Fika is Swedish inspired coffee shop that sits among the busy and crowded streets of Kensington. I would have figured it be a peaceful reprieve from the hippie crowd... annnd it wasn't. Inside it is ridiculously busy with some seating but you'll find people just sitting nursing a drink for a table for 3 themselves. So for an actual hang out or coffee spot, it's not a great spot but it's probably the best in Kensington aside from Jimmy's. So the space is quaint, small, and packed ... it has the most amazing wall in the back area. There isnt a lot of spots around TO that makes an immediate 'ohhh wow' impact. That wall of books would be one of them. It's very cool. We did find the service here quite chill, friendly (they smiled back!), and fairly quick especially considering the constant flow of people coming in for a coffee. It's buzzing here. They do offer a small collection of baked goods that run with the Swedish flavour preferences... cardamom seeds, cinnamon sticks, orange peel, dried whole ginger root and whole cloves are normal spices they use and it's definitely represented in their baked goods here. Flat White Almond Milk - Smooth and well balanced with the almond milk, this flat white was very well done & kudos to the barista for making clear lines on the design. Not many baristas can do that with almond milk. I did find they had more microfoam than just a minimal amount of fluffy foam on top which makes happy that these barista knows the difference. A good cup to be had! 4/5 Cardamom Spiced Latte - I've had cardamom spiced coffee when I'm in Dubai and found it a nice compliment but with this particular cup, it was more enjoyable. I detected another spice (cinnamon?) in addition to the sugar syrup to make a nice tempered sweetness that compliments the espresso. It was a nice taste and a decent alternative to my favourite flavoured espresso drink Lover's Latte from Strange Love. 4/5 If you're in Kensington and dying for a good cup to go, I would recommend Fika as a solid choice. It might not be a place to chill... not cause its a bad place necessarily but you'll find the tables hogged up by people oblivious to others and take up the entire 4 chairs by themselves & their bag.

Love the Fika iced latte so much, the best iced coffee in the city. Bought a bag of beans for home and they're very good! Love this cozy place so much

2020.10.16. The noontime walk was to FIKA Cafe in the Kensington area. A busy place with little stores and markets. I like the area. We had 2 hot Americanos, a Fika cookie, iced tea, and their special Swedish type of donuts they are called "Semla" made from brioche cardamom bun filled with housemade almond paste and whipped cream.

B K

Cute cafe that always had a great vibe. Only patio seating is open for now due to covid restrictions, but happy to see the book wall again.

Trystan Goetze

Found this cafe on a cold day in February a couple years ago. It pays tribute to its namesake with the nordic-inspired cozy, simple, and unique interior. Music is great, the owners are really lovely. It's like going over to someone's house. Really enjoyed the lattes and lavender hot chocolate here!

Jackie Moore

Probably the best coffee in Toronto. Get the cinnamon roll, it’s like crack

Big Jo Kristiansen

Charming little Nordic-style cafe with a small selection of Swedish baked goods like cinnamon buns; however, the crowning achievement has to be the fact that Fika makes semlor!!!! I.e. cream-filled cardamom bombs! This truly is one of the Swedish baked goods you must try - and this one is excellent. - Mimi's Cake Tour

This is my favourite place in Kensington Market to get a coffee, or any caffeinated beverage. I love the vibe and the unique choices of coffee-drinks available, like the cardamon coffee.

Mishi Papik

Local cafe with comfortable couches and absolutely delicious coffee. Highly recommend the cardamon latte and the chai tea latte. The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. Front and back patio is awesome for a summer day. There are a few practical things to keep in mind: 1. It's a small cafe so when it gets busy it might be hard to find a seat, 2. They have hours when there's no wifi, which encourages conversation but if you are looking to do work, keep that in mind. 3. Extra for non-dairy milk and lactose free milk. Not the end of the world and its standard practice so completely understandable.

Itanni Betancourt

Lovely café with specialty drinks, small 2-person tables and a study table in the back. I saw a member of Hey Rosetta! on the patio one summer!! That’s how you know it’s a cool place.

Rachel Xie

Loved the coffee selection. Hidden gem in Kensington Market.

Andrea Boland

One of my favorite cafes! I had a microground earl grey tea latte, and since they use microground tea it remains super creamy and not watery. They also use minor figures oat milk which is the best milk alternative, in my opinion! My sister also had a lavender white hot chocolate which was sweet and cozy. Their playlist is also amazing!!

Ahmet Kul

One of my favourite coffee shops downtown Toronto. Serving great Pilot coffee, amazing chocolate hazelnut brownie. Nice outdoor area in the back and the front. All around great experience.

Nikki Chiu

I took my Australian friend here for a coffee. We both got oat milk flat white and were in heaven. The consistency of the milk provided the smooth taste in our mouths. She also ordered salmon sandwich with a side of salad which she enjoyed very much.

