This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Cafe.
Solid coffee shop. Wish there were more. That being said, I also wish the tables were a bit less cramped and that the Wi-Fi was more accessible. I loath having to ask for little pieces of paper that only work for one device and for only a limited time.
Cute coffee shop. You'll get a code for wifi. Seems a little empty, only due to construction on Elgin Street. Great place to study/relax.
Great little independent coffee shop. Nice pastries and very good coffee. Only down side : no WiFi on weekends ;)
My morning coffee was even better with a friendly professional hard working staff
Amazing coffee. Great little spot.
I’ll give it 4.5. You will be hard pressed to find a better coffee place in Ottawa. It offers a rotation of single sourced coffees. Rarely hit and miss - staff that don’t know the coffee they are selling or actually forget to make my order when it’s not busy at all.
Sandwiches are really good. Specialty coffee was not hot enough. Service/vibes not the best. But it is a really cool place for having coffee and working on your laptop.
Great coffee, and great match's latte. Soy and almond milk available as alternatives. Scones and brownies that will highlight your day. No, I do not have shares. I just like them. I make detours for their coffee.
Best oat milk latte I’ve ever had! Super friendly and welcoming staff. Had a scone that was a bit dry but overall great experience for the best coffee in the city!
Nice and small. It's a good place to just sit and read a book or study
Good cortado and wrap, but they almost caused me to miss a meeting. Their internet is literally dial up speed. They should either fix that or announce that they don't have wifi. Edit: I have to reiterate how bad the internet is. It's virtually unusable. I love their baristas and the space is nice... So just fix this! No internet OR good internet. No in-between. (As a comparison I often went to Pikolo's in Montreal even though they didn't offer wifi and they were often packed.)
It's kind of small but it feels comfortable. The coffee was really nice.
Average lattes, good food, lovely staff, limited seating
Had the Nutella hot chocolate. Tasted okay, was a little thin. Expensive for the amount.
Friendly service, great coffee and croissants.
Literally like one of the only places in town to buy good coffee. Sad but true.
I went to use their washroom, a man was in there before me and he peed on everything. I had to go so bad I cleaned the toilet, after I told staff about the bathroom and they quickly cleaned it. The thing though they dident offer me my drink for free for I had yet paid for it. I think it would have been the thoughtful if they offered it to me for free for cleaning their toilet. I'm not blaming them for the loser peeing all over the bathroom, just for the experience after knowing what I had just gone through in their Establishment. Their coffee is really good though.
Great atmosphere for working or reading. Back has couch and chairs, front has tables. Loved their cappuccino, the espresso beans are nicely roasted. Not as bitter or dark as typically found in an espresso roast. Price for snack and specialty coffee is around $7-10
Amazing coffee with freshly baked bakery. Blueberry muffins alone are worth visiting this place everyday.
Great coffee experience. The layout is tight, but the interior design is well done. I had a cortado and a breakfast sandwich, both were excellent.
Nice atmosphere but always too busy. Can't ever get seating.
Top notch coffee. Nice quiet atmosphere.
Excellent food, coffee and atmosphere, best breakfast I've had in a long time
Best butter croissants in the city, hands down. Wonderful small coffee shop with excellent drip and flat whites. Cozy back lounge area and friendly staff!
Contender for top coffee in town. This place has a cool vibe, whiskey and wine centric bar, great lunch and nibble foods and staff cool enough that they don't feel the need to be snarky or pretentious. A great coffee place run by great people. What's not to like!
Great coffee with an awesome atmosphere. The music they had playing was perfect.
Hip little coffee shop. Full selection of hot and cold drinks. A few little snacks, muffins, etc.
Fantastic coffee, in my opinion they are the best in the city for coffee. Nice snacks too and service is always good.
Good coffee, but less seating at a table than before the move across the street
Nutella latte was good but I didn't taste much of the Nutella
A little "cozy" as some may say, but the coffee is great! If someone is eavesdropping on your conversation just make it weird so that they flinch!
