there 2 or 3 times and always enjoyed it, supper and lunch are great. Real nice as a change or even as a steady I highly recommend it.

I don't know how you label positions in your place, so I'll make it easier for you and generalize them as 'employees'. So, substitute every position definition above with an 'employee', if it's easier for you, the rest is exactly what it was. Too bad that instead of trying to fix your problems, you try to say that someone else was wrong. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We were waiting for quarter an hour for the hostesses doing us a favour and letting us in, but was being completely ignored by her, although asked for a few times what's going on. Won't come back for sure.

Great desert and awesome service. They had an issue with debit and e-transfer was offered as an option. Unfortunately that did not work either due to the debit issue but I was able to pay in cash. Very great and understanding service and management. Recommend them 100%. Very nice place and great look inside the restaurant.

Ugh, so disappointed! We were excited to try this spot for brunch. It was awful. The service and coffee were outstanding, but couldn’t make up for the candle wax all over the table, the freezing dining space and the terrible food. Our savoury course was not good, frittatas tasted like they had been microwaved from the day before. Actually most of the food tasted very left over. We barely touched any of it. The only food that didn’t taste recycled was the undercooked breakfast sausage. The sweet course was yummy, but $20 for brunch is pricy if you only enjoy a Nutella tart and mini mango waffle. I wanted to like it here. They took a few bucks off of our “unlimited brunch”, since we sent the whole first plate back, and gave us coupons for the next visit; which won’t be used, not worth a second chance!

Absolutely awful. Service was very slow, almost an hour and a half wait between meals. All the food was deep fried, nothing fresh in sight. Waitress was not welcoming in the least, not even a smile, barely refilled drinks and even complained when we wanted more of a certain food. In the end wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Went on Fri for Mom and daughter birthday. Had the family dinner with apps salad pizza pasta. We also ordered pork steak and salmon plates. The food and ambience and our waitress and service was impeccable. My nieces got 2 comp. Chocolate desserts that we all shared. We had a memorable eve. We will definitely come back. Street parking and bus route. Quite a huge old house with several rooms and great screened in patio. Very reasonably priced and plenty of food

What stood up for me was the fig, prosciutto pizza. The salmon was a smaller portion than I expected. The espresso was very good but the double shot was just a single shot. The Italian inspired poutine was good too. The Cesare salad dressing was made to perfection.

I found the food quite bland and the service was just okay. Perhaps the worst fettuccine alfredo I've ever had the pleasure of eating, I've had better at Domino's. Pasta itself was poorly cooked and there was not a lot of taste to it. Grilled Caesar salad was straight out of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares - not good, and why would you grill romaine lettuce (this is more personal preference). I found it interesting that the response to "this is our first time at this restaurant" was "well what made you choose here". Some of the starters and appetizers were better, but nothing I would want to try again. Pizza crust was probably the best thing overall. Patio was not bad. Also it's a relatively affordable restaurant ($25/pp) so I'll give it a two stars. There are so many restaurants that do pasta and pizza better in the city - Harth, Cafe Carlo, Infernos, etc. Hell, even Santa Lucia is better. Also I will nitpick by saying that my sister told the server that it was my birthday, and he sorta seemed taken aback? Then after he walked away, we realized that he didn't even wish me a happy birthday.

We had a bridal shower here. Loved it. They have a private room on the second floor. Its very comfortable and feels like throwing a posh but relaxed party in a well furnished apartment. The food and service were excellent. This place is a Winnipeg gem!!!

Chaise Cafe has a beautiful screened-in patio for use during the warmer months. Lovely for a small group to hang out with a small group of friends for food and drink. Lots of planted flowers and greenery to check out. The food is alright. The menu is pretty stable except for some pastas that change, so not a ton of diversity of options, especially with the fixed price approach. When you order as a group everyone food comes on the same plate for sharing which some people are into and some aren't. But definitely a great hang out spot.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner here, we tried the prix fixe which was so delicious! A great way to try the whole menu. The white sangria was delicious! The best part of the experience was our waiter, Martin. He was so welcoming and explained the menu to us, he checked in enough but didn’t hover. Such a great place!