FIKA is an adorable and charming coffee shop in Kensington Market. It's the perfect place to read a book, study and chat with friends. The staff is lovely. I recommend all their beverages but the cardamom iced coffee and the lavender white hot chocolate are my favorites. It can get very busy sometimes but if you go early enough, you'll be sure to find a spot where to sit.

Lorenzo Cinco

Neatly decorated, cozy space with excellent staff and a nice twist on standard café drinks. I had their iced coffee which was excellent and came topped with fresh mint. Interior seating is available if a touch limited but their street side patio is a great place to people watch while taking a break and their backyard patio is an oasis in the heart of the city.

Amit Nehil

Definitely try the cardamom spiced latte! My go to coffee place in Kensington

Anita Windisman

Authentic and cozy! Fika is the Swedish word for going out to get a coffee. They offer the lovely cardamom buns that I remember eating in Stockholm. I also had the cardamom latte, which paired nicely. There is seating outside in the front, AND in the back. A great place for a coffee break.

Richard Cunha

Incredible atmosphere and coffee. I highly recommend if you are in the area

Luis Latour

Very friendly. Good coffee. Relaxing atmosphere in the inner courtyard.

Davey TEO

Lovely and sweet cafe with ample seating indoors and outdoors. The cafe is nicely decorated and would make a nice date night for two. They offer a variety of hot and cold beverages with a variety of pastry options. They also have a free water station for those thirsty people.

murathan biliktü

I love going to Fika! It has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere :) Their coffee is one of the best around! Cardamom latte is my fav here.

Aditya Ahuja

Absolute fav coffee spot in Toronto. Incredible coffee, best cinnamon buns. Staff is super nice and helpful!

Wendy Fowler

Really sweet place to chill with coffee. Swedish style. Nice terrasse in the back and on the front for Summer and sun shining days

Megan Tyrell

Fika is definitely one of my favourite Toronto cafes. Not only are the food and drinks delicious, the decor is unique and welcoming. A must try is the cardamom spiced lattes and any of the cardamon spices treats!

Nicholas La Roux

The cardamon spiced latter is fantastic! Very cute and cozy place. I’ve come here every time I’ve visited Toronto!

Mel Bail

Had amazing customer service over the holidays! Helped me surprise my office with some delicious freshly baked Christmas treats but also went above and beyond with a Christmas card added. Love this place, what a gem in the city ❤

Mar H

Love this place! Fika is a classic swedish cafe at the heart of Kensington market, surrounded by cute boutique and second hand stores. With both front and back patios this place is must visit. Try the cardamom bun along your favorite coffe.

Hydi Ng

This cafe is an excellent choice for people who like organic pastries and drinks. even if you don't, I would recommend you to at least visit it once. The place is cozy and good for studying or group work, basically it is the place that i would go if i'm out of ideas, and i want time to treat myself.

Ravi Raj

Went here for the first and I have to say I was impressed. Their FIKA latte is really great with unique flavors - highly reccomend checking out.

YJ

Love this quaint coffee shop located in Kensington! This place can get quite busy as it is small but the space does open up in the summer as there is space in the back and in the front. Love the minimalism here, the ambiance, the environment- it’s so cute!

Dana Young

This place is so unique, from the wall filled with books to the location of this coffee place and the decor... it’s all very breathtaking. I love finding gems like this and this is defiantly a good place to grab a coffee and freshly baked goods..just sit and enjoy a book while sipping on your coffee!

Jake Mcauley

My lemonade and my mint/jam cookie were TASTY! The one barista did this thing where he smacked the mint leaf, I'm assuming to like release the flavour, before garnishing the drinks with it. Cute little café, nice atmosphere, will likely return the next time I'm in Kensington. The espresso lemonade must be an acquired taste though.

Roei Weiss

The best iced cardamom latte!

Very cute cafe with great use of the space to ensure seating. Their page wall is interesting to read as you gather bits of pieces of stories. The Lavender White Hot Chocolate and Mulled Elderberry Tea are an excellent and tasty way to warm up on a cool day!

Saša Milić

Loved FIKA. Atmosphere is great to have a good conversation with a friend of yours. Small in size, however during Summer the pation in the back is open and it looks wonderful. Check out the wall full of photos there. Coffee is quite and quite deicious.

Kayla Beisel

ice latte is decent though the cardamom was not very noticible; espresso + tonic with a lemon slice was a nice touch

Jonathan Broadbent

It’s rare that you find a coffee shop that is personable, local and makes a variety of really great coffee. Fika is exactly that. We were lucky to be served by the owner, Yedi, who showed us his whole pour over method. The beans sourced by Fika come from a wide variety of ethical roasters. The brew was divine. A great place to go for speciality coffee.

Ingrid U.

My daughters and I drove down to have brunch on the front patio. We had cinnamon buns, bacon sandwiches and a veggie sandwich. We also had iced coffees and enjoyed all of it! My daughters said it was best iced coffee they ever had and we ended up with bottles of iced coffee to go! The sandwiches were delicious! Well worth the drive down and we will be back!

