As you know, we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Restaurant.
Great little spot in Orillia for all things fresh baked. Lovely little store. Gets a little crazy busy on the weekends but it's worth the wait!
It's worth the drive to Orillia. I decided to close out Pride month with the Homer donut. It's pink. Like really pink. Probably works for Easter too.
I picked up two pies on Dec 23. Drunken Christmas pie and pumkin pie. I ordered ahead and service was good. The pumpkin pie however had no flavor and the crust was ..well I don't know what it was. It did not taste fresh or good. I usually make my own pie but thought I would treat us. The last time I bought a Texas donut it also tasted a day old and lacked flavor. New baker???? The drunken Christmas pie on the other hand was delicious with a flakey crust.
Tried the toasted s’mores mocha and Skor Donut!
Great place! Id tell you to try their garlic dills but then there might be less for me lol. The donuts are amazing and the food is pretty good.
I picked up a cake here for my son's birthday. Great selection of baked goods that all look delicious. The death by chocolate cake was incredible. My family and I will definitely be visiting again.

It is a destination...so much variety...excellent quality...great food choices and baked goods and the coffee is good...staff are excellent
Beautiful atmosphere, selection of baked goods, gift items and the deli prepares delicious meals. Washrooms are open to the public and kept clean. Staff is friendly.
A very cute (but huge) place if you are in heading to Muskoka, with wide variety of items ranging from sauce, jelly, spreads, cakes, pastries and breads. We tried quite a few things from fresh bakery items along with coffee and all of them tasted pretty good. While we didn't get to try but have heard, their tomato soup is a must try and they usually run out of it, by before lunch times. This place also has a gift shop within the vicinity.
Service
Awesome little Market. Great food. I buy their pies and pretend I made it myself at family gatherings. Always a hit! Haha
Love visiting this place, has something for everyone. So many delicious baked goods to choose from. Great spot to eat in and also perfect for taking things to go. I love their cakes for special occasions, the San Francisco Sourdough bread is amazing and their coconut macaroons are some of the best I've ever had. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.
Had heard good reviews about this place. Seeing it in person is another level experience. Hidden gem in Orillia. Must visit. Perfect for dates, brunches with the girlfriends, family and even just by yourself. Little shops to explore inside for souvenirs. Its usually busy.
Went there on a Sunday morning and bought an apple fritter. It was so warm and fresh, it was the best fritter I've had. We also got an apple pie muffin, which I loved, and plain butter tarts that were perfect in consistency. Would DEFINITELY go there again!
So many yummy things! Portions are huge! Service is wonderful and the flavours are the best of home made goods. Once seating is allowed after covid this is a fantastic place to go have lunch and get a Texas sized doughnut! My favourite is the homer doughnut in photo
My partner and I enjoyed this place! They have an amazing selection of local stuff and lots of seating and great food!

Always 200 percent service and quality. I have never had a negative experience
Customer service is top knotch. Baked goods the best. And if you need the old fashioned preserves, this is the place. A must if you stop in Orillia. And BTW, my beautiful niece does my hair just across the street. My 2 perminent stops in The sunshine city.
This place is simply amazing! Food is great, we enjoyed the meat pie and I truly have to recommend it!! Their butter tarts, and sugar twits ???????????????? so worth the line up ????????????
I am all for vaccine passports. Two servers asked for my proof of vaccine which I showed them. I asked politly if they were vaccinated. I was told it would not be discussed and that they did not have to tell me that its a private buisness. Im sure they are correct however customer safety should be their priority. They were however very rude with their reply. I will no longer be a daily customer.
Mariposa Market is awesome! Have been visiting for years. Renovations have made even more dining area and more options for breakfast brunch or lunch. Large tea and smoothie menu now. Our favorites are all of the baked goods! From bread, cakes and pies to quiches, sandwiches and pizza. Everything tastes fabulous. And of course there's still Apple Annie's downstairs. So many kitchen gadgets, sauces and dips and the best fudge!!
We had apple and blueberry fritters, spinach feta pastry, turkey croissant sandwich and we bought their corn/ ancho chiles salsa- all are VERY good. Fast service, friendly, LOTS of baked goods and food selection, there is small section where people can eat. Fritters, they are very large, perfect for sharing during afternoon tea or to have at brunch with friends, or when you feel like a big fritter ???? the fritters are fresh and tastes great! Pastry was great and salsa was fire. Highly recommend when you’re in Orillia!