First time with friends and we enjoyed the delicious poutine with alfredo and blue cheese sauce - best I have ever had which was part of the appetizers. Go for the dinner for 25.00 because you get to have everything on the menu. I plan to try the breakfast ???? because I am sure it is amazing.

This is a must dine restaurant in Winnipeg. Situated in an old mansion, it has intimate dinning rooms. The menu is more of an open ended affair. There's the option to pay a fixed price per person and the chef will just keep preparing tapas after tapas of whatever wonderful fresh dishes he has brewed up that day until you are full. I've never been disappointed with a meal here, although some days the wait staff can get overwhelmed if it's busy. Best to call ahead so they know how many guests to expect for staffing levels.

We tried this restaurant on a recommendation from our daughter for our anniversary! We wanted something different other than the standard steak potato and veggies. We were not disappointed in the least. Service was great and very attentive. Food was amazing. They serve small portions for you to share and try and you can order seconds of any of them. Great way to try things you may not normally order. You can add on a meat entree and a dessert/espresso option for an additional cost also. Would definitely go again to this restaurant. Came for our 40th anniversary on the recommendation of the owner's family and the experience of friends. Exceeded our expectations. Tried the Appetizer Prix Fixe and from the salads to the artisan pizzas everything was a taste treat. Service was prompt and pleasant and atmosphere was cozy and decor was warm. Whether you are a visitor to or a resident of Winnipeg you need to put this on your to do list.

Our place to go for our anniversary every year! We had our dinner rehearsal here and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! We keep coming back because of the great service, atmosphere, location and of course the food! The caesar salad is my go to but honestly, there is nothing on here I hate. I wish we could come more but with a busy household, we can only treat ourselves a couple of times a year.

Incredibly delicious vegan options served by extremely proficient and pleasant staff. An all you can eat brunch that has me seriously wanting to return immediately. We did not choose what they served but were delighted by one spectacular taste sensation after another. Excellent value for the price. They also serve non vegan food. The atmosphere was delightful.

My experience at Chaise this evening was heavenly. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, with the perfect balance of music and romance. Little lights, vines and flowers surrounded us everywhere. The service was A+. The food and drinks were exceptional and I loved the idea of sharing the dishes. It was affordable and I left very satisfied. This patio is amazing and I can’t wait to go back again with my friends. I give it 5/5 stars!

The Food was excellent! My girlfriend and I chose to eat the $25 "special" where they bring out a salad, appetizer, pizza and pasta. You also can eat whatever you like again if you are to finish these cousrses all for just 25 dollars. We were unable to finish the original food brought out for us. We also chose to eat on the patio which is a very nice setting. It also helped that we chose a beautiful night to go for dinner

Great service, delicious food. The waitress was exceptional and very aware of our tables needs. My glass was never empty. She even provided us with a complimentary dessert, despite us having no complaints about the restaurant just out of kindness. I am never the type to ever leave a review, but I feel like this needed to be left on here. I been to Chaise once before and enjoyed every second of it, I loved the staff and the food was amazing for its prices. Until the day I decided to go back with a friend to show them how awesome this place was. But little did I know it was not gonna be the same experience I had the first time I went. The story was, me and my friend walked in Chaise, greeted by a blonde hair lady, quite young and thought she was polite when she first greeted us. She asked us to have a seat, then 30 minutes later we were not seated. The lady kept giving us dirty stares and walking past us without saying another word, she was constantly giving us unwanted looks to the point me and my friend were uncomfortable and decided to leave. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone, and id still recommend this place, as it is a good place and one experience doesnt ruin it all. But that lady definitely made me feel unwanted and makes me not want to go back. ______________________________________________________________________ Hi Shea, Thanks for the quick response, I honestly don't know how to specifically reply to your message but I hope you see this. This incident happened this week around 7 pm on April 18th, and Id like to thank you for taking the time to reply. Also as awesome as the offer sounds, I wouldn't find that necessary. All I ask for is to speak with the young blonde lady that was "dealing with us" and hope it doesn't happen again if we return. Thanks in advance

We came here for dinner on a whim and I was VERY pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food. Everything was delicious, the salads were delicately seasoned and flavored, the pasta was fresh, creamy and perfectly flavored, the pizza crust was made to order with superb toppings and the entree was a fantastic culmination of three meats including turducken. FREAKIN' TURDUCKEN!!! The waitress was very attentive, was able to talk clearly about all the dishes and was very polite and friendly. I highly recommend trying this place at least once. I assure you, you won't be disappointed.

