Incredible! We saw this under construction for quite some time when we were shopping in the area. We are happy to to report they are open and have some amazing products. Firstly their Chai Tea Latte is GOD TIER. I haven't had something this great tasting since Rosso in Calgary. They have a great selection of snacks to pair with their hot drinks. Their staff was super friendly and great with recommendations. I recommend this as a must stop if you're in the area or heading to the train station. Don't miss out!

This place is ammmmaaaazing! Their coffee is extremely smooth, with a large selection of fun food items and accessories. I love that they have so many different milk options and customized your order how you like it. What makes this place spectacular though is the overwhelming friendliness of the staff. I'm blown away by it. They make you feel so welcome like you're meeting a friend for coffee! You won't want to leave ???? Their mission statement speaks volumes on their customer service. I am so thrilled to have finally found my go to coffee shop in New West. Oh and I love the name! ☕????

We know this because we also work long hours and they are open at 6:30 when we are on our way to jobs, until later In The afternoon when we finish There are 2 things any decent mover mover can’t help but respect and those are: 1. The staff, & the owner Dustin really take the time to get to know their regulars, & it shows :) this is my partner, & I's favourite coffee shop; it was one of the first places we tried in the area after moving into our new building, & we haven't gone anywhere else since lol. Their samosa's are to die for (especially with their mango chutney) & I've never once gotten a drink from them that was disappointing. Some of the best espresso based coffee drinks I've had in the mainland ☕️ Photo's below are a build your own sandwich on ciabatta with garlic mayo, asiago cheese, black forest ham, & red onion, with a hot mocha with heavy cream, cinnamon, & chai spice. Highly recommend! ????

At just a short walk from New West skytrain station, Serious Coffee (& Tea) is a must-visit for anyone and everyone! Let's talk people: The team here is beyond lovely and clearly care about every patrons experience from when you enter to when you leave. I don't know everyone by name but the staff are extremely personable and put effort into making sure your drinks are made right and to your liking. Dustin is a gem with more charisma than any one person should be allowed to have. Make sure to ask him how serious the coffee is! :P Let's talk food: While I've only tried a small selection of what's on the menu, the food here is - I don't know the words to describe it - *Chef's kiss* Separating the savory from the sweet, their sandwiches; breakfast or otherwise, are the perfect balance of flavors. I've tried a couple of their breakfast sandwiches and their specialty Rustica. Honestly, they pair wonderfully with the coffee or are perfect if you're on the go. Make sure to get them warmed up for full effect! The sweeter side of their menu is a dangerous area for me (I'm T1 Diabetic) and yet I enjoy it just the same. I've tried their sinnamon buns, lemon bars, and oat & fudge bars. Honestly if you can get a sinnamon bun before they sell out, you won't regret it. Or you may regret it making other cinnamon buns less enjoyable. Gooey centers and a perfectly sweet crown of icing makes these an easy centerpiece for their menu. The lemon bars are so so fine. Dustin convinced me to save one in the freezer to try later and honestly it was a whole different experience. Don't worry though, these aren't sour like lemons, just the perfect blend of lemon and creaminess to be a light and fresh little treat. Their oat & fudge bars . . . Honestly, I went into this one thinking, "how different can one oat/fudge bar be from the next" and I was proven wrong. Serious Coffee adds a hint of crunch to the fudge to make a shining star out of what is normally a fairly neutral snack. Highly recommend!!! Let's talk drinks (because we can't avoid it. It's in the company name!): They are serious about their coffee. While there may not be as many options for roast levels as some other places, Serious Coffee (& Tea) won't be caught lacking. Full bodied and delightful aromatics make their coffee shine through in any drink involving it and if you're just in for the coffee, you're in for a treat! All their beans are sourced from the island which just feels lovely, and if you want to take some home with you, there are bean bags you can pick up (as well as chocolate covered beans which I have yet to try) if you can't make it to the store very often. I've tried their Americano, Africano, Mochas, and London Fogs and can't quite pin down which one I prefer. The London fog is the perfect weighted blanket on a rainy day. The mocha seems to be made with a blend of dark and milk chocolate so not very bitter and not overly sweet, so pop a choccy and get your coffee fix all in one go! If you're in for the americano or africano, bring your head gear because you're about to get woken up. The americano comes at you with a left hook and the africano gives you that early morning uppercut. Espresso folks know where it's at, and where it's at is in the ring with Serious Coffee. If you're in the mood for cold drinks, pick up a frappuccino with just about any flavor that makes sense to be available. Ask for a frapp and if you're not sure what flavor to get, you may get to see their page long list of flavors. I've tried a mango and pineapple frapp and it was perfect for a hot sunny day. Unfortunately there may not be too many of those so it's going to be on to the next flavor for me :D If you've made it this far, I hope you're making the right choice and planning on visiting this cafe. What I've mentioned here is only the smallest sliver of what's available so if you go there looking for something different, don't be too surprised by the selection! There's a lot of it! The only way I could rate this place higher is if I rated them with my other accounts as well :P

