Beautiful place with wonderful food
Nice people, good food, fair price, great view.
First of all, my cutlery was not placed properly by the waitress! J/K, How pretentious are some people? We had a great meal, my wife and I along with our son and his 2 friends enjoyed it immensely, we had a large table order right before us, so we had to wait a little longer, but it was OK, they kept apologizing but I assured them to take their time. The breakfast was great, the home made bread toasted was perfect. The view was amazing as well, although it was pouring rain at the time. Next time we are in the area, we will be back for more. This time I will try the Lamb Sandwich, sounds intriguing to say the least.
Great service, food, options and reasonable prices! homemade yumminess and vegan selections!
Quaint cafe, Great breakfast!
Cozy space with delicious breakfast. Beautiful view.
A nice little cafe on the side of the highway. From the outside looking in one would not expect an establishment that makes all baked goods from scratch, nor a ace that serves a decent ate of home fries. Don't judge a book by its cover! …
Amazing food! Eggs were perfectly cooked, and the homemade jam was full of flavour. You could not ask for a better view. Staff if super friendly, and the restaurant is full of character.
Beautiful and charming little coffee shop by the road side at sleepy Witless Bay, nestled atop a mount side with a breathless overview of the Bay, be it a splendid sunny day or solemnly foggy, enjoying a traditional Newfoundland Tetley tea accompanied by a delicious blueberry crumble or an unctuous cod au gratin you're in for a treat. The layout exudes that uncompromising attention to detail with 1950's inspired dinner tables and chairs, unassuming yet tasteful decor, that true atmosphere that permeates every Newfoundland home that I've had the privilege to visit, friendly and expeditious smile. The mutual community support shared by every town and city that I've visited on the island, that concern for their fellow human being permeates the Irish Loop Coffee House, where you'll be able to find a wall where they support local craftsmen and women through their continuous presence as a pillar of the community as a tourist attraction. We'll be returning to grab another bite and some wonderful tea. Thank you guys! As new members of the community we couldn't have felt more welcomed. ????????????
Whenever I travel from the southern shore to St John´s, I time my trip to include a breakfast stop at The Irish Loop Coffee Shop. The owner Judi is a wonderful lady who works very hard to offer quality home cooked meals and baked goods. I was pleasantly surprised when I first stopped in and saw gluten free full breakfast, lentil loaf, carrot & ginger soup & veggie burgers on the menu alongside local favourites such as cod au gratin and homemade fish cakes with baked beans. The coffee shop is very comfortable and cozy with breathtaking views of Witless Bay. I highly recommend a stop here when travelling along The Irish Loop - its magical.
Beautiful spot with an amazing view from the deck. They serve Santropol coffee from Montreal which is much better than most of the coffee you find in the area.
Beautiful Scenery . Friendly staff , nice food
Nice place with friendly service!
We tried the Quiche with Salad and Fried Cod with Salad, loved both. The quiche was very creamy and the fish was fresh.
Cute little spot with amazing views. Great, friendly service. Food was good- the fish cakes were amazing and the bread pudding was absolutely delicious!! The mac and cheese was good, if slightly bland.
Little place like visiting friends.
Really friendly staff!
Awesome
Great food
to be fair, I don't think they are accustomed to take out orders. asked for coffee to go and the cashier seemed unsure of what sizes of to go cups there were.
The lamb sandwich exceeded expectations
Spectacular view of the bay, with good coffee, interesting food (lentil burgers, fish cakes, lamb sandwiches, among others) with friendly staff. Also a great desert menu!
Cute diner that seems like a local hotspot. If you show up early in the morning, the fog on the bay is a real classic Atlantic viewpoint. The food is excellent and same with the coffee - the owner is a sweet lady and the kitchen seems like my grandma's where I always get the best food! Bathrooms are also in great shape and the whole place is an experience of its own! Breakfast on the Irish Loop? This is it!
Delicious, would recommend to anyone. Beautiful view over looking Witless Bay.
Love the food and the staff are amazing.
Friendly, personable staff and great food to match the view. If you want too-big meals in 30 seconds, find a fast food joint. If you want delicious food in a cute place, come here!