Shea Ritchie has created one of the finest dining experiences I have ever enjoyed. The menu is phenomenal and the atmosphere is fantastic with one of the most beautiful patios I have ever been on. If you are a wine drinker/Connoisseur or simply enjoy a delicious glass this is the place for you. Elegant dining room service or more casual lounge are both equally enjoyable. Service is always excellent. It is my favourite place to go in Winnipeg for a fine meal and I love having the steak and Caesar salad, my personal favorite. Five years later after for stepping in the door my opinion has not changed with Chaise Café and Lounge being my favourite restaurant to eat at in Winnipeg. The only caveat is to make reservations because many nights it is very busy and you might have to wait or be disappointed and not get a table in time... Truly a magical dining experience!

The cozy ambiance, the attentive friendly service, the presentation, the unique flavours, the quality/freshness of the food and the price! Was a lovely first experience! The Prix Fixe dinner is definitely the way to go. It’s very reasonably priced considering its unlimited, with such incredible quality flavours on literally everything from the savoury appetizers to the unique salads, yummy pizza and fresh pasta! A must try! Looking forward to trying their brunch!

I usually don't give bad reviews but for this place I can't different, sorry guys! One star is for the place itself and one for the service people...you're welcome! The food???????????? I was there twice for brunch only, maybe a la carte tastes better, but the $20 brunch option was very disappointing.. When I went the first time with a friend, because it was recommended by another friend by the way, the food was served cold, we were asked how everything is, we told them, we got a 50% off voucher for our next visit, what we really appreciated and wanted to give it one more chance... And this second time was definitely my last time brunching here, the main plate was... , I don't know how to explain, I had the feeling we were served leftovers from last night, food from a buffet what nobody wanted to eat... And the dessert?! ????was just horrible... I am seriously sorry to write it! But we had waffles and Crêpes, cold, old, just discusting ???? and nobody asked us why we didn't eat it at all, because I would definitely say something like 'please try this stuff or let the chef try what he is offering the guests here' to the server... But I wasn't given the chance to do so...

I have now been to the Chaise Café & Lounge three times. So I've decided to write this review. All three visits our servers were positive, polite, and present. I'm a water with lots of ice kinda person and to alway have my glass full is very impressive The first two times were for brunch and I was absolutely blown away. The menu is "family style" so you are brought out courses to share. If you come across something that you didn't get enough of, you can order more. I may have eaten three Eggs Benedict... SMH The fact that this location was an old house renovated into a restaurant makes it very intimate and comfortable when it starts to get dark out. It's definitely one of those places that sets the tone for a first dinner date... Unfortunately the magic was wasted because I was here with some work friends. Dinner was phenomenal. Our service was excellent. The only thing I can pick at was the steak. Now it was darkish in there but it seamed fairly under the usual medium rare I've cooked and ordered in the past. I tried the chicken, pork and prawns and they were amazing. Now before everyone starts hating on this. I've cooked in restaurants for almost twenty years and I know by feel and temp what a medium rare steak should be. I didn't send it back because it was edible. I have eaten well aged steaks blue even. I just thought it was worth a mention. Definitely recommend Definitely coming back

Food was AMAZING, but service was pathetic. Girlfriend was hooting and hollering about this place for weeks. She finally took me, and was apologizing at the end. We had the $25 unlimited meal thing where they bring you small portions of every single entree until you have had them all. If you like one that you already had you can get as many servings of it afterwards. It took us 2.5 hours to get our salad, a pasta, and a pizza. We wanted to have a bit more pizza at the end, but it took way to long to get it the first time (an hour almost). My girlfriend was getting cold because it was getting dark, so we just went to the counter to ask for our bill. We also were only ever served two drinks in that time because no one would come around to see if we needed anything, and would walk away quickly after dropping plates off when they did come by.

