I can't say enough about Pam and the amazing team at Forth. Pam and her crew helped us pull off a 200 person wedding at this venue and it was absolutely spectacular. Her team accommodated every curve ball, every detail and executed it brilliantly. We had every room filled with musicians, decor, entertainment and 5 bars in operation at peak times. The back cafe looked amazing decked out in lanterns and string lights (decor provided by us) and my clients were BLOWN AWAY. Her staff were friendly, quick thinking, always positive and available to help. They not only ran a perfect reception, they enthusiastically encouraged and supported the number of local musicians and entertainers we had going at all times - it was awesome! I wish all my clients booked this amazing space for their weddings and special events and I can't wait to work here again. 5 stars, highly recommend.

After reading the reviews of Forth, my expectations were high. I was extremely disappointed after going as both the food and customer service was poor. There was a miscommunication with the drinks, and our food took over half an hour, and was almost cold by the time we got it. After receiving my coffee, I noticed there was something off about it. It tasted more bitter than any latte I've ever had and even had burnt undertones that made it very unpleasant. I did some research when i got home and I think the coffee was either over roasted, or was left over from the day before that they used the next day for iced coffee. There was nothing special about the food and I don't understand what all the hype is about. I really wanted to like this place, but I definitely won't be going again.

A beautiful building to be sure, visible wood beams and brick architecture brings me a lot of joy, and this place does not disappoint. Take my advice, if you're doing the avocado toast, get the second egg, it's worth it. The other lovely surprise was the great coffee. Be sure to wear your blundstones to fit in with the trendy crowd. My main gripe was more with finding parking in the exchange in -40 weather. Otherwise this is a very cool place, a second visit is in the near future.

Ice tea was good for flavour. But they filled the small jar to the top with ice before pouring in what was about an actual measuring cup of iced tea. For $3.75+ tax? Almost walked out right there. Atmosphere is nice. But if this is the way they make their money by being as penny pinching as possible, they don't deserve your business. Know who else makes in-house iced tea? Stella's. And they charge $2.85 and don't try to punch you in the wallet while they smile like they do at Forth.

Great space with limited seating during peak times. But like all coffee shops, the quality of your drink depends entirely upon the skill of the barista. I've been four times: once, the noisette I ordered was one of the most enjoyable espresso-type drinks I've ever had; however, on the other three visits, the drink I ordered (noisette, latté, flat white) was entirely spoiled by the flavour of spent grounds.

One of the hidden gems of the exchange district. As a hole in the wall coffee shop, this place is well worth a visit. The coffee quality is excellent and the shop is quite large for meetings, studying or just enjoying a cup of their delicious coffee. It also houses Dogwood coffee Roasters where they roast their own beans.

Edit: Well - I had enjoyed this place a few times in the past but I won't be supporting them again. They decided to close indoor dining rather than adhere to covid safety regulations. Every dollar is a vote, and I don't choose to support businesses with the attitude the anti-vax/anti-mask is a valid viewpoint with entertaining. However, since they aren't actually breaking rules or doing anything dangerous I will leave my old review and rating. Original: This is a nice place with a fun bright atmosphere with good quality and well prepared food. It's very hipster, but in a good way.

Dropped by to try out their cardamom date latte. Honestly wasn't that impressed with it. Service was fantastic however and the space is very nice. Their other lattes are fine. They have a bar with the same name, but it's kind of on the other side. You have to go through another entrance to get there. It does have a separate Google location as well. That space is beautiful and dimly lit. A very romantic mood. The drink however is very Instagram worthy.

Small menu, easy to make items, however it was delicious and well made. Service was friendly and coffee is great. We took advantage of the dog friendly patio. Only reason why it’s not five stars is we both agreed that for the price we paid we would have liked just a little bit something extra. A salad with the eggs, or even some bacon on the sandwich.