Was so excited to see a new coffee shop opened in the neighborhood. Have been a few times now. Had a nonfat latte the first time. Great coffee. Went back two days later and tried their hot chocolate. Which is now my absolute favorite! They have a great assortment of baked goods and lunch options. We tried their cinnamon buns and they were so fresh and amazing. Dustin has a great team and I look forward to coming back soon!

Coffee tastes pretty good. Cinnamon buns, chocolate chip cookie, banana chocolate chip bar, and chocolate croissant are also good with coffee. Also the store is open early in the morning in weekends which makes it a good stop to pick up a quick breakfast while you are heading for a picnic.

My latte is perfect and tastes amazing every time. Breakfast sandwiches are so tasty. Also, the customer service very friendly. My only complaint is that there hours are so limited. I get off work at 5pm, and it takes an hour for me to commute to home. I cannot go to serious coffee because the coffee shop closes around 3-4pm. :(

Took half an hour to get 2 bagel. Instructions hasn't been followed, and low experience customer service. Bagel it self taste good, however the filling was terrible! Coffee got cold ice while waiting to get the bagels.

A SERIOUSLY wonderful coffee shop. I ordered a chicken BBQ calzone and a Cinnamon bomb which were super fresh, hot and delicious. It was my first time eating calzone so not the one to judge but the it is stuffed with chunks of chicken meat, covered in nicely-seasoned bbq sauce/paste. Mild tomato taste. The dough was soft but quite thick imo. APPLE CINNAMON BOMB is a MUST-TRY. I didn’t have high expectations for this one but it came out looking fabulous. A cinnamon muffin (i guess) topped with nuts then a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A drizzle of caramel sauce to finish the dessert. A spoon of these together was heavenly good-flavorful balanced in sweetness. My favorite part was the crunchy texture of nuts combined with the softness of ice cream. Absolute perfection. Please come and treat yourself with this unique creation by the store ❤️❤️ As the food wasn’t enough. I got to have a great conversation with the most welcoming owner ever-Dustin. He shared the story/journey from being a salesman in the car industry to buying the NewWest location to opening Serious and glad to be liked by the community. He said the most of the foods and snacks are made on the Island and shipped to mainland but are always kept and served fresh. Mid-convo, he noticed I didn’t have a drink so he asked if I wanted one and said it was on the house. I was so thankful for my latte- loved it. 100/10

I have been in search of high quality coffee in New Westminster since I moved here 2 years ago. On the verge of giving up on my search, I came across Serious Coffee. Serious Coffee is the BEST coffee I have ever had. The owners and staff are kind, and professional and really love what they do!! Wondering why I am saying that?? Well, let me tell you. I have an extremely hard name to pronounce and dreaded going to a coffee shop, and having the barista butcher my name. I started using a fake name. The running joke amongst my friends was I have a coffee shop name. I would give a fake name that was easier for the barista to pronounce and would say, oh that isn't my real name, my name is too hard so call me Sarah. Just so I can see if they would take the time to ask me my real name. Not once did they ask me for my real name, and would continue to say Sarah with an H or without, and I would reply doesn't matter that isn't my real name. The second time I walked into Serious Coffee the owner (Dustin), called me by my name. I cannot express the warm in my heart I felt that he had taken the time to remember my name. I have been going there everyday. I do have to say, when I move out of New Westminster I am definitely going to miss Serious Coffee. Not just the coffee but also the people who work there. They care about their customers and it shows. Hands down BEST coffee shop I have ever gone to. Great people, Amazing coffee!!

