Not enough tables. The men's restroom, you open that door, urinal to your right, sink to your left, toilet in front, piss on the ground. I guess you can go to the bathroom anywhere in there. Chairs were comfy though. Staff was friendly. Gingerbread cookies were made with too much molasses, and are soft (not a fan, maybe you are)

Grab a Coffee, some pastries or split a cake with someone! Everything here is worth the price! Tip them servers as they make your coffee as if they are making their own!

Staff seems annoyed if you ask for cinnamon leaf on top of your cappuccino. Also I had a coffee with soy milk in it and the soy milk was bad tried to take it back she said it was suppose to do that I replied I've never seen it separated like this ... she wouldn't take it back so I order a cappuccino (had to pay for).

They have reopened. They have socially distanced seating inside and patio on the outside. There is currently a 45 minute time limit on patio seating to allow for everyone to sit outside. They have safety measures in place such as providing wax paper for you to open the doors and sanitizers. They have plexiglass erected at the counter. Due to COVID-19, they are currently not doing the stamp card, where you collect stamps each time you buy a coffee. I love the atmosphere and decor. It's wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered date square and vegan cookie and café Aulait. Their treats are delightful pairings to go with any drink. I should have asked what a Café Aulait was because it was priced the same as their lattes. To me it tasted like regular watered down coffee with steamed milk on top. I'm usually a latte person so maybe this drink is better for "lighter" coffee flavors. Atmosphere and staff were good. Definitely a nice chill coffee shop to go to if you want to avoid mega coffee chain stores and support local.

The coffee is alright, but the internet is terrible...run a speed test before you buy a $5 cup of coffee. You have to admit that patrons come to enjoy a cup of coffee and use the internet at the same time. It feels like they have switched to a dialup connection!! I have been coming to this place for years. I even go out of my way sometimes just to get a latte. So I walked in today after a rough argument with my spouse and sat at the first table I saw and was texting with my coat and backpack on. I was going to go to the bathroom and get a tea in a bit but before I could do that, an old man came to me and said that he would let me sit there today but next time If I’m sitting I need to buy something. I was so shocked. I told him I come here all the time and was going to get something but not anymore. I walked out and left. I guess he’s the owner of the place. I’ve never felt so degraded at an establishment. Btw I’m a professional who could probably buy this guys stupid coffee shop if I wanted to. I’m so disgusted by the way I was treated here and am never coming back again. And this my friends is why places like Starbucks thrive and these stupid individual chains die out- cuz they don’t know how to treat people!

This is my new place. I was looking (way too hard) for a coffee shop that had good drinks, a nice atmosphere, a comfy place to sit and some basic food and WIFI and this is it! While it doesn't have comfy chairs or couches, it hits the nail on the head in every other aspect. Definitely would recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place to enjoy a good Chai Latte, and will definitely be returning far too often!

Coffee yep. It's okay. This location is quaint and clean. Staff were friendly. Had the House Blend. Too much cream for a single serving. Coffee was weak and lukewarm. Tried the ginger cookie. Soft texture was terrific, but not gingery enough for real ginger lovers. Once we get back to self serve cream and sugar it might be better. Bathroom facilities were clean and well kept. Spots to sit both outside and in. One table at the back can accommodate a larger group. Most tables seat 2. Not really young child friendly. Didn't see a high chair or change table in the restroom. Not in a hurry to go back. Lots of better coffee elsewhere.

Love the desserts here, I had a coffee and it was like drinking lava, so I no longer drink coffee here; I'm all about my coffee being positive on the thermometer, but if it scalds the tongue upon drinking, what is the point? I still like the place for the coffee but the ambience appears to no longer be there. A while back I would have given it a 5-star rating, today the place is no longer quiet and relaxing... conversations at various tables are loud and distracting, heck, hard to enjoy a relaxing coffe when the guy behind you is practically shouting into your ear!!! Not sure what happened...the crowd certainly changed, many foreign languages can be heard and yes, they are the loud ones. Before you arrive at the wrong conclusion let me explain that English was not my mother tongue either. Ultimately the proprietor should either quiet things down and bring back the old cosy feel, or get used to watching the customers leave early (like we did today) and most likely not come back either. We used to visit once a week, got tired of that street-market feel, now we rarely come once a month.

One of my favourite coffee shops in downtown Windsor. Very warm atmosphere as soon as you walk in. They have a small patio section that looks out onto the street of downtown that’s always nice to be to sit down to during the spring and fall months. The selection of food and beverages will definitely satisfy anyone’s needs for food and drink.

A cafe with a very nice ambiance. Especially in the evening when the lights are dimmed and the din of various conversations among couples or groups of friends, many of whom have become regulars creates a nice, warm and friendly atmosphere. Anyone from locals to professionals and students come to relax with one or more of the many choices of coffees, teas, desserts and various small meal choices, catching up with friends, having business meetings or using the free wifi to do some homework on their laptops. The Coffee Exchange is a place to visit and spend some time. Believe me. I've been doing that for more than ten years.

Great coffee selection that gets frequently updated. One of the best downtown. The espresso drinks are well done as well, but it could take some time as often times there is one person behind the counter. There is also a setup for pour overs, but never saw it advertised. I recommend asking about it next time you visit.

