This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Live music venue.
This little gem is amazing! The food is fabulous and the staff and friendly, courteous and efficient. We are happy to drive an hour just to have lunch here ????
Friendly service, amazing food and a beautiful garden for eating outside. Lots of live music events too!
Hands down one of the best live music venues. Really tasty food too
Really good pizza. Had a buy one get one half off deal too.
Very very disappointed. You Guys went from one of the best woodfire pizza to a poor quality pizza. I order a Weird Al and a Ziggy Stardust. The size was way smaller than usually. Got told to pick Up the pizza on 25 minutes, I got there after 20 minutes I ordered, I was there picking up a cold and stale pizza. Weird Al meant to have arugula on top, instead I got mesclum on top. It seems since you guys re-open to the public you quality touched rock bottom. I will never buy a pizza there again.
Fantastic venue, good coffee, my only gripe is that it's a bit of a tight squeeze to get around the place.
We stopped in on the way home from a day of skiing at Calabogie and were very impressed. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. We just had tea and some snacks and they were delicious. The cook was making a pizza at the time and was more than happy to show my kids how it was done. Next time, we will stay for a meal or maybe get some food to go so we don't have to eat from the cafeteria at the ski hill.
OMG! Just what we needed with such depressing COVID times. The venue was safe and physically distanced and the sound system fringe the shed session- Chantal Kravizuk was incredible!
We stopped for lunch after walking the Eagle's Nest trail and enjoyed a wood-fired pizza; a smoked salmon sandwich; and a vegetarian wrap with goats' cheese. The pizza crust was excellent and the toppings creative (pesto, pear and arugula). We'd recommend asking for some spicy oil to bring a little more zest to the pie. The sandwich servings were very generous and came with a green salad and a homemade cabbage roll soup. We ate outside on a picnic table in a bucolic garden on a glorious fall day.
Excellent pizza, absolutely marvelous. The wedges were excellent. I loved "The Beatles" pizza, the daily special was good, and the "Jack White" was good. The live music will certainly be great when able to resume.
Great spot to check out! Ticket purchase was a breeze and communication with the ower beforehand was efficient and personally handled. Food was delicious, great service and amazing line up of live music coming their way for their Live Sessions series! So great to see a venue you like this grow under good leadership and entrepreneurial skills! Covid protocols in place.
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Premium coffee with a state of the art espresso machine. The wood burning pizza was fantastic. When walking into the property, the woodburning stove fills the air. 10/10 would visit again.
Stopped by here, food was really good. Had the smoked meat sandwich. The coffee was amazing, so good that we bought a bag of their coffee on the way out.
We stopped for a few pizzas after a day of climbing at Calabogie. When I saw the coffee grinders inside I decided to take a risk on a latte and some cookies for dessert. Everything was great, a nice alternative to the chip truck or, worse, arriving home late, tired, dirty, and hungry, and making a mess in the kitchen.
friendly service (but no dining was allowed) pizza wasnt my favorite
A recommendation from a friend in Kanata brought us to Neat, and are we glad that we followed their recommendation. The interior is a wonderland of mixes, from the chalkboard menus (the artist who does this has better printing than many teachers I've seen) to the melange of tables and chairs. The pizza menu boasts outstanding flavour combinations, and the chef (for she should be one) never failed to deliver on the flavour and the spice. Our servers were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and drink. Printed signs highlight the guest performers that come to play in a separate room off the dining room. The joint obviously rocks solid and hard, as you have a large box of E-A-R plugs on the bar for those that like the ambiance but not the sound. This is one place to keep coming back.
Had the caramelized onion with goat cheese and prosciutto pizza ..... delicious ! Young ladies serving where very nice.
Great lunch after a night of camping. I had the smoked meat sandwich, came with soup and a salad. My boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich with the same sides, and we ordered a side order of wedge fries. I don't know if we were lacking calories from camping, but we both agreed that this is the best restaurant meal we've had in a long time! There was not one thing wrong. The wedge fries came with a beautiful aioli and were spiced nicely, not something I've ever tried before. For me, the smoked meat sandwich was delightful, just the right amount of sauce and ratio of meat to other ingredients. The corn soup was perfect, and this simple little salad went a long way. Top that off with a nice IPA and we were happy campers!! Finally, we sat in their live music room which was fun (despite there being no music) and looked at all the past performers tapered to the walls around us. We are looking forward to coming back and hopefully get a chance to see some live music as we munch this time!
