Absolutely amazing food! Options for everyone! Great service and cute restaurant. Lots of variety for meat lovers, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free! Their gluten free bread was amazing and so was their vegan burger! Will definitely go back!

Kayleigh

Tater. Tots. Enough Said. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of great food options (vegetarian included)! Favourites include: chilli tots, garden party burger and the breakfast special early in the am.

Disturbed Gaming

I gave it a 5 cause I hate giving 4 stars.. ok on to the review.. Clean place, very nice decoration and a chill patio. Food was really good! I had the avocado toast with eggs. Pancakes were ok and the coffee was really good! Service is good and staff are friendly! I believe you must try this place if ur in town. And I read some people mentioning that its just gluten free n vegan which is not the case at all. They just cater to people with different needs. Again coffee is really good

Denis Shelston

Excellent food, interesting decor. A tad expensive, but then restaurants are all expensive now.

Benjamin Agyare

Amazing breakfast sandwiches. Amazing sprinkle pancakes. Amazing staff. Thanks for giving my GF a victory head scarf....lol

James Dooley

LOVE this place! Design is so cool - like a futuristic retro diner - the food is so good (generous portions) and the staff are super friendly. Oh, and the milkshakes are killer.

Suzanne Kavanagh

The grainy roots rice bowl was hearty. Glad to have this eatery down the street.

Julia Pie

Hearty breakfast. Really generous portions . Cute little diner in downtown Picton. Patio seating available (even for large groups) .

Семён Семёнович

Hot dog is horrible, took them 20 minutes to bring 1 hot dog. Actually, I don't like it out here.

Laura Voskamp

We had an excellent experience at The Vic on Canada Day. We showed up around 3pm with 18 cyclists who had just ridden over 50km in the sun and had another 25 to go - so we needed food and water, stat. We knew we were taking our chances with a group this large, knowing the restaurant does not take reservations. We thought maybe we'd have to split up, but they absolutely live up to their promise to accommodate large groups - within 10 minutes, they found us two booths side-by-side indoors (thank goodness!) We had two vegans and one gluten-free guest in the group and no one had any issues. One person was poured the wrong beer and Julianne caught the mistake before the guest even noticed. Everyone loved their meals and the decor. Service was out of this world, the host that day was very friendly and accommodating despite what we knew was a big ask. Thank you for everything!

Denis Bégin

Tasty food and such a fun vibe. Definitely would recommend.

Ted Kereluk

Asked for just a takeout hamburger with the works , got hamburger and condiments in the bag with tater tots which i didn't want, $17, it wasn't even good, Harvey's angus is better, $10 less and they load the burger..

Kimberley Craig

Atmosphere was nice. They have a great system for waiting for tables. Food was okay, would try it again and see if it was just not a great choice on my part.

Allyson Donovan

We had such a great experience here! Popped in for a quick beer on our honeymoon and they treated us to free drinks and a free appetizer. Just very lovely service and people. And the vibe of the whole place is just so cute. Definitely will be coming back in the future!

Jenna Allan

Good coffee and food, with a beautiful interior esthetic and awesome patio, but slightly overpriced and always very busy with long waits. Haven't really had a visit yet that I've been able to enjoy, but will keep trying.

Emma Cosby-Costiff

Amazing atmosphere. Anita our server was the best. Everyone was super friendly and the food was exceptional. Definitely coming back in the future ????

Catherine Kulik

Food was tasty but didn't like that even though we sat on the patio to eat, we were given takeout containers (covid?). Food was sloppy on presentation (bc it shifted in the container). Tatertots were awesome but the sausage was not. (Tried my cousin's breakfast poutine). Overall, still worth checking out as the food was delicious and satisfying!

NAM

Love this place! They always have options that fit my vegan gf diet!

Melissa Ore

Delicious breakfast, great service and ambience. Loved the waitlist function on their website!

John Ploegman

Moldy and burnt buns. Way over priced. $135 bucks for 6 adults and 2 kids to eat burgers and tater tots. Just went to Montanas with same people and paid way less. Never again will I pay for vics

Kyle Edward Wilson

The big mac style rice bowl was amazing! All the taste but none of the guilt. Of course great beer was on tap too!

Samantha Kotyck

Had the best time at The Vic Drive in ❤️ such a cute aesthetic, and honestly unreal food. I got the “reigning roots” with broccoli soup, and my boyfriend got the Vic burger with tater poutine! Would highly recommend all 4 items. We were visiting PEC for a few days and just popped in for a late lunch, and would totally come back if we were ever by this way again! Also the server was amazing :-) he had curly blonde hair and was working today around 2pm, so enthusiastic and lovely ❤️❤️ thank you!!!

Anastasiya Stackaruk

SO many vegan options! Very thankful to have this place in the county - my go-to for quick and delicious eats. The retro drive-in diner experience is so much fun! Staff are always super kind.

Patrick De Guia

Great place for a coffee and a light lunch. Best part was the patio right in front of the library to enjoy your food. Got the country salad with a nice light apple vinaigrette. Lots of protein for a small salad!

M Liesbeth

Such small servings, so overpriced. 40$ for a small bowl of food and 2 pieces of avocado toast. Tasty food but can’t justify the price.

Renee Chaaya

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious breakfast. Recommend the cheese tots and the Caesar

Nancy Norton Murray

Very good food and very pleasant server's. We will be going back for breakfast next time. Menu is amazing...

François Lavictoire

Loved the ambiance and the food. Would come back anytime!

Overall Reviews

Very unique decor. I got the breakfast poutine. The presentation was nice and came out quickly. However based on the description in the menu I felt let down. It said it had eggs sausage and bacon. There was one egg a few tiny crumbles of bacon and maybe half a breakfast sausage. I must say I was expecting a lot more for the price.

Ben C

Went without much expectations and still it was disappointing. We waited almost 30 minutes for a table and then another 30 to get any food. Poor menu and poor service combo. They have 5 items on the menu, all sandwiches served in takeout paper box with one lame side dish and no other option although advertised as 2... The water cups smelled horrible and so did the coffee mugs as if dried with dirty cloth. For the price you'd expect a little better if not a lot better. Many other options around that might not attract the hipster crowd but have much better value. Not recommended unless you enjoy being blatantly disrespected.

Cathy Lemmond

What a great spot for lunch! The food was delicious! The family had burgers and loved them. I had the mushroom soup which was made on the premises. So good! The manger was amazing! She came and asked us if we wanted to move inside when she noticed the kids were cold. All COVID protocols were being followed through on. What a fun place!

Peter Wiik

Nice atmosphere. Good food. Great coffee. Friendly staff.

Don C

Nice looking place from the outside but pretty disappointing brunch experience. From when we ordered it was a pretty long wait for our food and once it arrived we felt stiffed. Overpriced for what you get.

Michael Pinkus

Good burger ... Nice patio enclosure ... Life in the time of covid.

Maria Jaramillo

Tiny coffee place with great options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Great for ordering to go and do a picnic in a parc

Camille Roy

Service was slow but very friendly. Food was good and we love the concept of the place.

shayna maracle

An incredibly cute diner, with scrumptious food. Many options for all diets. All day breakfast is personally my favorite part. Open 7 days a week (rare for PEC) and all seasons. Such friendly sweet staff, with 10 star service. Wish I could be here every single day.

Bill McDiarmid

Funky place, with a very limited menu, and a bit pricey. They were out of wine, and could not serve beer, as they were out of the compressed air needed to pump it. I was a bit surprised when I was charged for the parmesan cheese I asked for, which i needed to liven up my pasta meal. Great staff though!

Nora Bowlby

We waited over an hour for our food as the orders for people who came after us paraded by us. When the food finally arrived it was cold and the toast was burned. We were there for breakfast. It was a major disappointment to an otherwise lovely weekend with out of town guests.

Owen Williams

By pure chance we found this place and I'm so glad we did! Amazing breakfast sandwiches, great tots, and DELICIOUS milkshakes. They've got a great, safe patio that allows dogs too! The interior is gorgeous, can't wait to come back one day and dine inside. Worth a visit! ????

Chris Rodriguez

The best breakfast I’ve had during my holidays! ???? i had the sunrise skillet and was a delicious and healthy option! Portion was just perfect to start the day. Ask for a table at the front patio, the decor is cozy and fun!