The coffee here is just too notch! Every drink on their menu is delicious, and will definitely leave you with a bit of a caffeine buzz! Also offer some lovely desserts. Great atmosphere and friendly staff as well. One thing that could be improved is having a more efficient ordering and payment system. They are usually pretty busy, but only have one debit machine.

What a great local coffee spot! The coffee is amazing. It was served fresh and hot. The best part , is the awesome desserts! They are all made fresh and are fantastic! This is a perfect spot to grab a coffee before or after a show. The only challenge will parking downtown. Street parking is available and you can always park down by the river and walk up. Enjoy!

I was asked to leave after working on a project in Coffee Exchange for a few hours. Apparently their policy is that you have to buy something every few hours in order to stay there. Their business was not overly busy and it was a weeknight. Seems like this business is more concerned about serving itself rather than serving customers. Also want to add that this is the first time I have ever been asked to leave a café for "staying too long."

A neat fixture downtown. Since the Starbucks closed at University I've been swinging by here more often, and I have to say their menu as a whole is better than I remembered. Certain things are overpriced (mostly the cakes, and mostly because they give you more than I, at least, can eat without feeling sick) but I haven't had anything I legit didn't like there yet. I'm a frapp guy and for years I considered theirs inferior to sbux's, but now I just think they're different. And it's nice to have a true late-night cafe that, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to suffer from as many sketchy clientele as my poor barista buddies had to deal with across the street. I've especially enjoyed the couple of times I've been able to snag one of the patio tables and do homework. Overall I'm really enjoying having this new stomping grounds - though it won't stop me from going to Roundhouse to see my barista buddies every week.

Whenever I go to Windsor I make sure to go here. They make a perfect Cafe au Lait and service is always great. They have an extensive variety of teas and pastries which always look fresh. They are delicious as well! The decor is whimsical and there is a charm. It is nicely and centrally located where there are many other businesses and people seem to enjoy visiting friends here. It dies not have that "I will situate myself in this corner all day and work" feel that places like Starbucks would have. It is much more laid back and worth the visit.

If you aren't in a hurry in the morning, go here. It costs, what, a couple dimes more than than Timmies for coffee that tastes better, can be flavored with milk + sugar by you personally, and can be customized with one of two daily flavour options FOR FREE. I can understand the inconvenience of having to find parking and then walking in and waiting and walking out and driving away if you're in a hurry in the morning or don't work downtown, but if you can make the trip--whether routinely or occasionally--absolutely do so.

Best coffee shop in town in my opinion. Friendly and efficient service, simple but tasty sandwiches and salads, decadent sweets and a great cup o Joe. The atmosphere is calming and classic. Bay doors that open to a sidewalk patio make the place all the more inviting.

Server was polite and my order was completed very quickly. She explained the coffee options very clearly because I asked, because I drink my coffee black. Coffee was just ok, but definitely not bad. Rating 4 instead of 5 because the acoustics are really poor and it was very loud. Had a hard time hearing the person sitting across from me. I had a terrible experience there tonight because of some purchase policy which was being strictly enforced. Normally I'll buy a few items and relax while I eat them. I don't stay long, but I'm courteous and always tip well. Tonight as I was about to order something my boss called and I had to take it. The conversation went a bit long, but I still planned to order a dessert and tea, when one of the servers came over, interrupted my call, and continued to talk after I signaled that I was on the phone. That's alright, I thought. No harm done. Well by the time I was finished with my call my friend (who had already purchased items and finished them) was ready to leave so I was standing, waiting for her to pack her bag, when another server came over and asked what she could bring. I told her nothing, that we were on our way out, and she responded "well then I'm going to have to ask you to leave... This is a place of business." 1) I have been a patron many times over 2) there were empty tables and seats 3) it wasn't busy and nobody was waiting 4) sometimes waiting and being kind results in people spending more money 5) I was standing TO LEAVE when she confronted me I'll never spend another dime there again.

It was a dark and dreary evening. The wind was restless, howling through the corridors of downtown Windsor. Rain met my face as I walked towards what would soon be a welcoming delight of warmth. As we stepped through the doorway, the robust and rich aromas of coffee filled out lungs. There was a subtle and sweet hint of tea in the air as well. The room was alive yet calming with the low chatter of the comfortable and cozy patrons already inside. This was the perfect place at the right time to enjoy the evening on our double date. The lights were low, yet not dim, painting the walls in their warm tone. We approached the counter where we were greeted by outgoing and delightful staff. Anyway, I got a coffee of some sort, it was pretty good.

It is a great place to go, l love the atmosphere but the music is so loud especially at night. It's hard to talk to one other without almost shouting. It is so hot in there all the time also.Therefore our visit is very short lately. Please turn down the music and the thermostat so we can enjoy a relaxing coffee and conversation .

Space is nice but the prices have went up 3 times in the last year"ish", it's now a good bit more expensive than Starbucks. Staff are hit or miss, it's common to be standing for 5 mins+ with a long line and not to be acknowledged , some are friendly some aren't. Also no customer loyalty, there are points in my life when I've eaten here 3 times a day spending hundreds a month and they will still charge $1 for refilling half a pot of hot water for tea, often without mentioning the charge. I get having to make money as a business but there's a fine line between being practical and being cheap. I'll be heading to March 21st instead next time.