Istvan Molnar-Szakacs

Nice vibe to this place. Got the Fika lemonade (freshly squeezed lemon juice, elderflower essence, rose water, simple syrup) a much needed drink on a hot day! Decided to enjoy the weather and sat at their patio at the back. Has a nice hammock, benches and patio sets. Inside, they have couches and a huge table with seats (I'm guessing students come here to study). Also love that they have a book wall!

Alexia Khaou

A very lovely coffee place in Kensington Market. Good coffee and pastries. Staff are pretty nice too. Sometimes it's hard to find a seat. Other than that, I love going to this place.

Jordan Toohey Carignan

Cosy cafe, great coffee, nice selection of coffee-making related items on sale as well

LARGE ONE

Wonderful atmosphere that takes you on a little mini-staycation to Scandinavia. Great staff ! and food offerings are delicious and wholesome. Coffee is great too. On my list of top cafés in the city... for changing up your scenery to write, read, catch up with your emails or catch up with friends. The bathroom downstairs offers a diaper changing station. Awesome place all around, thanks for keeping it that way for so long :)

Jason

Friendly service. Good coffee. The backyard patio area is the big seller!

Chris Ashton

This place is awesome!! Really great selection of coffee paraphernalia, some awesome baked treats, get one! They carry some unique coffee beans from various roasters. Felt very safe , good pandemic protocol, highly recommend!

Julie Tu

How I miss Kensington during the lockdown. This is one of the best cafes in Toronto & not just around Kensington. It’s not their beverages that appeal to me. They have a distinct interior. I just love the inner seating area with lots of books just thrown around on the wall. I love reading and such a background makes it a great place to read.

Kev Mercader

I usually visit here every year with my friends around lent season when they make Swedish semlas. Overall, their pastries taste great! My only request is that they make more pastries since they tend to run out of them pretty early.

Damian Kozak

Just had brunch in there place, latte and sandwich are really great, it a really goood atmosphere and good spot to hang out with friend.

Araya Rimsamutchai

One of the best cafes in Toronto. Beautiful interior and cups. The cardamom latte was amazing!

Tasha Mamani

FIKA Cafe is such a cute, cozy spot. It's pretty small but they do have seating on their front patio, front of store, back of store, and back patio. I love the interior design; it's very homey and comfortable. I've had their cookies and hot chocolate -- both are delicious. The staff are friendly, and welcoming. Definitely would revisit or recommend to others!

Alex Norton

Fika means tea time in Swedish ! It’s a cute cafe with nice food and drinks! They only offer wifi during the weekdays, hence gets busy !

Raneal Engineer

At the time of this post using Pilot coffee, which is amazing. Beautiful patio in the summer. Cozy interior for the winter. Great sandwiches and chocolates. Cardamom latte is very best.

Halli Berry

We had such a lovely time at this cafe. The garden in the back is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Kensington market. The carrot ginger muffin is delicious, and so is the hot chocolate ! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is peaceful and zen. Love the artful decor. We will be back for sure.

Ivan “Vanya” Romanenko

This cozy Swedish-inspired café is one of my favourite spots in the city, and no matter what you look for in a café you’re not going to be disappointed! All my tips are below! - Great coffee from Pilot, but also try their signature hot chocolate/lemonade! - Delicious and vegan-friendly food, but not so many options that it’s overwhelming. Loving their chocolate bars! - Beautiful space with lots of sun, large windows and two patios! I can spend hours here, even alone. - Common table with community events at the back, or tiny tables at the front if you don’t want to share. - Free Wifi with Facebook check-in, or password at the counter, so no awkwardness! I love that there’s no wifi on weekends (except winter), so people who just want a coffee can hang out. - Insta-worthy, from Kensington exterior to the book wall to the nosh and even the menus! It’s definitely got a hipster vibe, but not too pretentious. It’s often full of regulars, so the first-time grams rarely get in your way. - Baristas are kind and super patient! I always need a minute to decide, and I’ve even asked a barista to experiment with my drink before! She agreed but warned me the flavours may not mesh like the original, and even followed up to see if it was okay or I needed something else! I can think of several other cafes that would have flat out refused me. - Space is at a premium, so if you’re coming with six friends you may not be able to find a seat, esp in winter. However they do rent the space out!

Cian Tormey

Ordered an Americano with milk and sugar and the barista asked me to tell him how much water I wanted (to tell him "when" as he poured it). I've never been asked that, and as someone who doesn't make themself Americanos I didn't know how much to ask for. Super awkward interaction. After watching him pour the water, espresso and milk, I left my drink on the counter waiting for him to add the sugar, and after waiting a minute or so I asked him if he added the sugar, he said yes. I figured he added it in before the water ????‍♀️ He didn't. I didn't notice until I had walked out and sipped it. Not worth the price.