Evan Trott

A beautifully themed and decorated diner in the centre of town. Amazing food, clearly quality ingredients. Very nice staff and fair prices. What sets this place apart is the branding. They stress the freshness and fun, and they deliver! Between their colouring contest and joke filled menu this place puts a smile on your face. I got the Queen's big breakfast and it was fantastic. The tater tots are surprisingly incredible, don't miss them!

Janet Emmons

I enjoyed the company patio service and the laughs with friends! One dish type interesting meals.

Abu Malik

Very suprised to find this place in a small city like Picton, amazing food with a lot of healthy and gluten-free choices, the raspberry limonade was so good and the patio next to it where you can sit is so beautiful

Aaron Wiik

Great atmosphere, wonderfull food and coffee, I've been here countless times in afternoon commutes and it's never gotten old. 5/5 stars keep up the good work!

imDelt

Super fun diner with a simple but great tasting menu. Was in town for a week and went twice. My kids can't wait to return!

Steve Phillips

This place is a beautiful place with the best food! Mariko was our server and she was so nice, I highly recommend this to everyone visiting Picton!

Jacob Dey

Big, beautiful new restaurant. Almost TOO beautiful, kind of feels like your eating in a museum. Expensive too.

Yodaman Solo

I’ve been visiting Prince Edward County for years now and I don’t ever recall The Vic restaurant on Main Street. Now that they’ve moved to the new location I finally noticed them. That was a great move on their part ????☺️ It’s so colourful and bright and the staff is so nice and pleasant and very easy on the eyes. The food was great. My skillet was delicious! ????☺️

Sarah Baxter

Enjoyed an casual breakfast with friends in a hip and layed back environment. I would highly recommend.

Aqvin Saldanha

Chocolate milkshake is amazing

Daniel McIntyre

super friendly and great food/coffee. cute place, too! love it every time i'm in town.

Jess M

Incredible breakfast here. You order then take your seat. We ordered the avocado toast and the banana pancakes with coffee. Everything was fresh and tasty and we sat outside.

Tony Forbes

We came in for lunch for our first time and were excited to see a lunch special of 2 burgers with beers for $30. As I am 6 years sober, we asked the server if we could get the special and sub in 2 sodas for the beers. The server told me that they were unable to make substitutions and I paid a premium for NOT drinking with my lunch. Not impressed that your establishment is so heavily vested in the drinking culture for not being a bar. The atmosphere is nice and the burger was good, but the attitude of the staff member when we requested a non-alcoholic substitution on the special left a lot to desire.

Adrien LOGUT

Decent meal, even if it was a bit light on the eggs. Tots were delicious. We got served pretty quick and the patio is nice, even with the busy road next to it.

Christian Jaehn-Kreibaum

Unique Cafe with fresh colour atmosphere and very good food. We came here on a Saturday to enjoy breakfast after a fresh air walk. Very good espresso and coffee and we enjoyed the salmon benny and avocado toast.

Erik Fielding

The best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Great selection of beverages as well.

Sofia Briskin

I liked the atmosphere of 50rh. Girls who work here are nice.bfood is decent. We had burgers. They were a little bit dry

Kendra Allin

Excellent service and wonderful staff! Aaron was fantastic, friendly and so helpful! Food was delicious and fast! Their drive in food service is a blast from the past and such a fun way to deal with the Covid restrictions for restaurants. I will be returning for more delicious crispy tater tots and chocolate shakes ????????????

Jordan Toohey Carignan

Adorable place and the food is so fresh! Lots of gluten free breakfast / brunch options

Meghan Nicholls

Enjoyed a great brunch on Saturday morning. Service is super friendly, the vibe and branding is SO cute (get ready to Instagram it up!) and the food is really yummy. I can see why it's so popular! They're also willing to customize anything to make it suit, so that's helpful if you have specific dietary needs. They've moved recently-ish to have more room plus expanded their patio, Check it out!

Rahul Anjamani

Tiny yet beautiful place. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed good yummy food.

Maxim Briskin

15 cad for a very generic fast food style burger is probably too much.

Andre Blanchet

Food here was really good. We are here twice in one day on our visit. We tried the breakfast poutine and avocado toast (more on that) for breakfast and the Vic Burger and Double Cheeseburger with chocolate shake and tater tots for dinner. Breakfast poutine was outstanding, but the avocado toast (also very delicious!) was not what we were expecting. It was more of a hamburger buns with tomato, egg, and avocado on it- see pic. Both dinner burgers were tasty, big, and beefy (they had a fresh real beef irony-ness about them). The shake was wonderful and I could see them making it with real milk, not some kind of mix. The host (or FOH cashier) was the happiest little curly haired guy ever, what every shop wishes to hire in the person you see when you first walk in. Just a note, if following YELP, the directions are wrong as there is no longer a Vic Café, this is where/what it is now. Good job Vic Café

Toronto

It is pretentious and expensive. And, to answer your arrogant comment, yes, I have actually visited. Service was non-existent and that you should tip and how much you should tip and tips on should not be less than 15% and tips added for groups etc. etc. was the main focus. The food was just okay. It may survive the summer as a tourist trap, then that will be it.

Jan Hicks

Pretty great poutine tatter tots. The chocolate milkshakes contained too much whip cream which made it difficult to taste the ice cream. The large patio makes it easy for COVID 19 dining. Unfortunately it closes at 9 pm. But they do serve 2 types of single canned wine. Great location on the Picton main street. Very friendly staff.

Berkley Miller

Cool experience to have our order taken from the car, service was really friendly and pretty fast. The Vic Burger was pretty good, bun was a tad dry but overall was well cooked. The Tater Poutine was a treat. It was a good size, and the tots were superrrr crispy which I loved and smothered in gravy and curds.

mandie greck

Super cute cafe! Staff were very nice and service was quick. So cozy inside, wish I could have spent longer there.

Bora Bilgin

Very clean, well maintained restaurant with nostalgic theme. Would definitely recommend!

Ro Omrow

Good food! I had the goat burger. Loved it. Just the right size. Tater tots rounded out the meal. Minimal packaging appreciated given the current COVID-19 'disposable culture '. Cannot wait till we can get real table service. Busy staff.

Nikolas Jackson

Cute place for a delicious meal! We got the tater tot poutine & burger, & both were great!

JP Tessier

Good food and excellent service on the patio. Great way to get the day started.

Steven Miller

The best food! Love the tots and the burgers are very tasty as well.

The Fother

Great atmosphere, the unique dishware, and top notch food make this place a great place to stop by for your all day breakfast. The supplied sidewalk chalk for use on the outdoor patio helps to keep the children occupied while bringing a truly custom floor

Dewan Karim

One of the best cafe in Picton. This is ideal cafe model ugly and commercial cafe chains and how to do it properly. The rice bowls is must taste item for lunch or dinner. And Avocado toast for breakfast is the best in town.

Lynn Thomas

Labour Day weekend, Sunday at 3 o’clock there are only four or five people in line and they shut the door and told us they were closing. Any successful business would never turn away customers like that. Don’t complain if your business fails and don’t blame it on Covid. You are Short sighted!!!!

Annie Kwok

We decided to try this diner for breakfast because it looked quirky, fun and had plenty of tables available on the patio and inside. When we asked for a table, we were told it would be at least a 30 min wait. Wait, what? There are empty tables! A group of 4 ahead of us were also turned away. I asked if we could sit at the bar (empty) because my 5 yr old was hungry and we just wanted to eat soon. We were refused seating there as well without any explanations. We walk along Main Street to kill time, when we returned the restaurant was more empty than full... but there were still people waiting for tables, sitting in the parking lot, it was absurd! We should have left, because it got worse. The food was expensive, the quality was poor, parts of our breakfast was missing, the fruit served appeared to be up cycled, and to top it off we were given a charred pancake (burnt on both sides). No one told us we had to pay at the front and we sat looking around until I saw action. The guy at the register said he would clear my bill in a moment and then completely ignored me 2 min later.. the patron behind me had to say him “I think this lady is ahead of me”. As if this wasn't enough, he apologized for the mix up, also gave reasons why the service was so slow and why we could not be seated.... he blamed the staff!! Apparently a few called in sick. When I had no reaction, he said “I know, not an excuse right?” After which he asked “the food, service and experience here was it excellent?” wait, what?!?! All I could say without losing my calm and my manners was “no, it was just ok”. Never coming back to this place.

Kristine Galvan

The tater tots are worth any line-up. Plain or cheesy, always add it to your order you won’t be sorry. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. It get busy and they’re doing their best - give all the tips! The patio was busy but tables clear up quick. The burgers come dressed with everything you expect in a good burger and a really delicious bun. Would make it a point to go back the next time I’m in PEC!