Food was incredible and the quantity was a bargain for the price! A few very minor complaints such as the stools on the patio were very hard to move close to the table once sitting on them yet difficult to get in and out of if you somehow managed to get them close enough. The table was slatted so the tableware often fell through to the floor. When my fork fell to the floor I had asked our server for another but she never did return with one even after a reminder. I ended up using one of the forks used to serve the food. Despite those details we had a wonderful time and will be returning!

We took my partner’s parents here for dinner and loved it. The family style/prixe fixe menu was a blast and the server was courteous and professional about providing gluten free options. The portions are generous, I wish I had asked not to have pizza to be honest as I was very full. The food was tasty and a huge hit with our guests. I thought the salads were the knock out— and how often does a joint make you excited about salad? Very nice that the joint is accessible but I did notice the ramp hadn’t been cleared from a recent snowfall so maybe let them know when calling ahead. I was glad I had called ahead as it was quite busy.

Thank you for your response to a complaint made by a member of our party last Sunday. I would like to take a minute to clarify a few things. There were indeed a few in our party who enjoyed the meal and indulged in seconds, and would have been certain to make a return visit for that reason, despite the long wait in between courses. I am a little surprised to hear our server was a veteran. She was chilly from the beginning, and unavailable until the end. In fact, there had been a rather messy incident with a spilled coffee and when we realized no help was coming we had to forage in your back bar area for something with which to clean up. No one in our party left without paying. One of our party left shortly after the savoury was served without taking a bite. Had our server been available and involved in our experience she would have commented on and noticed his disappearance and clean plate. We had spent longer than necessary in your restaurant that day, and when our server did not show up with the bill or to ask our feedback, we payed up front. Any confusion about the bill could have been clarified with a simple table check, but there were few for us that day, and not even one at the end of our meal. Understaffing is understandable. Chilly, careless service, few and poorly managed table checks, and no explanations or apologies for wait times are not.

Update: I feel obliged to retract my previous recommendation. The ownership is now intentionally refusing to follow covid safety regulations. I will not go to a place that puts its staff or myself at risk, and certainly wouldn't encourage anyone else to either. Original: This is my go-to weekend brunch location! The brunch menu is a two course meal and changes a little every week now (they always have bacon). Sometimes it's great, and sometimes it's spectacular. If you're a picky eater you can call ahead to find out what the menu is. I've been for dinner and lunch a few times too and that's also amazing! They are fantastic at providing vegetarian options and other options for all kinds of food restrictions. It's not a fast food restaurant people - I don't know why anyone is complaining about the speed of the service. The whole idea is that you talk to the friends/family you came with and take your time enjoying the meal.

I think the concept is great, I liked the ambience, the cozy feeling and family style but the food fell short for me. We came in as a party of about 20 people and our server was great and kept up with food and drinks items. Our menu items included beats salad, beans salad, deconstructed caesar salad, risotto balls, smashed potatoes, two pasta dishes and two pizza items. I enjoyed the risotto balls as well as the smashed potatoes. I found that the food items lacked creativity and were very bland, not at all flavourful (risotto balls and smashed potatoes were good). Everything was very simple which can be good in some cases but it seems that in this restaurant’s case, it tried to be good with the concept it had but didn’t have the execution right and didn’t put in enough effort... monotone tasting (especially the pizzas which had no flavour and very little toppings, pasta dishes which tasted store bought). I left feeling full but not at all satisfied with what I ate...wouldn’t come back again. Price was a bit steep for the quality of items we got, although food was plentiful. $25 each with 15% tip added to the bill as it was a group we came with.

Went for brunch for the first time and loved it!! I cook at home, and so many times I look at a meal and think about how I would improve it, this restaurants food is flawless and I wouldn't have a clue how to even replicate it let alone improve it (as if that was possible). It is nice place filled with alot of issues, few are as follows: 1) at the time of reservation it was so difficult to get the table and when we were there the cafe was almost empty, 2) way too long to bring food, 3) time in between app, salad and main course is also way too long probably 20+ min in between clearing plates and next round of food. 4) food quality was not worth the amount I spent Probably I am not gonna go there again. One star for the server and one star for the ambiance..