Went to this brand new coffee shop in town and was blown away with the quality of food, beverage and the welcoming staff. The prices are all very reasonable and serve in large portions. I would highly recommend trying this location if you’re new in town. Will be back for the London Fog and Smoked Meat Sandwich ????

Serious plastic!!!! Couldn't be bothered. How I wish that New Westminster had just one good coffee shop. And before you try to tell me about Hive and Old Crow -no, they each get one star from me too. I went into Serious because it was near one of my favourite eateries. I went in Seriously hopeful and came out Seriously disappointed. The food in the case looked like it came, fresh baked before it was frozen, from a big chain grocery store bakery. Each individual item was wrapped in plastic wrap. There is no freshness in that, just cheapness. It all looked so unappealing I couldn't bring myself to try the coffee. Serious shame on you -it's 2021, where do you think all that plastic is going after your customers peel it off your food?

Normally these guys are pretty good but had a foul experience today, barista made the wrong drink and lied about it, and the manager came out to disregard their "policy" of making a new drink and not just adding syrup to it by pushing to add syrup in the drink to fix it, when the whole drink tasted bad already, then were offended when I asked for a refund. Why fight someone for your own mistake? It literally takes 5 seconds to make a new drink, lol! Sincerely needs work on customer service, especially when your clientele live here!

I've always been a Starbucks fan but after coming to this location several times now, I can confidently say I am officially a Serious Coffee addict!! Each time I try something new (drinks/food) and I can say is WOW! My fiancé has a serious sweet tooth and LOVES all the baked goods. My favourites are the chocolate chip banana loaf, pepperoni cheese stick and the white choc almond cake! I've ordered teas, coffee (which is the smoothest I've had!) smoothies and fraps! My three year old loves the smoothies which speaks for itself because he is the pickiest when it comes to any drinks/food. I also love that they carry tons of dairy alternatives + sugar free syrups. My drinks were made efficiently and fast! The young girl who took my order was very patient as I ordered 6 different things. The many times I've came here the customer service has been exceptional. It's not just the people behind the till. The whole team seems to have a great vibe and and attitude. Thank you! Keep up the great work! Make sure to try the following: -Stone ground London fog -Hot chocolate -Caramel macchiato with whip & caramel drizzle -Iced coffee -chocolate chip banana loaf -oat bar -white chocolate almond cake

Very lovely and welcoming staff. Biggest perk in my opinion is that they offer milk alternatives for no additional charge, so as a lactose intolerant human I’m very glad for this option! Americano w/ oat milk $4.70 (after tax) – Medium size Good size and price. Smooth & strong coffee that’s not overly acidic or bitter. There’s a sign by the barista’s counter that says they will remake any drink that isn’t up to your standards, which I find comforting that they value their quality and are "serious" about they're drinks haha. Great place to grab a coffee and enjoy on one of their outside patio tables!

While sitting here, I have witnessed the Manager/Owner and professionals cater personally and professionally to each customer. It would be quite easy to forget this essential element in the consumer - product purchase, especially when the transaction is less than 5 minutes. I have been to this Serious Coffee Plaza 88 location a few times now and I have always received great service and good food. I have had the smoked meat sandwich which was good and the ingredients were fresh. They have become known in New West however for their delicious cinnamon buns. So delicious that I bought a whole bunch of their cinnamon buns one time to share with my family. I also need to note that I have a very serious food allergy so I cannot eat at some coffee shops/bakeries because of the high risk of cross contamination or just their unwillingness to accommodate. But Dustin (the owner) at this Serious Coffee location was really friendly and very accommodating to my allergy. Overall great experience and great service :)

I was so excited for this spot to open and lets just say, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait! I am a coffee lover and have tried coffee from several different places. This is one of the smoothest coffees I have ever tried!! Not to mention, their food is conveniently priced and they have some of the best pastries in town. Their oat fudge bar and banana chocolate chip bar are to die for. When you walk in, expect to be welcomed by the friendly owners and employees and be sure to drop in and try their Iced Mocha, or Iced Lattes!! You will not be disappointed. I know I will be coming in many times again :)