Truly an excellent venue for dinner and a show! Free covid it was neat and cozy and everything was inside ... Near the end of covid the restaurant has adapted beautifully to have indoor meals but outdoor performances so everyone stays safe! Well worth the trip to Burns town from Ottawa! Keep up the great work the excellent food and the fantastic roster of artists that you bring in thank you!
Great experience. Great Coffee. Great Pizza. What a beautiful theatre venue as well. I met one of the owners and Mark was as friendly as can be; without being obsequious. A valley treasure. Bypass the big highway and go this route - you won't be disappointed.
It’s been more than a minute since having the opportunity to enjoy some live music. Seeing the Skydiggers, as part of the #ShedSessions, was an absolute dream. I had a hard time deciding between wood fired creations like the Beatles, John Lennon or Jack White. Ultimately I settled on the butter chicken - and it was delicious. The beer selection is local and features some really great beer. The service was attentive, engaging a friendly, even under the additional pressures of live music show. The show itself, especially as the stars and moon filled the evening sky was magical. I’ll be back.
Awesome, cozy spot for dinner and live music. Definitely have the pizza. I'd been wanting to get here for 3 years and wasn't disappointed when I finally made it there on Saturday for a friend's birthday.
Great pizza, coffee and live music! Awesome staff too
One of my favorite places to see live music. Always a treat
Food is delicious, coffee is great! Love the shows and cannot wait until we can go to one again
Lovely little place with wood-oven pizza. Enjoyed going over the years however - recently I noticed none of the kitchen staff were wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic! Staff breathing on food need to be wearing masks and as well as the severs even when outside (they were as close as 2 feet from customers). Chin-warmers don't count as "wearing". Very disappointed. Be forewarned during these Covid times!
Great food, great beer selection. Worth the trip off of 17 for it.
Local here, so nice to have this cafe nearby. Always love the Ziggy star dust and weird al pizza, coffee is good. Great spot to bike to, stop at after a paddle or have a night out. Worth the drive to check out. There’s also 2 other super cafes close by so you can make a little cafe road trip out of it, if you love coffee/tea and want to support our local businesses (please do!!)
Amazing place! Highly recommend the pizza, coffee, wedges, live music, and general location.
Amazing food, beautiful garden of herbs and vegetables. Perfect little restaurant for a sunny Sunday afternoon
Amazing experience, good food, live band. Nested in a private courtyard. Food was excellent and service. A must to visit.
Kind personnel, good food, delicious homemade pizza, great coffee and lemon meringue pie :-) Nice tables and patio for eating outside where you feel home like in your own backyard.
Our family travels to cottage country for 2-4 weeks annually and being gone from work and home (Saskatchewan) for such long periods, I use Neat Coffee Shop as my travelling work station. I drop-in for 2-7 hours daily while travelling and the staff are absolutely top notch. The staff always has a smile on their face, are helpful, and very friendly, which I appreciate. The staff and ownership make the stay in Burnstown pleasurable and something I talk about back home as the "place to be" if ever in the area. Food - great Beverages - great Coffee - great Staff and hospitality - excellent! I highly recommend to any one int he are to make a stop in. Even though I have been visiting the area for years, I have yet to take in a show (music), but maybe soon :) Stay cool team - thank-you for everything. See you next year.
Great gourmet pizzas, excellent wraps, and awesome coffee! Server was friendly and helpful, and setting is cozy and comfortable. All in all, it is a great choice for either a meal or just meeting a friend for coffee and a snack!
Neat cafe is an incredible venue! The staff is incredible and the food is fantastic! They have a beautiful patio surrounded by plants, trees and flowers! They also have a veggie garden as you approach the building. Their baked goods are a must try! There is a beach just down the road if you are grabbing take out.