Setting was lovely! Service was good. Had tea and a scone with partridge berry jam. A slightly bigger scone and more jam would have been nice! But it tasted delicious, so that was good. A nice full menu. I might try one of their bread puddings the next time!
Just a really quaint little coffee house/dinner overlooking the ocean.
What a great find! The food was delicious, presentation was appealing and the service was great! We will definitely make a point to stop by again.
Food is amazing, staff is amazing, the view is amazing, this is my favourite cafe!
The food, the view, the staff, and vibe are great! Only thing was water for tea was not hot and whatever brand it was (wasn't Tetley) took a while to steep. Would definitely recommend. Tea buns were 5-star!
As we continue to explore Canada looking for scenery and great places to eat, we came across this treasure. Not only great cuisine and friendly service but a great view of Witless Bay as well. Open seasonally for breakfast / lunch and, oh! if you have a weakness for deserts be warned, this place will challenge you as it did us (we lost, kind of, loved the deserts). One thing to be aware of, cafe is located at the turn to Ecotours in the yellow building next to the road. The signage is a little lacking, but don't give up as we're confident you'll love this place.
The service was bad for the amount of people working there. The food was ok but the desert was good. We wait 20-30 minutes to get our orders in.
You can sit outside on the deck or inside and see whales surfacing & streching their fins in Witless Bay. The Irish Loop Coffee House is popular among the locals as well as travelers- for breakfast, lunch or brunch. For a fine dining experience come back after 5:30 PM.
Amazing food! Great service and such a beautiful veiw.
Great little spot! Surprising menu!
Food was so delicious.service was excellent.Would recommend to everyone.
The "Fork." evening restaurant is just fantastic. Beautiful, relaxing setting in Witless Bay; a surprising setting for upscale dining. Fresh local flavours presented in delicious and unique ways. Service was of course delightful and …
Stop here and eat food here! This is a must! I had a Brie Bacon Croissant and goat cheese cheese cake. They were both fantastic! The people who were eating there were friendly. The staff there were friendly. Just stop here and eat need I say more?
Great service, fantastic food and an even better view
Very cute place, but the food was served in small portions and was below average.
Perfect. Unpretentious. Might as well be jutting up to Nan's for tea. The bread is particularly good. It's sweet and delicious (and probably very bad for you). The coffee is delicious, too. As are their home fries, which are dripping with oil and quite peppery. They might not be to everyone's taste, but I enjoy them very much. That said, If you find it bothersome that there isn't a sommelier or a place to self-flagellate, then you should probably go be annoying somewhere else.

Cozy place to enjoy the great food
Nice little place. Didn't eat here just got a tea but the menu looked good. Gorgeous views and super nice accommodating owners.
The views are beautiful! The food is really good homestyle cooking! Nothing greasy on the menu! Lots of choice.
Great raisin bisquits
Bah. People are right. This is nice cozy place. But the menu and food are overpriced. I ordered ham and swiss croissant. I got somethin super tiny, with one little piece of ham, no cheese at all. 9 dollars.
Loved the food here. Not far from the excellent Whale Guest House, we stopped in for a late breakfast. Staff were very friendly, food was delicious and the prices were excellent! We both loved the home made food, which was quite the treat! Highly recommend stopping in here when in Witless Bay for a little breakfast or lunch before seeing the rest of the Irish Loop. Playing cards were on the tables to keep us busy while waiting, which was a great touch, especially for families with kids who wanted to keep them entertained and unplugged. The view is amazing too!
Friendly service. Food was served quickly and delicious . The home made bread was amazing . We enjoyed the bread pudding for desert.yum yum. Would recommend to all .
Quiet little diner, good food and nice friendly staff

Tasty, great quality, nice view.. portion size is disappointing, ordered plenty but left hungry unfortunately.
Nice spot for a bite.
(Translated) Very nice, good food. Even went back for the bread pudding. (Original) Erg leuk, lekker gegeten. Zelfs terug gegaan voor de bread pudding.
Great service, great food. Enough said.
Excellent, fast, and friendly service from the staff with a cozy atmosphere to enjoy our brunch. The food was cooked to perfection and the desserts (apricot cheesecake and carrot cake) were phenomenal. The coffee house is a must visit for locals and tourists alike.
