Their Vietnamese Coffee with oat milk is AMAZING! Beautiful space. Great service! They have different goodies every day. Follow them on Instagram.
Awesome place
Consistently good coffee and friendly staff. Nice place to just sit down and chat.
Beautiful space and great coffee

Yummy Belgium Mocha!
Delicious food and drink, hand sanitizer available at door with spots marked on floor for social distancing, and friendly staff
Great coffee, a few yummy vegan options on the menu, it's close to RiverMarket, and a short walk to a SkyTrain station.
Very friendly service! Good coffee! They have Tiramisu Latte! ???? Amazing selections of cookies, pastries and many more! Perfect spot for quick hang-out! Physical distancing approved! Definitely recommended! IG: @avibrantstory
A local cafe in the new Westminster downtown area on the front street nearby the pier next to the train track. May be possible to have a chance for train watching if one passes by while you visit the shop; you may need to speak very loud to talk to your friends if you are there with them. Simple menu with hot and cold drinks along with some snack for sale. They also sale some coffee beans and powder if you are interested.
Good coffee and a pretty space!
Great breakfast wraps and vietnamese coffee.
Cozy environment. Great pastry selection (their raspberry scone is the most delicious scone I've ever tried) Amazing beverages.
Beautiful little cafe ,super clean and wonderful staff ,amazing coffee and snacks, ice pops are fabulous !
Amazing from start to finish - THIS is the place to go for a well-rounded experience. I have gone in three times now and the staff are charming, the food is delicious and the drinks are refreshing. I feel satisfied & so welcomed here. There is another coffee place in this area that isn't as welcoming...(and took 30+ minutes to put together my order.) ???? ...so this is my first choice.
Always delicious coffee, staff seems to be always changing, so some are better than others in terms of being friendly and easy to communicate your order with. Good space to hangout and get work done as well
Was excited to try Hive Cafe, and though I wanted to love this cafe, I was disappointed in quality and value. I ordered an Americano (with less water) and it was very underwhelming. It tasted burnt and watery. Probably the most bland (and worst) coffee I've had from a local cafe. Also tried their gluten-free and vegan matcha pound cake (~$3.50), which is overpriced for a pastry the size of two of my fingers, and no flavour of matcha whatsoever. I do appreciate the vegan options though. My boyfriend ordered a cappuccino and couldn't even drink it. I gave it a try... It's like the acidity of the coffee made the milk go sour. I had to send it back and the baristas kindly offered to make another one. It was slightly better. Another feedback would be that their cappuccinos aren't proper cappuccinos, as it barely has any milk foam. Only good thing I experienced at this cafe was the kind service after the awful coffee, but overall just very bad coffee.
Best cafe in the area hands down
Good coffee and warm, bright decor.
Very cute coffee spot! Staff were super friendly.
Really great Vegan cookies! I'm not vegan myself however I can appreciate the moist, chewy, flavor these cookies had. The cafés coffee was delicious. I had the Tiramisu and would have it again.
Awesome spot with a cool funky vibe. Hands down the best coffee in New West.
Good but massively overpriced for the quality they provide
A quiet place on the waterfront. I would give it 5 stars if they offered.more than coffee and sweets.
Very relaxing place to meet-up or work. Great food and drinks. I really enjoyed the vibes I had when I came in and during my visit. Their cookies are amazing, and I hope I can visit again to try their other treats.
Great friendly service and a conisseur approach to coffee. Nice space that could use a sofa but is great for business patrons looking to work in bright and airy peace.
Beautiful little spot with great coffee and amazing furniture!
Drinks were tasty but the baked goods (cookies) seemed a little pricey.
Great little coffee shop! Awesome customer service and a wonderful atmosphere.
It's really small place but very cozy
Hit or miss. Belgian mocha frapp was amazing, the oreo frapp was terrible. Sickeningly sweet with an extremely artificial flavour that tasted like medicine. Mocha frapp was great however, and I don't even like coffee. Make sure to specify vegan though as otherwise they add condensed milk and whipped cream. Decent selection of vegan goodies from bonus bakery and to live for. Staff were nice. A bit expensive though.
Always a great experience
This is the best coffee shop I've found in New West so far ( visiting from London). Delicious coffee, great interior design and lovely atmosphere and staff. What else could one wish? Highly recommend it.
I really like Hive - it is probably my favourite café in New West. Cute décor, good coffee, nice baristas. However, the star is lost for their very limited hours. I have planned to go a few times then realized they'd be closed. Check the hours before you go! Hopefully New West will get an independent coffee shop with longer hours soon.
One of my favorite coffee places if not my all time favorite. Whenever I'm in the area, I always make sure to stop by for my favorite drink. They don't take cash, so just know that. And they have real straws and not paper straws
Amazing coffee but more importantly, amazing staff! Their current Vietnamese coffee is a hit especially during the summer.
