Quaint little place, you don't quite know what to expect when you order at the counter, but the breakfast was incredible, felt like going to "mom's". Service was friendly and casual. Great little place!

Great place ????, was here in the summer for lunch, came in kissy before closing and the staff was great, had no issue serving us even though they had already mopped up and everything. Sandwiches were amazing and great prices. Will definitely visit again any time I’m in port Colbourne. Keep up the good work, not many great places like this anymore

Stopped in for the fish fry. It was very good. The haddock was a large portion and the fries were very good. Everything was very clean and the staff followed the safety rules and wore masks. Will be going back.

The food is always fresh and the prices very good. The service is very good as well. Last time we shared a chicken Caesar wrap. The chicken was cooked when ordered so it wasn't a premade wrap which was nice.

The food was so yummy that we forgot to take a picture, so all we could snap were the pancakes. If you have room, don't hesitate to order something from the pastry case, and the coffee cannot be beaten.

As someone who worked in Port Colborne and someone who regularly goes back , I can’t say enough good things about the market cafe- the employees and owner. This was one of my fav spots when I worked close by and I make it a point to visit there when I can. I’ve never had any issues with the staff nor the owner. The owner is involved in the community and cares about each and every customer. It’s a shame that someone has to come on here and make false accusations. The food at the market cafe is amazing - it’s home made comfort food that tastes like it comes out of your mother’s kitchen The staff are extremely friendly and make it a point to make you feel welcome. If you’re in the area , be sure to hit this place up as you will not be disappointed

I had breakfast at this cafe today. I have been a number of times in the past and have always enjoyed their food and friendly service...which is why I went back today. However, very disappointingly, none of the staff were wearing masks!..not even the person, who seemed to be the owner, who served me my food. Perhaps it's because I am a Canadian (polite to a fault as they say) , but I didn't question the staff or ask them to take the breakfast back and make a new one with staff wearing masks which is what I probably should have done. I do hope to be able to go back in the future but will be inquiring about their care and service to the community by wearing PPE and hope that everything they have now breathed all over is sanitized by then.

I came to Port Colborne for some work. I went to Market cafe for a late breakfast. The Veggie omlette was tasty, sumptuous and a filling meal. The owners were really very nice and hospitable. If i come back to Port Colborne, this will always be my go-to restaurant for breakfast. Thanks for the hospitality and really good food.

Was working in town today and needed to find a place to sit and eat with my coworker where we could have a working lunch. This place was spotless and the servers were so friendly. The owner made a point to come and speak with us and she told us how they had only been in their new location for a few weeks. Our meals were great and so was the coffee. I don’t get to Port Colborne much (I’m from Hamilton) but when I return, I’ll definitely be stopping in again. So very refreshing to be served by nice people who truly care about their customers dining experience. Hats off to all of you and the best of luck during a difficult time for small business!

What a wonderful place to get breakfast, served all day. Today was fish and chips and there was many customers coming in for eat in or take out. Soup of day served fresh or take it home frozen. The service is friendly and the food is yummy. I can't wait to go back.

Had the pan fried fish tonight for dinner and my family had the fish and chips. I want to eat healthier but don't like fish unless its covered in batter and tartar sauce but decided to try the pan fried fish and coleslaw tonight and I must say I am not sorry I did its the first time I have ever eaten everything on my plate when it come to fish. It was amazing and I will now only eat Connie's pan fried fish from now on. Every Friday is fish and chips night in my house I am happy I found a healthier option for myself while my family can still have the fish they enjoy

Although I live in Macon, Georgia, USA; I wanted to buy a gift card for a special friend. After a google search I found The Market Cafe on W Main Street and spoke with Emily Bailey, who was extremely helpful. She listened to my request and mailed me the gift card in a timely fashion. We ate there on a late Sunday morning and the food was not as good as peop! say it is far as breakfast two salty had a hair in my home fries and my waiter screwed up my order,maybe just a bad day if that's the case I will try again ????

I have been to this diner a lot and I have always loved the food. Small place but most times not too busy and very personable and friendly staff. Great local breakfast diner. I have never been for lunch.
