These folks carry bows & arrows coffee and for that, it earns my respect instantly.
Bon service
Awesome lattes.
Very nice place with great coffee. The attention was very good too.
Great! But expensive.
(Translated) A warm little coffee, always full of energy and good things to feed his soul. (Original) Petit café chaleureux, toujours plein dé'nergie et de bonnes choses pour nourrir son âme.
(Translated) This is the best Latté coffee I have had in Montreal. An excellent cafe which is in a great location. (Original) Il s'agit du meilleur café Latté que j'ai pu boire à Montréal. Un excellent café qui est très bien situé.
Must go for coffee if you are downtown. The coffee is the best one to can have in the city as far as I know (I've tried more than 25 so far). The ambiance and look are great and the staff is truly marvelous. I go there all the time to catch up with someone. Only thing is sometimes the music is a little bit too loud which forces you to raise your voice but it's not crazy loud either. Don't miss out on this gem, far better than anything you'll have around for the same price as Starbucks (it's just a trillion time better, you can't even compare them)
The coffee is good but it gets pretty busy pretty often and you can be rushed to order in an unpleasant manner.
Great coffee!
(Translated) Very good coffee (Original) Très bon café
Cute little fast place in front of the University of McGill.
Great coffee place, close to McGill university, cozy little place.
Among the best places in downtown Montreal for a great espresso.
Cozy and fun! You get quality coffees here!
Amazing coffee and delicious smelling baked goods
The humble lion was a wonderful place.
Unique espresso, strong and tasty
One of the best in the city
(Translated) Great cafe, nice for a relaxed study day! (Original) Super café, jolie pour une journée d'étude relax!
-Great/Friendly customer service -A bit pricey for students -Very high quality coffee -Great location short walk from McGill campus
One of the few authentic coffee shop in Montreal that serves real coffe in my opinion
Has a nice coffee shop feel but the americano was the worst $3 I've spent. Tasted moldy. Also their cup jackets are really cheap. A little hand humidity on a 25°C day will leave your hands brown from the cardboard
Great coffee, service and ambiance.
Cozy café and great coffee!
Staff is amazing, coffee is even better...
hugely overpriced, and the hot chocolate tasted like garbage juice on a warm sunny day. "humble" is the last word that would come to mind when describing this place.
This is a small place but it has a lot of good food and delicious coffee. It's best for one person studying or writing, but not really a good place for a group.
Creamy almond cappuccino waiting for you ;)
Employees are always nice and smiling, coffee is awesome
Good hip coffee bar
Had a wonderful allongé there.
Great latte and scones. Another amazing small coffee place downtown to drive away the big chains. Encourage local economy
Excellent coffee!
Great little spot. Staff is friendly and cool, the place is quite small but good for two or a quick stop. The coffee and music were good.
Great atmosphere and nice staff. I was surprised by their cup of regular coffee, it tasted great! It really stands out from other coffee shop's in my opinion I would recommend a visit to all coffee lovers
Very poor service and experience with the staff. My mom and I came in Saturday morning December 7th, we were ignored even though the place was not busy. Once acknowledged by the barista, no eye contact, very nonchalant, seemed too busy talking to the other barista and drinking her own coffee. Once my mom got her coffee, we had to mention that we paid for two not one. They said there must have been a mistake. We confronted them about the service and the blonde hair barista unfazed, asked me what they should do about it and the brunette barista laughed. I feel bad for the owners. Such a cool place. Five stars for coffee and scones.
Service was super friendly, coffee was solid, free wifi is a plus, pastries were tasty.
one of the greatest cafe tastes in Montreal . The location is great and the coffee is amazing. Bit overpriced, though
Café Humble Lion consistently pours great coffees and carries exceptional roasters from intelligentsia to bows and arrows. Jason and his staff are super friendly & knowledge people.. A must stop when you're in the area!
Very limited options and overpriced. I asked them to heat up a pastry and they couldn't..really?