If you love coffee this is the place to be. They have so many different kind of drinks that I cant even keep count. Very friendly staff and they know how to treat clients well. I also love their non-traditional decor that make the ambience wonderful
The place is great, small and has great coffee, only problem not many places to sit and draw as a artist it's not to comfy but a great place for a first date. Recommended to bring your partner and sit at the little tables. Overall enjoyable little coffee shop
Good coffee. Decent price. They don't have wifi on weekends I believe. Maybe they don't have it ever. Who knows.
The physical space is a bit small (and may be difficult to navigate for anyone with mobility devices - there isn't a lot of room to turn around near the cash), but the drinks are absolutely fantastic. The menu is wide enough to please everyone without being overwhelming, and the staff are very accommodating with dietary needs and inquiries. Definitely recommend the Almond Tea Latte! They also offer 25c off if you bring your own mug.
Good coffee; good pastries, good people; good vibes. Give it try, buy-don't be shy. Even Bill Nye the Science Guy expressed a sip of coffee in the words of "My, oh my".
Location: I think it's in Wellington Village but... I'm not sure. Street parking is available, but I didn't notice if it was metered or not so pay attention to the signage. The place: It's got that 3rd wave coffee vibe going on, with wooden tables and the like. Partly minimalist, partly urban. I liked the space and the tables weren't crammed together. This place also serves alcohol, hence the 'social affairs' descriptive in its name. The goods: They use Pilot beans, which I'm generally OK with. I ordered a Cortado with almond milk and enjoyed it. It was a bit more bitter then I normally like, but this Cortado was solid. My friend was a big fan of the latté, and her kid liked the chocolate chip cookie. She didn't offer me a bite so I couldn't do a taste test. Kids, today! Service: OK. Price point: I think the Cortado was $3.25 which is on par with most places. This place is a great alternative to Starbucks and I'd say, worth checking out if you're in the area.
Disappointing. Unfriendly barista who treated me with disdain. The coffee was fine, but nothing spectacular. I place high value on customer service and will not return to a place where I've been treated so poorly. The coffee is just not worth it.
I am all for hipster style coffee houses and local cafes! But as my friend says, this coffee house has identity problem. It's neither a classy and luxury coffee house like Bridgehead, nor a full blown hipster coffee house! And the espressos tastes fine, but nothing extraordinary!
Great coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff. This café is a real gem!
good taste and cozy place!
Love it. Staff extremely polite and helpful! Muffins and coffe are delicious!
Good hot chocolate and fresh chocolatini. Internet access on demand. Nice staff! The only downside is that it is a bit small, sometimes hard to find a table.
Nice place good strong espresso, expensive.
Absolutely love this shop. Good coffee, great staff.
Nice ambiance, and friendly staff. Although they could add more espresao beans in their store.
Seems to be pretty hard to find a hip cafe in Ottawa, but this is one! Great atmosphere, better coffee.
Solid little place that focuses on the coffee. The seating is limited (not the kind of place to set up camp with a laptop, but that's a good thing), and the service is friendly and speedy.
Came here the other morning for a cup of coffee and some breakfast. + cute little shop with ample seating in the front and the back + free wifi up to a few hours, I think + cold brew was good, good size + got the bacon breakfast sandwich and it was good too + friendly staff
Great coffee, my usual spot for cafe before work.. super friendly staff and a decent place to hack at some code but for shorter time intervals..
The staff are always super friendly and they really know their coffee.
Great coffee, very nice decor, and friendly staff. A great place to hang out or get some work done!
Now located across the the street and absolutely lovely vibe and new decor. Same great coffee!
Best coffee in Ottawa. Offers good selection for sale of small roasters.
A cute little cafe in the central of the town. We went here in January 2nd. Love the vegetarian egg sandwich and I order the cafe au lait. So so, not like the best coffee.
Better than average cortado. Coffee was carefully prepared.
We came on a Sunday morning on Family Day weekend. The space is modern with a very nice atmosphere and decor. The latte was great as they used Pilot coffee beans. We had the carrot cookie sandwich with cream cheese filling (to die for) and the artichoke scone, which was flaky and delicious.
Coffee beans change all the time! Flavors are great! Almond latte is the bomb. You gotta try this place its just perfect.