So many fantastic choices. Made the trip from Barrie just for great selection. Coffee was great and the service fantastic. Next time I'll skip the tape on the boxes so I can get into them easier and quicker. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the bakery items.. cant wait to come back...
Cool little place and a staple of downtown Orillia. It has incredible choices and was absolutely packed when we were there. The coffee was fantastic and the prices were fair for what you get. If you come to Orillia then don't miss this place because it's cool.
In general a pricey place. However, the products are excellent! Enjoyed a substantial Boston Cream Donut for $2.50 ????
Fantastic shop for both young and old. Great food, drinks and treats. Prices are fair and they have done a great shop creating a great atmosphere. Clean modern touches that pay tribute to the history of the business.
Was a great place with so much to choose from. Only thing didn't see baskets to carry items so was hard to carry more items I wanted to but.. guess next visit.

This cheesecake is probably the best I have ever had and the fruit was perfectly ripe and sweet and lots of it!!
So many delicious baked goods. Friendly staff. A great place.
The absolute best place for any sweets and special coffees when you step into Mariposa market the atmosphere is as if it's out of a hallmark movie 100%
This bakery is big and sells more than just food. It has inside entrances to the 2 souvenir shops on its either side. They serve lunch and have tables at the back and have a basement that sells a variety of kitchen stuffs.
We were drove up from Stouffville to Orillia and were looking for a late lunch spot. This apot was recommended and it did not disappoint. We shared a delicious grilled turkey sandwich and caesar salad wrap. Their cranberry cider was the right mix of tangy and sweet. Only regret was we didn't get a chance to try some of their delicious sweet treats!
If you want REALLY GOOD products and in the Orillia area, never skip this place. Their baked items are so good and so is their cafe. Lots of stuff to see and also have a gift shop for visiting folks.
Fun shopping experience. Lots of nice gift ideas and pastry selection. Shop local and help sustain businesses in your area. Big box stores won't go out of business but our neighbors might if we don't help them out.
Mariposa used to be a 5 of 5, but my last few visits from this summer have knocked it down to a 4. Everything here used to be bang on. Favorites included the cornbread and death by chocolate cake. My favorites are still there, but you can tell, especially in the corn bread, that things have taken a step back. The corn bread just isn’t the same as years past. Same thing with some of the prepared food. Naked egg omelette was just horrible, wired texture from over baking and way, way under-seasoned. Overall had no flavour and was bad enough I couldn’t finish it. DBC cake was still good, same with the Sheppard and beef pies…until next year Mariposa….
Great baked goods and preserves. Large selection of prepared meals and snacks. Hot chocolate and cider to cap it all off. So much to try, definitely requires repeat visits to try it all.
We love coming to Mariposa any time we are in town. Lunch is always good though sometimes it can get a bit crowded. We love the lemon loaf (and other flavours) but wish they have the lemon blueberry one with the icing more often.
Service
Busy spot , other than how busy it is I would give it 5 starts , the selection and quality of the food Is amazing. The staff are all great friendly people; I go for lunch and I order cakes all the time always consistently good , the mini cakes are so tasty and the art work on the cakes make them some of the nicest cakes you can find. I would definitely recommend stopping in if your in a orilia, I’m sure you will love it.
Take a trip downtown and see a historic shop with great eats. No trip to Orillia is complete until you experience coffee and dessert at the Mariposa.
Best bakery I have ever visited. Outstanding products. Visited again for the second time this week. We had a delicious homemade lunch here. Its a busy place at lunch time, there is so much to choose from. including a wide variety of teas. had a Texas donut It was huge. Will definitely return here and we highly recommend it.

It was my first visit at the Mariposa Market during the weekend. They had a Christmas party going on. First impressions: The storefront was very welcoming. Once inside, I had a cabin like feeling because the interior was really pretty and quaint. The Christmas decorations were so charming! There's a good selection of items to shop for such as home, clothing, food, etc. and also for food. We tried the spinach, feta, and tomato quiche, hot chocolate, san francisco hotdog, and the Christmas cupcake. Really enjoyed the food. Customer service was great too - every staff member asked if you've been helped while we were waiting in line. Will definitely visit again!!
Mariposa has always been a favourite over the years. I recently visited again after moving away to find it totally changed not for the better in my view It has lost the atmosphere that made it cozy and inviting in order to sell..sell..sell their goods. Seating removed and only upstairs or at back cold entrance. My favourite stores not within anymore or downstairs wares and fudge closed off. There is very little in the remaining store worth buying. Why can't they keep it like it was a place worth visiting..unlikely to return again. I remember the days it was a vibrant cozy meeting place we looked forward to visiting...not anymore.
Mariposa Market is a very warm and cozy market that has an abundance of pastries, as well as food and hot and cold drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, juices, pop, etc). I go here for a hot chocolate while studying or specifically for their extremely creamy and mouthwatering mac n cheese. The ambiance is amazingly cozy and jolly. There is another and more newer looking back side of Mariposa that has more seating as well as as a parking lot just outside of the back door entrance for all your early morning coffee and breakfast needs before work. If you’re visiting Orillia you should stop by and check it out and get yourself a little treat.
Having never been into this establishment before I was mightily impressed with the Mariposa Market! Busy with sales and 'lookers' and folks having lunches on the balconies above, the market seems a lively place even on a weekday. Side rooms offer some clothing and specialty bath and beauty items, and more baking available in the back room with extra seating booths and washrooms. Seems like there was something for everyone here, and I really enjoyed the smell of the fresh baking as I came through the door.
This place is definitely a gem of this town. Really good sandwiches and cakes. The chocolate loaf cake was yum and so was the blueberry cheesecake. Super busy place still they provide excellent service.

