A bit expensive, but totally worth it! I had a pumpkin pie mocha with a smoked salmon all dressed bagel. My partner had a strawberry smoothie with a chicken bacon club on an all dressed bagel. Everything tasted SO delicious! The staff was very nice too!

I laughed out loud at so many items... a number of which I picked up as the perfect gift for someone special on my list. Always a pleasure to visit Friendly staff that remember your name, Jason is a freakin' GEM! Food is good, lattes are pretty good (they can really be hit or miss truthfully), just be ready to pay more than other speciality coffee shops, they're kind of expensive. The people are truly where it's at and the location is perfect for get-togethers or just a little coffee date. Definitely check out their gift shop too! Cute, quirky, hidden gems!

I love this coffee shop AND the gift shop! I've been going somewhat regularly since they opened and I've never been disappointed. I love that they have so much choice for local snacks and even vegan/gf options. The staff are always happy and eager to serve and are always up for a nice chat or to share a joke. Anytime I've bought a gift for someone from their gift shop they've loved it, and I've recieved things I love too! I'm so glad we have something like this in Cole Harbour (finally!!) and can't wait to test out the new patio! PS their breakfast sandwiches are amazing.

Today was my first visit to Selby's. It has a wonderful atmosphere. The treats are delicious and the coffee is a dream. The staff disinfect the tables and chairs after every use. The shop downstairs has so many unique items for gifts and your home. It's great that they support local artists.

A different kind of Coffee Shop My wife and I booked into an AirB&B which is part of Selby’s Bunker. The building contains the B&B, a gift shop and the coffee shop. Extremely convenient place to grab a coffee when you rent this room. I will breakdown the 3 businesses in this review. AirB&B: The room is a smaller space but nice. Everything is fairly fresh and clean. The bed is a loft style opening up the area underneath for closet and desk. The 'smart' TV is situated at the foot of the loft bed. There is a couch, a small fridge and a space heater if you need to warm it up a little more. Bathroom is spacious. Shower is nice. Coffee Shop: Free parking at the back. Very good (and strong) coffee. Friendly service. Fresh ground beans, piping hot and lots of choices. They have delicious baked goods. Prices are fair. You'll find some of the items from the gift shop in here as well. WiFi and a swing. Yup, an indoor swing. Gift Shop: Many crafty and different types of gifts, knickknacks, jams, and other cools items. All-in-all this was a nice place to stay on our trip, and like I said, extremely convenient for coffee and light breakfast.

Such a great little cafe with all sorts of yummy treats! The service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately the Gift Shop was closed due to Covid on the day we went but the items that were displayed in the cafe were beautiful, unique, and locally sourced. I cant wait to go back and check out the whole place when things get back to normal!

Iced Chai latte was very bland, not sure if it was because they used a powder? Their baked goods were great, really loved an almond one with chocolate drizzle I tried 100% recommend. Lots of cute things but a tad on the more expensive end!

HUNDREDS of them!! Grow your own friends, guys!!! They have great gifts!! For everyone!! Candles, paintings, lip chap, toys, door mats, muscle spray, birthday cards, SOCKS!! Local art, pottery, YOU NAME IT!! Selby’s probably has it. My home is filled with plants, pots, art, and other goodies I’ve collected over the past few months from Selby’s. His staff is incredibly friendly and they are so helpful!! Especially when I send my SO in with a list of wants to scavenger hunt for. They have something for absolutely everyone. I promise it is very unlikely you will be disappointed. I highly recommend Jason’s gem of, what I consider to be, a hub of our beautiful community. I <3 Selby’s!!

Great little spot! We were just passing through on our trip and stopped in for a coffee and to answer a few emails for our business. Coffee was mediocre, cookies not that great. Quite high price, but it is what it is, and that's just my opinion. Will stick with Second Cup on the days I decide to treat myself to a latte. Super friendly staff though. Changed to 3 stars, I'll give it another try at some point. I appreciate the quick response. My girlfriend loves your coffee shop, so I'll stop in again when we go for a walk in the area.