Matei Ionita

Fantastic experience! The staff very friendly and helpful. The music was calm and wonderful. The backyard garden patio was the height of tranquility. Last but not least, the cardamom latte was delicious.

Kathi185

Such a cute and lovely café! I got the best hot chocolate ever in Toronto. Also great vegan options with different milk alternatives:) and the house is just perfect!

Ellen Wong

Now is the time to order excellent Swedish SEMLAs!! Don't snooze or you'll loose out on these seasonal delicious treats! Go to their WebStore to pre-order as you can only pick them up at FIKA Cafe on Saturdays and Sundays.

Sebastián Oreamuno

Super cozy and great for art work and inspiration. Hot chocolate had too much milk but good still....

Irene Wong

Iced latte is so good. I love the right amount of milk and the neutral taste of coffee.

Justine Soucy

Awesome little coffee shop in Kensington market near vintage shops. The interior has a clean and cozy design and the front deck is perfect for a morning coffee and some sun. Had a great chat with the owner and ate The breakfast sandwich was also very nice.

Julie Zhang

A great place to study! Everything that I have tried is very delicious. It is busy most of the time, and they have free WiFi. Staff are all amazing people. If you plan on coming more than once make sure you start a punch card as well.

Philippe Alberigo

It has really good vibes! And this sandwich with Americano combo is highly recommended ????????✨

Shanny Foo

This place is BEAUTIFUL! It's a must-see in the heart of Kensington Market. Although the cafe is pretty small in size, they have a great room at the back with an accent wall made up entirely of paperbacks! They also have a nice seating alcove by a faux-fireplace at the front, and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting, especially on a rainy fall or winter day. Their drip coffee is excellent, and the cappuccino was great as well! Service was outstanding! 10/10 would recommend, although do yourself a favour and go during the week or during off-peak hours.

Moreen Murray

There's a very warm, modern feel here. Amazing cardomom latte (and iced in the summer has mint). Really lovely desserts and food. The patio in the back is beautifully relaxed.

Cici Yang

This is my favourite cafe spot in Toronto. It's the cutest, coziest space you'll find -- with the best lavender white chocolate I've ever had. A mug of that flavourful velvet and a great book or friend to keep you company ???? you're set.

Shana Rose

Fika is one of my favourite cafes in Kensington Market. They have a few tables in the front and a large table for sharing in the back room ( the one with all of the books). The washroom is downstairs. They also have a back patio that is useful for more space in the summer. The coffee is good, and I love their Swedish cinnamon buns. They also have gingerbreads in the shape of their logo. Also an assortment of books about coffee to read.

Max Marcus

Salmon was fresh enough to make me happy for the meal! Thanks amazing

Marcio Del Valle y Araujo

I go for the cinnamon buns but they are usually sold out within an hour of opening...it's a little annoying because I'll make my way there only for them to be gone, they should make more than one batch if they are so popular.

Adam Ford

Cosy and lazy vibe in this lovely Scandinavia style cafe. Service is great and great place for friends gathering. Food was both exquisite and yummy

Theresa Lee

Very nice service, friendly staff, good vibe and food. Place gets crowded during the weekend. I found the food portion little small compare to the price but it was good.

Jessica Hoang

A cute little cafe in Kensington market. I first found this cafe with a friend since they were having a Christmas ornament decorating workshop, which was super fun. The coffee and dessert selection was also good. It's a nice spot to sit down and enjoy coffee with a book.

MeyTal Soffer

Great Place wonderful coffee.

Sarah AB

They do not take amex - the girl who served me was kind enough to offer me my cold tea without purchase because they don't take amex and it was all I had - very beautiful spot - loved the ambiance and the music. Patio was really nice to hangout with friends and I look forward to go back there again soon.

Micah Cooper

Great little place - beautifully decorated interior with nice front porch. There's a big communal table to sit & work during the day as well. Good brunch spot to catch up with your friends.

Joe A

This cafe is so adorable and the food is really delicious and fresh. I had a quick bite - avocado toast with tomatoes and spouts, and an iced almond milk latte. It was perfect ???? sat outside in the back patio in the sun with a friendly black cat. Very chill and relaxing. Coffee was delicious. Can't wait to go back :)

Jay Kerr

Little cozy place with great coffee and great food!

Nathalie Pedro

My girlfriend loves the cardamom latte, but I don't drink coffee. I did try the latte and it was amazing. The baked goods, especially the poached pear pastry and Swedish cinnamon bun, were to die for.

Kiran Friesen

I've had a Cortado and the FIKA iced drink and was disappointed with both. The environment is pretty chill and it's nice that they have a patio at the front and back. If you're looking for a place to chill and don't mind so so coffee this is a good place.

