This place is the home of the most delicious lattes in the city. It has ample seating for chatting with a friend or great tables for studying. It's on a nice little side street which makes parking possible. And has such a hip yet friendly vibe. 10/10 would recommend.

Great coffee. I visited recently on a Monday morning. It was a relaxing experience. The cafe featured a calm atmosphere with a spacious interior and smooth jazz playing on the speakers. The staff is friendly as well.

Hands down the best coffee in town! I've been going for years and putting all my friends onto Happy Goat coffee. They sell their beans, which I recommend buying. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! They know exactly how to grind up your coffee based on how you make it. They also know what type of coffee would be best suited for you. If you're unsure, just ask them!

Hard to find at first, but a fantastic establishment. Good coffee, good food, attentive staff and good social distancing measures.

Roland Aubrey

Nice cozy coffee shop, cappuccino second to none! Also had a fantastic square that had nuts and peanut butter in it, perfect after a long ski.

Patrick McNeill

Great coffee, lots of (international) bean options too. When we first came to Ottawa it would have been an easy five stars, but the past …

Ridiculously Good. I met up with a friend that recommended this place, how have I never been here before? Since my visit, I've mentioned this to most everyone I know here in town... I hope they give this place a go, it's just fantastic. Great job Team Happy Goat!

My favourite place to get freshly roasted coffee and an oat milk cappuccino. If you like coffee you will not leave disappointed. Staff is very knowledgeable and skilled baristas

Always amazing service, great coffee, and seating available! It’s a bit dark for studying though, and a lack of outlets. Perfect for catching up with friends or a coffee date!

Yoshuna

Friendly staff that provided awesome service. Truly the best chai latte I’ve ever had! Tried the veggie sandwich here and it’s delicious. I also enjoyed the casual atmosphere. It’s a great place to study or chat. I highly recommend this place for students!

I live to discover these spots. When you get there it doesn't see like much. But it's what's inside that counts and what feeling you have when you drink their coffee. They have great food too. Nothing fancy but well balanced flavors and so heartwarming. I recommend this spot if you are looking into the local scene. Often have events and gatherings. You feel part of a community even if you're from somewhere else.

Stopped by on the way from Toronto to QC. Service was good but the espresso based drinks tasted burnt and were terribly watered down.

This happy goat location is my favourite! I miss live music nights when covid wasnt a thing :(

The best coffee roasters & coffeeshop in Ottawa!! We come accidentally by googling "best roasters in Ottawa" and then serendipitously we met the Head Roaster, Hans and his partner Clyde. Then, until now (its been 3 years since our first meeting), we still build relationship even though we are located far away in Indonesia. The Happy Goat team, Ahmed & the other is also wonderful coffee people! They are very friendly, passionate about coffee and put their coffee seriously. Hans is our favorite roaster, we love to taste the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Kenya & Sumatra coffee that he roast.. delicious coffee that they really source it directly & ethically from the origin country. A must visited coffeeshop if you come to Ottawa!

Andy Church

Had a splendid morning getting work done with some cool background beats and a tasty brew. Will go again.

Great coffee in a slightly eccentric and cozy environment. The staff are very friendly and will make sure they get your coffee the way you like it. They also host a lot of special events like live music and viewing Sens games. My favourite place to get espresso in Ottawa. (Just wish they would do espresso and tonic as a regular menu item. ;) )

Emmett “Wolf's Bane” Hill

Beautiful industrial style coffee shop tucked away in Hintonburg. Great selection of beverages and snacks, along with super courteous and helpful staff. Aside from standard coffee shop operations this place also hosts events of all sorts for all different tastes for all different walks of life, if you haven't been here before it's a must try. It may become your new favorite spot; I know it's now mine!