Don't go for the service (dishes from the previous party at our table were left while we ate at it), or the food (good, but not worth a trip from St. John's), but rather for the view. Watching whales while you eat makes you forget the average food and dirty table.
Great service. Good food.
Cozy atmosphere that will make you feel like you're in nan's kitchen.
Great food, view and service.
????????
My favorite spot to go in all of Newfoundland for a lamb sandwich, a breathtaking view and great service. I've been to the Cafe probably 7 or 8 times, and every time the service is great and the food is better. The owner, as well as her staff are always kind and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I can't end the review without commenting on how good the pancakes are!! My best friend will order a plate for the table to share if a person hasn't tried them yet.
Okay food and service.
Delicious
Wonderful! Wonderful staff....clean location and great food!
great little place for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Great food. Beautiful view.
Service was Nice , the décor is a cool 50s retro, and the view of the bay is nice. The quality of our order was not impressive. The Bacon and Brie Croissant seemed over cooked, very little to it , it was not very good. We got crab sandwiches to go and I'm pretty sure it was 'fake crab' and very little of it at that. We also got a couple of desserts to go and those didn't impress either. I realize there are a lot of great ratings for this cute place but on the day we were there the food itself was not very satisfactory and the cost was more than it should have been.
Lovely views of the bay from the cozy dining room. I stopped for dessert (blueberry crisp with ice cream) and coffee. Delicious and excellent, friendly service.
Cute. Friendly place. Great food. Great view.
It is a lovely spot to visit, lunch was delicious. I had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich " to die for "
Will not return, its tourist season and closed at 2:45, no wonder the tourist industry struggles in NL with business practice like that, BE OPEN for customers!
Very nice, good food, lovely staff, great view on the bay.
Very nice staff, beautiful view
Lovely views.
Don't let the quaint retro look and feel throw you, you can expect great food and superb friendly service by the owner and a few other locals! Be sure to make this a key stop along the Irish loop!
Impulsive stop well worth it. Loved the slight bite (spice) in the sweet potato pancakes.
Beautiful view, good food, friendly staff!!
The Irish Loop Coffee House is one of those heart-warming places!!! You get a great welcome and service, you have a great view and the food is heavenly! I still can't make up my mind if I prefer the oatcakes or the chocolate/orange cheesecake. I guess I'll have to go again to decide. :) The food is obviously homemade and tasty (not so frequent in the area...). You come out of there with a smile on your face, it feels good!! :)
Service is great. Food is perfect. Great place to have a brunch and chat.????
Amazing food and desserts. Off season is great because it's quiet. Good view of the bay on a clear day.
Best sandwiches and desserts any where
Excellent
Great lunch
What a treasure!!! We'll certainly be back.
Great beans and fishcakes
Delicious food. Worth the visit.
Sweet little spot with tasty food. Typical “around the bay” service. Washrooms were not great as there was a sign up saying not even to flush toilet paper but to put it in the garbage can, which was offputting.
Lovely cafe very affordable with a lovely view
We felt oddly unwelcome, almost like a bother by even showing up without a reservation. It’s a coffee house?! I don’t like to leave bad reviews however being a first time visitor to NF it was disappointing. It took over an hour to order, eat and exit. We ordered sandwiches-nothing complicated. The place has about 8 tables, 4 staff working. ????????♀️…and horrible mac&cheese.
Best views with coffee and fishcakes on the whole avalon peninsula. Open earlier than other cafes (not closed til june like others waiting for tourist season)
Quaint great views
Great healthy menu with fresh ingredients and a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful view of the bay.
Great tasting food. A lovely spot for breakfast and lunch. Everything from bacon and eggs, to peach soup and bacon and brie with apple on croissant!! All deserts are home made and really good.
Fresh piping hot delicious food, can't beat the all day breakfast, super cosy, ocean view and personable staff.
Although the server was friendly she had no idea how to place cutlery. The carrot ginger soup had no ginger. The bread was not toasted properly and only cut in half allowing the tomato and lettuce to fall out of the blt. The pistachio square was half frozen with crumbly crust.
Sweet spot with excellent view and friendly, relaxed staff. Try to banana chocolate bread pudding! Homemade decadence! Extra bonus: a baby whale loves a tethered boat in front of the cafe so you can watch it bopping around and pushing the boat.