Friendly and helpful staff =) Their baked sweets looked delicious. Tried the grapefruit tea, dacquoise (pistachio & tiramisu). Took the goodies to the pier park across for a relaxing afternoon. Waiting to go there again to try their Spanish latte and other baked goodies.
This one is my favorite in the entire area. Fantastic coffee (I love their pour overs) + plenty of delicious pastries to choose from. Nice cozy atmosphere and nice staff too.
So I was on a very long bike ride and I mentioned to my friend that I would like a coffee. Being born in New Westminster I figured I knew all of the coffee places in town. We biked down by the Quay where the old parking lot has been torn down and a new trendy area has emerged and came to this little gem of a cafe. My only complaint would be that I was unable to have a regular drip coffee but the Americano I did get was excellent. The cookies were superb and the service was quick and friendly. All in all I'm glad I checked this place out. We will be back.
Very savey i love it!! ;-) XO
Probably the best cafe in New West, great for any kind of coffee drinker! Non-dairy options for milk drinks, great espresso, and wonderfully extracted pour overs. Their baked goods are tasty as well. All in a beautiful space on Front St!
Y'know what. Super neat work space and store front full of friendly people. Definitely will be back to make use of their creative service. Thanks for the awesome iPad stand!
Nice little coffee
If you want an Americano or lattes it's good, but if you just want a regular coffee you'll have to go with an American.
It's an ok place in new west. The bakery is not go great but the coffee is ok. Great service though
Good cafe on Front Street in New West serving many drinks and snacks with seating both inside and out. You have to order from the counter and wait for the order to be filled.
Hive Cafe is an awesome local coffee shop near the Quay. They are one of the few cafe's that have stayed open during COVID and have handled things quite well between their social distancing measures to offering hand sanitizer throughout the cafe. Their coffee and tea selections are awesome. I am especially fond of their iced Vietnamese coffee. They also have an amazing selection of baked goods. The coconut cookies and scones are fantastic! Daniel their manager runs a great cafe. We go at least 2 times a week now as it is our new obsession! Go try...you won't regret it!
It's a good place but I must warn that the hot coffee and tea is much much hotter than anywhere else I get coffee from. Maybe this is something you like but mine was still hot 30 minutes later.
Friendly service and nice cookies. The drinks are also good. It's a decent cafe. The downside is lack of seating spaces.
(Translated) It was small and the interior was very pretty. There are 3 tables inside and 3 outside. Unfortunately, there weren't many seats inside because of the corona, but the iced tea I drank here was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and it was just good.
Gorgeous modern/contemporary design, delicious Johny Pops, and amazing cafe mocha. Service is pretty good too! Highly recommend
Friendly staff. Bright space. Delicious cheese scones!
Good environment
Johnny's pops here are so good
Got some Donuts from the cafe a couple of weeks ago. A bit pricey but they taste really good. It reminds me of Cartems! They have limited quantities of Donuts a day so grabbing one early is recommended. They are locater along Front Street which is a nice stop after a stroll along the quay. I haven't tried the other items in their menu but I'm looking forward to trying them out.
Bright and clean Café with really nice staff!
Great coffee and amazing almond croissants!
So good♥ ♥ ♥ The staffs are very kind ☺️
Great cookies.
Lousy chairs, pretty small. The squealing of the ubiquitous trains just outside ain't great. Decent coffee, though
Nice cafe, would love to revisit once inside seating is allowed again (a bit too noisy with constant trucks/construction outside). The outdoor seating still works given the constraints. Staff were very friendly and positive. Their lavender earl grey was brewed perfectly - not overly sweet nor overdone. I appreciated them taking out the tea bag as well. Their meringue bars are so good too. Less sweet than a macron but similar texture.
What a neat store they can make pretty much make anything right on site in a couple days! Super adorable growths charts and playhouse for little ones.
Good snacks and coffee.
Good local place to hang in new west. Strongly recommend their cookies
The best latte in town, delicious healthy snacks, friendly and super helpful employees. Love it! ????
Usually it's a great place however I waited 25 minutes today and was never served. EVERYONE in line up eventually left without ordering. I guess they are looking to go out of business.
Nice ambience, a few patio tables too. Friendly service, great latte and the raspberry chocolate croissant is to die for!!
Staff are incredibly friendly, my drink was amazing, and the Matcha chocolate cookies are to die for!
i had their ultimate chocolate cake and it was by far the worst chocolate cake i've ever eaten in my life. it had no chocolate flavour AT ALL (i had my friend try it and she agreed), and was quite dry as well. definitely overpriced for the quality you're getting. coffee was good.