We ordered a variety of tarts, cookies and brownies for dessert at our small backyard wedding and everything was so delicious! My maid of honour picked up the desserts for us and everything was ready to go at the time I had requested. I thought I had ordered too many, but there were none left at the end of the night! We received so many comments on how delicious everything was.
Incredible lunch spot! Love the wheat free options. Great customer service from the friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back.
The downstairs isn't open atm. Fabulous selection of foods and preserves. Plenty of Canadiana to be had. Bring your proof of vaccination if you want to dine on.
I've walked by many times and decided to stop in. I am so glad I did. Plenty of wonderful baked items and every variety of home style pickle/preserve/jam you can imagine as well as an "Olde Time" candy shop. They had probably the best donuts I have had in forever. There are plenty of places offering gourmet dohnuts and they are pretty much just "meh". Their basic donut topped with chocolate was the best I have had in ages. Plenty of other varieties and Texas Sized donuts. So if you enjoy a quality product make sure to put the Mariposa Market on your must visit list when you are in Orillia.
Great place with kind and hospitable hosts. The place is a blend of restaurant and café with connected bakery/specialty store. I had their spinach quiche and Mac and cheese. Both were delish.
A very cute and colorful place with lots of sweets and baked goods. They also serve lunch items such as wraps, sandwiches, quiche, smoothies, tea, etc. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. A must visit if you are in Orillia.
Love from the first bite :)) great place with a lot of character, and delicious menus ????
Amazing service top notch friendly staff???? food is delicious ????
It's a fabulous place. There are too many items to chose. We had a Christmas party here just before COVID. We had a wonderful time here. The dessert is my favourite . I will come back. I wandered around here today.
Wow! Awesome market. Orillia downtown has plenty of art installations on street for viewing nearby and this little market is a whole entire experience unto itself! The donuts are humungous. The breads are fresh! I eat keto and I'm gluten free so I feel the experience was wasted on me, but if you want to tingle your sweet tooth, this is the place! It's a kid in my a candy shoppe feel when you walk in the doors. Very busy, sandwiches and wraps looked fantastic!

This great bakery never disappoints. Every time I go in I always manage to come out with something. Even during the pandemic they offer a decent selection of food. Can’t think of anything I have not enjoyed. Their mini cakes are great.
This market and bakery/cafe is on the Main street of Orillia downtown. The store is beautiful on the outside and on the inside. It feels like an European bistro. The center of the establishment it’s a bakery, flanked on both sides by stores, one is a clothing store, and the other is a Home Goods store. They sell really neat things on both stores. The bakery has a lot of choices for savory and sweet goods. Great place to have breakfast or lunch; there are a few tables to seat and enjoy your food. We enjoyed our savory items very much, all of them. Their sweet baked goods were not as good as Wilkies though.

Very worth the trip to Orillia to visit this market & bakery Some artwork around downtown Orillia
This place is amazing!! I have never seen such beautiful cakes and such a huge baking selection. We got some donuts and sandwiches to take home with us. If passing through Orillia be sure to stop in here, you will not be disappointed.
Worth the drive! Packed with wonderful home-made and local foods, baked goods, treats and spreads. The decor and open concept market vibe was beautiful, and the place was well-staffed to ensure customers were serviced quickly and pleasantly. We had a San Francisco Baked Hot Dog, a Pulled Pork Sandwich, a Chicken Enchilada, and a BBQ Chicken sandwich. For dessert, a Blueberry Fritter, a Homer Donut, and an Eclair. All delicious, plentiful, and very fresh. We will be making this a weekly visit for sure.
This bakery is the best sweets bakery around. We drive from Barrie for the apple fritters alone and always end up with more than we bargained for! Hands down best fritter!
Nice bakery/market. Lots of cakes, donuts, and bread. Didn't seem to be a lot of pastry selection for how big the store was. Large store. Be sure to check downstairs for fudge and other goodies.