Such a kind barista helping me today - had no idea what I wanted and they made me the perfect drink that worked for my food allergies :)

Lea Albrecht

This is the spot if you want THE PERFECT Chai latte - I literally just come here for that. It’s so creamy and I have yet to find a better one in the Ottawa area. Huge plus: they’re dog friendly, so my doggie and I make our way here for a walkie almost every week. Love this spot! It’s always busy on weekends, so you might not get a spot to sit down. EDIT: THEY ARE NOT DOG FRIENDLY ANYMORE. THEY CHANGED THEIR RULES 2 MONTHS AGO. What a shame :(

Coffee at my house = Happy Goat. The G is my perfect blend. My local grocery store sells smaller half-pound bags, but come here to buy a pound of coffee beans and you get a free coffee or espresso. When it's warm out, ask for an iced Americano and it's a perfect reward!

Scott Burton

My favorite go-to places for delicious coffee and treats!

Saquib S

Whenever I try a new coffee for the first time, I always have it black first. I really enjoyed the flavour and didn't end up adding any cream even tho I usually don't drink black coffee. If it is good coffee, it doesn't need any whitener :)

Yun Yang

Love this place - great coffee, nice layout, very relaxing

Georges

Another bloody delicious veggie crunch and espresso. They both came at the same time and didn't last 3 minutes. Even more appreciative of the atmosphere and everyone working there! See picture below.

I’ve been visiting this cafe for few weeks now and it’s a hidden gem (or I wasn’t so aware of ????) The staffs here are friendly, and the cafe is spacious. The drink and desserts are tasty, and it’s a chill aesthetic place to study/visit. They also have a piano at the back you can play!

Eugenie

Tried Americano. It tastes smooth. Its interior has a unique style. It was interesting to see coffee beans being roasted. The reason for 4 stars is bread. Chocolate croissant didn’t taste fresh. Maybe because it was in the evening. It would taste better if it is heated warm for serving.

Coffee is still one of the best I know in town. Drinks were good, would go back again.

I have been ordering Happy Goat Coffee Beans to my home since the pandemic. I am an avid espresso drinker and recently they changed their website which caused some confusion. Normally I ordered espresso which would arrive in whole bean this time I actually made a significant order with 5 varieties of coffee and it arrived ground up. After communicating with the Laurel St staff and explaining the confusion they not only exchanged my order for whole beans but they stated that changes would be made to the website to ensure that orders would be more concise. This is a company that cares about their clients. I have to tell you most importantly that their coffee is amazing. I have ordered from other companies across the province but I have to say I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t enjoy. Forward is my Fav!!! Thanks for the great customer service and customer Care!!!!

If there is one thing that the hipster movement usually does well its coffee. Goat is no exception. This place looks like it was created right from the hipster's handbook. In fact I think Webster's should add a picture of the Goat Coffee shop next to Hipster in the dictionary. Everything about Goat was the epitome of anti-corporate from the out of the way old industrial park location, the miss-matching furniture, the customer dogs walking around, the coffee roasting equipment and empty burlap coffee bags lying around, the gender neutral bathrooms etc... like I said it is right out of the hipster handbook. If you are the kind of individual that likes to go out for coffee at 2pm on a Saturday in your pyjamas... this is your place. Anyways GOAT does make a damn good cappuccino! I am not sure it is 'Greatest Of All Time' good but it is damn good. Goat obviously roasts thier own coffee beans which I am starting to see in a few stores around town. Thier beans are sold in a unique brown bag packaging and can be purchased on site. All Goat coffee I have tried has been really good. I judge a croissant by how messy it is and the Goat croissants are pretty messy. Pastries also look like they are made on site? Goat is also set up to sell beer and they have a really good selection of local craft beers on tap. Prices are what you would expect. Nobody is going to happen upon this place while out for a stroll. So, if you enjoy great coffee and go through the effort of seeking out this place I doubt you will be offended by $2.25 med drip coffee and $3.50 cappuccinos. I may head back for a beer next time. They seem like they are set up with a small patio for the summer. I hope there are no hard feelings about the hipster jokes ... cause i will be back to Goat again soon.
