This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Coffee shop.
Beautiful coffee shop with a wide variety of coffee beans to choose from. They let me taste their dark roast coffee before deciding. Definitely will be back when places fully reopen. Also, the cherry lemon loaf is amazing.
Great atmosphere to enjoy a nice bowl of coffee and read the news. An industrial cozy place to think about your day. They make all sorts of lattes/coffees/drinks.
Went here for coffee last week, for the first time. You couldn't tell how big it is till you go in! Amazing things to look at, great coffee!
I love this place. Delicious food. Great coffee. Awesome space with roasting going on right there.
Great coffee and very cool place. Looks and feels like a brewery but with coffee! Very friendly staff and good baked goods. We had a chocolate croissant and a pumpkin muffin and they were both very tasty. Great little pit stop for us to refuel for our drink!
Helpful barista who helped me pick out a coffee blend to give to someone else as a gift. I dont drink coffee so I dont know anything about coffee
Amazing place with fresh beans being roasted. Good coffee and wonderful snacks
Coffe is dark roasted and well prepared, croissant is very oily and the apple and berry muffins are bit sour and is is not cheap though! Maybe will come back for the coffee but not the bakery!
My local Minimalist like to meet here and compare notes over superb coffee in a very functional atmosphere.
Beautiful atmosphere. Lovely to see the inner workings of the bakery. Careful to make sure you get your drink and not someone else's. Drinks aren't labeled too well and the place echos so things can be misheard.
Do not come here during the day without noise-cancelling headphones if you’re planning on working or wanting a peaceful atmosphere. The noise is deafening. Drip coffee is good.
Great space to host coffee adventures. Never know what new coffee they have, but this would be the place to find it. If in Ottawa, Bridgehead is the only place you should get your coffee. And you'll feel good about it too. Everything is fair traded. At this location, they offer tours of the roastery.
Some good organic coffee brewing here. Also the gluten free chocolate quinoa loaf is one of my favorite here. Bridgehead only uses the best quality ingredients and you can definitely taste the difference.
Accessible and good place to go or coffee. Great if you go alone as it is fully supports individual coffee drinking with computers. Tends to be noisy and a bit chilly in the winter. Always great things to purchase.
Love the company, coffee, teas, soups, wraps and cookies!...not sure about the new cake slices though. I miss the carrot cake and brownie with icing. I also miss the bran blueberry muffin that they use to make so long ago.
Beautiful place with a small café built-in, located on the edges of Chinatown / Little Italy. This is also a bakery and is the primary roastery for their coffee beans, so the whole place just smells AMAZING! The free WiFi is very stable but note that it is slow. Nice variety of furnitures: booth tables, high tables, and low coffee tables.... but the quantity of seating is small and the staff seem to struggle keeping the tables clean. There is patio seating as well when the weather is warmer but here again, the quantity of seating is small and patio has no roof so you are sitting out in the sun. Nonetheless, the fresh breads and pastries, the incredible smells.... I would absolutely keep coming back here and here again!!!
HQ of our favorite coffeehouse. Wish there were more plugs. But the atmosphere is nice. Specially in the weekends. Throughout the week it could get a little noisy. But the coffee is great as expected and the food is pretty good. They also serve beer after 4pm. It's the perfect spot!
Short review - Don't show up hear Mon-Fri 8-4 if you wan to work. 2 star if you're trying to work, or enjoy a coffee/latte in a quite setting during a week day. It's too bad these reviews aren't for set times, because I'm sure this place would be more enjoyable if these blasted grinders weren't going. They run at about 78-83Db.. constantly. Also, don't come with a power hungry laptop. There are two, maybe three outlets around. Kind of crappy. I'd review higher if I didn't need a laptop, and didn't mind the industrial coffee grinders running continuously.
The café shares the building with its own roastery and as such is a really cool atmosphere. During the day it's easy to grab a seat, and in the summer they have some outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and helpful and the coffee is great. Lots of choices, and though I couldn't see it on the menu, they do have iced varieties for hot days.
Good coffee and friendly atmosphere !
