You must have seen that the average score it has is very high, and it's founded on a high number of scores, so we may conclude that the score is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Cafe.
They were very busy, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite being busy the food arrived fairly quickly and it tasted good as well
I asked for more coffee from a waitress and she stood and look at me like I had 3 heads. Service was ok, just one hostess needs to work on her customer service skills... food was weird grilled cheese eggs Benedict was soggy.
I visited here and the food was really great. Excellent and fast service. Thank you very much
So i came in with my wife on Sat and my server just decided to have things go her way. I ordered one type beverage and she gave me a different brand in a glass without telling me. It tasted different so i then ordered a second one in the bottle and that is when she told me that they didnt have the one i ordered initially. Our appetizer, soup, must have taken 15min or so minutes and it wasnt busy. Our food comes out and she never once checked on us as the food was cold. We had to call another guy to come serve our table and wen we asked him where our server was he said she had gone home. We could clearly see her standing on the line on her fone. We told him and he genuinely apologized and just became our server until we left because the lady we started with never came back. I have never seen this before but this is very disrespectful to your guests. You can do better!
A very exuberantly decorated space smack in downtown St. John's. It's been the site of many important breakfast/brunch meetings/dates/outings with friends. The food has always been impeccable. The service had always been friendly but for recently. One of the waitresses had been my server for 3 consecutive visits. Each time other tables sat after my party were served first and left earlier. Each time my orders have missed items, drinks were forgotten, missing cups of water, cutlery, etc. On one occasion we received our food and was never checked up on again until we were just handed the bill. We had been waiting to order other items but chose to leave as it seemed obvious we weren't welcomed. On our last visit it was apparent she recognized and remembered us and the feeling of dislike is now very mutual. We have never tipped less because we didn't want other staff to be stiffed by one person's behavior so it wasn't like we're poor tippers or demanding guests. We just want the food and drinks we ordered and for the bill to be correct. I don't know if it's my face that's just extremely unpalatable to her or what. What would otherwise be a 5 star experience and review is unfortunately fouled by her poor service and attitude.
Wish the place was bigger but it's still a great go to for breakfast and lunch. Only problem recently was my server (older woman, very snappy and crude when I thought she was joking but it was serious) and my touton was like a beaver tail- way too crispy, stick to traditional and doughy please! Other than that, best hash browns, generous portions, could be priced lower but still okay. Fun for friends.
Really lovely spot! Great quantities and quality for price, with a super fun atmosphere! Such a cool spot, with so many interesting things to look at while you eat! The music is fun and the service is attentive. I’d say the only thing that struck us was the salmon benny had such a small piece of salmon on top that it was actually funny (see picture).
Service was excellent. Food was pretty good. I ordered a vegetarian oasis which tasted very good except I found there to be a little too much cheese for my liking. It was a quesadilla which came with sour cream and salsa, an egg and hashbrowns and was quite a large meal so I wasn't too disappointed with the price of $17.99. As well, I tasted my friends Greek omelet which was nice tasting. I was disappointed in the green tea; just tasted like dirty water but I got through it. The menu had appealing items for a variety of appetites and was organized with indications for vegetarian options. The restaurant had a euphoric style. The seating was cozy and slightly cluttered with 3 people at our table but I enjoyed the atmosphere.
Had breakfast on a Saturday at 11am. We didn't have to wait, but I heard normally you do have to on weekends. Hands down best hashbrowns I've ever had! Pretty expensive for breakfast but its worth it!
Item- Chicken Roaster with ceaser salad Price- 14.99 plus tax Quality-10/10 Quantity-10/10 Was walking down Duckworth street with group of friends and randomly entered the restaurant and we decided to have dinner there. Ordered this combo and was unsure how the meal would turn out but the moment the food arrived we were shocked at the amount of chicken and salads for only 14.99. The chicken was properly cooked, tender and moist The best part you get half chicken on your plate. The sauce was perfectly brushed on to the chicken. Salad added flavor in every bite. The service was great there too. would highly recommend.
Excellent place for breakfast if you are hungry! The portions here are massive. It’s more expensive because the portions are so big, can easily be shared between 2 people. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Even the coffee cups are big lol
Beautiful place with a huge menu, amazing staff and the most unbelievable toutons I have ever eaten. A must go when in St. John's.