Bozena nikolski

Usually I have my Starbucks coffee every day but this little place was amazing!! Freshly ground and brew makes this place amazing

d c

Friendly staff with good customer service, nice décor and design. The burger was bit overpriced and so were the tots. It's a shame because the food is delicious but it's not really worth it if you come here often. It's a good once or twice experience but compare to other hamburger places this is a bit on the higher end of the price scale. Would recommend the Vic burger with tots if you're trying for the first time

Bryan Hammond

Good food and good location. Super friendly staff and really cool decorations!

Alex Hawkins

Great brunch spot for us in Picton. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. Interesting decor as well.

Evan Hallward

Awesome food, ambiance, and very friendly staff. Points of feedback: - the sourdough on the menu came out as dry, white toast - some of the smaller portions, ex beans and mushrooms, came out lukewarm.

Courtney Hansen-Campbell

Obsessed! This was the best quality food I’ve had in a long time. Great aesthetic, great service. So glad we found this place

Mark Abraham

Cool, trendy vibe with great food and coffee. Lots of gluten and vegan options available.

Tito's CoffeeCo

Great Ambiance, nice decoration, we ordered two coffees and instantly got a jug of water and glasses. Overall Exceptional expirience. MUST DO IN PICTON!

Julia Keys

Delicious burgers and tots! Great service and super cute design and decor.

Diane F.F.

Licensed, tons to choose from with even yummy vegetarian & gluten free options. Great decor, fast service, fairly priced for what you get. Will return and recommend The Vic to friends and family.

Baylea Mahoney

This place is amazing! Just had a lovely breakfast that was fresh and delicious. The staff are so kind and friendly. Can’t wait to go again

Vito Apa

Had a great Irish coffee !

J. B

Just awful. First, you have to order, pay and tip before you sit down. When you do, and get your coffee, it’s the worlds most watered down. I’m not kidding. I asked for a new cup after the server said that the coffee maker sometimes doesn’t work right. The new cup was the same. Like weak tea. People, I’ve driven across America 4 times and had some pretty weak coffee along the way. This was the weakest and worst. The food arrived in takeaway containers with plastic forks and bathroom style brown paper towel napkins because Covid(?) and was pretty boring. Tater-tots?! Like the ones that McCain makes that have been in your freezer for a year. Server didn’t check on us after the coffee thing. So much for pre-tipping. To be fair, I was here two years ago and it wasn’t bad at all. I know restaurants don’t have it easy, but come on…I don’t know what the owner is doing now beyond charging way too much and offering way too little. $55 for a bad breakfast for two.

Sandra Fraser

Fast and courteous but food isn't anything to write home about. Tots are good though :)

Natalie Plouffe

The Vic was SO AWESOME, and SO YUMMY. We stopped in during our honeymoon in PEC. It was quiet which was so nice for us, it felt like we had the place to ourselves! Food was absolutely delicious from the tots, and confetti pancake to my avocado toast - 12/10. Doesn't hurt that it was such a cool little place aesthetically, too! Can't wait to come back next year when we make our way back.

Christopher Murray

A lovely bright cafe, very large selection on the menu and superb friendly service. Highly recommended.

Stephanie Rose

Friendly and engaging staff with a gorgeous new patio! Coffee is always fresh and food is fantastic!

Diana Chard

This was our first time at the new Vic Cafe and we’ll definitely be back. The atmosphere and decor is fun and welcoming to everyone. The food was delicious and the service faultless.

Justin Vanden Bosch

Fantastic breakfast. Properly cooked bacon, delicious eggs. Properly poached or sunny side up. Good vibe and clean place. Highly recommend.

Yuli Sato

Fun breakfast spot in Picton. We arrived around 9:30am and waited maybe 10-15 minutes. I had the Royal Highness Sandwich with a side of tots. The sandwich was HUGE - it’s honestly more of a burger with an egg on it than a sandwich. It was very satisfying and very filling. My partner had the breakfast poutine which was also huge. Altogether with coffee it was about $40. All in all a good experience, although like others have said they serve in takeout containers which seems wasteful, but might be due to Covid.

Andrew Foster

Really unique style, kind've retro, kind've modern. Food was really good, came here for lunch with my fiancée, and we both had the vic burger. Their special sauce tasted pretty good, and I loved that the burger came with tater tots. We had their flavored soda water to drink, a lime for me and cherry for her. Overall a great experience, with great food, and we will be back for sure! Highly recommend trying here

Luke Kroeker

Fantastic experience, great food, very friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more.

Jim Beretta

Highly recommend The Vic Cafe in Picton. Coffee was really good, staff is friendly and the baked goods, delicious. The surroundings are cool as well.

Patricia Mitchell

Very busy and one waitress. Food took awhile to be tabled after ordering but I'm always willing to wait for food that was this good. Our table had a mix of dishes and no complaints anywhere. Two patrons who had previously attended this establishment were disappointed that the menu had changed but I'm sure they found new favourites. Only comment would be that for a bowl of brown rice and some root veggies (all cold but for the rice) it was a bit on the pricey side. As were most of the menu items 15.50 and not the least bit filling.

Natalie Hewitt

Great outdoor space to eat. Small menu but a lot of variety. Very tasty fresh iced tea! Meal for 2 ended up being nearly $40, which felt a little bit high considering there is little service ( but you still are asked to tip) and the food is pretty small.

Evens Levesque

The Avotoast is not that great. The tater tots were better (even if the cheese looks and tastes weird).

Lee Beech

The Vic promised much, but failed to deliver on everything. The decor and design are great, but our experience didn't start off well as we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. Normally I wouldn't put too much emphasis on this, given the …

Robert Giggey

The food was tasty and the atmosphere was great for family but I thought it was over priced and service slow. Including waiting on more maple syrup to be charged $2 for it - my son got through half the pancakes before needing mroe. breakfast poutine and coffee was about $22 all in.

Riccardo Coen

Simple fresh food, apparently the daily gluten free pastry special is not available every day.

Pippa Sams

Sonya and Rick have done such a great job creating a new age drive in diner. The food is delicious (try the tots!) and the staff are friendly. Worth a visit if you are in Picton looking for a bite to eat.

Meg Mac

Great breakfast sandwiches, tot poutine and coffee. Beautiful space! Very trendy and happy vibe.

Simon L

Really cool burger spot to check out if you’re in Picton, love the vibe here give that old school diner look and feel, great burgers too and there’s out door seating as well! To find more tasty eats, follow me and check out my page on Instagram @hungrysimo

Ron Hutchison

Great service! Quick & tasty. And the absolute BEST chocolate milkshake!!

Samantha Auton

Great menu, very unique. Would definitely go back!

Head of the Lake Gardener

Went for lunch with my Dad on a Friday afternoon..we both got the $17 chicken sandwich..the only free side they offer is 'tater tots' which must be previously frozen..but the server said 'we have two sides ..tater tots or salad greens'..I opted for salad greens and my dad got the tater tots and they charged an extra $1.50 for the salad greens..like $17 for a chicken sandwich isn't enough, they have to make it $18.50...with two beers for another $15..our lunch bill came to over $50..not worth it..won't return..despite the hipster renos

Navleen sandhu

Gorgeous restaurant! The milkshake were great!

Reubin Kuc

This place has a lot of potential. Great pastries but food was awful. BLT croissant sandwich had pizza sauce in and shredded cheese. Tasted like a soggy pizza sandwich. The croissant was awesome. Simplfy your menu . BLT on a croissant. Plain and simple would taste great.

Jessica H

The food took over half an hour for just sandwiches! Not sure what the pictures are of because all our food had poor presentation and all came in disposable boxes even though we ate there - what a waste to dispose so many boxes nevermind presentation! Coffee also came in a paper cup and water glasses smelled off. If you aren’t vegetarian there are only 2 options for brunch. Servers were polite but service was extremely slow and they kept forgetting things like cream, cups, etc. My sandwich was pretty good but the menu says “beans AND coleslaw” but read closely as it says “paired side” based on the kitchens choice so you’ll get whatever they decide. Nice patio, indoors and pastries were good at least. We were a larger group so 15% tip was mandated but wouldn’t be what was deserved sadly. If we’re back in town, not sure if we’d give it another try.

Matthew Zic

Good breakfast/brunch place with good food. Great tater tots, and a decent eggs benedict. Service was a little on the slow side. I’m pretty sure our server was the only employee in the whole place, but maybe that’s just how it goes when you head there as the season is winding down and it’s a Monday morning.