(Translated) Great little cafe, the pastries are very good and the employees courteous! (Original) Super petit café, les pâtisseries y sont très bonne et les employés courtois!
Despite being a fairly small cafe, Humble Lion has all the resources and equipment needed to make consistently really good coffee. The staff are warm and welcoming, too! The cramped size of the cafe does often mean there is no seating left, but of course this can't really be helped.
Super tasty iced tea. Enjoyed it on the McGill lawn ????????
Wonderful staff and excellent coffee!
best coffee ever Downtown MTL!
(Translated) Brownies and Cortado! In Paradise! Top notch coffee. Don't worry about the line, the baristi are fast and super good! (Original) Brownies et Cortado! Au paradis! Café top notch. N'ayez craintes de la file ils sont rapides et super bons les baristi!
Good coffee, however it's quite small. Pricing competes with Starbucks but sizes are small.
(Translated) Small, charming, high-quality coffee right outside McGill (Original) Petit café charmant de grande qualité juste à la porte de McGill
Great drinks, overly cramped in the store however.
One of the best cafes in Montreal. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff.
I've tried this place 3 separate occasions and am disappointed every time. Coffee tasted burnt two of the times I went and my cold brew looks like ice tea and tastes like water. 3 strikes = not giving it any more chances. See my cold brew below :/
(Translated) Very good coffee to try! (Original) Très bon café à essayer!
As a place that is really close to McGill it is busy most of the times and you'll be lucky to get a spot around lunch time. The coffee is good and there is a big variety! Nice snacks and good buzzy atmosfeer. Perfect spot to work on the laptop with some background music. The tables are small but good for one person with laptop or two people chatting.
Very good coffee.
Had the cappuccino it tasted more like milk than coffee same with hot chocolate.
Love the coffee. The issue is with the Internet. Everytime I've been there, the wifi connection is down, so you can't get any work done. When I mentioned the issue to the barrista, she didn't seem to really care. I would only go there for a coffee to-go.
Nice little coffee place with a great ambiance
Cute little place to relax! Great coffee and viennoiseries. And the service is extra!
Extremely crowded coffee place for McGill students and business people in the area. Quite expensive but very good, I would recommend the latte fort
Very good Cappuccino and a nice view on the McGill campus.
Staff is super nice! Great atmosphere inside!
(Translated) Glad to see you open this afternoon with an equally delicious coffee! (Original) Heureuse de vous voir ouvert ce midi avec un café tout aussi délicieux!
Wonderful latte, friendly staff. The granola bar is filling and really delicious.
Great for coffee.
(Translated) Very warm. Good coffee, delicious croissants. (Original) Très chaleureux. Bon café, croissants délicieux.
Great coffee!
Nice music and atmosphere. It’s very young and artistic place.
If you are bored of Starbucks or other regular coffee joints, this cafe is a pleasant surprise! The cappuccino was refreshingly different and good. It is a tiny cafe with good coffee and good staff.
Very friendly service
Great coffee and fun atmosphere
mediocre food, service, etc
Lovely coffee with trendy décor and cosy atmosphere. Frequented by students.
They use a great selection of roasters, and the baristas do the coffee justice
An amazing variety of savory and sweet scones.
Rude staff, coffee is just ok, chocolate not that much. Not worth a second visit.
Pastries are the highlight, coffee is pretty good, but as others have mentioned their service is lacking in both speed and warmth. No hellos, smiles, thank yous, always make you feel like a bother. It’s a very small shop and lines form onto the street in the morning because of the slow pace. Wish the employees cared, would make this place great.
Great service, great coffee, great music, free wifi.
(Translated) This cafe was a really good place to find a coffee in the evening before studying at McGill University. Unfortunately they changed their hours of operation with the pandemic. Too crowded. Coffee is ok.
Cute place to work or study at.
The espresso is top notch

Excellent Montréal café. In the summer, take your coffee to go and enjoy it on the McGill campus right across the street.