Great coffee shop, fast service and nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend there Machiatto. My only gripe is the seating arrangement, almost all of the tables are large, 4-person tables that are almost always taken up by one person scattering all of there's items around the table to prevent anyone else from sitting. It is clear people don't like the idea of sharing tables, so why do it? Add more smaller, 1-2 person tables similar to how other coffee shops do. I've gone here for over a year and I can rarely find a place to sit during the middle of the day even with only 10-15 customers in the store.
Best coffee in town! They roast it all right here so you know it's going to be really fresh. If you're looking for a quiet cafe though, this is not your best choice. The machinery makes it very noisy most of the time.
Spacious café with an industrial feel. Usually it's a great place for conversation, however sometimes the machines are noisy. Negative: Four out of four times, my table/seat were quite dirty/full of crumbs. The staff never seem to wipe the tables.
Interesting location.. Main roasting facility, for regional coffee chain distribution. Coffee roasting, onsite. All the great selections, and services of Coffee available.
Biggest Bridgehead I have visited yet. I’m guessing this location is the main area where they do all the food (bread, wraps, etc.) The place is kept clean with free wifi, nice place to work while having a constant smell of bakery in the air. The staff is also really nice. There wasn’t any decaf drip coffee left but the offered me a decaf Americano for the same price.
Great location, service and food/drink.
This is this their flagship location were they do their roasting, don't expect a quiet atmosphere if they are operating. Best ground coffee I've found. Ask the staff for help if you're new as there is a lot of variety in flavour in what the offer. Ham and gruyere croissants are delicious! Wraps and cookies are not as impressive, perhaps if you get them when they're freshly made I hope Second Cup's buyout is not their downfall
Always great latte. Expensive side dish
Clean, cozy and surrounded by a freshly roasted coffee aroma.
The prettiest Bridgehead in Ottawa (judging based on those I have visited). The bakery is located here and cool to watch the breads being made while drinking coffee. Also delicious fresh pizzas during lunchtime (onion&balsamic is my favourite).
Very Efficient and asked every single person weather they were eating in and then asked fro proof of vaccination very happy about that
Best coffee in the city. Any location you will be pleased with their products and I'm happy you can now order using the Ritual app. No more waiting in line if you're in a hurry! BRAVO
As a vegan it is very difficult to be able to have options in a cafe that is not labeld as being particularly vegan. I was pleasently surprised by my options and it was very good (espacially the quinoa/sweet patato wrap). The only thing I …
Very nice place. Coffee is very good. Here is where they roast the coffee beans and also where bread is prepared for other branches, so you can see and smell the process while enjoying your drink.
Great little coffee shop. Lovely ambience. Spacious and open seating both inside and outside. Loved their confections. Recommended visit ????
Bridgehead is always good. Tris location has a wider variety of foodstuffs and the roastery smells great. Not ideal for a quiet meet though since the roasting operations are quite noisy
Great coffee and ambiance. Quite loud with all the coffee machines and roasting machines, but thought it’s quite cool. Pastries were ok, got a croissant and didn’t taste very fresh. Would go back for coffee and do some work.
Best aroma coffee in Ottawa and excellent staff. If you like to watch coffee getting roasted definitely have a trip to this place. This is the central location for all the roasting in Ottawa.
Great coffee and smelled wonderful at this location. This was my first time checking out the main location and I wish I saw this sooner. You can watch fresh loaves baking while enjoying a rich espresso. This however does not help the wallet as you get hungry quickly.
Love the Ottawa-based brand and their roastery off Preston is an awesome place. Amazing coffee and treats as usual, with added bonus of being in the place the beans are roasted and the production happens. Love the tours provided and the newly added beer and wine on tap for evenings is amazing. Seeking the trend in Ottawa.
I'm from Toronto and I use coffeeshops primarily as a study space but also to get a feel for the community. I was recommended this spot once I started school here, and I absolutely love it. I got a solid 3 hours studying and it was great. Also love the giant brewing stations and the diverse mix of customers. The baristas were also so kind and sweet and different. The price is a bit high but you're paying for quality bean so I can't complain TL;DR: This Bridgehead location is great. Highly recommend for its atmosphere.
Coffee and breakfast wrap were absolutely delicious. It's a shame that I wasn't able to eat inside due to COVID restrictions because the decor created such a caffeine inspired atmosphere.