The croissant is so good :)))
Great place! Good coffee
Nice spot
Brilliant new cafe on New West's newly redesigned front Street. Wonderful art and excellent refurbished interior of an old industrial building. View of the trains and the river from out front make this a warm and inviting place for a coffee and some work
Their coffee is quite good, but I like their pastries more. They have lots of varieties. I've tired a few of them, and liked them all. However, the price is on the high side for both the coffee and the pastries. One thing that sort of bothered me was that the pastries are not covered. They're behind a semi-open glass window, right beside the cash counter. In this day and age, where people are ore aware of viruses and contaminations, I hope they'll redesign that to provide better coverage of the food.
Not too many bees... But lots of great teas
Neat decor, friendly staff, small menu, but made well. The shop offers a variety of local sourced snacks, like baked goods, and sandwiches from local... Sandwich shops/deli? One of these partnerships is with a popsicle shop, and their popsicles are AMAZING. Neat flavors like vietnamese coffee. It's pretty much the only thing I get when I come here, popsicles.
Absolutely love this place! The barista's are always so friendly and make delicious drinks. I like to try different drinks each time and they have yet to make it taste bad.
Friendly staff. Very open, spacious, with a view. Train noises too!
Their Beef Wrap (Bulgogi) is AWESOME! Also try their vietnamese coffee, it was amazing!
An OK experience. A simple coffee bar with a few tables and chairs. Not great if you're in a hurry, and a somewhat pricey for amount of food ýou get and the time it takes to get there.
Good coffee. Service is lacking a bit.
We had a bulgogi wrap that tasted like leftover fried rice wrapped in tortilla. It was small and overpriced. The coffee wasn’t anything to rave about either.
Great coffee shop in the area! Love their coffee.
Visited on Sunday afternoon, plenty of tables and seats. WiFi and socket outlet available for laptop or USB ports. Not much food options mainly cakes and cookies, coffee was great, London Fog is highly recommended. The nearby neighborhood of downtown New Westminster is such a quiet and relaxing atmosphere for weekend chill out or reading time. Much to enjoy!
this is my absolute favourite cafe in new west. the tiramisu latte is SO DELICIOUS and so are all the breakfast items they have. you can never go wrong with any of the treats they have, particularly with the vegan mindblown cookies and the dacquoise.
Nice, but understaffed. 40 mins to get coffee and a sandwich is a little ridiculous.
Couldn't understand attendant very well, had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times for a simple coffee order. Coffee was good, just wish it was easier to order.
Great spot for coffee and work
Very cute place! We’ve actually been in the pre-covid times, so could enjoy the unusual seats inside. The latte was great! We didn’t get a large selection of baked goodies though at that visit. We are planning to try donuts soon!
overpriced and not that cool, the old crow is better.
Belgian mocha and iced Vietnamese coffee were really good. The seating outside is so perfect to enjoy sunshine and perfectly located to grab coffee and walk the pier park.
It is a hidden coffee shop next to a train track in New Westminster. We searched on Yelp and found it. There was street parking or pay parking. Pay parking is not expensive. It was $1 for an hour. We originally decided to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in this coffee shop but it was full. Some people just went in by themselves. One person took a table of two seats laying out his or her books, laptops or stuff. Some people came here with friends. At the end we bought a cup of iced latte for takeout. The cup of iced latte tasted a bit sour due to the coffee beans but it tasted good. The coffee beans came from Pallet coffee shop. The interior design was quite contemporary. Colours, decorations, furniture selection and presentation made the ambience quite comfortable. Only the location was away from the main street and it was hidden on the other side of the road. If you didn’t check on the map, you would not know there was a coffee shop. If I live in the neighbourhood, I would come back here for a coffee and enjoy their pastries.
Must get the salted caramel latte
This place is a standout coffee shop that deserves recognition. Amazing coffee, tea and not to mention the lemon loaf cake. Great place, will make sure to stop by everytime I'm in the area.
Chill place. Cool people. Good coffee and snacks.
Amazing quality coffee! The place looks really warm, clean and pleasant! The staffs are super handy and friendly. Daniel picked for us the Brazil pour-over, and it was terrific! Definitely, a good spot to meet up with friends and enjoy good coffee!
Wow I’m very surprised by the drink quality here. It looked like a pretty cafe from the outside with a lot of nice reviews but I was faced with a handful of disappointments. I wouldn’t recommend to come here if you want good coffee. Both the viet coffee and belgian mocha was a solid 1/10 in flavour.
Good coffee, but so noisy in there.
Good coffee and baked goods. Nice minimalistic decor. But the only time I was in it was very muggy, it felt like 30 degrees inside. Hopes that was just a lone instance.
