Ok, there are a few things to be careful of when you go to JJ Bean. Don't eat the Very Berry or Chocolate Zucchini muffins. Don't eat the Butter Tarts. Don't eat any of their cookies. Probably avoid the Cinnamon buns, both with or without icing. Probably avoid the Jalapeno Cheddar muffins too. Oh and their is this crumble tart they have, don't eat that one either. If you eat any of the listed items, whenever you see another JJ Bean, even later that same day... you will most likely end up going into get another one of whatever you ate. You might not even know how you got there, then all of a sudden you realize your in in front of a cashier with another food item in your hand while you are reaching for you wallet. Also, if you are the person to take the last of any type of muffin, it is always polite and appropriatly Canadian to look to your left at the people in line behind you and apologize for robbing someone else of the yummy opportunity.

I drove about 20 minutes to get to JJ Bean as it was the only coffee shop open after 8pm. Glad I did...the place is magic. Great atmosphere - really chill especially out on their terrace. Feels like I’m at a lounge. And of course the coffee was perfect. I left feeling completely inspired and hovering above my own boots.

Always epic. They spend the extra money on nigher quality ingredients and a bit larger portions than most places- and at their currents rates it's worth the price for everything. Muffin are well properly done, hearty and filling; a meal-and they're clean, not filled with freeze dried fruit and just sugar. There's real flavour!

Since becoming pregnant, my sole goal in life is mercilessly hunting down and devouring baked goods. The iced apple fritter at Park & Tilford's JJ Bean is the best damn fluffy bit of heaven I've found on the North Shore. And yes, I have compared it to those pastries found at dedicated bakeries and pretentious cafes. JJ Bean 10/10 best baked good. I'll be back.

Love this coffee shop for school work but a little confused by the no Wifi policy during lunch hours... The last four weeks I've been here, the place has only been half full during this time, so not sure why they're turning it off. I understand they may want to dissuade students from camping all day long, but there are only power outlets along one small wall off to the side, as well as a private study room. The rest of the cafe, plus the outside patio, is usually always open to the remaining patrons, so it doesn't seem as though students can feasibly take over the whole place. I study at the JJ Bean on Main Street as well and they never turn off their Wifi, despite being packed all the time. Anyway, I'll likely still keep coming, just wanted to offer my two cents. For students who come often and spend their money here, the gesture would be appreciated. Plus, I'm sure the non-studious patrons would appreciate it as well. It's 2019, turn it back on! :D

Great coffee, warm and cozy atmosphere and endless selection of creamers at the condiments area (Milk, skim milk, Soy, Almond and Cream...at no extra cost! Lol). It's also next to Park & Tilford Gardes which is a great little spot to pause at.

First off, very friendly professional service. I ordered a Cold brew coffee with not too much ice. Prices are not bad for the products they have on their menu. When I got my cold brew, it literally looked like water down tea. I put a little bit of cream in it and sat down and tried it only to find that all I could taste was cream. When I ordered the coffee, it seemed to be a bit of a problem because the waitress wasn’t sure if they had any, and she ran back-and-forth from the front of the store to the back of the store trying to find it I guess. When I finally got it, she had taken it out of a 1 L prepackaged JJ Bean cold brew container. So after tasting it and not really being all that happy with it I went back up to the counter and politely asked if their cold brew was really really weak when it came out of that prepackaged 1 L container versus the stuff that they would make in the store. The waitress asked one of the barista‘s, and she commented that it doesn’t even look like cold brew coffee and yes it was a lot weaker. I asked if they could just put a shot of coffee into it and they were happy to do that for me, and in the end it tasted like it should. So basically, the stuff that they’re selling by the litre is watered down by comparison to the stuff that they would actually make in the store. This kind of thing just makes me shake my head because they’re affectively admitting that if you order a coffee from the barista it will be nice and strong, but if you buy their prepackaged cold brew it’s going to be hugely watered down by comparison. So if it’s a bad product why sell it at all? I doubt I’ll ever go back and order their cold brew coffee again.

I had to use JJ Bean as a temporary office for a few hours while I waited for my car to be fixed. I'm glad I chose it. Firstly they have a great selection of actually tasty tea (I had 2 cups of English Breakfast, 1 cup of Masala and 1 cup of Earl Grey, loved them all) and unique, freshly baked muffins. I then settled down and put my headphones on, the wifi was fast and I was able to concentrate well. If the weather had been nicer, I could have gone outside to to use the patio for this. The staff were happy to refill my teacup with hot water when I got low, and no one minded that I was there for a few hours. Furthermore, if you really like their products, you can buy some of them to take home (e.g. loose leaf tea or coffee beans).