I like this place, one of the few coffee shops in which you will get good specialty drinks regardless the barista that's in turn. The girls at the counter are always friendly and that emanates to the rest of the place. In the downside, it's on the pricey side of the spectrum and their wifi is unreliable which has, often, left me frustrated when I've headed there for a work session only to find that I had to drink my coffee quick and find another spot.
(Translated) Delicious iced latte, friendly atmosphere! :) (Original) Délicieux latte glacé, ambiance sympathique! :)
Good coffee but for the price, I preferred Myriade and Station Kaffe.
Nice cafe with decent WiFi. Good coffee and serves pasteries. Pretty small or hard to find a spot if you want to do work
Phenomenal lattes. A must stop for all coffee enthusiasts
(Translated) Their latte is inexpensive, and they have mushroom scones (fruit scones too, but it's the mushroom / cheese scones that I like the most). (Original) Leur latte sont à bon prix, et ils ont des scones au champignons (les scones aux fruits aussi, mais c'est les scones champignons/au fromage que j'aime le plus).
Great coffee, always fresh and always different (their filtered coffee). The stuff is really friendly.
(Translated) Excellent coffee. You must try the maple latte !! (Original) Excellent café. Il faut absolument essayer le latte à l'érable !!
Best scones ever. Choco cocnut is a must try!
Love their maple latte
Working away, enjoying the music and drinking great coffee!
Solid cafe. Teeny tables and tasty treats.
Very good cafe full of people and students. Little pricey with limited seating when busy but those are signs of a good cafe. So far my favourite cafe in town
Their coffee is good but often times it's too crowded and noisy and the seats are too squeezed to enjoy the coffee
Not a lot of seating, much smaller than all the pictures but I enjoyed the maple latte. Not so humble...
So so good. And that maple latte! Yum!
I love coming here before I start my work day!
Quaint but not a ton of space if you're looking to hang out.
I went once and got a wonderful raisin roll and large coffee I can´t forget about. It´s my favorite place now.
Cool little coffee shop in what is otherwise a coffee wasteland dominated by Starbucks. Crowd seems to be mostly students, but don't hesitate to go grab a cup if you work nearby!
Good espresso.
(Translated) The brownie, I have never eaten such a good brownie. McGill's Crowd, of course. Good fun atmosphere. (Original) Le brownie, j'ai jamais mangé un aussi bon brownie. Crowd de McGill bien sûr. Bonne ambiance fun.
Cute spot, wifi comes and goes but very cozy.
A classical Montreal coffee shop with great latte!
The Humble Lion was recommended by a friend and I decided to stop by and have a cappuccino. The barista was friendly and polite (I have read some of the negative comments given, but I can't agree at all with them) and I had a second espresso and she even gave me a few hints on the techniques. I'll go again to Café Humble Lion!
Great latte. If I was served this in Melbourne I would be happy.
Good quality. Place is not that clean. Note that it is always packed
Good coffee, very little seating. Full of people on laptops taking up all of the very small tables. Seemed to have almost no turnover on seating! Only seemed good for picking up a coffee.
Best coffee in town, period.
Not very enjoyable :( I really tried to enjoy my experience here but the coffee wasnt very good and the customer service threw me kind of off.

Busy café across from McGill. Decent seating. Good coffee and pastries.
Good coffee
(Translated) One of the only independent cafes in this downtown area where there are mostly big coffee chains. More expensive but tastier ???? (Original) Un des seuls cafés indépendants de ce secteur du centre-ville où il y a surtout de grosses chaînes de Café. Plus cher mais plus savoureux ????
Great coffee, great student study spot, can get busy at times though, so makes sure to go on off-peak hours.
Good music.
Warm morning welcome. Staff is really nice. A little slow for a morning coffee however. If you want an in and out experience, get the filtered coffee ready made. If you want a tea or a speciality coffee, including expresso and cappuccino, expect a wait. Forget tea if you're in a hurry, they steep it on site, to order. Go in for the ambiance and people watching, crowd is mixed. Well located on Sherbrooke. Give it a try.