We wandered up not knowing what to expect for lunch and were so pleasantly surprised. The patio is a beautiful space to enjoy brunch. We had kale caesar salad, fried potatoes, steamed vegetables with balsamic reduction, bacon, sausage, croissant with spinach, egg, and bechamel, waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, and German pancakes. It was a great value for the variety and quantity of food. We look forward to going again.

Amazing. They have a set menu, which is what everyone goes there for, but along with it they also have a regular menu you can order individual dishes off of, just like at any other restaurant. Make sure to book a reservation or call before going because usually the place is fully booked and it's hard to get seating otherwise. Restaurant has a nice, big, and open patio where you can enjoy their various meals!! They have quite a bit of seating inside as well, which I prefer but for the summer patio it is! Our group got the set menu and the dishes were absolutely amazing! It starts off with a few app dishes and then it goes on to a few main dishes and finally dessert, which can be added on???? Overall the restaurant is great place to go with a group of friends and family, especially where you all want to go and have a great time while enjoying the food. Our server today was also the sweetest and did an impeccable job! Kudos to this guy! Definitely a must go!!????????????????

We've been here on multiple occasions. The food is quite good and everything is scratch made. I love the all you can eat brunches. It's a fixed 4 courses so you should be prepared to have what's on the menu. This is not to everyone's liking, as some people need that control of dictating their menu options.

Excellent restaurant. Went to dinner with a group of 14, we had a reservation of course. Salads, appetizers, and main courses were all brought out in good time. My favourite was probably the risotto balls. They were great with taking our drink orders and bringing pitchers of water because it was hot outside. Would definitely go back and recommend people to try. Just be prepared for lots of good food because it's served family style.

I went with 7 other friends for Sunday brunch. The food service was unbelievably slow. We were receiving a single plate of food every 20 minutes or so, after waiting nearly an hour for our first plate to arrive. When the food finally did arrive, it was not nearly enough to share amongst 8 people, so immediately being set on the table, we asked for more, indicating clearly to the waitress that there wasn't enough to go around. Sure enough after 20 minutes had passed before we finally received our second plate of food to split again. We were told they were very busy and the they couldn't keep up. Unfortunately 2 hours had passed by this point and we still hadn't received our second course. I had to leave by this point, so I left hungry. Here's a tip - don't seat more customers than you can handle. You cannot take away my bad experience, but you could have turned me (or others) away - had we not been the first table of the day. The waitress reduced the bill by half, which is great because I would have refused to pay full price for that.

This is a vegetarian restaurant not for me plus 1) dirt is everywhere 2) it’s a house and the smile incredibly disgusting 3) prefix menu is so horrible, you don’t get to choose your food. They choose the cheapest type of food. Of course the prefix menu does not cotain any type of meat. It’s all salads and the disgusting appetizers. Rating is 4.4 in google!!! Not sure how. Second floor has lots of dirt on the ground. All sofas and chaises are peeled already and even disgusting to sit on. I paid $93 and was so incredibly disappointed that I wasted this amount in this garbage. This experience will definitely be forgotten and will never ever come back or suggest this place to anyone of my friends.

Fantastic place to go if you are going with a group. Everything is served family style and I suggest the $25 meal option where they give you an assortment of everything. Appetizers, salad, pasta and pizza are endless. The drink options are nice, and they have a decent wine, spirits and beer list. They are very flexible when it comes to dietary restrictions. I being a vegetarian, had plenty to eat and was very satisfied. Vegan meals are also optional with a small extra fee. The meat eaters were also very happy with their sirloin steaks that were also an extra charge. Our large group of 10, all left with full bellies, and great memories. Will definitely come again!

Horrible service; would never go back! Threes servers waiting on the patio; all of them asked if I would like anything else I told the first server I would like seconds. Told the second server who cleared our table I was still waiting on seconds and when the third server came by and asked us to pay inside; again I said I was waiting for seconds... so one took my order two said they would check on it and in the end we waited way too long and left without seconds. I would never recommend this place to anyone. You over pay for the food and service; not worth it. Go to Ben & Florentine's.