Hands down, this is my new favourite coffee shop in New West. It's a beautiful, bright and spacious space. They serve delicious coffee, and their shortbread cookies are delicious! The team's super friendly. They also have fast wifi, which makes this a great place to catch up on work!
This is a busy cafe down on Front Street. I find their baristas always running back and forth, working really hard every time I visit. It’s usually a line up on the weekend, but they always apologize for the wait in a professional way that I love. In this challenging time, I’m so glad that they still open and getting busier! Come on Sunday if you want to try their Donut; the Brown Butter is always my holy grail.
Walked into this place randomly and was greeted with modern, stylish decors made from cardboard. Barista recommended the spanish latte and I literally fell inlove! I came back the next day and ever since Ive been craving it. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Tried their sausage wrap and it was also good. Wish they opened later! :)
Such a cute little cafe! Perfect for an afternoon out, study time or work as it's a very calm environment with great service. The coffee was so good (an added bonus was the compostable/biodegradable straws) and so was the food. I would definitely recommend the iced caramel macchiato :)
Nice little coffee shop
Nice little coffee shop to visit. Coffee was ok. But the interior was interesting to say the least. Front of the store they have these cardboard chairs that’s interesting. A good place to try
First time visiting this coffee shop. Ordered an American misto with soy, and it was perfect! I love it when I get a well made drink! Will definitely return!
Great design, lovely treats and quality coffee. Located on a cute side street in New Westminster, near by River Market!
Great place nice atmosphere. Love it
I love this place, we have come for a few meetings and it worked perfectly because the space wasn't loud or crazy with the amount of people. The iced teas are great, love the vanilla rooibos and the lavender lemonade. Friendly staff always welcoming and have a smile on their face, good prices and the have the best to die for lemon loaf!
Cute little cafe on water street and very modern ambiance. They have vegan baked goods and milk alternatives for all drinks. I got a soy matcha latte while my bf got an almond milk hot chocolate and almond croissant. Everything was decent, but I feel it should’ve been better considering the price. We got 2 small drinks and a croissant, which cost $18.
What a great spot! Coffee was fantastic (had the iced caramel latte), staff were all super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming.
Good Cafe, nice location. Has limited parking up front but you could park on the side street and on the main street behind the establishment and walk down. The coffee is well worth it
Really good coffee and so stoked to learn that their baked goods are locally sourced.
Extremely friendly service, with all the recommendations for all their beautiful chocolate goods. The Belgian mocha was to die for, as it was creamy and tasted like the highest quality chocolate I've probably ever had. Their seating area is bright with beautiful plants, and quiet if you have a few emails to respond to (keeping in mind the time limit for covid restrictions)
Good coffee!!
When I saw that this spot was open for business, I had to check it out. Beautiful interior with modern decor and open space. When I was there, they were serving Pallet coffee, which is an amazing local roaster. Staff was friendly, and I will definitely be back.
Super cute cafe. Loving the interior rustic/ modern design, and the location as it’s by the Quay. Tried their Ice cappuccino and was quite impressed. Haven’t tried any of their baked goodies this time around. Nice staff
Cool little cafe! The latte was good and the matcha almond cookie was delicious
Good selection of Pallet roasted coffee. Ordered a pour over, barista seemed to be competent and was able to brew me an excellent cup of coffee. Unfortunately, got different beans than I has asked for, but it was very tasty and I would highly recommend this cafe! I will be back!
Had a medical appointment and stopped to get a bite to eat and coffee. Very clean ,quiet , good food.
I got an amazing london fog here. I didnt realise how much better they are with cream of earl grey!
Belgian chocolate latte was delicious. Creamy with thick chocolate (you can choose dark or milk). They offer some sweet and savoury baked goods too, and small meals like wraps. Hive City next door creates eco-friendly cardboard furniture, pretty neat.
This is a fine cafe but not my type. Serves coffee that is black and good but I go for greatest coffee in greater vancouver and nothing less. Didn't like the food as much either. I would suggest the old crow right beside them but there will be people who have the opposite opinion to me and far prefer this cafe to the arrogant hipster old crow. Try both then make your own decision.
Tasty coffee and cookies????
Croissants are delicious!
Super friendly and amazing coffee!! I always leave with a smile, and yes that's cheesy but it's TRUE!
Good cappuccinos! I drank mine before taking a picture, so I took pictures of the space. It really nice decorated and clean! Also the people working here are really friendly.
A hidden jem with amazing drinks and comfortable minimialistic aesthetic. The staff is great and the setting is beautiful
Average coffee shop did not like the espresso My suggestion to improve the Quality of taste would be try a Stronger Blend of Italian beans Lavazza.
Beautiful interior design, chiil vibes, electrical outlet, and a selection of vegan cakes.
It’s got a nice Vibe
Good lattes, friendly service. Prices are a little high for what you get.