(Translated) The best in town (Original) Le meilleur en ville
Crowded but it is worth the wait.

Very Good drip coffee. Cozy atmosphere. Trendy feel. Seating for about 20. No cream for coffee ☕ only milk ???? and that's why 4 stars instead of 5.
Good coffee
No place to sit
For those of you looking for outstanding espresso style coffee look no further. Very pleasant staff who delivered the perfect coffee promptly.
One of my favorite coffee shops in town. It certain hours, it can get very crowded.
Cold Brew started like water they sell great bean brands
I'm reluctantly writing this review. Really good coffee here, and, decor/environment is just right to be a great little coffee house. It's expensive, but it wouldn't stop me going in. The problem is that the staff need some customer service training. I've gone in there 6-8 times in the past two months, and each time there's rarely a smile or eye contact when either being served or afterwards. On my last visit, the guy on till just seemed to be in a bad humour and we could all feel it. Definitely not what I'm looking for - and doubt I'll go back now.
Good coffee.
Top 5 montreal espressos. Bonus: those pecan tarts.
Chill student café.
The place is cute and the coffee is not very good.
We found the staff pretty inattentive and generally uninterested. The queue/ordering process cause some confusion with what was being made when it wasn't even busy. The coffee itself was below average. At least there is plenty of seating and outlets if you're going to work on something.
Great espressos, great service, amazing scones (crispy outside and soft inside), their maple lattes will get people talking. I'm an avid strong latte with almond milk fan there, it has just the right espresso:milk ratio.
Provides variety kinds of coffee and it has indie atmosphere. I liked it.
The hot chocolate was not my favorite but the place is cozy.
Best coffee in Montreal
Get your coffee here
Great coffee with tasty baked goods. Relaxing place in the mornings on a busy street.
Lunch
Baristas are hardworking, owner is not. Whatever you do, avoid this place. I've heard stories from friends about how the staff is mistreated (I think the owner should learn about work ethic and equity). Support other local businesses with owners who actually CARE about their staff.
Good coffee, good croissants!
Great but not extraordinary. A uniquely sweet spot if you study at McGill.
Great independent alternative to Starbucks. It's a cozy little cafe close to McGill and my iced americano was very good.
Great coffee and atmosphere. If you're an Australian you'll find the coffee a bit weak, so ask for an extra shot. Great taste all the same.
(Translated) Good coffee. Third wave. (Original) Good coffee. Troisième onde.
Great coffee.
Best coffee and service downtown, always a pleasant experience!
Great coffee, amazing scones, nice location, pleasant decoration and helpful staff. As an academic on holiday, I couldn't ask for more than being surrounded by local colleagues at work on the most diverse and interesting topics, whilst sipping my coffee. Loved the place. We had breakfast here 2 out of our 3 days in Montreal!
Small place with small tables. The coffee is good. The staff is not very friendly. They don't greet or smile. Staff v
Perfect, cozy place, GREAT COFFEE!
(Translated) The coffee and pastries are really good and the service is quick. Only negative, the space a bit small and there are few tables to sit comfortably to read or work on a lap top. (Original) Le café et les pâtisseries sont vraiment bons et le service est rapide. Seul point négatif, l'espace un peu petit et il y a peu de tables pour s’assoir confortablement pour lire ou travailler sur un lap top.
Humble Lion has earned its reputation for great coffee. Lots of students and profs from McGill know this and so it's rarely not crowded. For folks who enjoy the frenetic buzz of a busy coffee shop, it's ideal; others might want to walk half a kilometre east or west for similar good coffee shops near Mackay and Sherbrooke and Parc and Sherbrooke, respectively.
Perfect view and good taste of the coffee ✋????
This is a great place to get coffee or something for a quick breakfast, but don't expect to be able to get any work done. I wasn't completely expecting that, but at least a comfortable place to sit with enough space on the table for a book and my coffe would've been nice. Would recommend getting your coffee and sitting somewhere else.