My husband and I ate here after skiing at Calabogie Peaks one day. I called to see if they were open and they said they were closing shortly but would be happy stay open to serve us. Already I was loving this place. We both ordered two appetizers and two wood fired pizzas. Our favourite local brewery (Whitewater) was on tap so that was a no brainer. The food was excellent and service was friendly. Since then we are regulars for their local races that start/end at the cafe and are followed by breakfast, lunches and brunches. Great local events for everyone and every caliber of fitness. Highly recommend if you're looking for good food and fun races.
Concert was great, food was ok, but service was horrendous. It was a great reminder that racism is alive and well in this day and age. Tell me why all the caucasian people had their orders taken immediately while myself and my partner were ignored for 25 minutes before we got asked for our drink order. Maybe the servers were young and experienced, but this felt blatant.
I didn't eat here but was blown away at how awesome of a cute, unassuming musical venue this was. A hidden gem with an incredible line-up of regular musical gigs. The outdoor show was perfect... check them out!
Got there and some teenager waitress said they didn't have enough pizza dough to accommodate +8 people, yet there was a huge line up behind waiting to be seated??? Apparently some event was holding them from serving as usual but never knew this served as an excuse to send hungry customers away. Not recommending this place to anyone in Calabogie.
Super awesome thanks. Great food, wonderful service. 100% recommended
Great place for coffee, a meal, or even a whole live show! The staff here are great.
I had a perfect americano coffee and I wish I could have stayed for the music.
I'm glad we drove by this place and gave it a try! We had the chef's special, Chicken Pot Pie, comes with a soup and salad. It was wholesome and delicious, it couldn't have been better. Also got their Jack White wood fired pizza, it was authentic and perfectly crafted. The crust was thin and soft. I finished with a coffee, the Flat White. It was just like it was supposed to be - lightly steamed, minimal foam and just at the right temperature for the milk to taste sweet and balanced (Ex-Barista here :D). They have heated outdoor seating, indoor seating, live music, great service!
Cute spot! Delicious pizzas ????
A beautiful old building with a wonderful, warm vibe. Fantastic venue for live music, great selection of craft beers and completely awesome pizza. Wish we lived close enough to be regulars.
Great music venue with awesome pizza.
Such good food and awesome live music
Cool place to grab some food and see a band. Limited menu on show nights but still a good selection. Wood oven pizzas are quite good, and reasonably priced. The show venue is decent, a little tight and definitely not much room to move around, but good sound and a pretty intimate setting. A bit of a drive but worth it
Great service from the owner and the staff! Very good food (I recommend the pizza dishes), huge portions for a fair price and the chocolate peanut butter dessert squares were absolutely amazing! Will most definitely eat here again when heading out this way!
While I agree the staff is friendly the service and the food left a lot to be desired. The pizza was like sawdust, over cooked and very little sauce. We had the Johnny White and Ziggy Stardust....exactly 4 pieces of sausage on the Johnny.....for $14.99! No thanks. Then we had to wait 15 min to get our servers attention to order coffee and dessert! When we finally got it we were told oh yes the dreams over there! Like your kidding me right....I'm a seated customer paying $3.50 for a coffee and I have to take my coffee to the takeout bar area to put my own cream? How about u put some in the little cream pots that are everywhere. Sorry to say but for $55.00 for two pizzas, coffee and a dessert not worth the price. I'd rather go to Krave Bistro
Lovely place with the first breakfast pizza I ever had. So delicious
We went to the Neat Coffee Shop for dinner and a concert last night, and it was just one of the nicest evenings out I've ever had! Such a sweet, fun place, with EXCELLENT food, great staff, and a wonderful concert venue. The sound was great and the space is so intimate. Everything was so affordable, as well. Just a wonderful time, so casual and friendly! We'll be back as often as we can.
Stop here on our way from Calabogie for lunch. It was delicious! Great, healthy food and a solid selection of beer and other beverages. Met a lot of locals there too.
Great food, coffee and service. First time, but hopefully not my last.