Chelsea Stilwell

Lovely coffee, cool decor, friendly staff, fantastic cinnamon buns all in the quirky Kensington Market

Vanessa L

Really friendly service! Love their cardamom latte and beet latte. They currently have a promotion (Saturdays in April) where you can get your drink for free if you try it with Sproud, a pea-based milk alternative!

Christie Wong

This café is one of my favourite places in Kensington Market. It's a perfect place to hang out with a friend, especially on cold/grey/rainy days. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Additionally, I like a few of the unique/different items on the menu you wont really find in other places in Toronto like the cardamom buns.

Sherman Tsang

One of my favorite cafe

justin bowden

This cafe is honestly so adorable. The book wall in the back is beautiful for using as a photo background. Its a small hole in the wall place that is well worth hunting down. Not the easiest place to access but if you are doing things in the area it is definitely great to stop by. Prices are really good considering the work that goes into their products.

Tallitha Campos

This cute little cafe does wonderful food and good drinks. It’s a lovely spot to sit for a while and watch the world go by.

If it was possible for a place to be hipster in the best possible way FIKA is it. Their decor is fabulously simple and homey. Everything from their tables and couches in the front, old book wall, and back patio is just wonderfully done it's the perfect place to meet up with someone to catch up. In summer it feels bright and in winter it feels cozy. The staff are friendly and their drinks and food are good as well. Definitely try their Lavender White Hot Chocolate if you want something to warm you up.

Brenden Nichol

Lovely Scandinavian style cafe in a heritage house. Excellent coffee from the local Pilot roasters. They’re one of only a few places in Toronto that makes a proper cortado, and their cardamom latte — made with cardamom scented bitters — is also great. The food is delicious, both the pastries and open-faced sandwiches, though a little on the expensive side for the area. The front space has plenty of small tables for socializing with a friend; the back room has a large communal table for getting some work done. A great place to meet up or study.

Austin Graff

Cosy, small and cute place for a short hangout. The place has its interesting simple interiors; that changes with plants, or photographs of others. Their coffee is well brewed and I am particularly impressed by the different kinds of sandwiches (unique), including avocado. Summers make the Pario a good place to sit and enjoy a moment of chat.

Tiyasha

Amazing selection of coffees, knowledgeable and friendly baristas. Would have loved to stay and chat with them all day. I had a really funky Gesha and a beautiful iced tea. Must go for the coffee geeks

Angel Lo

Great coffee Had a cappuccino followed by a spiced cardamon latte....and a tumeric ginger latte

Xinger Zheng

I ordered latte. It was good. And there was a cute shop.I could use WiFi and washroom. I was able to spend a comfortable time.

May El Ali

Such a cute coffee shop with great roasts. Got an Americano and enjoyed sitting in the back patio while soaking in a little Fall sun. Wait wasn't long at all and baristas are super friendly!

Kia Stanford

Great spot to totally unwind. We had a delicious sandwich with fresh salmon and cream cheese, with beetroot on the side. The espresso was well balanced and made with love and care.

Karen L

Came here for breakfast before our Art Gallery visit! What a cute little neighbourhood with colorful houses all around. Their terrace is comfortable and not too busy. We went on a Sunday morning and it only got busy after we were done eating. I ordered their breakfast bacon sandwich with extra avocado and it was so good. Perfect way to start the day. I didn't like their lemonade though. It was too sour for me.

John Graham

One of my favourite cafés in Toronto. Really like the cardamom latte, the iced tea in the summer, and the cinnamon buns always. Great place to stop for a break when walking around and chill a bit in the backyard (in non-covid times).

Mohammad Emami

Two stars for couple reason, the espresso appears watered down … reasons: Not skillful in making good espresso + maybe the roasted beans are not to begin with. I would give one star, but give two because their sweets are okay. One thing I liked was the transparent lids.

Medeea Leonte

Coffee was great. Amazing service. The street that the coffee shop is located on. Has some really cool shops also. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back

Arlene

FIKA is a local gem in Kensington market that sells delicious coffee and baked treats. I was admittedly late to the game in discovering this cafe that serves great unique drinks like cardamom lattes and lavender white hot chocolate. If you like the warmth of spice, I highly recommend the cardamom spiced latte with either oat milk or the Sproud pea milk, which is equally delicious hot or iced! FIKA sells tasty cookies and cinnamon buns, and other products that go well with coffee, like flavoured honeys, jams, milk alternatives, and coffee making paraphernalia. They have porch seating in front of the cafe, to take in the bustling Kensington activities, but also have a quieter courtyard in the back with plenty of space for physical distancing. Check out the literary wall en route to the back patio which is covered floor to ceiling in books and written works.

Hanan Almarzooqi

Amazing coffee and homemade pastries. Ingredients are fresh and they really cater to your tastes and needs. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Nice ambianace to study, chat with a friend, or just relax. Simply one of the best!

Jonathan Dupras

Great café located in Kensington. Do stop by as the atmosphere is wonderful and the decor is quite nice. I really enjoy the social vibe of the café during weekends since the WiFi is disabled from April to September, giving it a more communal energy. Great coffee from Pilot is served here as well as a very tasty iced coffee!