The maple latte is good but expensive. It's a cute tiny coffee shop so don't expect to always find a spot where to sit. Try to avoid rush hours during the week since it's in front of McGill University and a lot of working offices. The reason I'm giving this place a 3 star is because the staff is rude. I've been there at least five times and unfortunately, I was never pleased with the way I was served. The location on McGill College Street is much better in my opinion so I go there instead.
Simple decor and delicious coffee. Very close to McGill university, so it's convenient but also quite crowded. Definately try the maple latte
Fantastic coffee but a little tight on space.
Just go there
Cortado's are my favorite here!
Pretentious. No cream because the owner knows what I like best so why provide a choice....
cute cafe good drinks
One of the best coffees in Montreal hands down. Never dissapoints
It was 2:52 PM, but I was rejected for the service even without being asked what I wanted to get. The barista didn’t seem happy and said they are closed in 5 minutes (though officially it should be at 3 PM). My advice is arriving early if …
A lovely spot right next to McGill University that offers some delicious fresh coffee. As you enter the store, there’s a nice soothing smell that I can’t really tell what it’s from. The coffee is pretty good, a good energizer before a day …
(Translated) The coffee is excellent! In my opinion, the best of Montreal. The service sometimes leaves something to be desired. (Original) Le café est excellent! À mon avis, le meilleur de Montréal. Le service laisse parfois à désirer.
The staff at the register and barista who prepared my latte were both perfectly warm, smiling, friendly. Pastry was delicious. Latte seemed sufficient for my needs. Location is great. I’m a happy American in Montréal :-)
Poor service, coffee was yuk. No thank you !
Nice little cafe right outside Mcgill University, delicious cappuccino and a very welcoming staff. Would definitely stop by again to try out their pastries, which looked very appetizing. …
Welcome to a place where it’s not that busy and you’ll wait to be served not to be treated with a “hi” or “I’ll be right with you”. Humble.... really?
Very disappointed! I was one of Humble Lion's first customers when they opened many years ago on Sherbrooke Street. I encouraged friends and colleagues to become regulars because …
Great coffee.
Hipster cafe downtown. Maple latte tasty.
(Translated) Very nice (Original) Très sympa
Very good coffee. In love with their maple latte.
Great place if you love coffe shops ans coffe itself. So relaxing and comfortable
One of my preferred coffee spots, but the owner keeps firing my favourite baristas. Obviously it's his business and his choice, but being able to come in and chat with my pals behind the counter while they make my drink was a big part of the draw. I've got other cafés I can go to nearby where everybody knows my name ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Delicious, but too pricy
Probably the best coffee downtown.
not 5 stars - staff forgot 'decaf' option - however their coffee tastes so great, especially latte, both iced or hot. enjoyed it.

Great spot to meet for coffee
(Translated) Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. Perfect for studying or relaxing! (Original) Belle ambiance, personnel très sympathique. Parfait pour étudier ou relaxer!
Very nice coffee spot with a friendly staff
Great coffee in Downtown Montreal, although I haven't tried anything else other than their strong latte, which is potent and delicious.
Very nice little coffee bar with decent scones.
I really miss my morning coffee there when I passed by on my way to school.
It's a great place! Their Lattes, Cappuccinos, and espressos are delicious! However, I found their prices to a bit of a problem. When you order a 10oz latte, which is considered a large, it actually seems quite small. On top of it, it costs $5.50 for their largest size of a latte. Although the Lattes are good, it is a bit overpriced for what you get. Though the quality of their products are amazing!
passionate owner, excellent bakery but should have VEGAN alternatives!
Coffee is really good, but rather expensive. I would say the quality of coffee in a place like Pikolo is the same if not better, but more affordable. Staff is in general very very rude/lazy. I would say this is the major drawback from going to Humble lion. Otherwise, the place is very cozy and the food is tasty.
Cute little cafe near the school. Great stop for tourists who are looking for a nice coffee and treat. Staff was super friendly, and the scones were delicious!