Two girlfriends and I had lunch on Friday past and if was excellent. I had the smoked salmon sandwich/soup/salad combo. Service was good and because of the cool weather, we got date squares to go. At home, they were enjoyed with tea and as always, they were yummy.
Best coffee around. Pizza is amazing. Beer and pizza also amazing!!
My husband and I were driving through on a road trip. We are so glad we turned around to check it out. It was hands down the BEST LATTE and FIRE ROASTED PIZZA of my life! The food and atmosphere of NEAT, quite honestly is worth the eight hour drive from home roundtrip. Great Prices and super happy staff!! A Road Trip Win in our books.
A small, intimate stage that attracts surprisingly popular bands(The Trews,Jake Clemons,Skydiggers,Matt Good among others),great place to see a show. The food and coffee is top notch,a little out of town but only a 45 minute drive from Ottawa and well worth it.l
Very good food and coffee. Nice location
Wonderful place to grab a pizza and beer with friends. Service was super friendly, and the menu is full of interesting choices.
Best chai I tried, better than most known coffee places. I love they have alternative milk options, like soy and almond milk. Desserts are incredible!! Chocolate Zucchini cake, the best. Pizza is made from fired wood oven, yummy.
Highly over rated and over priced food, too trendy for my taste, the oven fire pizza was tasty but very light on toppings 2 inches of crust, the salad 17 dollars, I mean really, it wasn't all that special. In all fairness someone should open a spite restaurant next door charge 40% less for the same menu, more flavourful and better portion, especially crust to pizza ratios. Never caught a live show here due to covid plexi glass in a closed space doesn't cut it for me., but over priced and underwhelming for the price points and portions.
After living in the Valley for 5 years, I'm shocked I didn't discover this spot earlier! The outdoor garden and patio are excellent and offer a quaint setting to have a meal or some drinks. The service matched the ambiance and our server ensured we were well catered to the entire time. Speaking of service, the wood fired oven pizzas were delicious and I highly recommend you try them for yourself. Although I didn't get to experience this when I visited Neat, but they also host live music shows, which I imagine are done to the same high standard as everything else this centerpiece of Burnstown has to offer!
The Neat Cafe is the go to place to listen to live music in a concert setting. Their entertainment is the best of the best. Here are photos from Tom last weekend featuring The Sadie's, Bruce and Margaret Good with bassist, Kevin Luciani. It was a four hour mix of The Sadie's hard driving originals to Bruce and Margaret singing songs penned by the family explaining the importance of Canadian history. Don't miss The Neat and definitely don't miss their top notch line up of entertainment.
Pizza is delicious!! Service is great, they are so attentive and quick. Super casual atmosphere.
The Neat Coffee Shop is a hidden gem in the Ottawa-area live music landscape. You can travel an hour from downtown for a great dinner and a Friday night show in one of the best listening rooms around. The sound is top-notch, and the programming eclectic and excellent.
The pizza and coffee are really good but beware of the staff. They openly prepare foods and drinks MASKLESS. Absolutely not one member of staff had a mask on.
Super hungry after trek to eagles nest. Went and ordered at this place. No refills on water or asked. Pizza burnt for the kids. We mentioned it and the response was it’s oven pizza. Not worth the money.
Live music in an intimate setting that has an amazing vibe. Delicious signature wood fired stone oven pizza and cold craft beers from the area. Amazing talent for an unbelievable price point...you will not be disappointed!
What a place! Unbelievable; 5 stars for service, food, beer selection, concert sound. Can't believe we haven't been sooner. Live two hours away, and will return.
Food is always great, atmosphere is top notch and it’s a wonderful place to watch live music!
The gluten free pizza was great and they have gluten free desserts. It was wonderful to sit out and enjoy a beautiful fall day with all of the leaves changing color and all socially distant. Can't wait to go back!
Great pizza and charcuterie board. Charcuterie is listed as an appetizer but can easily feed two people. Pizza creations are delicious. My favorite is the Lennon. Atmosphere is wonderful. Great craft beer selection. And they respect safety during COVID. Worth the trip to Burnstown amdbthem some. Hope so see some music there someday.