Delicious food but sooooo much of it! Went there for breakfast and everything was very tasty. Had the smoked salmon egg Benedict, and would have it again.
Great location, nice atmosphere. We had breakfast, food was very tasty. The servings were quite large (too big for our appetites). My only complaint is that the prices are a little steep, especially the price of just a drip coffee on top of a traditional breakfast.
Recently came here for breakfast. This cafe is very cool building, old style basically. Food taste was great, staff was very friendly! Unfortunately, because of the ridiculous prices on their menu, we will not be back. Back at home in Moncton, NB, breakfasts at the same caliber will cost us under $20 for two people. Here it cost us just under $50. These prices are ridiculous.
Great selection of breakfast items, portion sizes are great. Great value, taste. My server was also very nice! I'll be back when in St John's
Hippy look, vibes and food. Totally Newfi. To visit is you want to have real Newfi Tatouns breakfast. Gets crowded on Sundays after 11 am. So earlier you are sure to find a place.
I got the Egg in the Hole it was awesome. Wicked hash browns which have some kind of spice on them that tastes amazing. Great coffee. The atmosphere is so cool it's fun and the servers are nice.
Cool, unique decor and atmosphere. Great place to come for breakfast. The toutons are amazing, and besides then touton breakfast sandwich, not oversized. Just a nice reasonable portion. The fries here are also really great in my opinion. Crispy exterior and well season flesh.
Fantastic place for brunch, lots of choices and the food was spectacular. Servers were great and tended to us when we needed it. Was able to make my own Benedict with what I ordered. Prices are fair but it's easy to pump up the bill lol worth it. They also offer outside dining, kinda wish they had bigger tables though. Highly suggest, toutons are top tier as are their Benedict options.
Cute place with great food. Their Breakfast is fantastic and large portions.
Delicious food! All-day breakfast, with exceptional lunch and dinner options (also all-day!) Got the lamb + scallops with fries. Large but not unreasonable portions, and I enjoyed every bite. Ambiance and decorations are busy but very cozy. There was a bit of a mixup in the ordering because some of the breakfast/dinner options have the same names but different sides based on the menu section, and the food takes a while to come. I'll have to come back to try the rest of the menu!
Stopped in for my last breakfast in NL. WOW!! Loved the vibe & decor. Service was outstanding. The food-I can’t even. Had the Townie Touton with baked beans & poutine-d hash browns. Best meal I had in NL. A must stop for visitors to St Johns.
Our breakfast turned out to be a total of around $70 for 2 people. Sushi is way less expensive than having a simple breakfast there. It was also terribly annoying to have 3 waitresses asking us if we needed anything withing a period of 3 minutes. It's really bothersome if you're deep in a conversation to have somebody cut you off 3 times. If they were impatient for us to leave, they could have simple said so. We couldn't be in peace.
Greatest breakfast in St. John's! Great service as well.
I've been coming here since it opened. Terry runs a great establishment that's unpretentious dining any time of day or night. A must for any hungry traveler or local alike.
Such a cute place to eat! The atmosphere was cozy and festive, and the servers were so friendly! You are definitely not leaving here hungry - portions are very generous and there is something on the menu for everyone! The food was delicious, some of the best hash browns I've ever had!!
For me, The name bagel cafe was one of the most misleading names for a restaurant that I have ever encountered. Since I was looking for somewhere unique for breakfast, the almost generic sounding name almost put me off. Thankfully, other faithful reviewers gave more content and I started walking that way. What I encountered was, was an epic menu with careful execution in warm and garish digs. A little high priced compared to other places, but worth your visit.
I can't say enough about this place. We had the lobster wine and dine for $60 and we were able to choose our own bottle of wine. The service was over the top; kind friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for breakfast lunch or dinner while in St. John's.
Had a lovely brunch with friends while in town over the weekend. I had the breakfast quesadilla that's served with eggs and hash browns and got a side order of fish cakes. The portions were much bigger than I anticipated but it made for some tasty left overs on our trip home the following day! Great/speedy service and very cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back on our next trip.
