Jim Fox

Great place for breakfast

Dawn Chandelier

Delicious place to eat!

Brian Woodcock

There was 4 of us and we all ordered the big breakfast, 3 eggs, 5 sausage, 3 pieces of toast and home fries. Great breakfast, but $75 for 4 people is a lite pricey. Was probably the $11 for the 4 coffees. Staff was friendly, very basic setting.

Nick Hart

Homemade meals done right. All Newfoundland brunch classics well done, very well priced.

Kathy McKay

I had the cod au gratin with a garden salad. Both were tasty. I was a little nervous with the waiter wearing a vented mask. I don't think they are recommended.

Valérye Hudon

Prepare your liver. I got the nfld special: tottons, cod tongue and fish cake. Delicious fried food and great service. Parking is tough thought, but the lit fireplace got my temp back up in no time.

Jaehong Jin

good for brunch. decent price and quality of food. good staffs. I love this place.

Patrick Wynn

Traditional local seafaring dishes. Salted fish, hard tack, scrunchions and chowder will get you ready for the walk up signal hill.

It’s okay. Menu choices are standard and execution is not much to write home about. The Caesar salad is made with those fake soya bacon bits

5 steps from the Sheraton where the same breakfast is $19! Great value, cute diner and fantastic view of the harbour entrance.

Daniel Janzen

Excellent food and service. The staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the breakfast and left very satisfied!

Lisa H.

Been here twice now for breakie/lunch... wasn't too impressed. The portions were not that big. The service was inattentive. We stood at the door for a few minutes while two servers didn't even acknowledge our presence. Then randomly they directed us to "the third table on the left" and kept walking. Not too welcoming. Our finished plates were not cleared away in a timely manner, coffees and waters were not refreshed. Disappointing.

Garth Tucker

Friendly service, great food

Michael Slobodian

Deck closed on a 21degree day.

Rude people

mike stamp

Good inexpensive food

Gerry Rankin

Nice little place. I had small fruit salad, eggs, home fries & toast. Food is just okay, absolutely average, and in no way deserving of 5 stars. But people do what they do and that's why every single resto in the world has a 4.5 rating on every site and the whole ratings thing is useless. Anyone calling this the 'best breakfast in town' is either not being honest or has had the worst bad luck in all their previous breakfasts. Service was the outstanding part, as well as the coffee which was excellent.

Byron Bwoy

Can Someone PLEASE sell you're Touton's in Toronto?

Michaela

I would not recommend this place. I was treated very poorly by the waitress. She was extremely rude and completely unwelcoming. I wish I had gotten her name but she seemed to be one of the head waitresses or a manager. I was turned off from the place the second I walked through the door. If you want a nice, warm, welcoming environment while dining I definitely do NOT recommend this place. I would however recommend Bagle cafe (just down the road) or Zacharys (literally right next to this place) they are both wonderful, cozy, and welcoming. This place almost ruined mine and my sweet little brothers day but bagle cafe saved the day and made us feel like they actually wanted our business and for us to eat there, unlike this place. I didn't even get to try the food because the customer service was so poor that it made me never want to go there. Not to worry, though! As Bagel Cafes food is absolutely delicious and so is Zacharys! Would not support here!

Amirabbas Ghorbani

Rick Bailey

Homestyle atmosphere and nice view.

Bilel Lasmar

Subin

Authentic, freshly baked homemade bread, extremely courteous staff, best breakfast, brunch in town. Their evening menu is also diverse with great options. Classic cafe hands down wins compared to Bagel cafe

loujein mouammer

My third time at this place! Amazing service, following great measures for social distancing! I highly recommend the 3$ Touton with molasses, you can’t get a better deal anywhere else! ???? Prepare for a wait on weekends to get your table but definitely worth it.

Steve Tapper

Great breakfast

Crystal Baxter

This morning we came in for breakfast. And unfortunately we were turned away. And not politely either. There were 7 of us and a toddler and she said rudely to us there was no room and won't be for 30 mins or so. Then we decided to wait and she then approached us and told us it'll be more then 45 mins. Once again very rude and told us to go elsewhere. We left pretty upset with a sour taste in our mouths. Our family comes every year to st John's and we look forward to eating at this establishment and to be turned away so rudely makes us second think about returning.

George Fleitas

Great old fashioned breakfast with fresh ingredients. Had the omelet with wheat toast, very large portion. Coffee was simple yet classic and served in the old style classic heavy ceramic mug. Will go back every chance I get.

Jeff MacKinnon

We visited here for a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon. The food was great diner fare and the fries were some of the best that I have in the city so far. Typically the fries are soggy and very greasy, these were golden and crisp. If you are in the mood for some good diner fare head on over. It is on my list to try again.

Gerryt Bruijns

Service is good. Food is good but expensive for what it is

Darien Rowsell

Awesome fishcakes!

Jason Peach

Visited with my wife and mother around lunch time. The drooling started walking past tables having a late breakfast. Portions were more than generous. We opted for a lighter lunch menu. Wife and I shared a BLT sandwich. I had a soup, she had a salad. Mother ordered a small ceasar salad. When you visit, visit hungry...portions were healthy. My turkey soup was very moreish. Mom's salad was more than generous. Lovely atmosphere and nice to see the water from our table. Our server was great and made us feel very welcome. Worth a visit if you are thinking about it.

Curtis MacAulay

Good coffee. Weird hours. Closed at 230pm. But open later again?

Izzy Grace

Great place with very good prices! I had a small wait before being seated and the servers were extremely attentive toward me. It is a great spot if you're heading up to Signal Hill and need something to eat before your hike.

I've been going there on and off for years. It is one of the best places to eat in St. John's. The food and service is always great with a beautiful view of our harbour. It's located so that you can also take a lovely walk of Downtown St. John's and then stop in for a bite before heading home!

Responce to your reply. Yes we mention to the waitress about the menu. she went to see the owner twice to let her know and the owner refuse to do anything about it. The waitress said she had complains before. -- a star trying to blame it on someone else.

Wanda G

Joe Cuschieri

Food was OK and cheap

Craig Bursey

Breakfast was good

Heather Friesen

We went there for dinner. There was 6 others waiting. Lots of empty tables. We waited about 20 minutes and waitress Courtney said she was short staffed and couldn’t serve anyone else. I asked if my husband and I could stay. Two out of eight waiting. She said no. She said she couldn't look after the people she had. This was at 5:30 pm. We left. Disappointing. This is no way to do business. Maybe put a closed sign out since they weren’t taking guests.