Alex H

Pros: FIKA is in the heart of the Kensington Market (bonus points right there). The aesthetics in this place are on point, starting with their front and back patios (featuring a tree covered hammock to bring your favorite book) and their Instagram worthy book-covered wall. Try their signature FIKA Cardamom Spiced Latte for the ultimate experience. If you're looking for a place to work/study, this is definitely a good spot as there's lots of space to sit and free wifi. Cons: Lunch here was $20+ and I was hungry again by 3pm. My choice was their Smoked Salmon and Microgreens open-faced sandwich + an iced coffee - it was delicious, albeit pricey for what it was.

heliotrope

Great Scandinavian inspired decor and a quiet place to study away from the hustle of Kensington market. The coffee is excellent and the book wall makes for great pictures. However, the lemonade is a bit over priced for $5 at a small cup that doesn't not taste significantly different from store bought lemonade.

Brogan G-C

The food is very tasty and the staff are always nice, however I have other issues. First off being that they stop selling food at 4 pm, whereas other small cafes sell food right until closing. On top of that, there aren't enough vegan options. Not saying they should make everything vegan as that would not make sense, but at the very least they should consider making more vegan food. I am hoping that the cafe can work on this soon if they are able to.

Veronica B

This small and adorable cafe in Kensington Matket area was unique. Nice pastries, sandwiches and breakfast all day, as well as many different drunks. Spiced latte seemed to be very popular. I had brunch stuff and the food was very good. I loved it! Their coffee selections are awesome as well. It is the perfect place if you are looking for some quiet time to read books or to catch up your friends. In addition, there are lots of students there to study. A must for a quiet rest and a coffee when you are in Kensington Market!

Daniela B.

Cute little coffe shot, baristas and other employees are kind and offer a great service. Baked goods are home made, different than what usually found in other coffee shop and pretty good. Place tends to be a little crowded, probably much better in the summer with their patio!

Shinichi Tatsumi

The ice coffee here is great! Everytime I am in the area I always have to grab one!

venkat iyer

Small, but nice atmosphere. Sometimes difficult to find seating. Liked the mocha over the latte.

Danbee Eom

Super cool place! Amazing coffee & most unique brownie with salted caramel & lavender! Really friendly staff!!!

Mikael

This is one of the prettiest cafes to study or read in. They have indoor and outdoor, front and back seating areas, with plenty of sunshine. Music is pleasant and calming. There's usually lots of people, right up to closing time, but generally quiet enough to study or get work done. Crowd tends to be a bit more mature than similar cafes in the area. The barista was thoughtful about not adding too much syrup, friendly in explaining menu items, and flexible about making off menu drinks/modifications.

Kelsey C

Didn’t get to try the cinnamon bun, but the coffee and breakfast sandwich were delicious. Coffee in particular is pilot beans and expertly made.

Crystal Cao

Took a friend here and we both fell in love. The hot chocolate is beyond amazing (get it with oat milk) and the ginger snaps are perfect. The whole cafe feels familiar, warm and cozy. Perfect.

Laurella Jose

This is a fantastic coffee shop to go spend a few minutes in or the afternoon. The coffee and baked goods are on point. Food menu was fresh and bright. The atmosphere is homey and relaxed. I will definitely be back.

Ioana Chiorean

One of the coziest cafes in all of Toronto. That combined with the delicious food and great coffee makes this place a must go.

Ali Nikdel

Great potato salad with smoked salmon sandwich. Loved the pickled onion with the salmon and the fresh dill on the potato salad. Lovely shady back garden and helpful service. If you need a cool, quiet break from downtown Toronto this secret garden is the spot!

Christina Jones

Beautiful, cozy space very inspiring work place

Kevin Wang

The cafe itself is really tiny but comforting at the same place. Specially the couches they have beside the cash counter. Situated in between the Kensington market, Fika probably completes everything that is needed to be in that place. I have visited other more cafes around that area but their customer service is awesome and the staff is really friendly and welcoming. Also, it is a nice and quiet place for for those who want to work at some less noisy place.

Elliot Galbraith

Their blood orange espresso shot drink is amazing - they have a very covid safe set up and are always friendly. Super cute place, very Instagram approved. They’re the sellers for this amazing jam company too called Worthy - which is worth a trip in for!

Eugenia Ochoa

Lovely patio, the lemonade is really good !

A Cartier

Spent a lovely afternoon here in the sunshine. It's the perfect place to read or work on your laptop, with a hammock out back and a decent menu. It can get busy- people are catching on! My favourite cafe in Toronto.

Tanemara Ibrahim

I was so impressed with there beet spiced latte and the staff were very pleasant, one of my new favourite coffee spots, I would recommend this place highly!