A place will some of the best coffee in the country. They just moved across the street to the west side of Elgin. Now a more spacious spot including a little lounging era at the back. I had an incredible Americano with a fresh croissant. #killercombo
Not a great experience here; was not asked for proof of COVID vaccination to dine inside and they had no wifi (was very surprised as I’ve never been to a coffee shop with no wifi). The barista was very nice though and gave us quick and friendly service.
The place is on the small side, but the coffee and staff are wonderful!
Lovely espresso and rich mochas with great lounge area in the back. Really lovely design and good customer service. Protein bar was also quite tasty
Great coffee, wish they had lattes in larger sizes though. Awesome atmosphere and service. One server even gave me a piece of chalk when I asked (apparently no one sells chalk in the winter). Wonderful experience every time!
Consistently great. Amazing rotation of top notch Roasters.
Excellent coffee and good pastries!
Best third-wave coffee in Ottawa. They also sell some great beans for pourovers.
I was a regular here when it first opened but haven't been in the area for a while. I went back today and got a flat white. Best in the city, by far. (Their cortados are also excellent) The atmosphere is great and Alex and Fadi (and all their staff :) will make your morning (or afternoon or evening or whenever you drink coffee). I work in Hull and I'm considering going out of my way to get my morning coffee there again!
This is a nice little cafe close to the Parliament. Must try if visiting Ottawa. Their cold brew tastes good.
Good location with nice music and atmosphere. Staff were extremely friendly.
The atmosphere is nice but the coffee is really bitter tasting
Hands down best latte and cappuccino in Ottawa. Very pleasant atmosphere and great choices for snacks and breakfast. Favourite coffee shop.
Sweet atmosphere and great coffee!
Relaxed and cosy atmosphere, free 2 hour wifi included with purchase. Amazing fresh scones
Would give 3.5 if could. Not a bad place, but nothing amazing. Heard scones were good, flavours of the day did not entice me to try. Maybe next time. Small place, kinda dark. Staff nice enough
As a broke-ish student always on the hunt for a good study spot: this place is definitely a bit small—good if you only have a laptop, but don’t count on having space for books. Great iced latte but served in a plastic cup even when specified “for here”.
One of the best coffee in Ottawa. Staff is friendly and pleasant. UPDATE: Definitely the best coffee I had so far in Ottawa. Bought some of their expresso coffee beans...the scent and taste went into high gear...an experienced on its own.
Always lovely service, incredible coffee, and divine baked goods in a cozy environment and a great location!
Awesome cold brew. Good atmosphere at a wicked location. Staff were nice but didn't say much. I only had the opportunity to take some cold brew to go, as recommended by a friend.
Super friendly and fast service! Great vegan options. I’m so happy I stopped in here out of the blue on Elgin street.
Great flat whites and unsweetened matcha lattes - just the way I like them. Alternative milks on offer. However, their flavor lattes are extremely sweet, way too much sugar for me! A solid coffee shop with baristas that truly know how to make a good cup.
Coffee was excellent but the space itself is a bit small and cramped feeling. Getting a seat by the window makes things a lot nicer though!
Amazing coffee, relaxed atmosphere and decent vegan options. Coming here was a nice way of spending our Sunday morning.
Cool decor and great coffee! Can’t wait to actually be able to stay a while once lockdown is over
great coffee nice people, the kind of atmosphere you want for a good coffee
I enjoyed their coffee as it tasted similar a bit to Morning owl. Was lovely and the atmosphere had a good vibe to it.
Very good green tea latte and coffe. It is a bit pricy ($3 for espresso, just few cents more than the lower quality espresso from Starbucks, which I think is overpriced) , but you pay for quality!
Got my hopes up super high when this thing opened in the train station as it clearly was meeting a demand... but the place is consistently out of food. The staff are milenials who don’t seem too bothered nor empathetic to this issue... $5 coffees though ????
Good drip coffee, friendly staff. The place is also nice and they make matcha latte!
Good quality coffee and tea, but the place is a bit crammed. You must ask the staff for a password to the wifi.
Excellent coffee and great baked goods. Very friendly staff.