Very disorganized... I ordered a drip coffee and they said it would take a couple of minutes ... Sat the for 15 minutes.. Got tired and asked what happened to the coffee.... They had forgotten about it completely. Very poor customer service. And they ask for a tip when you pay... I go to JJ bean once every 6 months... Always a bad experience. Would never go there again. Starbucks 2 doors down has great customer service.

Strange experience. I ordered a latte on a busy afternoon and waited in the line for pick up. 5min later, nothing had came up for me. I decided to sit down and wait until they call my name. Another 10min later, I asked them if they have an order for me. They said that they called my name and did not hear anything back. Then they asked what my order was and gave it to me in a very short time. The strange part was "the looks." Two ladies working there gave me the strangest looks as if I am being out of my mind lol. The thing is, I may have missed the call. I did not dispute anything. I was ready to say I am sorry I missed their call. But suddenly the passive aggression I recieved overwhelmed me and left a distaste in my latte. ????#badpuns

Here’s what I receive; “Sorry we didn’t order enough of that blend and what we have is needed for our customer’s drinks.” Translation: We have the coffee blend you asked for but we are not going to sell it to you because we can make more money serving smaller amounts to our drink customers. We don’t care about your time or if you have other commitments go ahead and drive to another location, no problem right? Really something….

My friend and I went in for our favourite treats at Park & Tilford a few weeks ago. We definitely aren’t ones to complain, but both of our coffees were undrinkable. We had them to go and decided next visit we would tell the staff. Tonight we were craving our JJ and went in for our treats. We told the girl about our experience and she immediately blamed the coffee machine and that was it. To my surprise no effort was made to make that right. At 15 mins to close a staff member came round and while my friend and I were in a very private close conversation, we were interrupted and told that they were closing in 15 mins and to “drink up, but enjoy your coffee.” At 10pm the cafe was full of people and she came by yet again to inform us that they were closed and said to my friend “chug chug chug your coffee”. I left and my friend came out to tell me that as she left the cafe, this same staff member had passively-aggressively (across the entire cafe and in front of other patrons) been trying to get her to come back and “put away your dishes”

It blows me away sometimes that they can not only remember my name but what I drink too!! They have all their baking done in the back and the most awesome cinnamon rolls in town - good muffins too!!

Located at the small shopping plaza close to a local park and movie theater.This plce has a nice interior with cozy chairs around a fireplace. Friquented by locals and students who also like to work there while having their cup of joy. Good selection of baked goods to go with your cofee or tea. You can choose from the list of specialty cofees or teas or suggest your own brew. Nice spot for a someone who is looking for the alternative to Starbucks, but not ready to venture too far.

One of the best oat milk lattes and mochas. However, always very busy and seating capacity is limited. One of the Korean male staff was impolite and informed me of a 45 minute stay policy until I was half way into my work/study. Nowhere in the cafe is there a sign that indicates that. I also had to ask him to clean the table as it was left very dirty. I have been coming here as my go to work/study shop on the weekends but I’ll be changing shops. Also, no outlets to plug in your laptop.

I don't usually like JJ coffee, but this location in particular has super friendly and fun to talk to staff, and they must have their machine "dialed in" to the perfect setting because I havent had a bad cup of coffee here yet. It's especially nice because the location is cozy, the patio is nice and they are right next to the gardens if you fancy a nice stroll while you sip. One of my favorites.

Last two times I came in, they had a guy power washing the patio. Could not stand the noice and left after an hour. Felt like I am next to a construction site. Today the same guy is doing the same thing. I am not sure how often this happens, but this is annoying. The management should schedule this maintenance for a time when the place is closed. I like the interior, but how could I enjoy it with that noice?! I hope they do something about this. I am having the power washing service after hours will cost them more, but I think bad reviews like mine will cost them more. I am sure I am not the only person who find this annoying.

This busy coffee house has a great vibe. Super interesting crowd with a major movie production studio nearby. Outstanding selection of fresh baked muffins and epic cinnamon buns. Wow espresso coffee. This location includes an inviting deck next to the Lovely Park and Tilford Gardens (see included pics of these gardens). We like that Wifi is turned off during peak times to discourage students from camping out there all day long, making it easier for more diners to get a table.

I prefer to support local over chain shops but Starbucks' COVID precautions are head and shoulders over this JJ location. Staff aren't wearing masks despite working so closely. Other than some tape on the floor there is no distancing even between tables or customers. Also, 11 people on laptops were using all the tables so we had to run through the rain with our food and eat it in our car. This isn't fair. I'm not sure how long one latte buys you a table of four during coffee rush hour but apparently there's no enforcement of loitering at all. I remember they were going to turn off WIFI during peak hours but this obviously didn't last. I won't be back until certain policies are in place.

Great food and service, however, I've had to go elsewhere on numerous occasions when I've gone for a breakfast wrap and a coffee. They seem to be sold out of all wraps by 9:30am every morning. May I suggest having more stock if its that popular.