(Translated) Classic 3rd wave coffee. Good products, great service, nice atmosphere! My daily stop compulsory! (Original) Café de 3e vague classique. Bons produits, super service, ambiance agréable! Mon arrêt journalier obligatoire!
Great little cafe. They have awesome coffee, friendly staff and free wifi
Excellent croissant, quick service, and a few places to sit. I would recommend a nice breakfast here.
Nice coffee
Loved the coffee
Artisanal coffee. I usually order the cortado or latte and they have never been anything but perfect.
Good coffee, nice staff, and Wi-Fi!
Good coffee, but overdoing it on the coffee-hipster scale: no cream available for coffee because "coffee is acidic and it curdles the cream". Pfft!
No honey for teas, either, although no reason given this time though.
Great coffee near the McGill university
(Translated) Good (Original) Bon
One of the best coffees you can find in town
Expensive but very nice little spot. Fairly busy, don’t go there to work or have a private conversation. Go for the coffee and the pastries!
My go-to café in the McGill area. Very interesting and tasty coffees, perfect espresso&milk drinks, and caring friendly staff. I'd say more of a hang-with-a-friend café than a sit-for-a-while-and-work/read café but one sees both there.
Best Coffee Latte ever! With great atmosphere. Love to hang up here! Keep it up Humble Lion! Auuuuuwwmmmmm
Cozy cafe with very friendly staff but a bit loud if you're trying to study
i went there for the first time today and I’m very disappointed by the service. Cashier was on her phone as i entered and ignored me until i said hi. Very cold and rude service. She didn’t even say hi or thank you. I don’t think i’ll ever go back.
Great cozy place and friendly staff. Coffee is amazing!
Chic indie café located right outside the Roddick Gates of McGill University. If you like the numerous other cafés of this type around Montreal then you should enjoy Humble Lion. During the winter and fall semesters it can get quite busy, especially since it also attracts the nearby financial district during mornings and afternoons. In the summertime they offer cold drinks; I quite enjoy the iced late.
Excellent espresso, good atmosphere and music, as another reviewer mentioned the seating is somewhat limited and tables small but ideal for conversation.
Ice coffee wasn’t great but the scones are amazing.
(Translated) A good place for an espresso or coffee latte with very good scores. It misses a greeting a little more smiling to be a really warm place ... (Original) Un bon endroit pour un expresso ou un café latte avec des très bons scores. Il manque un accueil un peu plus souriant pour être un lieu vraiment chaleureux...
I used to love going to Humble lion (the one on Sherbrooke). Latte was good and staff was friendly. Then, they opened a new store on McGill and I would go there because it is on my way from the train to the office. Main problem is they can't seem to have the temperature of the coffee right in this one... It would almost always be barely warm except when the owner would be there and make it himself... And they started to increase the price from 4.50, to 4.75 and now 5.00$ and they would force you to use tip percentage on the debit machine... So, if you are in that location, I recommend Carrousel, similar quality latte, more of it for 4.75$. I went today to the one in McGill and the Barista finished her lunch while speaking at another customer before starting to make my latte... and the cashier was not very friendly... And oh... the scones are amazing at the Sherbrooke location (because they bake them onsite) but really ordinary at the McGill location!
(Translated) Not super clean but nice (Original) Pas super propre mais sympa
Cramped little downtown cafe
Superb coffee and vibe!
Good latte, cozy space. Only problem is with finding a place to sit. Not a good place to go in groups.

Great little spot in the heart of Montreal with really nice coffee and good food. Staff is always smiley and welcoming
Amazing coffee and great staff, closes early and gets crowded quick.
Best latte in town!
A bit too crowded...otherwise its a good place.
Cool cafe
good cofy but the lion is actually very in fact stuck up , for example: he will not stop telling me his act scores (they’re only kind of good)
Iced Maple Latte is one of the best!