We'd prefer to support a local business rather than the Starbucks across the street, but there's never anywhere to sit at this coffee shop. It's always full of people nursing a coffee and making the most of free wifi. This Ministry should do what the Hintonburg location does -- offer jonly an hour of free wifi to improve customer turnover. We keep going in, finding nowhere to sit, then heading to the Starbucks. Not a great business model.
A great place to study or chat! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, and has a decent amount of a seating for a cafe downtown. Be aware that you might be seated beside very close to strangers if you’re someone who prefers a lot of personal space. The staff is very friendly and the prices are what you would expect out of a typical coffee shop in Ottawa. I got the spicy chai latte, and while it was good, it was not spicy. Would definitely come again and try something else!
Way above average coffee. Friendly people, great prices and great desserts (not overly sweet).
The coffee was great, interior is nice but there's definitely not enough sockets to charge your laptop if you're studying for a long time.
Great coffee. One of the rare places in Ottawa to get a nice latte.
Love this place, they always have their filter and espresso of the day listed with the flavor notes. I love trying all of their different blends and am never disappointed with a cup!
It is a cozy place and I thought I'd try a local Elgin street establishment . They are pleasant people. However, I did not purchase a coffee because they do not have a dark roast. They only have full bodied to light. What coffee shop does not sell a dark roast coffee, which is what i prefer. if you enjoy other coffees please try it, seems like an awesome little establishment.
Some of the best coffee in town. They are always changing the beans up so there is something different.
I’ve only been to the Ottawa via-rail location, but I am IMPRESSED. My vegan falafel wrap was so good I decided to immediately write this review. They also have a fair variety of vegan & vegetarian options. I will definitely eat here again!
The best thing about this place is the view and that it’s open after 5pm on Sunday. Poor quality cappuccino with almost no foam. Extremely uncomfortable side so-called tables and poor interior in the front. Croissant was ok. I guess it’s lack of competition during extended hours..
A very nice place to meet up and catch up with some friends! The decor in the back of the shop sets a really chill atmosphere
Everything you need and no frills. Get the pb and j cookie with your drip coffee for a great day everytime
Good coffee, though not the best out there. Nice and small place.
Great coffee. The best baristas in the city with a selection of great roasters available. Might be the only place in Ottawa you can get a single origin espresso.
So far, my favorite company for local coffees in Ottawa. Service is great, but it’s just not my favorite flavor of coffee.
Nice coffee shop. In the summer they have the best cold brew coffee in town.
Small little hole in the wall you may miss if your not paying attention. Wayyyyy better than Starbucks, Second Cup or any other big chain.
Coffee was excellent as was the food. They do amazing chili and like coconut balls which sadly I ate before taking a photo and wish I had the recipe! Cody little venue good for a book or doing work on your laptop
Great place to study, internet is a bit slow though compared to other cafes
The best coffee in Ottawa. Plus a good selection of bagged beans from Sam James and Propeller. Staff is awesome and friendly. Try the carrot cake cookie sandwich.
Their drip coffee is delicious and paired with some of their baked goods make a great couple. The wooden themed interior creates a modern natural feeling inside.
Nice casual coffee shop with free Wi-Fi and a smile.
The coffee was good but the ambiance was bad, the music was too loud and annoying, the staff seemed bored and were always on there phone.
As an Aussie, I think pretty good coffee. I had latte, and milk was nice an light and well frothed. Sandwich was great too. Roast pork and caramelised onion. Highly recommend. #wifi #powerpoints
One of the better stops for coffee, especially if you like the new style pallet of coffee (high acidity and fruit flavors)
One of the best small coffee shops in Ottawa with a rotating bean selection.
What can I say, amazing tasting local coffee.
Fun little coffee house in downtown Ottawa. They also serve Phil & Sebastian coffee, which I a huge fan of. Not a ton of seating but a nice alternative to the bigger coffee chains.
The staff are super friendly, food is amazing and fresh. The prices are a little high for the simplicity.
Great coffee and a great vibe. It can be difficult to find a seat at times.
A very cozy place to have coffee!!! The coffee is so good
Really neat little cafe, their maccha and chai latte's are so good
this is my kind of café shop! nice wooden tables (however not too much seating; mostly for individuals), but great food options and they serve Sloan tea, my favourite! Yet to try their coffee, but I'm sure it's good too!