Nice to see more cafes around front Street. Very nice interior design, spacious. Owners should introduce more pastries like crossaints. Coffee was great, can recommend Kenya pourover. Strange that it's closed on Sunday mornings!
Super friendly staff and a good selection of fresh roasted pallet coffee. Baked goods are availble (pretty sure they are made by someone else) but i dont find the selection, or prices very apealing. I also personally don't find the atmosphere of this place to be very cozy or inviting. Very tiny glass tables squished super close together. It doesnt create an environment where i feel comfortable sitting down and staying a while. They have the best hot chocolate in new west though!
Matcha Frapp very delicious with this beautiful hot sunny day!
Hive Cafe is one of the best local coffee and breakfast food spots in New West for locals and tourists alike. Tucked away in the hip downtown core, the cafe itself is always very clean and bright. Amazing food. I highly recommend the caramel frappuccino or any of their coffee drinks, as their coffee beans are rich and delicious. For food, you can't go wrong with one of their breakfast sandwiches. And their walnut cookies are soft and delightful. Eggs are delicious, veggies and sprouts are always fresh and crisp. If you're a tourist, I highly recommend taking your coffee to go, crossing the train walks at the crossway, and going down to the quay. You can have a beautiful, quiet, crisp morning stroll along the quay and there are benches along the water to eat food. Takeout: I've ordered from Hive through a few times during the pandemic, through UberEats. And there's always a nice little "Thank you Kamila" note on the bag. Very personalized touch, especially during a pandemic when people are feeling very distant. Also, on a personal note: Nobody ever offers sweet pickles as a side with breakfast sandwiches here! It reminds me of back home, which I haven't been able to visit since the pandemic. I rarely ask for extra side items, but I didn't see an option to pay for more pickles on UberEats, so today I left a note asking for extra pickles, if possible. And they did! They didn't have to do that, but they did and I really appreciated it. They loaded it up so now I'm happily munching away :)
Superb cafe!!! Such quality and variety with lots of vegan stuff too... I'm drinking an oatmilk latte right now and it's wonderful!
Great lattes. Bit of a wait this morning, but great place.
Beautiful interior. Food was okay
Lovely cafe. Great coffee! They carry Bonus vegan cookies, which are amazing! I had them the previous time i went, because they only get them twice a week :)
I was there on Friday morning, there was a short line, and I had to wait about 8 minutes for my turn to order. The 2 girls working that day were running back and forth as they experienced a system breakdown. They apologized to me politely for the wait, and to me, the incident happens, the girls were super polite and professional handled it. About the food: I got a turkey and Swiss sandwich on multigrain, which is so tasty and fresh. I also had an iced Belgium chocolate with whip cream and oat milk! Devine! Overall: the food n drink are outstanding. The service was excellent. I will come back more often for lunch.
Portion is small and pricy.
The place is very nice and aesthetic! Is not super peaceful but I'd a good vibe. Drinks aren't super good but if you wanna spend some time doing work/studying it's definitely a spot.
Delicious food and drinks!! The cafe looks nice and decent, perfect for taking photos. They have a lot of choices for sandwiches, pastry and drinks. There are vegan and gluten-free options as well. I tried the vietnamese coconut frappe, coconut dacquoise, tiramisu cake and they were so goodddd. Definately come back to try other stuff!!
Hive is my favourite coffee place in new west. Friendly and helpful staff, good prices and most importantly good coffee.
Mocha was great and the cookies were amazing, including the vegan ones. Also had a cheese and ham scone that was delicious!
Come get their new Vietnamese iced coffee. It's fantastic. Daniel (sorry if I remember your name wrong. Great coffee thanks!)
Good ambience and architecture, slightly expansive coffee compared to quantity.
their Belgium frappe was so amazing. I do recommend to try with their hazelnut crunch too. It's the best combination ever ???? ????????
First time trying Vietnamese coffee... Sooooo good
The iced coffee was surprisingly good. Will return. Interesting interior design.
Avo toast ???? Belgian chocolate mocha ???? Walnut chocolate chip cookie ????
Unless you want rude baristas, terrible drinks, and dried out food, do not come here. Came here for the first time with high expectations because of the amazing reviews, but we were extremely disappointed and even giving a 1/5 stars is too much. Despite there being 4 workers, 2 were constantly on the delivery tablet, 1 at the front till was extremely rude, and 1 was taking very long to make 2 drinks while there was a line up to the door. Asked the girl on till a couple questions about if the Vietnamese coffee normally comes with 2% milk, and she said it as a given and said “it’s cow milk.” Don’t offer delivery service if you can’t focus on the customers in cafe first. Aesthetic is nice, but I would not recommend or come back.
They make the best matcha green tea latte I have every had!