When I rented this cozy loft, I was in a panic mode and rushed to find a place to stay. I needed something affordable and easy to book, as I had a few unique issues for the paying part of the whole process. I found this loft and messaged the host immediately as it was perfect and met all my needs. The host was very pleasant and returned messages extremely fast, answering all my questions and inquiries to the fullest. He was a life saver and saved the day! The host went over and beyond for me and I couldn’t have been more grateful. The loft is in a prefect location, close to many places to visit. The scenery is beautiful, and the folks in the area are very kind and friendly. The loft shares a dwelling with a very nice little cafe, with very kind employees. Waking up in the morning to the smell of brewed coffee, was the added treat to start my day off just right! This place comes highly recommended and I will definitely be returning to Dartmouth and booking his place again! Thank you for the wonderful stay and experience.

This is definitely my go to for coffee or tea from now on. Loved the atmosphere, the workers were awesome and very friendly. First time trying oat milk and loved it and love that they have vandal doughnuts too. Gift shop in the basement is very nice too and has quite a good selection for gifts and apparel. Edited* As far as food and drinks go, there really isn't anything here you wouldn't be able to find at most coffee shops. Most items had a "store bought" feel. The ethically sourced over priced coffee tastes about the same as Tims so that's nice. Its tight quarters inside make ordering kind of chaotic when it's busy. The one thing that's sets this place apart is its new and pretty spacious patio (although wasn't sure if it was wheelchair accessible). Which I believe has an open mic on Saturdays. Makes for great entertainment by local artists while you have your coffee, tea or bage. ( or other probably store bought pastry ) TLDR: Food and Drinks are average. Go for the live music.

Went in for a monstera plant and they're so much more than that! Their gift store not just has a huge variety of plants, pots and other plant related needs but also bracelets, earrings, necklaces, purses, kitchen towels, and much more i didnt get the chance to see. And not to mention a whole cafe upstairs! Super cute store, must check out even if on your way to one of the three beaches around!

Any less than a 5 star review of Selby's is baffling to me - the staff are amazing, they always ask how you're doing - and they are SO supportive and amazing if you're having a bad day. Everything on the menu is delicious, and there are many gluten free/dairy free/specialty options. The gift shop is adorable - I miss it so much in these crazy covid times. Jason is a superstar, and you can tell by the quality of the store, and the attitude of the staff, that he's great to work for. Can't say enough - you guys are amazing. ❤️

Growing up in cole harbour i’d had always said that it was time for a nice cafe to pop up. Jason did exactly that, and then some. The coffee, baked goods and staff are great. The space is very well done. Very welcoming spot. I really enjoy browsing the newest plants in the gift shop downstairs, & can’t leave without a treat from the cafe. If you live in the area, make this spot your new go to. If you’re just travelling by, be sure to stop in.

I've been hearing about Selby's from friends and family for quite awhile, and finally got the opportunity to check it out - did not disappoint! The coffee is fantastic, yummy treats, and the gift shop is packed with so many unique and fun items. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they genuinely seemed to be having a great time at work. Really enjoyed my experience, and can't wait to go back!

The cafe is super duper cute and the service was amazing! Big windows so it was nice and bright! Variety of sweets was just too much to be able to choose from, so I went with the mini quiche and the date square.. amazing! The only minus was that it was quite cold in there, but then again, it was like -20'c that day so very cold air got in whenever the door was opened. The gift shop downstairs is filled with amazing things!

I'm giving 4 stars because they have an excellent patio ???? but their food was so-so. ????‍♀️ I can imagine if it wasn't for the pandemic, there would've been an acoustic band playing in the patio. Their backyard is a great area for local artist to play a tune or two. I was looking for venus fly trap, but it wasn't available.

Coffee was really good. Cute local shop. However, I'm not sure if the staff over charged me in their gift shop... Bought 2 small whale plant holders and 2 plants (small succulent, and an air plant) and it came to $85...? It seemed a little crazy for how much it came to. I asked for the receipt and it only gave me the dollar amount and not a transaction breakdown. I didn't say anything because the young girl working seemed to be having a hard time... Very nice girl with great customer service but it seems as if her co workers were getting very frustrated with her for not knowing the drink recipes and not knowing how to ring items in on cash. Not giving 5 stars, not due to the over charge, but the way staff was treating other staff seemed a bit harsh.. Especially in front of customers.