The Ministry of Coffee has become a staple of the community. Undeniably great coffee with excellent people working there, I don't why one would consider not coming here. Always a pleasure and a nice treat.
one of the Best coffees in Ottawa and a great staff that knows about coffee, total pleasure!
Great little coffee shop, good baked goods.. music is a little loud
Cute little coffee shop, great atmosphere and selection. I highly recommend checking out their larger location.
Best selection of beans in town, I find the espressos pulled a little too tight, and too sour.
Good place to get a very good coffee. The space is small and, during winter, cold draft can be felt in the coffee. Unlike the wellington location, they don't serve beer.
The place itself is great, but be wary of thefts. Between the hours of 20:30-22:30 my friend's purse was stolen. She had kept it beneath her stool - she didn't want to hang it on the coat hooks far away from her, and at the high table in the middle there aren't any hooks. Anyways just keep an eye out!!!
Cool place with excellent coffee. Recommended.
The best and most consistent Ministry of Coffee location! The coffee is amazing every time, food is good, and staff are friendly!
Wait a minute. This isn’t an official government ministry !
Great coffee! I regularly visit to see their rotating selection of beans that they bring in from all over to bring home.
One of my favourite coffee places. I always try and go whenever I am in town!
Great coffee shop. Delicious scones and coffees.
Great coffee and freshly made healthy sandwiches. Love it here!
Best specialty drinks in Ottawa hands down.
More competitors popping up but still the best coffee in town.
This place is a nice quaint small coffee place. It is nice that they have seating and free WiFi in case you want to stick around to do some work, but there are only a few tables available. Pro and con as it keeps the place quiet but can get in the way of sticking around. Their hot cocoa is delicious!
Pretty good experience. Staff was really friendly and the seating options are nice. I recommend the mocha iced ????????♂️
Stopped in today and was pleasantly surprised to see two young coffee enthusiasts who cared more about quality than buzz. They use a rotation of high quality artisan roasters for both drip and espresso. Instead of jumping on the 'go local' bandwagon they choose local products when they are high quality and make sense. They expressed that they would love to feature local roasters but that currently there are none that fit the bill for their values nor are of the quality they choose to showcase. Personally I must agree considering they had such immaculate roasters as Phil & Sebastian of Alberta and Anchored from the east coast of our lovely country. I ordered a V60 pour over of the P&S Kiawamaruru and, though I didn't watch the brew, the cup was excellent. They also offer a 500ml chemex through a kone3 as well as syphon, machine drip, as well as the various espresso drinks that are common these days in North America( my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her latte). The guys were friendly and happy to chat when they had time. Love to see these types of shops pop up. Keep it up guys and good luck!
This is my go to joint. Staff don't have any hang-ups, they're not out to prove anything, except perhaps for the hope that you'll enjoy and appreciate the amazing quality of coffee and espresso they serve! Some people complain about no WIFI on the weekend but I think it's a great idea! Do we really need wifi EVERYWHERE we go these days? The idea of promoting a community space / social gathering with real face to face connections is fantastic, and sadly, isn't adopted in nearly enough places around Ottawa. I've never had any food here, so can't comment on that. This is my favourite local coffee shop, just wish they were open a little later some nights :(
Great coffee, great pastries and good service.
They pull a decent espresso. The acoustics aren't great, it's quite loud.
Great coffee and baked goods. Cozy spot for a coffee with your best friends.
I really love the ambiance here at ministry of coffee. I am a frequent customer of the ministry on Wellington. Today I met a friend there and enjoyed the place. All tables are taken almost at the beginning of the day. The drinks are really good the snacks and sandwiches are amazing. I absolutly love the ministry protein bar.
Great coffee and cute place to stop by.
Wonderful location, experienced and friendly staff - and fabulous coffee. Also recommend their cookies.
Absolutely wonderful shop with a friendly atmosphere and tasty selections! Try the nutella latte or a lemon square! We will be back.
I dare say perhaps the best espresso in Ottawa? And a great selection of take home coffees, too
Decent cafe that is quite peaceful, with a comfy lounge space in the back with some delectable coffee and deserts. Stop in for a treat, you won’t be sorry!