Coffee Review for Sumatran Dark Roast. I've been trying to find a Sumatran Dark roast that I really like, and I've settled on this one. It has the flavour I've been looking for in a Sumatran Dark roast. It's not too dark, though, but the flavour is good. The place puts the roasting date on their coffee bags. They roast quite frequently. I usually do a pour-over or French press, and I see lots of oxygen coming out of these beans, which shows that it's very fresh. Sometimes, you have to check ahead to see what the most recent roasting date is for a certain coffee.
Place is a little overcome by noise pollution. We ended up relocating to outside (which fixed the problem ) However there is a wide selection, very fresh and delicious. Staff us friendly , espresso was a tad bitter. Don't know if it was the beans or the machine :)
Absolutly love the microphone and speaker. As an hearing impared person, this is just the best!
It can be loud when they're actually roasting the coffee but being able to watch just adds to the atmosphere :)
Great place. One star off for selling out to second cup. But this is one of the cooler locations
This is where one of the best coffee chains in Ottawa roasts its beans. Basically it's a coffee shop. But it has a particular flair that makes it a cool place to hang out and have a coffee. Not huge, but often not too busy.
Main Bridgehead location has a unique industrial factory/bakery feel to it. Large coffee bean roasters and pastry ovens dominate the space. High ceilings and open space give it a very airy and spacious feel even though there is not more seating than in an average coffee shop. Great coffee, pastries and friendly staff. Hopefully this place will keep it's unique ambience now that it has been purchased by a larger corporation. Recommended!
The smell of coffee from the massive roasters is absolutely amazing. Industrial vibe, and a place that opens later than most coffee shops in the city.
Nice place... but very small selection and every seat in the place is uncomfortable. Does not feel like they want you staying very long.
Of all the Bridgehead locations, this is one you can't miss. They roast and package the beans here, and you can see the process as well as watch them prepare bread. It's a bit loud, but worth it.
Good staff, good service. Unfortunately it's just abit too noisy for me with all the brewing there up too here.
This location is pretty good -service wise, great staff! There are a couple of things that I don't like about it though: the kombucha, I drink Kombucha for my gut and am not currently eating anything with sugar in it -good thing I asked what was in the Kombucha! They add cane sugar at the end of processing and add carbonation. Also, sometimes the noise is just too much in their. Overall I would go there to get a coffee to take home, but I wouldn't go there to sit and enjoy a relaxing coffee.
Great place to stop by if you're in the area for some great coffee and snacks. Can be loud during coffee production when you're trying to order but a unique experience to watch it all happen around you. It's pumpkin latte season. Go get yours.
A local roastery located close to Little Italy and China Town they have roasting demonstrations, fresh coffees, teas, and snacks. The atmosphere is very nice with the fresh smell of coffee, light music and warm lighting. They have many places to sit so it's never hard to find a seat however I couldn't find a plug for my laptop when I was working there and had to leave when I drained my battery.
Such a cool coffee. If you love smelling fresh patisseries like I do while work on your computer, definitely should check this place out!!
Friendly and casual vibe, lots of space and friendly staff. The usual bridgehouse service. Seems to have a bakery connected directly to the shop. Overall chill place to study. Can get loud at times.
Love these guys so much !! We’ve had a coffee subscription for a year and a half, and they always deliver the freshest beans they have to our door. They offer personalized service, with personal notes and cards. The beans make delicious coffee. Their espresso blend is perfectly balanced. Thanks for being there !! ????
One of the best Bridgehead's. Good coffee, average pastries. Unfortunately sold out to Second (rate) Cup so nowhere to go but down. Fortunately there are an increasing number of excellent independent coffee shops which is where I'll probably spend most of my coffee money :)
Great coffee, good food, and super staff. They do a lot of baking here with loud equipment, which makes for terrific background/white noise, but you will probably have to go outside to make a phone call. Can get very busy and run out of chairs.
Absolutely love this location. The factory space is original, with lofty high ceilings. The barista hot drinks are delicious. The bakery has fresh flaky croissants, moist chocolate cake and soft chocolate chip & peanut butter cookies.
Americanos were amazing, really enjoyed that paired with a ham and gruyere croissant. So tasty, will be a regular now, very impressed with the quality and service. Staff is incredibly good at what they do. My other half enjoyed the morning cinnamon bun also, very tasty.