Great place to hang out, chill and do work. The coffee is awesome and the eats (both savory and sweet) are really good. It is a little pricey but it's completely worth it.

Claus Kao

Always hits the spot. Great coffee, amazing cardamom buns.

Rommy Elabi

Their decor is nice but we ordered an espresso and lemonade. Espresso was the worst espresso I had in my life. I asked the lemonade to be served in the glass but they served it in plastic cups for us. Lemonade was OK nothing especial. Their WiFi was off . Totally it was a waste of money!

Prachy Mohan

Was not impressed with this coffee. It seemed to be done in a rush - understandable, sure - but was not the quality I would expect for the $4.50. The interior is nice and the staff are pleasant, but it's less quality than what you can find in the same area.

Their cardomom latte and white lavender hot chocolate are divine! The space is beautiful inside and out, with a wall of books that never fails to make new visitors' jaws drop. In the summer, their backyard, complete with a hammock, makes for a wonderful reprieve in the heart of the city. Note to students and freelancers: on weekends, they disactivate their WiFi and you'll be hard-pressed to find a seat.

Sirat A.

A really nice little cafe serving homemade swedish cinnamon buns and nice ice tea. There's outdoor seating. No wifi on weekends.

Excellent little coffee shop offering creative drinks. We got the cardamom latte and the lavender white hot chocolate and both were lovely. Not too sweet, really awesome drinks. Will definitely be back!

Gaven Zhang

One of my favourite cafes in the city. The decor is wonderful and the space is very cozy. I really like the cinnamon rolls here and the cardamom latte is fantastic.

Mary C

My favourite cafe in the city. It has a European feel like so many other places in Toronto attempt and fail to achieve. Staff are friendly and relaxed, making you feel welcome. It has a great combination of feeling cosy but also airy and open. Warning: The cardamom latte may not make you want to drink any other latte ever again. Also, definitely grab a selfie in front of the book wall before you depart!

Linda Rose

The vegan carrot muffin was amazing (coming from a non-vegan). I need to try their coffee next! It must be good because it was packed and there was no place to sit (which is the only real draw back).

Chloe Lindy

Phenomenal coffee, extremely friendly barista and a wonderful place to come back to again and again! delicious cinnamon roll & hot chocolate too. amazing variety of coffee beans for sale & drip coffee. my fav!

Linette Rodriguez

Amazing FIKA Iced Coffee, never had anything like it. The cardamom and fresh mint was a very nice touch. Place would be perfect if indoors had AC. Patio is very nice, but was full when I went.

Marjolaine G

Went for a coffee here whilst working in Kensington market and was happy with the service. The coffee itself is good. Unfortunately there were no baked goods left as I came back at the end of the day. They have a back and front patio for seating space which is great.

Vincent Liu

Owner is great and the decor is wonderful. The cardamom latte is a tasty coffee drink and if you do not want coffee, their earl grey late is delightful

Cristina Lopez Espeso

My favourite coffee shop in Toronto. They have hammock in their patio during summer time! It’s a great place to hangout and work. WiFi is not super fast but it’s good.

Martina Landry

I had a cold tea it was good on a hot day

Rovita Malcolm

The best Semla this side of the Atlantic. We just had a hetvägg and loved it. ....coming back soon

Maria Ljungmark

Cute and cozy place. Went on a Saturday so the seating was a bit sparse and drink service took a bit of time (baristas were working very diligently though, just the cafe was busy!). Food is brought to your seat which is nice! Ordered the smoked salmon open faced sandwich with a fennel slaw and it was delicious albeit small. It was a bit expensive for the size. Before coming consider your budget. For my drink I had the chai latte which was lukewarm unfortunately. Overall it's a great place. Try and catch it during slow hours and know what you want to spend before coming.

This place is a gem! Great coffee and food with a relaxing atmosphere and a nice place to take a break. FIKA is a great place to visit when you are in Kensington Market. I'm looking forward to going back.

I have been meaning to try this place and finally got to get a flat white and a gluten free brownie there. Both were great. Cafe also has a friendly relaxing vibe that I enjoyed.

laura vandriel

The customer service was excellent. Drinks were good- cardamom latte was excellent. They had a cardamom cookie and shortbread with jam that were great.

Philip Bergqvist

Cute and simple little cafe. It was very busy (around 1pm on a rainy Sunday)with limited seating. Cappuccino and ginger carrot cake were very good. Music and vibe was good. Much more seating on front and back patio when not raining. Definitely would come back

Kaitlin McAloney

This is a Kensington Ave gem. It's cute, clean, well lit, and staff is really nice! When it's safe enough, they also have an outdoor patio you can enjoy. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Martina

Service is slow and my order got forgotten. I got a cookie as an apology but on a limited lunch hour (from 1-2) I wasn't a fan of the delay. Food is good atmosphere is wonderful. If you have the time its a great little spot.