This was one of my favourite places to spend an afternoon: their chai latte is unusually excellent, and I liked the calm atmosphere. However, it's become too busy, completely overcome by laptop campers, and they've replaced their large table with smaller ones(likely to dissuade the campers) but it means that there's even less seating because he small round tables are a lot harder to share with a stranger. The last time I was in, a couple days ago, I had to leave without ordering because there was absolutely no table space. They should bring back the large table and replace the fairly useless chairs near the window with something more serviceable. Hell, replace them with the smaller, round tables lined up against the window. It's not like more than one person ends up using them anyway.
Nice cafe with patio! Parking is convenient too.
Great coffee spot. Minor complaint on Saturday morning wife and I walked over in the rain and we were a bit early. 8:55 stood by door in the rain and it was all good because they don't open until 9. But the young lady didn't open the doors until 9:03 and didn't even say hi she just complained that it was so early.
Friendly staff, cozy sit-in atmosphere and good Americano.
Very cozy and lovely place
Nice aesthetic cafe with some tasty pastries and good coffee
Great little coffee place. Not really a drip coffee joint. Has a few tables open during the pandemic.
Really love Hive, the pour over's are amazing and the staff are always so friendly and love to chat about the coffee and brewing methods. Also really like that they serve "To Die For Foods" so that there are vegan options.
Very very nice space. They have 3 tables currently, all properly socially distanced. When we visited we got the salted caramel almond meringue cookies, a breakfast wrap, and coffees. Everything was phenomenal and we will be visiting again very soon. So impressed by our time there.
Lovely cafe, with a modern feel located on a charming street in the heart of New Westminster. They have the most amazing drinks like Vietnamese coffee, Spanish lattes to Belgian chocolate Mochas. The cakes are to die for, so delicious. Highly recommend Jerry's Cheesecake, and the gluten free Chocolate Pecan Torte cake. The avocado toast is absolutely delicious too, the cashew cream cheese makes it so creamy. Check out this Hidden Gem if you are in New West or just passing thru is definitely worth it
The staffs are great and very patient. They also have dairy- free options. Great services and good coffee.
Ordered the Spanish Cappuccino and it was excellent.
Cute cafe close to my work but the food and service is not great. I asked for the breakfast sandwich and to get it without bacon. She told me she couldn't do it because they are all premade. Would think for a cafe this size they would make a breakfast wrap as you order it, who wants to eat eggs that have been sitting all day? Then asked for the grilled cheese instead. Took 18 minutes for them to make even though there were no customers in the cafe. She was apologetic for taking so long but I'm really not sure why they're so slow especially if pre-making most of the food.
My favorite cafe in New Westminster. It’s a hidden gem that’s kind of tucked away from the main street. Chill atmosphere and friendly staff! Just steps away from the Quay.
This little place is dope! Awesome treats and DONUTS! Love the details and aesthetic. Came here to get work done and it is most definitely conducive to do so in this relaxed environment. Awesome soundtrack was going on, fantastic pour-over and lattes, plus the loyalty card is baller!
You MUST try their Dacquoise Cookies! It’s crunchy on the outside and the buttercream in the middle is to die for!!! It’s also gluten friendly! I tried their Mango Coconut flavor last time and I had to come back for more.
Cute & modern cafe located along Pier Park in New West on Front St near the New West Quay. I’d recommend using the paid parking lot a walkable distance (~15min walk) to the café in the “Shops of New West” where the Landmark Cinema is located. There’s also small strip of paid available right in front of the café, but it’s a bit more difficult to enter the lot, there’s limited spaces, and I’m not sure how much it costs. Very nice to visit especially when it’s sunny, I came on a good day and sat on the patio which overlooks the water. My order: Avocado Hummus Toast ($7.75): this was very reasonably priced, and is served on a thin piece of sour dough bread, and topped with arugula and balsamic vinegar. Very flavourful and good use of ingredients on top (they don’t cheap out) Carrot Cake ($6.85): Super moist cake with real cream cheese, this was hands down my favourite item here along with the strong Viet iced coffee. Red Velvet Cake ($6.85): tad bit too sweet for me, but I’m also not a fan of Red Velvet cake in general personally. It’s moist though. Matcha & Almond Drop Cookies ($3.25), Red Velvet Cookie w/ Cream Cheese ($3.50) & Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.25): Cookies were jumbo and very soft. Classic choco chip was my fave cookie. Red velvet had a cream cheese filling (too sweet). Matcha flavour wasn’t strong, but still enjoyable to eat. Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($4.50): strong and yummy, I’d recommend this as well. Matcha Frappé ($5.95): matcha flavour was on the weak side unfortunately, and it’s super creamy (especially with the whipped cream). I’d say it’s even creamier than Starbucks’ matcha frappe. I’d also recommend getting it half sweet.