Staff are incredibly rude and condescending. Way overpriced given the quality of both the coffee and customer service.
Very pleasant atmosphere with all COVID precautions in place. Fast and friendly service too!
High ceilings and lots of people not as cosy a feeling as you get from most coffee shops. It is an open concept roastery and shop so that adds to the atmosphere. Excellent coffee, some of the best in town. Good food as well although a little pricey all told.
Some of the freshest coffee I've ever tasted. Given that it is roasted right there, that shouldn't be surprising. Atmosphere is nice, with a variety of comfortable seating that is suitable for either work if leisure. It also has nice patio space in front if one wishes to sit outside in warmer months. My only compliant is that it is a tad noisy, namely because this location is more than just a retail outlet. Rather, it is also where coffee beans are roasted and goods are baked for all the Bridgehead locations in the Ottawa region. That said, it is all done within an open concept design which provides a cool backdrop to sit and watch while sipping your coffee. All and all this place is a fantastic asset to the nieghborhood.
Overrated. Dreadful coffee (worse than Tim's) and overpriced. Go to McDonald's for your fix, or Second Cup, Starbucks or almost anywhere else if you are looking for a decent, drinkable cupajoe. Simply Biscotti on Colonnade (and I assume the …
It is quite an experience to walk through these doors. This is the coffee version of The 3 Brewers (Les 3 Brasseurs). The store is a little bit darker than the other locations scattered around the city. This is in part due to its massive size that houses all the roasting equipment. The tables and parking are limited, yet we have managed to always find a spot to sit and park. We really like this site due to all the interesting people frequenting this particular spot. The Breakfast sandwiches are excellent as are the Cappuccino and Americano. The pastries are always fresh, as are their breads. This is the first locale that we were able to bring home some of their freshly baked breads. I have noticed that they do have a recipe section, that looks very intriguing, online. I can hardly wait to try the Bruschetta recipe with some of their, freshly baked, Lemon Olive Semolina loaf. Bridgehead is the first coffee company, in Canada, to provide fair trade coffee to its customers. This is something worth celebrating and supporting. It makes one proud to be Canadian.
This coffee place is between small and medium size. I am not fan of this franchise but that's just me. If you live around the area, it is a decent spot to hang out for 30 mins up to an hour.
Great roastery! Pretty spacious with lots of tables and seats to dine in. The scones, wraps, and drinks were delicious. Friendly staffs!
Great place for relaxing with delicious coffee with a little WiFi. Enjoyed the jalapeno and cheese scone too. This particular location is the main bakery so there was delicious baking croissant smell too, although we didn't end up trying one.
Great option of coffee! Their oat milk coffee latte and i added pumps of vanilla, was so good! Will come back for sure! #drinkwithlocals
Opens at 7 which is great for an early coffee stop after a bike ride. Great seating outside and warm atmosphere inside.
Met with clients at this location. First off- it is a very clear place. The quality of the coffee and snacks are more than you would expect. Staff are happy to make suggestions if you are not sure what you would like to have. Take that suggestion as it will be a great experience. Pricing is more than reasonable for the high-quality product received. For those of us who like to linger, or meet with clients, there is absolutely no pressure to continue purchasing or move along like you find at other locations.
Where my girl at who use to work there pre-pandemic?
If you enjoy a quality roast with an cozy atmosphere, you pay a visit to this location.
Excellent coffee for those who like fresh roasted flavor, had the flat white on the strong side of coffee . Flavor is great , nice flavors from the roasting process . Clean and very chic, busy at times.
Sometimes the coffee (latte) is good. Other times it has either tasted like it was just steamed milk or it tasted very off. Same with avocado toast... they can make it fresh if you ask but usually they make avocado spread out of many avocados which is kept refrigerated ( for hours sometimes) . There were times when it was full of brown bits (the avocado used is overripe) or they put way too much lemon juice.
Very nice coffee shop to enjoy a cup of coffee and the staff are very friendly. One thing that does bug me about all the Bridgeheads, is the fact that they do not have any SANITIZARS outside any of their washrooms. That's is a must have in any establishment.