Davis DeMille

I had a good meal, enjoyed the bowl. It didn't feel like they were handling the rush well though. Felt like mayhem in there.

Amber Hart

Three of us had lunch out on the patio. The atmosphere was nice and there was a musician playing. However, the service was poor and the breakfast was overpriced. I had to walk up and ask if someone could come serve us. Our server seemed more interested in putting her hair in the perfect bun than serving people (spending around 10 minutes doing so in front of all the guests which is very unprofessional). We had to ask for napkins, were not offered refills on coffee and our meals took over 40 minutes. We all ordered “the Italian job” which is literally tomato sauce and bacon on two small pieces of toast. It tasted good but for the price I would have expected more. Probably will not be back.

Andréanne DeRive

Friendly staff and great concept which is the best part of the place. The food is a little bit underwhelming, but the feel of the place makes it worth it!

Cris Baets

Went for a simple eggs breakfast which was competently cooked to order with a particular highlight on the tater tota replacing hash browns. Plating and service were pretty poor, with the server never showing up after dropping off two takeout containers at our dine in booth. Eating from a cardboard box and zero actual service at dine in is what takes away two stars. If you're a large group this place is probably fine, but on your own or with fewer people it just feels as cheap as the box the food was served in.

Jason Farrugia

Great food menu and drinks.

F F

Such a cute little café on Main. We were so impressed with the flavor of the breakfast poutine, like an explosion of deliciousness. Highly recommend it.

Maryse Bourbonnais

Their popcorn is good! They have a good selection of beer too.

Kim Howson

Was there on a Friday evening to partake from El Taco food cart that had a "pop-up " there that evening. The tacos were amazing and the draft from The VIC was great. Lovely to sit at the outdoor cafe and enjoy a summer evening.

Cole Lepine

Good food and completely covid safe.

Darryl Griffioen

The Vic offers an amazing atmosphere with a unique and delicious menu! My go to is the breakfast poutine - cannot get enough - but everything else I've had on the menu has been exceptional! The owners are caring and hardworking and the staff are always positive and upbeat. If you are venturing to Prince Edward County, this Instagram worthy restaurant ought to be first on your list!

Sal Pirro

Great food!! Excellent atmosphere. Very busy so be patient.....well worth the wait.

Emerald Meadows

This is a so so place to eat, service was just OK and the prices were a bit high. I detest high priced restaurants with only so so food who try to make it on ambience. They cater to a crowd looking for gluten free vegan food. I was looking for a hearty breakfast and they are an avocado and toast kind of place. Try the Lighthouse Restaurant if you're looking for filling and tasty food.

Wade Friel

Good little spot, we sell enjoyed our breakfast.

josee Chapman

We had a lovely brunch today at this Vic. We we're a party of 6 with 3 kids 3 Adults and they'res something on the menu for everyone. Such a FUN atmosphere, incredible food, and lovely staff. Will be back again!

D Laing

Great Staff! Great Food! love the innovation to a drive-in style cafe during covid. Thanks for being around, VIC DRIVE - IN!

Patty Townsend

A delightful little place with fantastic service and very good breakfast. My friend and I were there for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. I had Eggs Benny and she had avacado toast. Both dishes arrived quickly, were very fresh and really good. And instead of the same old home fries, I got lightly spiced tater tots! Tater tots folks. All breakfast should come with tater tots. We will be back.

Emily Lockhart

Genuinely the best veggie burger I’ve had in my entire life! I’ve had a lot of veggie and non-veggie burgers in my time, and this was phenomenal. Every element was perfect, from the bun to the fresh avocado mash, seasoned mushrooms, homemade onion crisps, their delicious vegan burger sauce, and the beyond meat patty. I wish I’d taken a picture, not only for this review but just so I could remember it ???? The ambiance is really nice, modern and bright and colourful but still really cozy. Service was fantastic. Will be coming back here from Toronto for sure!

Melissa D

Burger was very good and juicy. The tater tots were delicious and had this amazing seasoning on them. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it was quite a long wait to order

Simon de Haerne

Very nice third wave coffee shop. On a hot summer day their E&T (Espresso & Tonic) is very refreshing.

Suraj Parwani

If you are in the area and do not eat here... you wasted your trip!! Amazing breakfast food... tater tots and eggs benny was fire

Diana M

Very cute aesthetic. Food is okay. Customer service is okay. Took +40 min to arrive and they got part of our order wrong. Tater tots and coffee were the highlights. Waited an 1 hr and 15 even though expected wait time was 45.

Tamara D

Loved the golden latte (turmeric) and the avocado toast.

Sam Dorey

The food is good but the wait is long and the reservation process is less than convenient

Mark Farnsworth

Great breakfast and good service with a cool retro diner vibe.

Beth Ferreira

Delicious, healthy food! Friendly fast service and a good variety of drink choices including some enjoyable local craft beer, wine, tea and coffee selections.

Arina Kharlamova

Wonderful food that exceeded our expectations. So great to have vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast. And the owners are super lovely, the decor is modern diner chic, and the overall vibe is absolutely killer. 10/10 Oh, AND the coffee is delish.

Alex Gurevich

Very nice place, amazing food, stuff and place itself, ????

Paola H

Loved the aesthetic! Food also very good with something for everyone. The inside is fairly small so may have to wait but we went during the off-season and got seated right away. Huge patio area open in the summer

Adam St-Pierre

Excellent burgers! Staff is very nice. The menu is short and simple. Everything on the menu is well executed. Congrat to vic’s who found a way to deal with covid without compromising it’s true essence.

Triya Vadgama

Rated one of the best places in Picton! Does seem good! Tots were tasty but I wish they were a little more crispy and the cheese sauce was less watery... will definitely return to try other vegetarian flavors! Definitely worth visiting if you're in Picton!

Brad Dishaw

Delicious rice bowls. Nice spacious patio for al fresco dinning. Kids items.

Jessica Pease

Charming little cafe with delicious, healthy, and reasonably-priced lunch options and friendly staff. Sat on the sidewalk patio and enjoyed vegan cheeseburger rice bowl, Moroccan soup special, and a hot cocoa and sour cherry hand pie for dessert. Everything was super yummy and all tasted homemade (especially the hot cocoa). Another stop here will be on the to-do list when we visit Picton again!

Michael Schäffer

Do tater tots need to be in everything? Lovely staff. The food is okay. But the tater tots are omnipresent!

Roma

It's a modern diner... Food is a bit pricey but very good, filling and portions are sufficient. Lots of good things on the menu.. There may be a wait time of about 10min. Servers are friendly. I'd recommend the burgers and the breakfast.. Kid friendly too.

Cray Miranda

Burgers are definitely home - made, the sides area hearty and their patio is large. The only complaint I have is that there are way too many Yellowjackets around. I know it's natural and they do have traps but having the garbage bins so close to the tables exacerbates this problem.

Jules Fern

Not enough good things to say about this place. The ordering online was seamless, then we pulled into a spot ten minutes later and someone came out with our order piping hot. Paid right there by credit at the card door. Staff was insanely friendly, gave our dogs a good couple of head scratches and thanked us for choosing Vic’s. We shared the breakfast poutine ($14 but HUGE) with tatter tots and a fried egg and got 2 sprinkle pancakes ($6 each) for our pups. All of which was devoured instantly. Posted a photo of our meal on social media and immediately had folks asking me where the hell I got that?! Will definitely return, hopefully not on a social distancing note as the inside looks sooo so cool and retro!

Chris Bigler

Breakfast for Dinner...Ron Swanson approved. The Queen's Big Breakfast hit the spot, and the kids were huge fans on the chocolate milkshakes and tater tots

Onur Oztekin

Amazing burgers, must try if you’re passing by Picton. Hotdogs also good. Can’t say tater tots were the best though or I was unlucky to get the burnt batch somehow. Still deserves 5-star.

Sharon Neuman

Great new place with great food, wish dish size will be bigger for the price you pay

Veronica Wong

Great burgers, awesome tater tots

Cory Contini

Cold service, dirty table, high prices, low quality. Not sure how this place is still in business. Definitely avoid the rock-hard Eggs Benedict if you have to go.

Aditya Joshi

What an amazing vibe in this place.. great service and great food!! Not huge portion sizes.. Definitely recommended!!