I met with the owner, Shea, this winter to plan a wedding in the spring for around 65 to 70 guests. Shea assured me that he and his staff would make this the best possible booking and wedding experience for me and it absolutely was the best experience and more!! He ALWAYS responded to any questions, calls, and emails immediately and he made sure to answer any questions that I had in such a way that I felt he really cared. I booked the whole main level of Chaise Cafe which also lent us to the opportunity of enjoying the outside patio as our wedding was April 18th and we had a beautiful day. Chaise Cafe offers an intimate experience and exceptional service! Shea was very accommodating with the set up and decorations. He and his staff arranged tables and seating to ensure all guests were comfortable. My service and reception took place there and everything went off very smoothly, thanks to the organized and hard working staff. My guests were served the appetizer menu and the food was excellent and plentiful!! There was such a variety and guests were fed until they were full. The gourmet pizzas were a huge hit among other things. Many of my guests commented that they will return to Chaise Cafe for a private dinner as they were so impressed with the meal and the service. Shea also provided a specialty coffee bar which included lattes, cappicinos, expressos, and specialty teas. This was a really nice touch! I thank Shea and all of his staff for making my wedding day the most special day ever! Our experience was better than we could have ever imagined and more. If you are looking for a great dining experience in an intimate and warm setting or if you ever consider a dinner party, I would suggest you go to Chaise Cafe. You will not be disappointed!

I had a poor experience here for brunch, which was highly disappointing considering I had heard good things. Firstly, they did not ask for anyone’s vaccination cards, nor did I see any Covid-19 safety protocols being implemented. Secondly, it was my first time at this restaurant, and it wasn’t explained that it was a set menu family style. When the food came, it was a portion to feed approx. 1 person. The food was cold, but our server did not visit the table for us to inform them. The bacon was microwaved and gross. For 20$ per person, the portions, and quality of food is completely lacking - highly overpriced. Additionally, the mimosa is 8$, for approximately 1 teaspoon of champagne. When we expressed our concerns, all that was done was “oh I’m sorry to hear that”. We had to go to another restaurant since we didn’t relatively anything. I feel like a bill for >100$ for 3 people for brunch is highly unreasonable.

I went in not knowing what to expect and left very happy and full! My fiancée and I are looking for a place to have our wedding reception and Chaise café was first on our list of potential venues. We went with some friends (so four of us total) and sat on the adorable patio. We got the prix fixe and man, we were not disappointed. We were able to sub out one of the pre-determined foods with another we wanted to try with no issue. Everything we ate tasted amazing and we didn't want to stop! The fact we could order seconds was amazing for the price but I know I felt bad I couldn't utilize it because I was so full! The sangria (both white and red) was fantastic as well. Our server, Eddie, was so pleasant and chatty in a personable way. He answered our questions quickly and was knowledgeable. He assured us the venue would be lgbt friendly (which is our #1 priority in a venue). All in all, highly recommend for a good night out and will definitely be returning one way or another!

3.5/4 visited on a Thursday. Prompt, attentive, couteous service by Marvin. Updated decor is pleasant. Fig pizza, Risotto balls, poutine, salad of 3 items - all very delicious. Pasta: lasagna lacked spice & needed additional filling between layers. The other pasta with red sauce was too acidic and lacked favor. We enjoyed seconds on the risotto and poutine.

A fun place to go with a small group. In an old house so there are two separate fairly cozy rooms, also an outdoor option if weather permits. Reservations recommended, and tell them about any ingredient restrictions. A sense of adventure helps, as there is no menu. Your server will tell you what the kitchen is producing for that meal, and check again re allergies etc. There will be a sharable plate brought out for the savory course and later the sweet course. It has always been an interesting array of well prepared food, usually with a French influence. Initial quantities are not large but they will repeat the full offering or just your favorites on request, so we have never left hungry.