One of the biggest coffee shops I've been. It stretches between two streets. Very nice atmosphere with retro feeling. There are plants and nice decorations around the place. The latte and coffee here is really good. They have a small food menu as well. It's smaller than it could be but does the job for a quick meal. There is no big sign outside so it might be tricky to spot the place at first. Look for an old brick building.

This café has a very nice atmosphere. It has everything your popular mass produced café lacks; it has tons of places to sit, some with natural light, some dim, comfortable couches, sturdy tables you can work at comfortably etc. It feels very laid back and the traffic flow moves at a slower pace, making it feel like you’re welcome to stay instead of being expected to leave immediately after your single coffee is done.

Forth bar is an absolutely beautiful bar with an absolutely marvellous patio! After chatting with the staff they made it quite evident that the management had a big heart for them, it definitely shows in their great service and dedication to the guest experience! When I was there I tried the COPPER MONKEY which was probably one of the most refreshing bourbon drinks I’ve ever had! With ginger kombucha, grapefruit and a hint of mint to top the garnish. Magnifique I also tired the IDIAZABAL PINTXO which was Prosciutto beautifully presented on a baguette with a wonderful portion of fig jam, and Spanish cheese! You gotta try it!!

I would expect this attitude from a cafe in Brooklyn, but certainly not in Winnipeg!

Forth Bar is still a somewhat obscure establishment, which, consistently with the culture of the Exchange District, is eclectic and off-beat. Perhaps it is the obstructed entrance path or the confusion with the upstairs café that have kept this lounge out of the limelight. Or, perhaps it is the inconsistently stocked bar that make it a great place for mixology lovers but not wine enthusiasts, that prevents groups from finding something for everyone. Regardless, the combination of location, obscure reputation, steampunk Scandinavian decor and overall cozy ambiance, make this hangout spot perfect for TGIF drinks and first dates. This is the place to skip the drinks menu and get to know your mixologist instead. Try something new or get the bartender to mix you a drink according to your specifications. Then sit back on one of the comfy couches and enjoy your company. If mixed drinks or pure spirits are not your thing, just be prepared for mediocre wine and mainstream beers.

I will definitely be back now that Dogwood Coffee roasters is fully operational across the hall and Forth will be serving coffee that is roasted right here in our city. My only complaint lies in that it was a bit of a struggle to find their shop. A better street presence would most definitely help with that aspect.

I come for the retail coffee so I can have the finest coffee at my house, they offer a rotating selection of single origin and curated coffee from all over the world and when you buy a bag, you get an Americano with your purchase. I always get the same coffee I buy for my house to try, it's a nice touch. Other than that, the space is great, the service is modest and well versed in their menu, and there's a treehouse to hide in upstairs. Still have yet to visit the terrace, the basement bar is a little too camp for me, haha who would think winnipeg has a cool crowd?

They host a lot of events so you're in for almost some thing different every time you go. Strong Americanos, constantly rotating pour overs, great friendly staff (even though they come and go). Dog friendly main level patio & rooftop patio, cozy bar in the lower level open til late (makes some of the best drinks in town plus dimly lit comforting ambiance, and a large open spaced cafe with lots of natural light coming in. One of the only cafes open til 10 p.m. Amazing cafe.

I have tried both upstairs (café) and downstairs (bar). Loved both. Upstairs is roomy and bright, the coffee (roasted on site) is fantastic (and I am from France, I am fussy with my espressos). Great place to sit down, have coffee and work. Downstairs is dark and cosy. Has a short cocktail list but encourages you to just ask the barman for a personally tailored solution.

What a beautiful venue! The main floor is huge has exposed brick walls and wood beam support beams throughout. No music playing so a nice place for a midday meeting. It also offers a downstairs lounge and rooftop patio for more social activities. Staff was very friendly and gave us a full tour of the space as we were curious for private parties.