The atmosphere in the Hive Cafe is so cozy and pretty. Their scones and croissants are impressive. The workers are polite and friendly. I love their Iced mocha with oatmilk. Creamy and tasty.
Super warm staff and great environs. Wonderful hot chocolate.
You should know that you neglected the customer. person in the store is not the only customer. The customer just ordered at online and had to wait for a long time. The time to pick up and wait after ordering was very long. Some peoples came into the store and when they order at that time were completed quickly. And nowhere was there such a rude and long neglected place as you. I also spoke with the skip team.
Nice, clean, pleasant staff, decent Americano, but not much variety of food.
Sweet little coffee shop on the water. Had a great Chai Latte!
Cool new hang out place! The frozen pops are delicious!
This is a nice cafe with friendly staff. I ordered a breakfast wrap & a tiramisu latte. The breakfast wrap was good but it tasted like a frozen breakfast wrap that I usually buy from Wal-Mart. The tiramisu latte was something I hadn't seen at any other cafe before, so it was definitely something that I am glad I tried. My friends ordered various cakes, which I had a bite of .. and they didn't taste too great. All you could really taste was the icing. There is very limited seating and ordering took forever. I probably wouldn't come back. Gave it a 3/5 because the staff were nice and the tiramisu latte was good.
Cool atmosphere, eco friendly interior design and great cup of coffee.
Modern cafe, with a relaxing music on the right volume, great place to relax and work on your laptop. Loved to have a tea in this place :)
Cute place with nice plants and some non dairy options. My caramel macchiato was good and I intend to go back.
It’s unclear how this place went from a mediocre shop serving bland pastries/coffee to one of the best coffee shops in town but they were able to do so. We especially love their selection of pastries and artisan drink selections. On the pricey side but worth it.
I love everything about this place! Delicious sandwiches, wraps, coffees, lattes and omg the gluten free dacquoise cookies are to die for! Service phenomenal! They're usually quite busy, especially on weekends but staff are always apologetic for the wait and very friendly. I order a lot of delivery from them too and packaging is top notch - taped down coffee lids and composting containers. Would highly recommend (especially the dacquoise!)
Awesome atmosphere and sweet location, warm and friendly people.
Ordered the beef wrap (bulgogi) and it was bland and just mostly rice. $8.50 plus tax for the wrap and it's about 5 inch long, 2.5 inch wide, and 1 inch deep. Not worth it
The chocolate croissants are amazing
Cool little spot. Great coffee.
The Hive Cafe is nicely tucked away on Front street. Their coffee selection is awesome and the quality of drinks is one of the best spots in New West for a barista experience. Aside from regular coffee, they have drinks like the Spanish latte and Vietnamese coffee. Tastes great and a friendly experience. I also love that they have been experimenting with their menu by adding gourmet popsicles and melon pan!
The shop is in a quiet place where you drink your coffee with a piece of delicious dessert and they receive wonderful customers
Amazing , i love dishes and a decoration , hope can comeback soon
Had their Iced Belgian Mocha with milk chocolate, it was the best one I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who like a good mocha.
Very friendly staffs with delicious pastries and coffee
Great coffee. Nice airy atmosphere for studying for a couple hours or having a casual meeting.
Hive was considered a hidden gem to me, but maybe the real gem was the people that worked there.
Highly reviewed by a coworker and had to try. Friendly place, coffee was made quick ????
Loved the Lattes. And the coconut ball was yummy. Not overally sweet.
My favorite local coffee shop close to home. The staff are such wonderful, caring people and the food and coffee are amazing! Their baked goods and sweets they carry from other vendors are a MUST try and I love that they have dairy alternative options. The manager was so kind last week - I really needed a coffee fix and had my dog with me, offered to watch my pup so I could order my drink and treats. This isn't even all, the girls know I love the elmo bakery brownie and have been so sweet in messaging me when they have it in stock! Best coffee shop in New West :)
This place doesn't seem that old as far as business goes. This place is seen in season 14 episode 4 "mint condition" from the Supernatural series. The "comic book" store that the Winchester's enter is 2 doors down. The door handles are the same. This picture on Google maps is old because it doesn't show the hive cafe on street view. Pause episode at 9 minutes. The sign on the door "POW" covers the writing of "hive city" shown on the door from Google maps. Slice and dice
Nice café. The Americano was good.
Donuts were great, definitely on the expensive side.