I love eating at the bagel cafe when I'm in St John's..the service is always friendly and your food comes quickly. Always delicious
Great breakfast! Had the Newfoundland Benedict. Superb fish cakes instead of English muffins, with smoked salmon on top - not too much, not too little. I’d have it again in a heartbeat! Great service, nice homey but classy ambiance.
First time having toutons - they were amazing. Also, the service was amazing and the staff were friendly and really helpful. The vibe was interesting - a mix between a beach house, a Boudoir, and i don't know what else. But definetly a nice place to go.
Fantastic food! Highly recommend the Newfoundland Benedict. Very tasty fish cakes. Menu is huge! Way too many home fries on my plate!
The restaurant is nicely decorated and it was pretty busy since it was a stat holiday. I got the Cape Spears breakfast with fish cake and baked brans as recommended by the waitress. The fish cake was very good and should be eaten with fancy molasses. I'm not used to the sweet taste of it so just had some on the side for dipping. The beans were a bit too much on the sweet side, so. Couldn't finish them. But in general this is a very good resto. Good friendly staff.
Amazing toutons! We absolutely loved this place for brunch; they have great food and good portions! We had the pleasure of having the hostess Shannon help us out; she was an absolute angel and service with her was excellent!
Excellent and fresh! Portions are huge! I had the French toast with side of fruit and there was a whole kiwi, plum, apple and more! Great service and amazing decor!
This cost 50$. I mean...great sandwich, no complaints....but holy cow. An expensive lunch to say the least. Yikes.
Food was bland. Eggs with no seasoning, and store bought hashbrowns without seasoning... also didn't have a Maple Syrup, just Aunt Jemima :( Service was okay, though a few minor errors which was easily corrected. (Didn't deliver the full order, brought the wrong toast)
We came into this restaurant for the decor. But downstairs was full and we had to wait for a table upstairs. While waiting we heard a waitress complain a lot. Like lots of other people we got a very tiny table. I don't know how people feel confortable upstairs, it's like there is too many seats for the space... The food was not bad but overpriced for what it was. I don't understand why this place has that rating and why people go back there...
Amazing place to go for brunch. The interior of the restaurant was cozy, quirky and lively. The staff were friendly and helpful. My coffee was always topped off. There's many different brunch options to choose from. I wanted to try them all
Fast service. Amazing very nice staff. Deadly food, I couldn't wait to take a picture before I dug in! Highly recommend!!! (If you like hollandaise sauce get the breakfast poutine!!!)
Great breakfast options, very delicious. Disappointed that this "cafe" only offers weak filtered coffee for the price of a latte... Orange juice is also very expensive for what you get, would love to see a effort put into drinks.
My first NFLD breakfast!! The Old Favorite with a side of toutons for the win. Make sure you have a friend to share with. HUGE portions!!
So good for any time of the day. Just stopped in for a dinner and decided to try the new Zealand lamb ribs. I usually sit on the fence when it comes to lamb, but these ribs were unbelievable. Such a great place with so many amazing options. Highly recommended.
Really delicious food and good portion for the price. However, the service was very slow. We weren't offered water to drink and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order. I ordered house drip coffee which they charged me $4.25 and my friend ordered cranberry juice which she was charged for $6. It's ridiculous pricing for basic drinks like drip coffee and packaged cranberry juice.
Nice all day breakfast/sandwich place downtown. Food is tasty, delicious hashbrowns and some good sandwich options as well. Prices are a little higher for breakfast than some other places, but you do get good food. Would recommend trying it out.
Food is top notch. Enjoyed my skillet. Good atmosphere. The only real complaint is the prices for breakfast and drink. Ordered a Diet Coke and was surprised at the price for a fountain drink. Double what a Diet Coke normally is.
The only way I can describe this restaurant, its like being at your grandma's house. Interesting decor, and knickknacks everywhere. The food was very good as well. The servings were generous and the pancakes were fluffy. The service was excellent. The menu is huge and so it gives everyone a choice no matter what they are looking for. Can't wait to try something else next time I'm in town.
Overall dining area was super unique. Came all the way from Alberta and finally found a place where I could find a full lobster!!! It was soo goood.