My wife and I wandered into Forth Café on McDermott after a photo-frenzied walk along the downtown side of the Red River, with views of the Ice-Climbing Mountain near Fort Gibralter. Forth is a lovely, bright space, with rough hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. The soy mocha was delicious, as was the banana bread! This space was occupied by the Lock Stock and Barrel restaurant and bar in the 70s. I attended the Manitoba School for Theater and Allied Arts on the second floor. There are lots of memories and good coffee, too!

I want to love this place because the space is gorgeous but I just don't... I don't have any issues paying for good quality but the drink portions here are tiny compared to other cafes in the area and the food is overpriced. The last time I went, my barista was very aloof and barely acknowledged me when I said thank you. I won't go out of my way to go again.

We had our wedding reception at Forth and it was an incredible evening. Our guests appreciated being able to order local beers, craft cocktails, and any kind of fancy coffee you could want. They also helped us to find a couple local musicians to provide entertainment for our guests. The organization required to turn around 3 floors for our event in just a few hours was an amazing feat. There was nothing we requested that they didn't make happen. Sara and I really appreciate all the effort the staff and management made to take good care of our friends and family. You're amazing at what you do. Thanks again.

I love Forth. The coffee/cafe is great. Open and airy. The basement bar which opens later in the evening is amazing. The drinks and snacks are so great, good service and quite the atmosphere. It is really small and we go out early (like 7pm) but if you go later, might not be able to get a seat. Same goes for the rooftop bar. Which I loved, except because they are so clever with their drinks (simple syrups etc) there was a lot of wasps and it was uncomfortable with them constantly trying to get in our drinks.

This place confuses me very much. They appear to be a serious coffee place, only do pour-overs etc. I had 2, on 2 different days, the first one was weak and bland, the second one tasted like nut shells or something, it was literally off in some way. They have an amazing space, and they seem like they should have good coffee, but I tried twice and both were awful. So I have to say, imo: avoid if you're a coffee person.

Downtown Wpg in the exchange district was where my daughter took me for breakfast. The setup was interesting, with a very small kitchen visible for us to see and on the other side was a fellow roasting their coffee beans in this huge machine. Soft music and what looked like pine wood tables. My daughter suggested something I never had before called Shakshuka (poached eggs on a bed do salsa and a sprinkle of flatleaf parsley which came with a lightly toasted sour dough bread slice which was so fresh and tasty (made at a local bakery) which I like, keeping other small businesses alive working in a way together. The food was delicious and the server was so friendly and shared where that bread was made. I walked away satisfied and relaxed and happy. I will definitely go back. I also gave compliments to the chef whom I heard travelled Europe to expand her adventure in her kitchen so she could bring the tastes to us.

My latte was wonderful. Perfect froth and the espresso wasn't burnt at all! Breakfast sandwich was also great. The overall feel of the place is calm and like it knows what kind of coffee shop it is. Everything is well decorated and cleanly kept.

Fantastic, unique space. You wonder where you are going at first as the door to the lower level is beside the cafe entrance. The light is mainly by candle and it is not loud so it is a great space for visiting. Bartenders were fabulous. They have a drink list but also specialize in making you a drink they think that you might like after having a conversation with you to see what flavours and liquor you like. We each did this twice, Bartender’s special, so had four different drinks. Each one was delicious! They also have a small tapas menu. This place is a keeper! Plus it is in a great old architectural area in Wpg

It would have been nice to have a sign saying seat yourself and order at the counter. Our table didn't have cutlery or a menu so I wrongly assumed a server would pop by with those things! Service wasn't great, although the chef was very friendly! And the coffee wasn't the greatest considering is a coffee shop.

This is a great looking coffee shop that roasts its own coffee. I love The Exchange District for the historic building, boutique shops and small cafes. This is one of them. There is lots of seating and free wifi in a really cool old building with exposed brick and timers. The coffee is good too.

Love the atmosphere! Best ground coffee that we have found so far! Love the roasting machines also in the shop. Unique and neat to see. Had lunch there w our coffee and the special was deliciously light, and came w fresh blackberries. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will be back soon!
