Decided to give Detour Coffee Roasters a try this time for my coffee order and they were great. The $35 min for shipping isn’t too much because you only need to get 2 bags. All the coffee was freshly roasted and shipped out right away. I received my shipment 2 days after the roasting date which is as fresh as you can get! Cant wait to try other beans/roasts.

Detour has gone downhill. I have been going to detour every Monday since january and today was the last time I plan on going. The server was beyond rude. Pushing customers out of the way to get to a table and deliver cold muffins. Our food took forever which I understand it was busy however I have seen them busier and my food still came out in a reasonable time then. The toast was over cooked as well as the eggs. When I ordered I asked for extra potatoes as my stomache doesnt handle toast or any gluten well and was told there would be a charge for extra potatoes. LUDACRIS! What about people who can't have bread but still want what they pay for ?! And my usual americano with steamed almond milk which my boyfriend also orders, is usually served with a reasonable size jug of steamed almond milk, today barely had enough for both our coffees. The coffee and the food is no longer anything to look forward to. Also the portions are getting cheap. The last time i ordered the avo and eggs on toast, I got a measly size portion of avocado as opposed to the usual generous helping. To say the least I'm super sad about how detour is turning out and won't be returning.

This is not a coffee shop. It is the store to buy coffee beans. Very good and fresh collection. Good customer service. Local and freshly roasted. Definitely give it a try.

Very poor customer service. This company ships with Canada post expedited as their "Free Shipping" method. Their website claims FedEx, and all previous orders in the past year have been smooth. My delivery time on my fresh roasted beans is 15+ days. Which is not optimal on beans that at priced at $20 per 300g Their customer service only sends a genetic email responce, until I threatened to report to the Better Business Bureau. Avoid using this company. There is no integrity left.

Sydney Howard is a pathological liar. Please disregard all reviews she makes. I once saw her arguing with the barista, claiming the bro collisions were not organic even though they were clearly not being advertised as such. Anyway, I like how they give tim bits for my dog when I bring him along.

I am very new to coffee making and dropped in to the Burlington shop to get some info regarding coffee beans. The young lady who attended me was so friendly and helpful and spent 10 minutes explaining things even though she knew that I was not buying anything ( haven't got a coffee maker yet). I will definitely be buying my beans from this place and am very happy I found it.

Came to grab a couple bags of coffee to try because I was considering a subscription and saw there was a Black Friday sale. It does not state on your website that it is an online only sale. When I went to cash out I was told by the clerk that those prices are online only. That doesn't make much sense if it's not stated on your website that it's online only.

Detour is one of the best roasters in the industry. Their seasonal single origin coffees are roasted to perfection, and their sourcing practices are worth applauding. Would recommend their coffee to a serious coffee connoisseur any day.

I ordered coffee to be delivered on Dec 3rd and it is Dec 17th and so far no coffee. I was told because I shipped to a PO Box they switched FedEx for Canada Post and the delivery time is normal, but this seems ridiculous. EDIT: Coffee is good, so edited to give them 3 stars.

My daughter ordered monthly delivery for Christmas present. They keep sending espresso beans (5 times now) after repeated calls that we don’t like the blend and to substitute another. Left repeated phone messages and no response. Be wary ... terrible customer service. Very unhappy client.

Online order. Bought a Fellow insulated mug, Aeropress, and coffee from them. Coffee was roasted to order and excellent. Fast shipping. Aeropress included the nylon bag, so it was over $10 cheaper than Amazon AND got to support a local business. Win-win. Would highly recommend

Coffee is fantastic - freshly roasted. They do not take debit, just credit or cash. Hours can be tricky if you work long hours as they close at 4, but the coffee is worth it. Well priced for the quality.

Purchased two sets "Detour Essentials" tasting packs plus a bag of decaf. Cracked open the bag of "Bouncy Castle" and basically had to spit it out. Light, sour and tasted worse than Tim Hortons (ground whole beans and brewed with an Aeropress). "Punch Buggy" was not much better. At least four bags will be thrown out. I've learned my lesson. Never purchase coffee with tasting the product first!

Hands down, the most reliable coffee and gear shipments in Canada. I've placed many orders with Detour Coffee now and they are always roasted and shipped in a few days, and I end up receiving the package quickly. The boxes are packed with care. Another plus side is that with every order I place, my cats get a new box and paper stuffing to play with xD