Sherry Westwood

Not celiac safe. For a restaurant that advertise’s as gluten free and states they have separate fryers and cook areas I thought I would be ok. I haven’t been in this much pain in a while. Service was extremely slow, took 1hr15min for the food to come out. Everyone else enjoyed there food though and it has a nice atmosphere.

Michel Marcheterre

Really really great breakfast - and low carb too!

Allysa Olding

The tots!!! So good.

Gordon Lucas

Really takes itself too seriously. Terrible service and overpriced menu. Decent food but for the tots side.

Nigel Mendoza

Very charming spot, great service and delicious food that will help grow your food bebe

Jodi F.

Good ole diner. Cappuccinos , Eggs Benny, camp chilli and banana smoothies on the patio. Dogs welcome if on leash.

Maddy Warlow

Went to The Vic one morning when staying at Sandbanks, as recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint! We did the “drive-in” method since we had our dog with us, but the chill music and nice breeze was perfect. We ordered the breakfast poutine, and banana choco chip pancakes with sausage. Both were delicious - the breakfast poutine was one of the best we have ever had, the tots are incredibly flavourful and cooked to crispy perfection. You get REAL maple syrup for the pancakes (which is a rarity these days) and they were wonderfully fluffy and huge! We will definitely return next time we are in the area, and perhaps eat in the restaurant due to the awesome decor and good vibes we had!

aleksandra dukic

Amazing food and service. Loved their breakfast sandwiches the most. Had a breakfast there three days in a row!

Jamie McGarvey

Adorable little cafe! The food was phenomenal!! I had the vegan bowl and the tofu was perfectly done. Great menu, coffee was amazing. New favourite place in Picton!

Blake Whiting

This café is great for anyone needing a gluten-free, vegan, low-carb or a kids meal! Vic also works well with large groups!

Darcy Aitkens

Excellent service and tasty breakfast. Benny and the Jets was a hit! The Queens Breakfast is huge, good to share.

Dan Lynch

This place is awesome! The staff are so fun, and happy to be serving. Very clean, very safe and tasty.

Andrea Dawes

We heart The Vic! The ambiance and decor are fun and welcoming, as are the stellar staff. They make us feel like we are part of the family, which we really appreciated especially as we settled into our new town. The colouring pencils and placemats occupy young and old, and the food comes out super quickly. Lots of fun menu options for kids (sprinkle pancakes!), and yummy vegetarian options for us too.

James O'Byrne

Loved the decor, very Instagrammy. Good food super fast service. The tater tots tasted awesome.

Jeff Gibbons

Not sure about the other food...but don't order avocado toast if you are expecting any avocados here. $$$$ for a half an egg and some greenish yogurt that is supposed to be avocado

Jennifer Litke

The Vic Drive-In has created a fabulous space with a retro feel and delicious food. In the midst of a pandemic, they have instituted a flawless food ordering system, their patio is covered so hou can dine rain or shine, and the wait wasn't significant to get in. If you don't want to get out, it's super easy to order from the safety of your car. They come and take your order when you are ready and then bring it to your window in completely compostable containers.

Amanda N

Mandatory 15 min to 35 min wait, even when there are empty tables Place is lovely, great patio! My latte was good My avocado toast was not Burnt toast Very little avocado Hard poached eggs Over all I’ll try again, always hopeful that they will do better next time

Rob McLellan

So far both times here have been excellent. Tried the GOAT burger and the chocolate and vanilla milk shakes and they are delicious!

Laura Bianchi

The whole experience was great. Clean space. A lot of character and good quality food. The menu is all you need. With many variations for vegetarian and vegan included. Perfect for brunch and some very good more “lunch” options. We had Drive In Bennys, a bowl and of course pancakes. everything was delicious!

Candi cAc

Such a cute place! Thank you for our brunch today. We are from out of town & happy we were able to try you guys out!

Faye Moxam

Great food and great decor. Love this place and the service is super fast.

Stephanie Cheung

The burgers were good, but the tater tots were delicious!! Definitely get the tater tots.

Joe Martin

Great food and funky decor! Great prices and a unique menu. The breakfast menu is really tasty and Wednesday's offers a 2 burger special for couples. Close to the Regent Theatre so a great place for a pre movie meal.

Arthur Wu

A great brunch place with lots of options. The social distanced dining options was great too. Service was a bit limited because of the pandemic, but I would come by here again if I'm visiting Picton.

Karina Asmar

Their cheese burger tote tater was delicious and enough for 2 people.

Brenda M-Flores

Good food, love the place and the service.

João Júnior

The people here are incredible! Also, here I ate the best vegan poutine in Canada.

Michael Jiaming Xu

A bit pricey compared to the portion size. Watch out that the bill includes tips by default so I double tipped... they didn’t remind. Food tastes ok. Place is cool.

Candace An

Extremely cute and trendy ambiance inside. Definitely instagram worthy! We ate inside, the patio was full and therefore had a bit of a long wait for our food. However after we asked how long it would be, the manager brought out free snacks and cookies for our hungry kids! Very thoughtful and much appreciated! Breakfast was great - the breakfast poutine is fantastic - and the servers were very nice and polite.

Meghan Dresar

Our server was pleasant but the food took over an hour and they had no gluten-free options. It was over priced for the food we received. Small portions and the food wasn’t the greatest.

Christine Peral

Definitely not worth the hype. Food was not that good. They barely gave us any ketchup for the fries. Had to wait so long to pay and then again to get our food. Wouldn’t go back.

Simon Casino

great eats and good prices! get the breakfast sandwich!

fairygirl talk canada

Was not a big fan of the food or drinks offered there but service was good

Nick Grosskleg

I had the Vic burger and it was fantastic. Very fresh and well dressed, paired with a chocolate shake and it was great.

Erin Campbell

Really good burgers and tots! Well priced.

Mandeep Gabhi

We stopped by this place after a sunny day at sandbanks. And boy did the food do justice to the eye catching place. The service was so prompt and our food was out in no time. The chocolate milkshake and cheese tots are to die for!! I also ordered myself the Vic burger or something. I wish it had a little more dressing/sauce in it but that's my personal preference as I like my burgers super saucy. But the patty was nice and juicy. I loved the food and the people here. They were so sweet and nice! Can't wait to come back and try the other stuff.

Sami

That's what you want from a snack bar. Good burger and tatter tot! Sad part is that we eat in boxes even when you eat there.

Julie Mercier

The aesthetic is bright and cute but the actual food was very underwhelming with minimal thought or care put into it. This place could be great, but they need to care more about the food they send out to customers.

Sara Dunbrook

Slow process to be seated because you order and pay at the front before sitting down. We figured this out so were ready to order but others didn't which caused a wait even though they weren't even half full. The host was super friendly but we didn't actually get any table service so that was awkward tipping before even knowing that. The food was fairly quick to come out, everything served in takeout containers including an eggs Benedict with hollandaise-soaked fruit. The tots were good but my egg sandwich was just plain sad. It was definitely one egg with about 3.5 strips of red pepper (probably from a jar). The egg didn't even cover the whole bun. Tasted okay but for $17 after tax and tip... No thanks. Also: they could probably benefit from removing the open garbage bin from inside their patio to help with the wasp problem.

Ilias Benz

Very friendly service. We wished we found this place earlier in our trip cause its the only place in Picton that you can get away from greasy foods ;) The breakfast was quite healthy. And the espresso top notch.

Colin Milroy

Stopped in for Valentine's Day. I'd love to post food photos but.....it was so good that the food disappeared before I got a chance. This plate originally had the 2 burgers with salad and tater tots with 2 beers special on it. I'll definitely put this on my regular dining rotation

Shauna Lynch

Beautiful cafe located in Picton. The menu is great, the space is charming and the decor is very nice. Great place to stop when passing though Picton.

Netta Perry

Nice for a light snack, coffee or just to relax. Not recommended for breakfast, too pricey for a boring small meal.

Marzena Walkowiak

Great place open for breakfast on Saturday morning in the Sleeping Picton. You feel like in a real European cafe. The coffee is good and staff is very friendly and interesting.

Michael Tan

The tater tots are to die for! Amazing service and amazing food. Must come if around PEC.

Cassandra Greco

Really cute - they went all out with the decor! Pretty good vegan options.