After 3 lockdowns, 2 health issues; I finally made it...unfortunately the things I ordered got lost in a renovation. I did call over a month ago and assure her I still wanted it but no matter. The young woman I dealt with was very nice, got a refund which because their stuff is so neat, I respent and then some. Literally, full of really unique, neat gifts.I got a gorgeous scarf, a new purse ( yay) and grandson some wacky socks.Definitely paying attention on FB to their posts and if we have no other lockdowns etc ; going back for sure..oh I got so excited about the new purse I forgot to try their food which smelled great.

I finally made it in after the last year of constantly seeing posts in my feed and being told over and over by friends that I had to check it out for myself. Wow. Beautiful cafe, I had a smoked salmon bagel that was amazing and an amazing latte. The staff were so friendly and quick to offer great suggestions to my little ones. The gift shop downstairs was a treasure trove of beautiful home decor items, plants, and an endless assortment of gift ideas... I ended up with a trunk load of fun plants and trinkets that I now need to hide from my husband. ;) Whether you live in town or are just visiting, this spot is a must-see. I only wish I’d checked it out sooner! We’ll definitely be back.

If you can imagine the best coffee and art experience, Selby's is for you. It's our Cole Harbour gem. Wicked outdoor patio and the food drink selection is what you need. Prices are super reasonable too. Stop buying that Starbucks garbage and support local people who give back to the community!

Today was the first time I visited this shop. I never heard of it until a friend told me about it. I live in cole harbour and I’m sad I didn’t discover this gem sooner. The plants are very high quality, and their gift items seem to be high quality as well. They are reasonably priced for an independent and locally owned shop and the energy is incredibly amazing- from when you walk in, until you leave! I can’t wait to be back!

Finally visited this cute little cafe and gift store! They have a good amount of parking on the back, an upstairs café with one of the best chai latte I've ever had, along with some cute gift shop items (bowls, plates, mugs, plants etc) and a few food items for purchase. There are treats at the counter but also nice flavoured olive oils, balsamic, some chutney and other kitchen maybe-not-essentials that are just yummy. Downstairs is the full, proper gift shop with a fantastic assortment of things - all very cute and trendy, and most are made in the province by local artists (I think!). Would definitely recommend a delicious hot bevvy and snooping around for some take home treats as gifts.

I recently visited this shop. The staff were very friendly. There was alot of gifts and nicnacs to choose from. Their plants on the other hand were another story. Most were near dead, inderwatered and undet exposed to the light. Some plants were completely covered in thick dust, others accompanied with dead foliage. It's a shame to see so many plants that will end up going to waste.

The gift and coffee shop at Selbys are cute and they have a large selection of items however it is quite over-priced. They also recently completed a brand new patio and parking lot but decided not to make their patio accessible to everyone. A bit disappointed that businesses are still leaving people out while branding as a fun and inclusive establishment.

Delicious coffee and latte. I had a coffee (house blend) (medium dark) it was really good. My friend had a latte with vanilla and hazelnut and it was also really good. I had the cinnoman bun and would recommend that as well. Friendly service, great spot!

Selby's is a great, one-stop shop for gifts, snacks, and cute household items (including plants!!) We love coming here for just about anything we need. Staff are fantastic, the owner is a sweetheart and is very inclusive and receptive to the communities the shop serves. Prices are not as low as corporation coffee shops; however, the quality of the items, treats, and service you get there is reflective of this and makes it absolutely worth it. If you're looking to support local and give back to your community, this is the place to go.

Went here with a good friend about a month ago. We both order a cinnamon roll and late. We enjoyed them quite a bit! ... This coffee shop tends to become busy very fast (and we were there at 10am when the doors opened on a Saturday). We did find it a bit load but still a good experience! They offer Vandals Doughnuts which seem to be very popular!! Definitely worth a visit!
