I went to buy a lotto ticket and seen they had a basket of chocolates beside the cash, I asked the cashiers to add one to my bill and she told me she can only cash out lotto, I'd have to take it to another cash to buy the one chocolate bar... I thought it was pretty silly to display something at a cash that you cant buy there.

They get 0 because the company was online bragging bragging about profiteering during the pandemic. A time when Canadians were chosing what Bill to pay. Food is not a luxury.

It's usually very busy because of its location. It has a Tim Hortons inside so your hubby can go hang there while you grocery shop. Fresh foods are accessible. The prices are very expensive and quite frankly not very tolerable. In other words. ... drive around the corner and hit up No frills... cheaper and you'll probably find a lot more there than at Sobeys. Oh wait yes Sobeys had liquor or alcohol or whatever. (I'm a non drinker)

It is a Sobeys. I am disappointed in the the variety of foods available. You can get some things you can't get other places but it is hard to do all of your shopping here.

Quality produce, and butcher (often have decent sales of various meat/cuts). Boxed, dry goods tend to be overpriced compared to other grocers. Great place to purchase beer, cider, wine (often have good sales on wine [sell only 750 ml. bottles]); purchase hours begin earlier and end later every day of the week compared to LCBO or beer store hours (especially in North Bay, where these gov't outlets open and close earlier than in cities).

Went into get a few groceries on Sunday Jan, 10 2019 @ 745 pm got to the deli counter at 750 pm was told sorry we close at 8 pm I said it's ten minutes to 8 pm she said sorry we're closed then a nicer lady came out of nowhere said I'll serve you I work later she said thanks I said. On the way to my vehicle in the parking lot I was being given the death stare by this unknown woman I asked do I know you I said , she said I should be ashamed of how I treated her daughter then there was an altercation in the parking lot ending with this woman taking pictures with her cell phone of my vehicle and myself . Pretty sad I say and other times bought groceries here and the expiration dates were either past or next day . Not impressed!

Always a fast and good place to pick up a ready to go meal. Though additional variety or changes in the ready to go 3.99 and 4.99 options would be nice. Adding a simple salad with the chicken options would be awesome.

Food in the hot counter was extremely dry. I bought some ribs, mac n cheese n was going to buy 2 pieces of chicken but it was dry i bought a piece of fish instead i got home and even the fish was a plank of wood i come here for the ready prepared food after a long day of work.

I like that they have a pretty large natural foods section with dairy free and gluten free alternatives. A little pricier than other grocery stores but I like the fresh fish and non dairy options.

You will find great variety here. I was impressed by the amount of selection found here. The location is clean, well staffed and easy to find what you are looking for. Great location.

It has everything you could possibly need in this store. But honestly, the place is just so big I had no idea where anything was. ???????? I found the basics like milk, eggs, bacon, etc, everything else was here and there in the store so I was in there for quite some time. Still a great place to go shop as the deals and prices are pretty good.

My go-to grocery store. Service is amazing, workers are helpful, quality of food is great. Only issue would be the fresh produce, which is either amazing or terrible - no in between. Very efficient store layout, with places to sit. 10/10

Had the worst experience in the Floral dept. I couldnt believe that a grocery store was charging $80 for an upgraded 4" poinsetta planter. There wasnt even any add ons or a bow. When I had asked the floral girls for a bow they said they didnt have any time. Worst experience ever and will never go back there.

I enjoy shopping here ,especially because of everything being fresh and the take out food. Only one thing I wasn't aware of that when you purchase a whole prepared chicken . I didn't know we pay tax on them? Other than that it has pretty good sales of course depending what you are looking for . Have a good day!

the staff is usually pretty good. polite, decent customer service. the produce, on the other hand, is definitely hit and miss. especially the fruit. friday I bought some pineapple and strawberries, the already chopped up. put the package in the fridge and went to have some saturday evening. nothing wrong with the fridge. so, took it out, opened and it guess what....the pineapple was rotten. this problem seems to be an ongoing issue with their prepared fruit containers. not buying them there again. 9 bucks wasted.

Excellent fresh produce and good general selection of groceries. Long opening hours, sadly no longer 24hrs. Certainly more expensive than other stores but the fresh produce is better and lasts longer. Student discount on certain days.