Jenna Moritz

Very family friendly but on the expensive side and small portions. Our food was very salty, would not come again

Meghan S

My boyfriend, our puppy and I made a stop here along our tour of Prince Edward County, after visiting Sandbanks. It sure was busy on a beautiful Saturday evening, and opted for drive-in service, to avoid the crowd. Very easy to drive in, order food and have it delivered directly to the car! Alternatively, you could enter the restaurant and they'll serve you on their outdoor terrasse. We sampled a few varieties of burger, tater tots and drinks and we especially enjoyed the quality and freshness of the burgers and buns. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair! We'd gladly return on our next visit.

Alexandra Martinho

Although the restaurant was very cute, we had a member of our party who is celiac. They completely dismissed the very serious dietary request. They brought her meal with breaded items on it, after we apologetically sent it back, they simply took the contaminant off and brought the same thing back. After the third try, they came back with an uncooked burger patty. She was unable to eat anything through our meal and they still charged her for her smoothie! Very poor knowledge of serious dietary restrictions and further poor customer service !

Neil Dobosh

Fast service, great atmosphere. Never had a meal fall short of my high expectations.

Galen Nuttall

I'm a dude who loves a good, filling brekkie and quality espresso. The Vic Cafe has both, hands down. The atmosphere is awesome. The owners are friendly, and the staff aims to please. I highly recommend it.

Erica Harrold

Had a mostly great experience! There was a ton of food options, lots for vegetarians and vegans as well which is really nice to see. I had the chicken sandwich and curry tater tots. I was surprised that the tots had actual curry and not just the seasoning, that was a pleasant surprise, nice and hearty. The downsides to the experience were that it took a bit to be noticed and seated when we first arrived and it took quite some time to get our bill after we had finished. We sat with empty plates for a while before I finally got up to find a staff member and ask for the bill. For some reason there was a table having what appeared to be a small band practice a few tables down from us? The music was nice at first but after a while it started to get old and was kind of strange that they had chosen a busy diner to practice at? Overall, good food, really cute environment, okay service.

Paul McInnis

Really need to put more effort into the quality of the food considering the prices.

Danny

Nice Patio and great drink selections but food is very bland and small served on takeout plates reminiscent of Freshii. Very slow service and very expensive. I would not recommend spending any money on the food. However, very nice for a coffee or smoothie on the patio.

Christine Berube

Fast, so yummy, super decor, and delicious coffee. This was one of the best finds on our trip to Picton. Try the hamburger bowl!

Anthony Leong

Great new bigger location and bigger more varied menu. Their tater tots in the all day breakfast are the crispiest and yummiest I ever had.

Candace Battig

Disappointing experience. They say a pictures worth 1000 words so here's my garden benny. Cold untoasted un-buttered English muffin with cold cheese and a Luke warm (hard?) Poached egg.

Paul Harris

Lol. No way the reviews are real for this place. Sure, food is what you'd expect for a diner. Saw my food sitting in the window for a good 10 minutes before our waitress figured out it was ready. I can't say that I've ever waited 25 minutes for a drink at a diner before, let alone a 45 minute wait for food. It's bacon and eggs... Lol. The place was at half capacity when we got there and still waited for 15 minutes out front. Seemed like everyone working was in a panic. Why? I looked around for nearly an hour at the other patrons, they all had the "I'm starving and hung over" look to them (myself included) colouring on children's place mats to pass the time while swatting the flies off my coffee cup. Could over hear the sighs while all the tables were bare waiting for our simple drink orders. Loved how I had to ask for milk, a spoon, and cutlery for my breakfast. Shouldn't it be already on the table? Really wasn't a fan of "well, we have a table of 9 that is taking up our time".... That's not our problem. There was easily 10 people working. If you can't handle a large location and big groups, don't book them if the staff can't handle it. I think training is needed for your restaurant staff if you plan on surviving in Picton. Like the rest of your small city, too many places try too hard to be the next cool/trendy place. Maybe pay more attention to order times and less on your tacky decor. Was our first time and last time. While I was paying my bill, the pleasant young lady at the front asked if we'd be returning since we're staying a few days in Wellington and just laughed and said I'm surprised if anyone would come back after waiting an hour+ for breakfast. Even the woman paying before me was bitter about the god awful wait times. Plenty of other places to go for breakfast in Picton. Should have read the reviews first.. At least you tried ????

Nathan Hooper

Solid breakfast poutine, hollandaise was that perfect balance of rich and light. Super cute vibe, a modernist take on that old school diner vibe. SOLID espresso too. Great service.

Michael Hofman

Couldn’t be happier. Service food price and atmosphere were all perfect for our breakfast this morning. I ordered an iced Americano and the avocado toast. My girlfriend ordered a chai tea latte and ricotta toast. Both of our open faced sandwiches had unique and perfect variety of flavour. Garnished with fruit that was ACTUALLY fresh. We could barely finish our breakfast and both commented that you’d never get this quality and taste for the cost back in the city. Will absolutely be back next time we visit wine country.

Upkar Brah

Just got to our cottage and went to the Vic, open a little later than most places here. I've been a vegetarian for three years and this was the best vegi burger I've had to date. My husband loved their cheeseburger too. The food was not fancy or anything but it's SO good! The tater tots really must have magic dust on them they were amazing lol. Mango smoothie was delicious. Service was great. It's an school diner with an eclectic happy vibe.

Marty

Food and coffee were incredibe. The atmosphere is charming and quaint. The staff are kind and accommodating particularly the chef. Highly highly recommend. Will be going back when in picton again.

Anouska Dias

The cutest little restaurant is PEC. Came here with my girls for a bachelorette and the food and staff were very nice!

Andrea S

Overpriced and our food was still frozen. Not cold actually frozen.

Tim Ford

Great burger. I had the Blue cheese. Plenty of flavour. Staff working their socks off. Considering everything, it was great service.

Meagan Gallacher

The Vic went above and beyond for our bachelorette group. Some of the best service I have ever experienced. They will accommodate any allergy with pleasure and it will be just as good as everything else on the menu. Absolutely a 4 star place.

Faisal Tahseen

Everything on the menu was great and looked wonderful. It even had our non vegetarian friends excited. The decor is artistic and casual. The staff was very knowledgeable of all menu items and made good recommendations. The food was prepared fresh and was delicious. The downfall, 3 of the 4 diners that we were with found hair in their food. Would recommend looking at hairnets for the staff,

Sultan Aldrees

Pancakes were burnt and the bread that came with the avocado toast and the Shakshouka( although mentioned in the menu being sourdough) wasn’t sourdough. Service was fine.

Emma XXX

The interior design was cute, but the staff weren’t super professional. Just kind of loud and not very efficient. We had burritos which were filling, but dry and flavourless. Could have used some sauce inside and maybe some guacamole rather than just sliced avocado. Also would have appreciated some sautéed veggies for an $11 burrito.

Terry Adams

Cleanest brightest functional family restaurant best breakfast I've ever had in my 63 years good job

Tim Ferguson

Food was delish. Driving through Picton and decided to stop here for food. Definitely a good decision.

karen raw

Went to vic's for the first time tonight, we were very excited to go after reading some very good reviews, the manager working the door was very polite. We ordered a hot dog and a Bala burger, unfortunately when we received the food the hot dog was cold and raw. We politely asked the blonde server if she could heat up the hot dog do to the fact it was un-edible, she very shortly responded "We have no microwave, sorry" she made no further efforts to fix the hot dog and she didn't even offer to make a new one. Since leaving the restaurant I have been puking for 3 hours straight due to the un cooked meat. But Bala burger was well done. Very disappointed in the service.

Nisha Shirali

Lovely little brunch spot, great service and yummy food

Barbara Thompson-Walker

Very expensive. Food comes in a box. I had AVO. Barely warm. Toast soggy from run off of fruit. Can’t even get water on the patio unless you buy it. Won’t ever be back

Kayll

This place really catches your eye, very cute vibe. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. We had a group of 10, and 8/10 did not like the food. McDonalds breakfast is a step up from what we ate. Very disappointing, I don’t understand the hype for this place, the food was not good other than the McCain tater tots.

Jeff Dunlop

Great food and a fun atmosphere. The patio is a great location. The kids loved the place too! I got the 'breakfast all day' platter called "The Bert". Terrific tastes and value!

Julia Yacoub

AMAZING decor, great food, fun and friendly staff. Their patio is cute and you can use their chalk to draw while you wait for food. The owner was out and about seating customers - a sign of great service!