Stopped here on a long drive for a bite. Staff is friendly. We got the mac n cheese with the chilled strawberry cheesecake and YUMMY! All the food was delicious, our mac n cheese was so fresh and warm! Lots of seating and cute art on the walls. We were impressed by this place and the variety they had. Lots of people here for a monday afternoon - will visit again if in the area :)
Worst service and lunch! There seems to be no procedures in place behind the lunch counter. Food was awful! From a disgusting cheddar spinach quiche to an over microwaved mac and cheese to a burnt croissant sandwich with so much mayo you couldn't taste anything else.!! Overpriced and under delivered. I don't recommend eating here. A quick stop at the bakery counter is all this place is good for and even that will be expensive!!
OMG!! If you live close by you have to check this place out!! It’s everything and more you could want in a bakery market! I had a wrap which was absolutely delicious and their chai tea doesn’t even compare to any other place! Can’t wait to come back!
Nice place for a baked treat or a yummy lunch. Fudge in the basement is delicious.
Went there yesterday specifically to get something to eat. It says that they have Keto Muffins. And other keto foods. The only thing that they had that was keto, was coffee. Very disappointed. Keto should be removed from their website, if they aren't planning on making keto food. Extremely hard for people like myself that are sugar addicts, to walk in there and not be triggered. Thankfully, I got a coffee and left.
Beautiful shop with delicious baked goods and hot food. A must-visit place
When I read about this place as a must visit historic market in Orillia I thought it would be an outdoor market with antiques and baked goods! It's not outdoors but it's still pretty amazing. Looks like a small store front but once you go in you see how it expands and is really big and bustling inside. There's a bakery, freshly made lunch, coffee, smoothies, bottled spreads and sauces and there's also a basement section offering fudge. Lots of seating upstairs and outside as well. The store is connected to 2 other shops selling soaps, clothing, and souvenirs. Really enjoyed visiting here, it's a vibrant place in town that's always busy.

Every time we visit Orillia, we come here. They have such amazing cupcakes and cakes, breads and other goodies. There's a little kitchen store downstairs we love too. They have some great fudge.

Over the top huge donuts and amazing pastries! Wow, it was a treat to see this place in Orillia. Next time I will be getting lunch! They have breads, pastries, donuts, cakes, sandwiches, wraps, quiche, along with the side shops that have a ton of candies, cards, skin care, and novelties.
When my group of friends were by the water, a friendly local suggested this place. I love marketplaces so I was bound to pay a visit! I arrived during what seemed to be a lunch rush. A lot of people lining up for bake goods , coffee and the hot meal section. I got a latte and cappuccino. I didn’t have my travel mug with me but I am a fan of cool inventions - and so the sliding lid really amused me haha. We then got a lemon loaf to bring home, as well as a jam. Loads of selection! We were too tempted so we lined up for lunch as well. Got a chicken caesar salad and egg salad sandwhich. If you’re a cheese lover, you’ll love the selection. I’m lactose intolerant but the mac and cheese selection got me craving it! Such a great place. Would come again - The people are so friendly!
We stopped for a quick bite to eat on our way through Orillia on a long road trip and we were pleasantly surprised! The bakery is outstanding and you won't want to leave empty handed!
This place is beautiful! We received amazing service when we popped in on a Sunday morning for coffee and pastries. Everything we bought was so tasty, especially the cranberry pumpkin pecan muffin which was truly a thing of beauty. Two friends recommended Mariposa Market to us while we were in Orillia this weekend and I can totally see why. I’m so glad we checked it out.
Mariposa is a nice place to have a coffee or lunch. Lots of character, like an old movie theatre. I especially like the photos on the walls.
Meal type
My first time at this market today was extremely stressful. Social distancing and flow of traffic completely ignored. It was busy and for good reason, it’s a great place food wise. Pricey $$$
Very disappointed, went out of my way to visit the bake shop, hoping find some egg free pastries or desserts. Entered the store with high hopes only to find out there was only some wheat free biscuits. Didn’t sound appetizing at all. Mariposa needs to realize, it is the twenty first century, we spend money and you only needed one bake option to keep us vegans happy. Don’t go, they have no take out vegan pastries options.