Very clean and we'll organized store, the produce section is always well stocked and has an ample selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. The selection in the international food aisle however, could do with a little wider selection, like carrying Japanese items such as curries, or something similar in terms of variety to FreshCo. If this could be a one stop shop for all my grocery needs that would be beyond amazing.

First time to this Sobeys.... the staff were great, the items I wanted (and one I didn't need lol) were readily available. Parking lot was easy to get in and out of - oh and their wine section, looks like the vintages at LCBO (no there aren't vintages, just the look). Well done!

Did $350 in groceries went threw self checkout was accused of not paying for big items under cart lady printed out my receipt at her stall so she could go over my items saying I looked like I was stealing I will never return to this store again been doing my shopping here sence pandemic I spend minimum 300 a week

It's an amazing store. Expensive, but overall good quality and the Express item checkout is great. They have a summer salad and cranberry blueberry wine that pairs nicely with almost every meal. The great thing I love about sobeys is their sensory times. I work with individuals with developmental disabilities and I bring them there to go grocery shopping because of the reduced sensory overload that sobeys offers.

Open late, very clean, has a great cheese selection. Love this grocery store. Now sells wine and beer. Their ready to go hot food section is great and very affordable. They also carry a great variety of sushi.

Some young girl rejected my 2 day expired ID during covid when you are not allowed to renew your ID. Ended up going to LCBO which was an extra stop. In the future ill just get groceries at No-frills and beer at LCBO.

rude employees phoned at 5 and asked if we could have a bakery tray done the small one with or pre made squares and if we could pick it up at 3pm next day she said no they need 24 hours to package it?? like what the heck do you need that much time for? she was pretty rude and then hung up on us! we had 3 different orders for platters in diffrent departments to make I guess they loose out on about 130 bucks!

Stopped in for lunch. Had the chicken strips and potatoe wedges. Absolute worst lunch ever. Potatoes were leathery and dry. Chicken was , well imagine a nice golden breaded stick of sawdust. I mean could it have been any dryer. I threw half away because I couldn't swallow any more, and I hate wasting food. But I don't think that should be considered as food. At least the people were pleasant

I was in the store for about a half hour and every few minutes they announced that local health regulations require everyone to wear a mask, social distance and follow directional arrows on the floor. They are one of the few stores that still do the directional arrows, seems pointless as everyone is wearing a mask already. The announcements are very loud and repetitive. I guess Sobey's assumes everyone has been living under a rock and needs a constant reminder of Covid-19. On the plus side they finally figured out how to let people use both the in and out doors to the building. I will avoid this store whenever possible.

Staff are unprofessional jerks who stand around and gossip for most of their shifts. Staff could not care less about your safety and will make you wait outside for a taxi with all of your grocery bags, just so they can lock the doors and go home early. The closing hour should read 10:30 PM, not 11:00 PM.

This is a great store one stop shopping for baked goods, meat, fish and now wine and beer. Great produce too! Sobeys has everything you need! Except a full drug store. But Shoppers drug mart is close by!

Anything on sale in the flyer for a decent price is never instock! Bait and Switch There is not even an empty bunker where the on sale meat would have been, had it been in stock. That is because they only ever put out maybe 3 items a day for sale! The store is poorly organized and has got to be the most expensive in the city. I really hate this store.

I go into Sobeys in North Bay to purchase a cake some time after 8pm. The bakery is closed however the cake I want is behind the glass in the display. So I go to the front counter of the store to ask someone if they could please go behind the glass in the bakery, and get me the cake I wanted. I am told that the bakery closes after 8pm, and they refused to go behind the counter and grab me the cake I wanted, even though they had several employees up front who could of done this for me. One of the employees comes from upstairs, and clearly isn't doing anything. She could of grabbed me the cake. Instead she says "we don't sell cakes after 8pm", and walks off." So I left the store and went over to Food Basics who were more then happy to sell me a cake after 8pm. Never again will I ever buy a cake from Sobeys on Algonquin in North Bay. A very unhappy customer. I can't believe you're employees were to lazy to go to the back and grab me a cake.

A lot of the produce was in limited supply and poor condition. Surprising for this store. Saturday morning there was only 2 regular checkouts open and so many discarded carts at the exit it was hard to get out. I wonder if the staffing issue is a response to the new labour laws or everyone out with the flu. Waiting to see how things go over the next few weeks.
