I can not speak highly enough about Cortado. The staff are friendly and attentive, going above and beyond. When I was grabbing a coffee recently, a staff member took the time out of his day to explain to me the process of a very unique kind of coffee. They are very passionate about the quality of their product and that passion comes through as the end result is an amazing cup of coffee. Bonus points for being roasted in house!

I got a mocha latte, definitely the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee, this is the place. The food was mediocre, had a breakfast burrito, it wasn’t bad by any means but it wasn’t great. My food actually got taken by an impatient customer. Had to go up and ask, it didn’t seem like anyone wanted to help me when I was standing at the counter to see about my food. The customer service could use a bit of an improvement. Over all a great experience. Will be back.

My first visit to the cortado was definitely worth the time and dollars for an experience with my coffee and a really great sandwich. The preparation of my coffee and the selection of the beans to be freshly ground and used immediately was an experience all by itself. My coffee consultant was extremely knowledgeable and explained how the coffee was processed and roasted with all of the tasting notes to back it up. Normally I would add cream and sugar or stevia but this coffee needed nothing but a cup to savour every drop. Take some time out of your busy day and focus some Zen like attention on just getting things right and taking pleasure in a truly great coffee.

A spot of interest for those who really like quality coffee, but also equally approaching and appealing for those less knowledgeable about coffee as well. Really a delightful spot with light fare for lunch and sweets. An enjoyable experience.

Only reason I can't give it a full five stars is that on my visit, there were very few places to sit because of the number of people using the coffee shop as a work/study area without even a drink or food plate in front of them. Seems to be epidemic with coffee shops nowadays. Nonetheless, I'll be back.

The coffee at Cortado's is amazing. I drink espresso and they always have different specialty blends to choose from. My wife always orders a latte or flat white and she thoroughly enjoys her drink each time. They have an amazing points system and the atmosphere is very nice. I give full marks for atmosphere and general coffee knowledge; very engaging if you have an interest in the art and science of coffee craft. The major problem is that I can’t seem to get a coffee that matches the presentation. I’ve tried more then a half dozen times describing the type of coffee I like and how I like it allowing the barista to define the best method of extraction which generated wonderful conversations but in the end it has been the same result every time. Each to their own but a sour coffee is not one I enjoy. I will go back. Premier coffee extraction is a fickle thing, just a shame the batting average is so low.

I particularly enjoyed chatting with the barista about their passion for coffee. These guys invested their own time and money to attend and witness the World Barista Championship in Seoul. They brought back and shared some special coffee from Seoul as well. Which I was fortunate enough to try - they gave me a cup just after dialling in the machine. Thanks for sharing guys:) Although these guys are into their coffee the place did not feel pretentious or unwelcoming to non-coffee people! Drink of choice - cortado.

This place has cozy, yet, high-end interior design. The staff are amazing. Knowledgable about the product and very helpful, in general. My favourite from this place is a Mocha. It is the best Mocha that I have ever had. The goodies, and some other foods, are gluten-free but are not lacking in flavour at all. Personal favourite out of those is the Coconut Strawberry bar. Definitely give them a shot over your regular coffee place.

Everyone at Cortado takes SO much pride in what they do and aside from the amazing coffee, it's really all about the experience. I absolutely love Cortado. The staff are professional, genuinely kind and very helpful. I started purchasing coffee beans there to make espresso at home and the beans are always super fresh, but I LOVE that you get a free drink (any size or kind) with every bag of beans you purchase. It makes the (slightly higher) price of the beans well-worth it. The staff were very helpful the first time I bought beans, which was great because I was clueless. Overall, I definitely recommend this cute coffee shop for sitting in to enjoy food and drink, or for picking up your stash of at-home coffee!

The Cortado Tasting room gives you the cleanest tasting coffee around. As someone who enjoys black coffee with no added cream or sugar this is the best experience I have found for coffee. I especially enjoy their sciencey coffee devices for making an extra smooth and clean cup of coffee. So far I've tried three of their devices and will be back soon to try more.

My first visit was today and I will definitely be going back. I was greeted warmly, as soon as I walked through the doors and when I needed a moment to look over the menu, the barista was extremely helpful when I asked her to recommend something. She double checked that the coffee was the right strength and that she'd put the amount of cream I asked for. It was fantastic personalised service and for my early Monday morning, it was appreciated.

This is a charming cafe with a great menu which I am slowly making my way through. So far all the beverages have been delicious, served hot or cold. The Dark Chocolate Mocha is spectacular, the bittersweet chocolate compliments the flavour of their coffee perfectly. Cortado Tasting Room is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to get a craft coffee in greater Halifax, and certainly in the Hammonds Plains region.

Dropped into this coffee shop for a family gathering on a Saturday night. It is an amazing place. The atmosphere was what I liked most. Calm and relaxing, the wood tables and floors gave this place a cozy feel. The sweets were fresh and tasty. I didn’t have coffee, but had a few sips of a latte and it tasted great. Instead of Starbucks, try this place!

Location, is good sounded with residential area, there is enough free parking for cleints, the facility is wide enough to fit customer, colours are elegant and warm, having high seats and regular one I see it positive, decorations is nice and variety seats is also a good option, what I found an issue is the service table (where suger and garbage cabinet is) it is too far and hard to reach . Products and time of process, I noticed (in my visit) there wasn't enough varieties of pastry (limited) and good type of beverages. Hospitality and employee, I like how employees are friendly understand clients needs, take the order with a smile. The timing between order and prepare the order within expected time, well done. Cleanliness, the facility is cleanliness is pluasible including the washroom, I see one washroom is not enough, however the washroom is equipped well. Need only refresher. Prices is $$ you pay for a good services. Conclusion: is worth the visit and worth the experience.

A must-try for any resident of the HRM. After not knowing what kind of coffee I wanted, I asked the staff to make me something different and they took me through a special coffee-tasting experience where I tried several small cups of different coffees and coffee prep methods. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I was in town for a 10 day work trip and was worried I wouldn’t find a good cup o’ joe. Cue The Cortado Tasting Room! Every visit was complimented with a fantastic coffee and great service, so great in fact that I went for all 10 consecutive days! I had their cappuccinos daily, a few cortados and an aero press - all of which were fantastic and consistent throughout - Coffee machine is a Nuova Simonelli among their other methods (aeropress, pour over, French press etc..) The Bagels & Lox was easily my favourite thing on the menu, as well as their doughnuts. Decor is nicely appointed, atmosphere is friendly and community rich. They were obviously passionate about coffee and it translated into each visit. Thanks from Montreal!