Great selection of beans to buy. Good snacks. Nice staff. The Elgin location is a little crampt but nice.
Great latte. WiFi was OK but not great (needs password from staff)
Great lattes and Americanos. This new location is cozy and well set up, and the staff are friendly and quick. Good place to grab a coffee for the road or catch up with a friend or colleague.
Edited my review. Yes. Great coffee. But they refuse to make a triple long espresso. You can get a double or quad but not a triple. Everyone else can do it. Also what the hell is the wifi here? Really seats are very uncomfortable. Small room.
Great local coffee shop chain with great food and tea! Why would you ever go to Starbucks when Ministry is an option!?!?
Incredible coffee with great presentation and at an affordable price. Very cozy location as well, and right on Elgin. Great for a first date or a meeting with a friend. Their pour-overs are great.
Cute little cafe with beautiful art. I had the Nutella latte which was yummy.
Really delicious coffee, great loose tea selection as well. Also very friendly! I generally go for flat white or tea, and both were lovely.
Could use more seating. Prices a little on the high end. But pleasant place overall.
Tiny spot with a lot of lattes on the menu. Nutella latte was very tasty. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Definitely a good latte spot.
I wish they had a bigger space but still love there and their coffee! Baked goods are also yummy
Good hot chocolate, good tunes and a comfortable chair in back, with a book. Nice vibe in here.
This place knows how to make a latte! I wish it was bigger but the foam was spot on. Recommend the nutella one.
We like the lattes and the scones weren't bad. Scone choices were savoury and Blueberry. The savoury one was better but both were good. The premises were quite small and there was free parking nearby. This place is a great alternative to Starbucks and I'd say, worth checking out if you're in the area.
Coconut tea was nice, and good decor/atmosphere!
Great coffee and location. Love their cappuccino and desserts.. everything is great quality and service is always friendly.
Best coffee and baked goods in town. Their chicken wrap is also fantastic.
Excellent coffee. Excellent service. Good ambience. One of the best in Ottawa
Had a cortado. Wellington location. Awful. The coffee was watery and there was double the milk required for that type of coffee. Jive hipster anti social laptop cafe. Won’t be back.
Flat white was meh. Cookie was meh. You only get wifi for two hours... it was nice trying it but not worth coming back for...
If I could give it zero stars I would. A friend and I were sitting at a table with a ton of books, laptops, (being students) and after spending about 40$ combined, we were asked to MOVE for a group of 4. This isn't a restaurant? Did they have reservations? No. We ended up just leaving, we couldn't believe they actually asked us that. Ive never asked (being a barista myself) a customer to move unless the customer had special needs and needed the designated table specifically for wheelchairs. Will never go again.
Great little coffee place
Coffee is usually on point, pretty busy in the afternoon, not all laptop zombies though.
I had their lemonade, can't remember what flovour was.
Coffee amazing like always specially there vanilla latte. The vegetarian breakfast sandwich not great at all. :(
Small place and the day I went it was quite crowded and loud, so I couldn't really hear my date.. Also, was sitting so close to others that you couldn't help but hear their conversations.
Warm place to grab a coffee and read a book or get some work done! Usually my go-to spot to finish up work after leaving the office! Awesome Nacho’s too!
Good coffee, good food, the interior is also nice.
Great service, coffee with two shots of espresso feels amazing
The lattes and baked goods at the Ministry of Coffee are always great. This coffee shop normally rather busy as it is rather small inside but service is always fast and friendly.
Love this coffee shop. My new go to place.
Great coffee, service, and environment! This place is great whether you're looking to sit and catch up with friends, read a book, or take a coffee to go. Will be a regular stop for a mid-afternoon pick me up for sure :)
Great sandwiches for lunch but get there early as there are limited quantities of each type of sandwich. Highly recommend the BLT!!!
Very good capuchino, one of the best in the town
Nice coffeeshop in Ottawa great variety of coffee from Canadian roasters and manual pour over served !!