By Zeus, what a café! With décor to do Aphrodite proud and consumable goods as grand as a banquet of nectar and ambrosia, fortune is surely the right of this establishment! I must, however, warn you of the plague cast upon your coffee lids by what is undoubtedly a great daemon. Following my order of one coffee to go, I had to walk several blocks to the location of consumption. With each step, a drip did fall from my cup as I struggled to carry the container with reasonable stability as my hand became consumed by the mucilaginous waste excreted from the cup, burning me and making me out to be a fool for all to see. Praise the Gods I contracted no enemies along the way, for my path was made visible by the trail left behind me by your blend of bitter beans to the eyes of any barbarian wishing to slit my throat where I sleep. I dare even to say that, given one of your coffees upon entry, a man entirely deficient of virtue could find his way out of a labyrinth! Given that the function of the lid is to keep the liquid inside the container rather than outside of it, you must surely agree that such a lid is bad. My coffee may have been overfilled.
I used to like this place, but since last year, their quality has melted down. For $4.75 you paid for that latte, you might just invest on a Nespresso machine, which does the same job but only costs you 1/4 of the price. So 2 stars becoz the price you pay does not match with the quality you get. That being said, It is good latte if the price is $2.75 (considering their labor costs). I would not say this is my best coffee shop in this area, especially with Pikolo is like 7 mins away. Not to mention there are other good choices in the lower plateau area, like Hof Kelsten, Dispatch, etc.
Best latte forte in Montreal!
As a new customer, I got an overpriced and very small-8 oz fluid-hot chocolate that tasted like... Play-doh. And the attitude there. Not so humble... Even Indigo has better hot chocolate for the same price and bigger size.
Great coffee place. Not many places to sit and may get a little crowded from time to time. Probably one of the best affordable coffee in this part of the city. They serve good little pastries which are changing everyday. Longer open hours would be a plus.
Cute, but fairly loud and the coffee is overpriced
So many good memories at this place. Best place for McGill students to hang out in.
Had a great latte
Owner has Good knowledge about coffee. Means how to make real coffee.
Great Latte!
Meal type
Kinda busy and small space but the best scones in town!
Great service. Excelente Chai tea and coffee. I also recommend the scones.
Great coffee but this place is very small and ALWAYS busy as it's right across from McGill. Great choice for a coffee to go but if you're looking for a place to sit down or if you're a party of more than 2 then I recommend you go elsewhere.
One of my regular places to get a great latte! Ideally take it to go, small and crowded. Friendly staff! Oh ! Careful closing hours are wrong, it closes at 5pm on weekdays!
(Translated) For an Italian, coffee is not that great (Original) Per un italiano il caffè non è un gran che
The coffee here is delicious, and generally lighter in flavour and colour than many other cafés. Prices are reasonable.
Nice atmosphere. A few tables in the back but most seating is bar style along the walls.
Nice cozy coffee shop conveniently close to McGill campus
Delicious coffee and great pastries. Cute and cozy atmosphere
Great coffee rotation every year since I started going there 3 years ago. Baristas are knowledgeable and do a very good job.
It's been a number of years now that I've been visiting this café. The staff are always very friendly, they enjoy making conversation with you as they prepare your drink. The quality of their coffee is above average and seems well-priced considering that the shop is located at the heart of downtown. One draw-back is that the tables are small and you are crammed next to everyone; not an ideal spot for a date or study session.
Latte wasn't good and is overpriced . There's no excuse for bad espresso in Montreal anymore with the availability of resources. The only reason this place is around might be because it's the only thing better than Starbucks that's close to McGill. As some reviews mentioned, there are better cafes in the area.
I used to like it--- but the music is soooo loud. It's unbearable.
Good coffee. Pleasant environment.
Nice coffee shop with some good pastries !
Delicious coffee and cool staff.
Delicious treats!

Free internet, great tea but wooden benches aren't that comfortable.
Late is subpar. Would not recommend.
Great coffee spot. Better coffee and slightly cheaper than Starbucks. Good, quick service. Lively ambiance and music. Their baked goods are excellent too. Try the granola bar!