What a quaint little market with a little bit of everything, great soups, sandwiches pastas. Go early to get a table, lunch and dinner can be really busy, but so worth it .
Great selection of cakes, tarts, donuts, savoury foods, and excellent service. Be sure to check this place out if you're in town.
A very near place. A HUGE bakery selection. Great coffee and a wide selection of lunch items like sandwiches. The decor in Northern Canadian chic. Great place
A nice place to shop for local goods and souvenirs. It's tourist-oriented, so you will pay a bit of a premium, but hey, you're on vacation. Treat yourself!
Cute n fun place to go. Love the setting. Food is good. The candy store is a hit for the kids. Quite busy on the weekend. A must-go in Orillia
O.M.G!!! This place is absolutely phenomenal! I can't believe and truly regret not visiting Mariposas sooner! I did not realize what a dream this place is and how much they have to offer. They have such a wonderful variety of food, desserts, breads, salads, sandwiches. It's like a little piece of heaven in our own little city. How lucky we are. I only wish I had discovered Mariposas a couple months ago before I realized that I have Celiac Disease ????... However, they do have gluten free options here and brought a little bit of hope and happiness back into my life lol. I also purchased a keto muffin since it also does not have any gluten and it was fabulous. The picture is of a turtles mini cake and Im eating as I type this and it is incredible! The coffee is really good too. Inside of Mariposas is cozy, quiet and perfect for enjoying a coffee and treat or some lunch on your break. A great little gem Orillia has. I definitely highly recommend checking out this bakery/cafe. I actually ordered my daughters birthday cake today for her party in February. They have lots of themes to choose from. Im sure it will be delicious when the time comes aswell. Thanks Mariposas for giving making gluten feee options for people like myself whom cannot consume gluten and have a serious weakness for sweets lol. You have made my life a little more tasty. ????
Best spinach quiche and great selection of desserts. Very cool to see how this market has lasted since such a long history
This place is a very nice surprise we found in downtown Orillia. You can find all sorts of baked goods, coffee, handmade sweets, and kitchen gadgets here. It's a market will multiple independent vendors under one roof. Take your time and explore!
Always a great place to visit when passing through! The food, the baked goods, preserves and gifts are all wonderful! We stop here every time we're in Orillia
Pretty sparse with the downstairs being closed. Could be due to supply chain issues and covid. Still 4 stars as the upstairs wasn't even fully stocked. Overall a really neat place with tons of potential.
Great pies, sandwiches and more. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I love this place.
Very good selection and the baked goods are fresh. Their prepared sandwiches/foods are okay, but none are memorable. Expect large crowds and rushed service. Also, they sell out fairly early in the day (I'm not sure why they don't make more, especially on a long weekend), so aim to arrive early. (The photo is of a gopher tail.)
Their delivery service is excellent. I placed a large order at Christmas during the rush for a Royal Rose gift basket, skor donuts, a few blueberry/strawberry jams and a dozen gluten free cherry shortbread cookies. All arrived quickly and everything was fresh and well packaged. Their delivery driver was courteous and followed contact free covid protocols. Upon unpacking my order I discovered they included a free Christmas gift which was an unexpected nice touch. This was my first order but it certainly will not be my last. I'd rate this business six out of five stars but Google limits my rating to five so I'll just have to settle with that.
The bakery section draws me here and this time I was pleasantly surprised that they also carry a large assortment of gluten-free desserts, cookies and breads as well. Super friendly service is another reason why I keep going back.
This place is huge and has a lot of baked goods! The cakes, cookies, pies, donuts, etc., don’t just look good, but they taste amazing as well. They recently rearranged the front area so now there is more seating for if you want to enjoy a coffee. Highly recommend this spot in Orillia!
We had a Roast beef and a Ham sandwich on croissants, fantastic food with a generous amount of meat and cheese on a crispy croissant. A must visit place in Orillia
Take out
I LOVE Mariposa Market! Everything is homemade and you can taste the difference for sure. I'm addicted to the French Turkey Croissant (it has red pepper jelly on it and the cheese croissant is AMAZING)!! Don't buy the cookies or tarts unless you're mentally prepared to eat three at a time! ❤️
Lovely bakery in the heart of downtown Orillia. Interior is warm and welcoming. It’s hard to not wanna buy everything. The donuts are delicious and the Skor butter tarts are to die for. Lines ups can be long, but the servers are working as fast as they can. Busy atmosphere. Overall, I’ll be back again and again.
Lunch
Top notch. Far too many good treats, so bad for my backside!!!! Lol. Always worth the trip to Orillia, though ❤️

Such a wonderful atmosphere. It is old time quaint with up to date customer service. The food is excellent and fresh. They always have some gluten free options available, and the wheat free bread made on sight is fantastic.
I do have to say this is thee best market anywhere. Well worth the drive out to orillia. Even tho its a pandemic. They still have smiles on their faces w a great selection of food
Their gopher tails are unmatched! So freaking delicious. Well everything looks good here and such a wide variety of food and drinks, plus the aesthetic and ambiance is on point