What a spectacular little spot. Ended up driving here Sunday morning to look for a new coffee spot, and was pleasantly surprised. Asked the Barista behind the counter for their suggestion, and ended up getting a hot Vietnamese latte. I can definitely say, it was one of the more delicate Vietnamese style drinks I've had. Smooth espressos compounded with a non-overreaching condensed milk component made for a well balanced almost nutty like beverage. The Barista was also a treat to talk to. Friendly, professional, and a lover of coffee. We had a little discussion on our favourite coffee shops, and ones to try. I'm sorry I didn't get your name, but it was a pleasure to have a beverage crafted by you. Decor is very Instagram friendly, and the shop is warm and inviting. Would highly recommend this place!
Great job on the Vietnamese coffee Daniel! And having Hanna there with real desert suggestions made all the difference!
We got most of our orders through doordash and never once were disappointed with the food / drinks we got. Super cute notes from their staff every time. This is always a nice treat to me and my husband on a busy work day at home.
Came across this place when taking the kids for a walk along the beach. A lovely little place serving freshly caught seafood and homemade cakes. I went for the large crab which was amazing!! Wife had a cream tea which looked bang on!! Would highly recommend!!
A little overpriced but the coffee beans are tasty interesting flavors
They have Pallet Coffee beans with a variety of selections. Good vibes and tasty coffee! But it’s hard to find the parking, and the front spots usually are full of cars. We parked on Columbia st, and it was free.
Best cafe to visit in these super super super hot days. The mango strawberry yogurt popsicle is to die for!! Gonna be back to try the frappe and other popsicle's flavors.
Love this place :-) they have done so well at not only staying open during covid lockdown, but taking so many measures to be a safe place to get your coffee, treats, and some friendly chats with the barista. And Front Street is a great hidden gem to catch some sun and river views!
Unquestionably, the best coffee shop in the area! The atmosphere inside this coffee shop was very vibrant and relaxing. I will definitely rate them a five-star for everything that they provided. Truly amazing! Thank you so much, guys!
Best service ever!!
Excellent lattes, excellent staff, very clean, very cute, I wish I could live here!
A cute place to sit down and work! Their breakfast wrap is so good, I come every day for brunch with my colleagues and they all love this place! Staff are nice and friendly
Great staff, intensive real Cappuccinos for real coffee lovers. Ambience and decor is original and state of art.
Went to Hive for the first time today and the coffee was amazing and the pastry was delicious. I have to also mention that I accidentally forgot my bag there and the staff saw it and put it aside for me. I didn't even realize I had left it there until a couple hours later! I called after they had closed and the manager was able to contact the staff and I picked up my bag the same day. Wow, can you say customer service. Not only a great local coffee shop in DT New west but also has friendly and honest staff to boot!! Definitely a customer for life and will recommend to everyone I know!!!
I would give my life for the red velvet cookie. Best cookie ever..
The coffee wonderful and so are the staff!
Great coffee and nice sandwiches. All the great staff are very nice and attentive. You forget the gritiness of the area once you sit back and relax while enjoying your cup of joe.
Amazing almond croissants! Must try their tiramisu latte. I always leave this place with happiness!
Nice space, good prices, and good coffee - hope that doesn't change with different baristas. Downtown New West is finally starting to feel like a decent coffee locale, but they mostly close too early, except for a couple.
Amazing coffee and cookies!!!!!!!
The overall experience was a good one. The only constructive I had was the pastries I had. I found the croissants texture to not be as buttery as other bakeries I've had in the lower mainland. For the price you pay I would expect a better quality one. However outside of that I found the place to be quite nice. Parking in the area can be difficult sometimes but the Cafe has a nice vibe to it. The staff who work here were friendly and the coffee was good as well. I would still return if I was in the area but I will probably try their other baked goods next time instead to see if they are a better choice for me.
Cute interior, great coffee and friendly people. Will return 100%
I'm not one for coffee but the tea and pastry selection is top notch.
Great service
Haven't been to Quayside Park since covid. And the Pier Park had been closed for a long time. Quayside Park is pretty as always, and so glad we took the new walkway to the Pier Park and visited Hive Cafe. Vietnamese Coffee, chocolate chip cookie, popsicle and the meringue cookie recommended by Dave (hope it's right), Store Manager were all excellent. He also gave me free thai tea leaves to try. Will definitely visit again for the fabulous food and service, hopefully very soon!
Excellent place to work or chat with friends. Spacious tables, very sleek and clean environment and the staff are really friendly. I would recommend the Flat White. or if you want something a little sweet the Mocha is great, not overpoweringly sweet. Great quiet place to work and excellent coffee!
Good atmosphere, but limited seating, their instagram looks great. Latte is nice too
Cool place, but coffee was underwhelming (americano), not sure what happened, could be a one off, considering other reviews
I got a special delivery from this coffee shop which was from my son who is on London now. The coffee is still hot, the cake is pretty and delicious. It is a surprise to my birthday. I do appreciate their good service and the first quality of products they offer. Thank you guys, you warm my heart and brighten my day,!