Good selection of food and drink all of which was well prepared and presented. Great view and location. Friendly staff.
Looks like a nice small place to study but when I got there it was 4:45.. and they were cleaning up and putting up stools ready to close ar 5:13ish (closes at 6pm). Hot chocolate is expensive and made with what looked like to me dried up …
The Maple Latte is lovely; a must for people who enjoy sweet, silky smooth lattes!
Great coffee ????
Today was my first and last visit. Poor seating area, poor service and atmosphere. I don't care how the coffee tastes, this place sucks...The music was so loud and personnal, not everyone's taste. It ended up making custumers speak louder and making people reading a book or doing work very difficult. Surprisingly I asked the worker what explains their choice of music and she says" our boss wants their employees to be confortable while they work, so we choose what music to play". Dear owner, what a great attitude and business plan. You care more for your employe's compfort than your clients? Your employe is payed, while we pay to be there! Dear worker, I understand you wanna be compfortable in your workplace but a little empathy won't kill you, there's other people in the room who also want to be enjoying their time.
This coffee shop knows how to make a mean cappuccino. It is extremely close to campus which is perfect for grabbing a quality coffee and croissant in between classes. The staff is friendly and speedy. The only thing to note is that it is quite small thus making it difficult to social distance.
Hidden gem across from McGill. The best latte's I have ever tasted and what can I say about their baked goods (especially the brownies and the scones). I have to use self restraint every time I walk in! Simply amazing coffee shop!
For $3.75 I purchased an extremely small, and very watery, iced coffee. I was also informed there was no cream of any kind whatsoever on their premises. No cream at a coffee shop! Really?! Considerably worse than McDonalds... had much higher hopes for what appears to be a decent independent cafe.
Very good coffee. Paid $8.50 for a Latte and a scone.
Great coffee !

Been a pleasure going here while at McGill.
This is a very cute coffee shop but just like other reviews state it, the employees aren't very warm nor welcoming. I had a matcha latte, it was good..price was 5$ & it wasn’t even that big, so this place is a bit pricey. But I would still come back though, because it’s well located & they have a nice atmosphere going on but it would for sure be more pleasant if i would have felt more welcomed. I also like that they had an option for paper straws instead of plastic ones.
One of the best cafes in town for a flat white and croissant. I miss going there and sitting by the window.
Great coffee. A perfect machiato every time. The blueberry scones are the best I've ever had.
This cafe is always delightful to go to. Right across from mcgill they have great lattes and tons of delicious fresh baked pastries. All of the staff are super nice and lovely to talk to while taking your order and making your drink. Worth way over five stars
Good coffee but extremely loud place. It seems that they want to kick you out, the sooner the better
Friendly staff and good coffee
(Translated) Good coffee. Warm place. 4 stars and not 5 because a little noisy when you are installed. (Original) Bons cafés. Endroit chaleureux. 4 étoiles et pas 5 car un peu bruyant quand on est installé.
Friendly! treated our kids so nice! The latte with maple syrup is good! Thanks Emily!(:
Great coffee shop with relaxing chill atmosphere.
The environment was great and the coffee was not bad. The service was like other reviews mentioned a little bit cool. But I think it is a chill cafe. It is a little bit pricey for me.
Coffee is average at best, service is poor, pastry’s delivered from somewhere else and not fresh
Nice small coffee shop with a cozy ambiance near McGill University. However, the coffee products had very small sizes and sometimes tasted a little watery.
Great Staff , Great coffee Perfect!
Small but nice place to grab a good cappuccino...
(Translated) Passable welcome, coffee too liquid and too acidic for my taste. I don't think of going back there. (Original) Accueil passable, cafe trop liquide et trop acide à mon goût. Je ne pense pas y retourner.
Great coffee experience, small uncomfortable seating
Love the maple latte and the fact that it's right across from the McGill campus.
Cozy Cafe to hang out with friends.
Feels like a Seattle coffeshop
Nice little cosy cafe. Too bad they were out of hot chocolate and I only could have tea.
