This place is the best. We go here every morning after our run and the owner is amazing and knows many of his patrons by name. You can feel the passion.

It's like the Cheers of coffee shops. The warm and friendly owner make everyone feel like a regular. The food is fresh and the coffee delicious. A must visit!

Hands down the best overall coffee and lunch spot in town. Breakfast bagels, soups, doughnuts... all fantastic. A real community hub too.

Great Coffee and Atmosphere at the Savoury Cafe. Owner is super friendly and accommodating for the most discerning coffee drinker. If you enjoy coffee like I do you must check them out.

This is a really sweet little spot (in covid times, literally a hole in the wall where you order at the doorway). Service is kind and warm -- as I wait for my order I notice the cheerful person who served me knows a lot of regulars and their names, and they know his. Yummy, affordable food. I left with a smile. Check it out!

Gem of a place with good food and great coffee. Probably the best thing about the place however is the owner Al - a true gentleman and pleasure to see when I get my morning cup of java.

Bob Kennedy

Been going to this coffee shop for a little over a year and I recommend it to everyone in the area. Great coffee, snacks, sandwiches, and soups. Theres almost always extremely friendly patrons in the cafe or waiting outside these days and I spoken to lots of great people while waiting for my coffee! Great cozy local coffee shop that I highly recommend.

This little cafe is full of personality. The owner, Allan, knows our names and even has custom mugs made for some of his long-term patrons. The food is yummy and they make a good london fog (my drink of choice). It's incredibly friendly. The only (kind of) downside is that it's incredibly tiny, only a couple tables inside. Generally it's great though, and don't be surprised if you end up striking up a conversation with the other folks there.

Often stop by for a quick, healthy lunch. Savoury makes the best homemade soups and I really like the fact they are made from scratch daily.

Tiny place, great coffee (mocha) and treats, lovely owner who is quite popular with the customers.

It is the friendliest spot in town and great homemade soup and chili. If you don't know anyone when you go in, you are friends with everyone when you leave.

Graham McMicken

Friendly, good coffee, treats, daily homemade soup, and a selection of sandwiches. Great quick breakfast or lunch spot.

Shaun Jamieson

britney goudy

Andrea Mears

This spot is great! My kids and I love going there.

Alan is the best person in the world and the coffee is perfection He even got larger cups for me just because I asked if he had larger cups one day. The breakfast sandwich is delicious too. And also the legend of Alan is well known apparently, as we've heard great stories about him in entirely unrelated situations like mattress shopping. Our mattress saleslady told us stories about Alan and the Savoury Cafe. This place is literally legendary

One of my favourite spots in town. Good coffee and amazing banana bread

Open early which was great for me because many places open later now after the COVID outbreak. I gave a 4 because I liked the service & locally owned feel, however the coffee was so-so. Service ????: The man working (Owner) felt very comfortable in the space, asked me questions about my day and gave me suggestions. That was great. He recognized the woman behind me by name. There is outdoor patio dating and a takeout window. The storefront itself is quite slim and independent-feeling (rather than a chain)- but it's not open to customers at this time (takeout/order window is at entrance of cafe). Coffee: I ordered an Africano/Americano misto and it was too hot to drink at first (admittedly, this is common because hot espresso is added to hot water + steamed milk= triple hot!! That's how it works right? :p ). The espresso I could taste was faint and quite earthy. Not my fave but I wanted to try. I've only tried the Africano so I'll try something else another day.

Great little Cafe, fresh baked goods, hot beverages and great breakfast sandwiches. The owner/operator Alan is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet

Amazing service and personabiliy which most cafe's lack around town. Fresh food from in store made rotating daily soup flavours to local baked goods. Great prices for both the quality and quantity of food.

greg batters

One of the best coffee and snacks in town..

Michael Simard

Amazing tasting savoury and sweet food as well as one of the best places to get a chai or an Americano... I pop in here often to grab something for lunch! Ask for what's in the big silver pot - it's always something warm and yummy like a soup or chili. And there is twice as much egg compared to bread on his egg salad sandwiches!

I love this place! The staff are kind and funny! The location is cute and cozy, and the food is AMAZING. Also the coffee is just so addicting. Its becoming my favorite place to visit on my lunch breaks :) Highly recommend the borscht!

Most wholesome little place I've walked into in a while! I think i walked in close to closing time. The man who was working, whom I would assume was the owner, only charged me for the sandwich and gave me my coffee for free, as it was the end if the night. Also, he had an overall friendly vibe. As for the food, I just bit into my sandwich, and it was delicious. I will most definitely be returning!

Zoe Butler

The sweetest man owns this place. Asked me how my day was and genuinely cared then gave me a free drink to cheer me up. Best experience I’ve ever had at a coffee shop. Please support his business!

John Clancy

Found this little gem in Oak Bay and totally blown away by the pastry selections and the best Americano that I've had in years! Top notch staff and service too!

Michele B

good honest food and good company. A neighbourhood staple. When we visited today just after closing time, Al generously stayed open to serve us, warm up sandwiches to go, and catch up on chat with me and the kids. What a great guy! Opening Hours are 7am to 3pm.

Elnaz

Alan, the owner is a kind, attentive human being and a true host. The coffee tastes delicious and the bakery items are fresh and tasty.

Jack Kelly

Great sandwiches, delicious baked goods, great coffee, all at lower prices than the big guys. Support local and have a great lunch at the same time.

This is a small, cozy cafe. The owner is lovely. My drink and sandwich were good. Unfortunately everything is wrapped in plastic wrap so I probably won't be back for food until they start storing the food in a more sustainable way.