We've just been here this afternoon after a hike in Eagle's Nest and I would say it's worth the wait for the wood fired pizza. Pizza taste good and crispy. Our server is also nice and friendly.
Neat is a little gem in the very picturesque town of Burnstown. Delicious pizzas made in a wood burning pizza oven and great salads. Cocktails are good too. But best of all are the live music shows. During the pandemic, Neat has pivoted to outdoor shows and they are wonderful. We saw the Sheepdogs two weeks ago and it is just awesome to see these bands in such an intimate setting. My only advice is to bring bug spray because for that half hour around dusk the mosquitoes can be a little bothersome.
One of my all-time favourite places. Not as far from the city as most may think. I was door to door from Kanata in 35 minutes. I've seen many shows here and the sound is always great. Really good pizza and coffee and a decent selection of beers on the bar side. Highly recommend anyone making the trip out there for a show or even just to grab a coffee or bite to eat.
Good ambience, great food, countryside vibes, loved it ???? Highly recommend
Stopped in for my second time in the past few weeks and had an amazing lunch.. Last visit was the Tuna Melt and soup special. Today was the John Lennon Pizza. Both were excellent. The serving staff were attentive and friendly with huge smiles which made our visit wonderful. The Mandarin carrot cake was super delicious. So to Mark, Dawn , Jamie & Lucas - thanks for wonderful lunch. Keep it real and you will do just amazing we are sure. See you again soon. Paul & Colleen.
If you need a reason to visit neat it's definitely for the specialty drinks! The location is quiet and quaint with friendly staff who won't make you feel forgotten or bothered. My experience had a party of 4 and we all loved the wood fired pizza. The salmon smoked tapas were a hit with everyone as well! Will be returning again!
OMG what a great place. Located in Burnstown, just outside of Calabogie. We were looking for a good cup of coffee while we were exploring the area. Best latte ever!!! Had a western sandwich to die for!!! Plus this place rocks, literally. The walls are covered in posters of groups that have played there, and I mean big name performers. My guess is that the pine flooring bounces like crazy when the entertainment starts. If you're cruising the Calabogie area, don't miss The Neat.
Great venue for an outdoor concert. Great food. Great service.
Fabulous concert venue, delicious food and super friendly staff made for a great Friday evening out!
Worth going out of your way for! Had a peanut butter square and iced chai latte, and both were excellent. Every other drink and dish looked well done, too. Beautiful location!
Second time here. Great pizza, drink selection, beautiful building and outdoor seating. Service was slow and inattentive. Felt as if we were forgotten about a couple times. Actually we were definitely forgotten about while waiting 40 mins in the parking lot for an outdoor table, only to walk back and see multiple tables free without notifying us. If the service improved this place would be perfect!
Wow!!! What a lookout.... and almost in our backyards!!! ..a bit of a walk in the woods to get there, indications not super clear, but we'll worth the exploration for the reward from the view!! Simply breathtaking!!????????
Neat Cafe located at crossroads in Burnstown has a nice variety of local craft beers. Great Patio service with social distancing and picnic tables set up. One of the few places you can take your well mannered dogs and Neat Cafe provides bowls of water for the pooches. The atmosphere is casual but food is very fresh, locally sourced and delicious. Salad dressing homemade with plenty of garlic. Would definately recommend!!
Great food and service. We will definitely come back!
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!! Food was exceptional and great service. Awesome for outdoor dining in COVID-19.
We stopped here for a coffee and some pastries. We tried the breakfast cookies and they were amazing!!! Our friend that recommended the place has been coming here often and highly suggested it for a meal as well. Can't wait to come back to try it.
25 min wait just for the waitress to ask our drink selection. The waitress had problems remembering our order but didn't write it down, then proceed to get offended when a pen was offered so she could write it down. When our order showed up it was wrong. When we finally did receive our correct order it was burnt. During our dining experience, we asked for water 4 separate times and didn't receive it until the fifth time we asked. Overall the service was mediocre at best, and the food was poor.
