Bat Girl

They have some good breakfast options. Good sized portions so you will won't leave hungry. Their hollandaise sauce is great and the way they make the eggs for the eggs benedict is perfect. The hashbrowns and all that are a little plain, so you will have to add salt and pepper to your taste. Otherwise this is a good ma and pa establishment and it's always great to support local.

This is one those Chinese owned "cafes" that used to be ubiquitous across BC many years ago, some were excellent for providing really good food at a reasonable price. This is one of those. Simple, quality and reasonable, nothing ever "greasy". Breakfast is a specialty and excellent but I do love their BC burgers! I live in Deep Cove now but I make a special trip over to eat here once a month or so.

Pretty sure everything came directly out of a box and was just warmed up. The wait staff didn't mention any specials and couldn't tell me different egg cooking options since I don't order eggs often. Price was super cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Awesome place.Great little hole in the wall type place.Very friendly staff and great food.Simple menu,well prepared food with terrific prices.Lots of parking on the streets.My only issue is that they don't open early enough( open @ 8 but 6am would be better.Especially on week ends,they open late compared to all other places. I love coming here and recommend you do as well.It's like going back in time a bit....You'll see !

Truly terrible, this is a great example of what not to do. Where to even begin... Ugly and dated, gross little bathroom, cheapest of everything. My boyfriend asked about a vegetarian omelette, and was told it came with tomatoes and cheese. He asked if he could add some extra veggies, and after some confusion (the waiter didn't seem sure of what an omelette was) we had our order in. When it came, there were no tomatoes or cheese; the waiter had confused our wanting to add more veggies, with wanting to replace the tomatoes and cheese. So we waited for this to get fixed. To be fair, the food came rather quickly. Unfortunately, the reason the food was so fast was because the items were either pre-made, or canned. I got two pancakes (greasy, crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside, and bland), two scrambled eggs (came like an omelette), and grilled mushrooms (canned). There are some good reviews for this place, and I'm certain they're left by friends of the owners, or people whose tastebuds have died. Bottom line: this place is great if you've done something awful and feel the need to punish yourself.

Don't come expecting anything fancy. Jim's has the decor of an old diner. It serves the usual cafe menu of all-day breakfasts, burgers, and sandwiches. The food comes out piping hot and the service is friendly and homey. The portions are big and the prices are good.

An ok greasy spoon breakfast place. Hash browns were delicious, but the ham and bacon were definitely low grade. The ham tasted and had the texture of a sliced sandwich meat. Scrambled eggs were cooked like an omelette. I'd return, but only if other places were super busy.

Service was exceptional. She was by herself and somehow able to provide polite and speedy service. The food came out within 15mins for the whole restaurant (6+ tables). Had the specials of the day which are $9 + $11: Farmers breakfast and Mexi omlette. Arguably one of the best breakfast restaurants in New West. Chicken noodle soup is brothy and delicious. Hashbrowns soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The salsa that came with the omlette is to die for. Toasts are surprisingly good. Eggs and sausages done properly, ham doesn't taste or look like bologna.

I came here due to the 6th st cafe being closed and I am regretting it. Im not going to get into ambience because when I walk into places like these im not expecting fancy decor. I simply want proper diner food and they did not deliver. Eggs benedict was sad, the hollandaise sauce was horrendous full of thickening byproduct and the english muffin wasnt toasted as well as the ham. Hashbrowns were crisp on one side only bottom half was mush. I give this a generous 2 stars due to my friends meal being marginally better. The reviews are completely biased and untrue of this establishment.

This is a very special place. Owned and operated by a very special family. Small town cafe, wedged in a big city backdrop. The food is like mom used to make in the 50's thru to the 80's and they wrote the book on customer service. 5 stars aren't enough. ⭐ so the New Westminster judge has given his own extra star to make it a 6 star pick.

First time going here.. will definitely be the last. Went here based on a 4.3 star rating. Wasn't in there a minute and the waitress asked if I was ready to order...i asked for a few minutes to go through the menu and I told her it was my first time there. Less than 2 minutes later she was back asking if I was ready. Based on pictures and the reviews on Google, I went with the Farmers Breakfast... it was a big plate of food.. but tasteless. The sausage looked like it was cooked earlier and reheated. It says it comes with ham... it looked and tasted like bologna. Meanwhile the couple behind got the same rushed treatment. They ordered a coffee as soon as they walked in.. they asked for a couple of minutes to look through the menu.. they waited 15 minutes for her to come back. They got fed up, paid for their coffee and left. Also, the entire time i was eating.. not once was I asked if I needed anything or how the meal was. I had to wave someone down to get a drink.