Good atmosphere, helpful staff and a wide variety of coffee. Personally I cant justify spending $5+ on a coffee but for those who can, definitely have it on your try list. Went there as a 1 time thing.
If you are a coffee lover, this place is worth visiting. Friendly service and a very high quality espresso. I recommend it without a doubt.
Knowledgable and friendly baristas. Great espresso. They make their own syrups and have some specialty drinks.
Nice little coffee shop but not a lot of seating if you're planning to stay and work on your computer for a while.
Really great place, carrot cake cookies are a personal favourite. If you happen to get served by Sinead at the Via you are lucky. Really knows her coffee and always gives great service.
Okay people, this place is incredible for coffee. They definitely know what they are doing here and have no complaints. Go here for a real cup of coffee and be forever a convert to actually GOOD and PROPER coffee.
An actual fun Ministry in Ottawa. May their Ministry last forever. The Minister of Coffee is a genuinely good dude.
Excellent coffee. Arguably, the best coffee shop in Ottawa.
Decent roasted coffee, but drinks served often taste like hot water. Variable quality. Same with baked goods and breakfast sandwiches.
Always amazing. Feels like home. :)
Very good coffee
Best coffee I've ever tasted... not that I've had much coffee besides Starbucks, Bridgehead and Second Cup. Their lattes, capuchinos and lattes were pretty good... although nothing to write home about. They are the only place I know which has oat milk, which is great. Music was a tad too loud, not enough seating and it's a pain getting the wifi code every-time.
I love this place very much! They serve the best coffee!
The Ministry of Coffee moved to: 274 Elgin Street, Ottawa directly across the street from their original location at 279/Elgin Street, Ottawa. Inside the coffee house it is clean on the right side there is a long bench with individual round tables for 1 person. On the left there are 2 tables with 2 chairs. The serving counter is on the right side with a list of names of specialty coffees the staff can make. And in the back you will find some deep chairs to sit back to enjoy the atmosphere.
A small cafe with the friendliest baristas! Tables are well distanced, and the almond tea latte was nice :)
Cool atmosphere but their iced coffee was awful
It was my first time there I would recommend this place and I will be going back. I had a cappuccino and it was one of the best I had, also their BLT was fancy and delicious
Nice space with a more secluded "reading room" in the back. Their flat white was very nice.
Their cold brew is really strong, like REALLY strong. I had a cup in the late afternoon and had trouble sleeping all night. As a result my morning wasn't what I expected and I was late for work!
While visiting Ottawa we were looking for a really good coffee - and we found it at the ministry of coffee! A 15 min walk from our downtown hotel n - gladly made each morning for an exceptional cappuccino, and a very decent breakfast sandwich as well.
From my first experience here I gathered that the location itself has been a coffee shop for some time through various ownership. Its name was recently changed from "Hava Java" under the new ownership. It is a nice space with warm décor and staff, and a regular customer base. They make all of their syrups in-house from natural ingredients and have a unique Nutella latte. This is definitely what I would call a locals coffee shop. I anticipate becoming a regular while I'm in Ottawa.
Hosts are sympathetic - coffee was good and hot chocolate also - both are not 10 but definitely do the job. 8/10
Coffee was great. Great atmosphere. Peaceful place.
Best coffee in Ottawa. Their selection of coffee will make you rethink what coffee should taste like!
Very nice coffee shop it's excellent test The staff was very good
Love their coffee and chocolate chip cookies! A nice cozy nook with (timed) wifi and plugs.
One of my favourite Elgin St coffee shops!
I was very happy with the service and the coffee.
Amazing coffee. Great ambience. Truely worth a visit if you are new to Ottawa.
Good drinks, but service is sometimes lacking (I.e barista forgot about order, but made no apology/didn't really acknowledge the mistake)
Always a great experience at MiniCo, the only place with a specialty drink I simply can't resist: the Nutella latte ???? yummy teas too, not to mention the FANTASTIC service, and a nice cosy atmosphere I can't wait to enjoy again someday! Thanks endlessly to the wonderful baristas who make those delicious drinks perfectly every time!
Nice little place, Wi-Fi policy is not friendly. Not sure if others have abused it but having to refresh a code from the counter every two hours doesn't feel right.