Jonathan Provencher

Don’t be fooled by the amount of positive reviews. Most of them were from the time that the Vic café was a nice little place that had great coffee and cool snacks. Now the place turned into some kind of “modern dinner” and, despite ordinary reviews from friends, we went anyway thinking they were exaggerating. The outcome of our lunch turned out to be way worst than anticipated. Some people here mentioned that it was overpriced. OMG... I couldn’t believe it. Yes, it was a bit pricy but the problem was more what was (not) included in the plates. Items on the kid menu include a $7 spaghetti that only has butter and salt (NO SAUCE). The kids burger was also $7 (which is ok for kids burger usually) but DID NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING... just bun and meat!!! The poor server was embarrassed to tell us that the tomate was an extra, so was mayonnaise. She was also embarrassed to tell us that at least ketchup was included. YIPPEE! She was very nice but you could tell she was used to these eyebrow-raising reactions from customers. I challenge you to find another restaurant on the planet that will charge you extras for a tomato in a burger. In sum, I could go on and on... but you get the idea. There are much other options in the area for the same price or less. Good luck!

Mallory Greene

The healthy smoothies are expensive, which is fine, but they contain concentrated juice. When i discussed this, the response seemed to be dismissive. You cannot possibly expect someone to pay almost 12$ (with tax and tip) for a healthy drink and have tropicana in it.

Matt Carter

Something for everyone! Great people, great food. It just feels like home.

Morgan Bender

This used to be one of my fav restaurants prior to COVID but that avo toast they have now needs to be taken off the menu

Renato Bellia

Good coffee, very interesting breakfast bowls, nice atmosphere. Menu on web needs an update.

Tomas Guidolin

Very family friendly. Make sure you have a look at the menu ahead of time as you order on your way in.

Clare Tries

Excellent service, delicious avacado toast, and amazing coffee!! Will definitely return!

Holly Mccausland

Very bright and clean. Food was very yummy and reasonable price. One thing I was not happy with was the service as nobody came to check on us asking how the meal was or if we needed anything and it took well over an hour to get the food.

Ben Rosenblum

Extremely tasty burger. Bright friendly environment. Top notch friendly service.

Vishnu G

Very nice ambiance. Excellent service. We ordered vegetarian food and it was very tasty

Monika Schwaerzler

Sweet and original tiny cafe with nice atmosphere, fresh food, great coffee and service. Highly recommend!

Emma Da Diddit

The cafe is small and the food is pricey. However it's probably the healthiest meal you're going to get outside the home, and you will feel welcomed here.

Mr. & Mrs A

the chilli cheese tots were sooooooooooooo goooooooooooood Loved this cute place, so beautifully decorated :) greatfood and great customer service.

Andrea Salerno

Fast service and the best egg Benny ever with guacamole like version and awesome hashbrowns. Cheerful looking place. Simply awesome ???? ????

Je Pil

We went for breakfast. Only sandwiches available, so the pictures are not accurate. 2 sandwiches, 2 coffees, one hashbrown and tips, $28.24. If the food was delicious it's acceptable. However McDonald's and Tim Hortons do way better.

John Walker

A few growing pains but I’m sure they will get ironed out Creative environment , spotless and inviting- Good Coffee Creative menu/ not sure about the commercial fried potato nuggets which compete against the , freshly prepared foods ! Great if service staff could be a little more engaging with customers and get to know us - just like the old Vic Cafe Good portion sizes and terrific breakfast items All in all confident like the previous Vic Cafe it will succeed as it works through growth challenges We will be back

Paul Napolitano

I didnt know what to expect when entering the vic for breakfast. Well ill tell you what to expext amazing food. Its a simple breakfast menu and i think they knocked it out of the park. Cant wait to go back next time i am in picton! Cheers

Caelan Mitchell

Amazing food. Great vegetarian and vegan options! Will be back!

Karen Phillips

Great food. Wonderful staff.

Alex Baccellieri

Amazing food and great service!

Aras Petrauskas

Eccentric decor that's still welcoming, great character. The food was very tasty, I'd give the burger 5/5, the only thing holding this place back are premade things like their tater tots. Definitely worth a look

Amy DiCarlo

After a busy few days in wine country, we came to The Vic for our last breakfast before heading home. I read so many great reviews ahead of time and was excited to go. We ordered standard breakfast fare and ate at the bar. We enjoyed the food and the vibe. When it came to paying our bill with the host she was extremely rude. As I was paying she was talking to another customer and ignoring me and I felt invisible. As I left I said bye to her and she still ignored me. The service tainted the meal and I wouldn’t go back.

Mary Carter

My "go-to" spot for a latte and a treat. Even when it's busy the staff always take the time to make you feel welcome.

Debbie Fraser

Excellent service food was great and hot milk shakes are out of this world

Dave Perkin

We sat out on the patio, restaurant was full. We it was cool and rainy out but we were offered blankets which most of the patio seemed to enjoy. The menu is different but in a good way. Lots of different options even for people with allergies. Food came quick, was pretty good but wasn't the hottest. I think they are used to people paying with cards as on our way out I handed the guest book back with our receipt and cash in it, as the guest book doubles and the check book, and was told I hadn't paid on the way out the door?. Pretty good experience, food is something a little different would probably give it another try.

Kevin Peterson

Pricey for what you get. Good coffee, some good snacks. Nice spot in the summer on the patio but lots of wasps!

Penny Markland

Mothers day brunch to go was delicious. Thank you for making it possible to have a great meal on a special day when we all have to stay home. Amazing????

Megan Watch

Excellent food, fabulous option for dietary restrictions. Lots of outdoor seating. Service was very friendly but essentially non existent once we got our food. Despite that I would still absolutely recommend and would definitely go back!

Kyla Lutz

Lovely patio! I had the tater tot poutine and it was delicious and filling, and I loved the vibe of the place! My first time going and hopefully not the last!

Jean-Phlippe Ethier

That was my first time yesterday for breakfast and I will definitely come back with family next year. Food was awesome with a very good and dedicated service. I highly recommend this place

Pamela Diggs

Perfect little spot in Picton Ontario, with a whimsical atmosphere! First time here and was not disappointed. Service was polite, fast and friendly! Breakfast was delicious, fresh and presented well!

Justine A.-Lebrun

Service was terrible. We waited to be seated for over half an hour even though there were clearly places on the patio and at the bar. When we finally sat at our table, we waited another half hour. No one came to take our order or even offer coffee. We tried speaking with one of the many servers around but no one was paying attention. When finally someone came to our table, she informed us of the delay in the kitchen before we could even order anything. I understand the place can be busy around the lunch hour but the staff is not able to handle the affluence. I lost more than one hour to finaly leave the place without drinking or eating anything.

Krista Kankula

We ate here twice this past weekend, once for dinner and once for lunch. We so appreciated all the vegan options and both times we visited the food was delicious. The service was great and our food came out in a reasonable time. The portion size on the vicky was unreal! And of course it's a decorated in such a fun and creative way too!

Heidi Bechtold

It is our last day in PEC for our 1 week honeymoon stay and this was one of the best dinning experiences we had. Our server Gillian was fantastic and we really felt we were taken care of above and beyond. Right away she offered to charge my husbands phone when we couldnt scan the QR code (cause of a dead phone). I was having a bit of a random sneezing fit and she ran over with extra napkins right away without even asking. She was helpful with recommendations for food and deciding what to eat! The suggestion to do a half chocolate, half vanilla milkshake was amazing. She also gave us some awesome tips on place to visit in PEC. The food was super delicious and unique. The tater tot poutine was HUGE filled with so many toppings and the Drive In Benny was excellent. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone to experience!

Lovely people, amazing rice bowls I could ever have and a very cute decor.. just try it!!.

Andy Terpstra

Fun vibe with great food and generous portions.

Pomme

A really good breakfast! The décoration is original, like a modern drive-in. We took the pancakes and the avocado toast: both were good! I confirm that they only have regular coffee, but it’s a good coffee.

Lynn Trapnell Cormier

Clean, friendly cafe with attentive staff. Vegan options, presentation, branding were amazing! Welcomed our 2 dogs on the patio and brought them water to drink.

terrible experience all together. staff was so rude , and so unhelpful. please teach them some manners. food takes for literally ever !! iced latte was so disappointing. i would not recommend to anyone, don’t go. ruined my day. maybe stop trying to look aesthetic and make your products actually worth the ridiculously expensive prices.

The Vic drive-in is the kind of place you wish could still exist everywhere. Simple, quick food and milkshakes with sprinkles. Given that it's the first weekend of reopening the patio seating since COVID, the staff made everything fun and smooth, and we felt very comfortable. Even though probably things are very different behind the scenes, they totally owned it. It wasn't too busy, so they let us park our bikes in one of the drive-in spots!