I had heard good things and was looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, our experience there can be summed up in one word: Disappointing. The service was slow and our server was not personable. We were first in on a Saturday morning and were told to wait even though the restaurant was empty. At the end of our meal, the server prompted us twice to come to the front till to leave. We felt rushed out of an empty restaurant. The food was bland and boring. Eggs benedict cooked for too long, rice pudding not cooked long enough. The potatoes were dry and flavourless. Even the London fog was made poorly. Eating at Chaise was not a good experience and we will not being going there again any time soon. Update: I have received a portion of the refund, but it unfortunately not a full refund as was offered originally. It was still kind of the owners to try to reach out and I appreciate that. Perhaps if we had not felt rushed out of the restaurant, we would have been able to speak to the staff about the issues when they occurred. We did not indicate everything was fine and then proceeded to write a bad review. We were not pleased in the moment, felt rushed to leave, and subsequently wrote a review that reflected the experience.

My previous experiences with Chaise were excellent in the past so I decided to suggest going there for brunch with my family—unfortunately we were left unimpressed, a bit hungry, and unsafe at the end of our visit. Upon entering the restaurant it was already quite packed, it seemed that a party was booked. I had made reservations prior and did not expect the party that was booked to affect our visit greatly. Our food took almost an hour to be prepared, and was lukewarm by the time it got to us. The brunch options served to us were very underwhelming, and the dessert/sweet portion of the brunch menu is not as advertised on the site (waffles, crepes, pancakes, etc)—since we got 4 small scoops (like 2 tablespoons) of some sort of parfait, and some bitter chocolate pudding. Throughout our visit we spent most of our time waiting, and felt extremely unsafe with how close in proximity we were with the party being set up by others as we were eating. I understand how busy Sundays can be, but it was evident that the place was understaffed and our server was distressed every time she came by our table. While waiting for our seconds, halfway through our meal we (and another table close to us) were asked to move from our seats indoors to outdoors to accommodate the party booked (even though we had only been there for only a little over an hour). We had decided shortly after being moved that waiting for our seconds was no longer worth the wait, as we had felt unsafe due to the lack of social distancing in the restaurant and dissatisfied with the quality of food for the price we had paid, and most especially since we were asked to move halfway through our meal. Although we had booked a reservation for this place, I would have appreciated it more if the establishment itself had decided to turn us away on their own if they knew that they had a big party booked and that our experience would not be up to standard—most importantly to follow health and safety regulations! Nothing was done to compensate the poor quality of service we had received, and we truly did not feel valued. After this experience, I felt embarrassed that I had recommended my family there. Unfortunately I will no longer be recommending Chaise Cafe.

I love the food here! I usually order Prix fixe and get to try all the specialities. The servers are amazing. It is a must try, for a few people or big groups.

Always a good prefixed menu of a round of salads, and round of pastas and pizzas. Once the courses are done you are able to order more of each dish you liked. Also have the option of adding a protein and/or dessert (extra). Very accommodating to vegetarian and dairy free dinners.

We always go there for special occasions and we just love it!!! We went there today for brunch and the food was outstanding. The croissants with eggs were ???? The food is always amazing. Healthy and tasty! Lots of vegetarian options. Our server steph was super friendly and professional! 110% recommended.

Service was good and attentive. Food was also good, dishes when they came, came to close together. Table was quite small for food dishes to fit. Had to keep moving dishes to try. Also, food got cold before you could try it. Dissappointed when I was told the draft machine was broken. We had considered dessert, but what was in display case looked old. Other than this, enjoyable.

Had an excellent experience here on their Monday night special. Food was fantastic and portion size was excellent. Had to take quite a bit of delicious food home by the end of the meal just to be able to try each course. Great atmosphere as well! Would definitely recommend going here!

Can't wait until restaurants are allowed to re-open for inside or patio dining as this place has all the right ambience, friendly attentive service, and food that'll have you raving to all your friends about!

I really wanted to like this place since it is very beautiful on the outside however the food which is quite overpriced considering the taste made me very sick. I was up all night vomiting. It is a nice place but I personally will never be eating here again. Don’t mean to hurt their business but I am not pleased to have paid so much for an unpleasant evening.