Megumi N

I have never actually dined here, but have hung out here a few times with friends. They have two great patios, and a hammock! I tried to get my boyfriend to swing in the hammock with me, but alas, I seem to be the only "rebel" in the relationship. My friends have ordered their hot and cold coffees, and it was a hit and miss for them. For example, one friend ordered Fika's signature coffee, made with espresso, milk, cardamom bitters, simple syrup & fresh mint - which sounded delicious to me. But according to my friend, "it was an interesting taste at the beginning - one that I thought I would like. But by the third sip, I was over it. The flavor combination did not do it for me." Those that ordered the less fancy coffees had no complaints. I also heard great things about their pastries, specially the bun (not sure if it is cinnamon, or another spice). And both times I was there, I noticed that most of their patrons were eating items from their food menu - lots of sandwiches covered their tables. So they must be good, right?! If you find yourself in Kensington Market, and want to get away from the hustle and bustle, Fika is a great place to escape to.

Adorable café ♡ the house made chocolates and cardamom spiced latte are amazing

Harpreet Kaur

One of the most beautiful cafés I've ever been in, bright, mellow and wonderful staff. Walk around the counter past a wall covered in yellowing books and out into the hidden secret of the garden - in the shade of a tree, it's lovely and calm. There's a hammock to read your book in too, if you fancy it

Rosmarie Ketter

Relaxing, peaceful even though it’s a busy place. Reasonable price with friendly service.

Jeremy Hunsinger

Small cafe tucked away in Kensington. Great food and coffee, and the owner was really friendly and talkative. Nice spot to have a break and enjoy some quality food, or even to just get a snack and coffee to go.

Jessika Grand Bois

My favourite cafe in the city. Their Fika iced coffee and cinnamon bun are a must. Nice front deck and adorable back patio for when covid allows. Be sure to check out their unique book wall!

P S

It's a cozy spot, friendly staff and it's located in one of my favorite neighborhoods - Kensington Market

Alex S.

Beautifully decorated with wood and books, equipped with a blackboard that you can use for work, and staffed by one of the most friendly persons I've ever met. The cardamom spiced coffee was great. Also, among the many good cafes in Kensington, this one has the cleanest washroom.

Emily

Best cinnamon roll ever had! Best fika indeed!

Joanne Tran

Really cute coffee shop with nice seating area in front. Cardamom latte was delicious and will need to come back to try the cinnamon bun.

Victor He

This place is always packed! Both their indoor seating and outdoors are usually taken but if you wait awhile you should be able to find a seat. It's also pretty noise because of all the crowd but lots of people working and studying in the back.

Daniel de Sousa

What a relaxing place. Good coffee and good pastries. Important note: they don’t offer WiFi on weekends from April to September (Not sure about the end month). But keep that in mind if you are planning to work on your laptop and need internet. The space in the back is so cozy. Many books on the wall to remind us to read more books and less screens. There’s a backyard as well.

Dmitri Melamed

My Swedish roots loved everything about FIKA. It's a simple, clean coffee shop in the heart of Kensington Market selling northern European inspired coffee drinks like their cardamom latte (amazing!). They also sell a variety of pastries and light sandwiches. Log into their free wifi and stay awhile! There are plenty of seats for all.

Kaitlin Huynh

Yummy cardamom latte:)cute backyard and lots of sitting areas for you to chill on hammock, work on your laptop or just ppl watching!

Sin Jaz

Cute cafe with a great atmosphere and good coffee. Service was fairly quick even though it was busy. Not a a lot of seating but a decent amount. Also has little snacks and merchandise.

M K

One of my favorite cafes in the city. Great coffee and good pastry selection. There are lots of seats inside and outside. They have a famous wall with old books which makes for a great little photo opp. I always get an iced espresso/americano and a little fika cookie. I have so tried their other sweets and their iced hibiscus tea, all delish. The owner of this cafe is so kind!

F M

I stumbled on Fika Cafe randomly walking through Kensington and I had the iced coffee and swedish cinnamon bun. It was nothing short of heavenly, just pure bliss! I wish I could start my day everyday with an iced coffee from here. Hands down the best iced coffee I’ve had in Toronto! ❤️

A.D Raw

Loved it. Simple, laid back, cozy coffee shop. Cardamom latte is unique and tasty, not overwhelming, also the cinnamon buns, they are not overloaded with sugar. Staff was very friendly also. Will definitely return when I'm in the area.

Jacquelyn C.

Beautiful space and hammock at the back! One of the best patios in Toronto. Love their cardamom coffee. Wish they still had the ice cream sandwiches though! Sometimes hard to find space to sit if its not sunny out.

Leah D

Always love the coffee here, the Swedish buns are a delight too! Oat milk flat white is perfect, and if you feel adventurous, the cardamom latte won't disappoint!

Cyrielle

Great place! Delicous lattes and an extremely friendly service. The croissants with ham & cheese were so light you almost forgot how many calories they "cost". 6 stars.