John N

Hands down best restaurant for breakfast in Picton!! The food was incredible and the portion are huge!! Would recommend to anyone and would come back in a heartbeat!!!

Andrew Notmyname

The decor leaves much to be desired but the Garden Party Burger with Chili Cheese tots was to die for.

Javed Ahmad

Omg had this for take out and the tater tots and pancakes THE BEST. Soft fluffy and perfect sweetness. Just WOW

Mufasa Adams

Literally nothing special at all. "Lets put high prices on average food we dont even make in house!" Save ur money and your time.

David Ferraccioli

Very fun spot, nice friendly staff and food the way you like it and a low price. Can't ask for much more

Thomas Forget

Good service and good coffee. The breakfasts were not very good.

Francis B

Simply amazing!!! Decor! Food! Those delicious little potato tots. Oh, and that latte was perfect!

Malcolm Stewart

They advertise that they serve an all day breakfast... which can be interpreted accurately in two different ways: the first is that they will serve you breakfast all day long, and the second is that the portions are so generous that one meal will last you all day long. Oh... And the food is really good too.

Sammie

Cute place with really friendly staff. Interesting and unique menu options. My plate was good, I got the cheeseburger bowl which was just lentils, brown rice and burger toppings. Definitely something different but also nothing special.

Melissa M

Modern diner. Great for kids. It deserves 5 stars just for having tater tots as a side! Delish!

Alexander L

I really wanted to like this place but, as other reviews mention, the staff really need to work on their attitude — def won't be back :| We went up the street to Angry Birds Rotisserie and had a fabulous lunch there. To top it all off, the staff was so lovely (at Angry Birds Rotisserie... just up the street).

Katherine-Elizabeth Lariviere

Took 2 bunny bowls for my girls. They were 6$each with following description: choice of 2 veggies anf 1 protein on a bed of rice + a juce box. They charged extra for both veggies selected and the chicken. So following that logic a bunny bowl with no extra is a bowl of rice. Waitress did not want to give me my bill, I had to insist to see it. Probably did that bc they noticed we were not from the region so beware.

Matt Lottes

Beware, 18 percent "gratuity" charge is automatically added to bill. Otherwise, service was friendly and fast. Food was ok, although my daughter's spaghetti was just a plate of noodles with no sauce and a few flecks of green. Flies were also buzzing around us as we are.

Hayden Lam

Super friendly staff and a great amount of seats indoors and outdoors! Super nice decor and design, and also has the drive in dinner feature! The prices are pretty good and the milkshakes are fantastic!

Kevin Gill Wilson

Great burgers and the craft beer was tasty!

Paula Ley

Food was awesome!! The service was top notch, very friendly and safe environment. Its our go to for lunch when in Picton. Great Job!!!

Kyle Nixon

my Burger could have been better but the tater tots were very good

Juju Zzang

One-of-a-kind well decorated diner. However, this wasn't enough to give it any stars as the taste of food is the most important experience when you go anywhere to eat. Especially as a tourist! Got seated right before the crowd coming in. Ordered some drinks, iced chai and fruit smoothies were delicious however smoothies were overly priced at $8.50. Then we waited for over an hour on our food to come out, our 2 yr old was slowly losing his patience. Though after asking where our order was, we were given a complimentary blueberry scone and cookie which were delicious. When the mains finally came out the taste was nothing special, more like food you can just make at home and the breakfast poutine was just overly salty with no veggies to balance it out. Service overall will need to be improved as the waitress we had didnt really tend to us till the end. Dont think i would go back unless compensated and guaranteed the taste and service has changed.

calvin fleming

The food expensive... The service not amazing. The food regular but not amazing for the price

Patti Mackenzie

Bright fun atmosphere. Menu selection is amazing. Our food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend this place

Travis Hill

Just finished lunch here, amazing hamburger make sure you order one with the special sauce. My wife had a breakfast and had the nice surprise of a bowl of pineapple with the breakfast. Owners have done a great job of decorating also! Will go back again for sure.

Jay Chapman

Great place with friendly staff. Diverse menu including numerous vegetarian options. Chalkboards and chalk provided to pass the time when waiting for food or drinks. Modern and fun decor throughout.

Lauren Ghent

The Vic's new location, menu, and vibe are the perfect mixture of quirky modern diner meets fresh and tasty eats. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options, and generous serving sizes. More seating than the old place, including a couple big booths for groups. Still a great cup of coffee, but now they also have beer and kombucha on tap!

Yolland Lamar

Great blue cheese burger and excellent service

Thomas G

The pastries are delicious and the lady we met at Saturday’s Wellington farmers market was so lovely! We also enjoyed brunch on Sunday. Yum yum!

Anamika Narula

Loved this 80s feel here and the fact that they have drive in order placing. Super cute and quick service.

Kaitlyn Lee

Really cute spot. Great decor. Went on a summer Sunday and had to wait for about 45 mins for a group of 6, which is fair. Food was good, nothing special besides the tater tots. But very affordable. Overall good experience

Adam Vaz

The hours are annoying in Picton. Why are things closed in the middle of the week? We did not get to try this place because of it and we were really looking to it

Jerry Bokser

Great comfort food and shakes.

Alexandra

Great place to have brunch. Went with our 2 months baby and service was quick and very friendly. The food was also very good.

Jordan Hannah

Came with a group of 6 people, all who had different eating preferences and dietary needs. We ate! Each one of us found something to our liking and ate until we were stuffed. The vibe was cheerful and service was good. A true modern diner, a great find for the small town. As someone who is well traveled and has food allergies, I was impressed. I am glad to know there's a place I can eat well at when visiting Picton. Thanks for the great meal.... the price was right.

Sarah T

Almost every corner of this restaurant is Instagram worthy. The Avotoast I had was just okay. The servers are nice and friendly.

Claire Hazan

Such a fun and colorful environment down to every detail like the sprinkles in the sugar. The food was delicious and had both straightforward/ simple and creative breakfast options.

B Cooper

Extremely expensive. Alright as a reply to the owner, I would of been a customer if the price of a 5oz burger wasn't 17 dollars. My co worker and I went in at lunch time Monday to get a couple burgers for lunch but didn't expect to pay 32 dollars plus tax for us to have a few burgers. Before you mention it comes with tots, there is no option on the menu for just a burger and regardless thats still expensive for a burger and fries.

Jamil Daya

I have no idea why this place is rated so high. Food took 30 minutes to make. It was burnt, and they got my family's order of the party that came after us wrong. They had more than half their patio empty but still wouldn't seat us. They said it was a 30 minute wait despite no one showing up for those empty tables.

sheen daniel

Absolutely wonderful; had a lovely time with amazing service and food! Will definitely be back!

Rhys Groen

A great environment and drive-in feel but the food left much to be desired. The burger tasted like one you could make at home rather than one you find at a classic dinner style place.

peter lam

Walking past the terrace on a sunny day I knew I had to have my lunch here. Great location in the middle of town. What a dissepoint it was. I tried the almanac white wine.....don't. Really don't I drink all the wine but left this one in the glass. The food was oke , but why o why put it on a plastic plate ?? And plastic cutlery what I'm I? 5 ? Even the super friendly and helpful staff doesn't want me to come back here.

Sami Alkanafani

Loved the people, place and menus. They are not kidding when they say the menu is good for all - vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers, low carb etc. The design/setting is great!

Elaine Jasvins

Awesome gluten free food! Service was great.

Connie Peebles

Way overpriced for breakfast. Had Benny & the Jets, which was Eggs Benedict with mashed avocado on the English muffin. There was lime in the avocado which did not taste good with the eggs. Never saw our server after we got our meal - had to ask another server for more coffee and only got half a cup at that. Paying the bill at the front cash was a joke- overcrowd, slow. Won’t be back.

Julie Wilson

Amazing food. Love the gluten free and vegan options. Beyond sausage was a nice surprise!

D Fact

I ordered the vegetable curry with brown rice which was $16.00. We sat on the patio so my food was served in 2 8 oz containers. The curry looked more like an overcooked oily soup. Such a terrible disappoint considering the great reviews.

Jill Maisonneuve

What a fun place. Had the burgers and they were good. Breakfast and beer seemed to be the hot seller today! We will be back for sure ????

A Google User

Not impressed with their plant based portabella burger. The mushroom was barely a third of the size of the bun. Went with a bunch of friends for early dinner, i left hungry!
