This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Pastry shop.
If you're visiting Quebec this is a great place in old port that you should try at least once. I would recommend the ham and cheese croissant as it was the best I've ever had, it was stacked with ham and cheese and once it was re-heated it …
This place is amazing! We came here for breakfast and the lineup was a bit long but the food was totally worth it! Definitely go here. The staff was kind and despite having a bit of a long order, it came pretty fast. Without a doubt the best bakery I’ve been to so far.
Absolutely amazing. We haven't been here since 2014 and it was great to be back. The food, atmosphere, hospitality was exactly as we remember. Huge recommend.
I visited here a couple times while vacationing in Quebec City. I’m a bit conflicted on how to review this, but I think a 3.5 stars is appropriate. The food, on its own, was lovely. I adored the broccoli cheddar soup, and the brie and ham …
Delicious pastries! Tried a lot of them and was very good. We went in the morning for breakfast and got the Combo Matin. A breakfast croissant sandwich which was warm and flaky with bacon and cheese. All good stuff! Recommend to come try it.
Great pastry shop, sweet and savory pastry, sandwiches, you name it. Sit down and enjoy your breakfast, lunch, dinner or random snack. And don't forget to take some with you.
Great service, food, and price. Great experience. Ordered this thing, didn't know what it's called and still confused after having it. Tasted good though. Coffee was good too. 10/10
Best place to taste real french croissant andn pastry. Love to find this place~ It is so amazing!!!
The BEEEEESSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT morning sandwiches ever I had, crowded place, almost 50 people in front of me, but passing so fast, the croissants are amazing, try the morning combo with fresh and awesome coffee! WILL BE BACK SOON
They have good selection of pastries, crossiant and cakes. This place is good for breakfast and lunch for take out and dine-in. Most of the restaurants were fully booked when we visited in mid August so this was our go to place.
Nice cafe in old Quebec. It is extremely busy but the service is fast which is impressive. I love how they decorated very nicely for Christmas and how big the space is. I have a gluten allergy and they were not able to accommodate that …
Equinox was awesome, loved it. Long queue for ordering but that's something is expected, given the shop's popularity.
Tldr: awesome place for breakfast Nothing bad can be said about this place. You come, you order some sandwich, and it was simply amazing. Considered the time period and how packed everywhere else is, this is really good. Ordered coffee, smoked meat paillard, and Martin combo. Very tasty! Highly recommended!
As others have said, the lines are long and slow. Looks like they are short-staffed for the time being. Food and pastries here are descent but not really sure whether it's really worth the wait. If you want to avoid the lines, try out Café La Maison Smith not far from here.
Not really any parking unless you pay and walk over. Good atmosphere inside. Lots of options but the croissants didn't seem too fresh. Expected a fluffy moist croissant but they were surprisingly dry, perhaps I got day olds, even though it was a weekend afternoon? Amazing chocolate dipped donut - huge!!
This place was very hyped up. We got the essentials to judge a place by, croissant avec un café. Perhaps it was because the place was extremely busy but we found them both to be underwhelming. There are smaller better places in Quebec City with better croissants.
Wow wow wow!! Pâtisseries , cafés, sandwiches… everything looks delicious, and what we had was very yummy! The decor is really nice too! Definitely recommend if you’re in the region of Vieux Québec!
It's a pretty spacious bakery. They have a few different stations where you can get different items. We came in the wintertime so there was no gelato section though. We ended up getting a couple bakery items: the bacon and cheddar bread, and an orange and white chocolate brioche bun. The bacon and cheddar bread was actually pretty good. The brioche was a bit lacking. Inside was just an orange marmalade and not much white chocolate flavor. However, I wouldn't mind coming back to try more bakery items. This place also seems like a good place to grab lunch.
Phenomenal food! Enjoyed it so much that we had to go back a second time. Their croissant sandwich had the most delicious bread I ever tasted in my life. Definitely recommend you try them once (or twice).
The food was good. Service was ok, they seemed a little overwhelmed.
Very cute cafe/bakery/canteen. As soon as you enter, the fragrances of the baked goods, coffee and bread make your mouth start to water. My wife and I got a spot in the long table and I ordered the sandwich (pic attached). I would recommend …
Beautiful Breakfast, really enjoyed this place ????
Excellent choices, home made likely food, fair price, cozy place. I recommend!
Amazing Quebec croissants, yummy family lunch, great latte coffee:) merci beaucoup!
I love this place, great sandwiches and pasties. Unfortunately I can't eat everything they had, but I can try. Huge selection and very difficult to choose, because everything looks so good.
When we were planning our recent trip to Quebec City Paillard was a must see for us. It has been in the upper town QC a long time and just down the road from our hotel Hotel du Vieux Quebec. …
I little bit overprice but the quality is there. This is not a artisan place, but it the quality is close to it. I ordered the sandwich combo with yhe Paillard salad, if you like blue cheese this salad is for you. The staff is kind and …
Prices are good, espresso only ok, pastries are delicious! Service can take quite a while when they're busy
Although the selection and asthetic of the place is quote appealing, the crowd and noise takes away from it. They should cap the capacity to preserve the vibe. Nonetheless the coffee was acceptable and food items good. I would not say great though. Maybe next time.
Their gelato isn't great but they have the best sandwiches and soups. We also got a few macarons which were also delicious. Everything is freshly made at an affordable price. You order at the counter and seat yourself.
Such a great stop. Living up to all the hype. Had 4 types of pastries. Nutella cookies, chocolate croissant, marzipan and …
I had my lunch here 3 days in a row while I was in Quebec City. Their croissant is amazing. They are crispy on the outside and super buttery and soft inside. I love their breakfast sandwich with eggs and ham on their croissant.
Definitely worth the wait. It has a big selection of pastries and sandwiches. Loved the chocolate croissant and the cheese sandwich .The only negative point was that :Coffee was Nespresso!
We came by here often for sandwiches. This Boulangerie became our favorite stop after a day of sightseeing. We grabbed sandwiches, soups and a dessert to take back to the hotel for a meal. A nice change, and cheaper than going to a …
Good for pastries and coffee, but was hoping for more Breakfast selection. Unique interior, with an old Quebec feel. Could use more cleanup staff, as the tables were dirty. Would give a 4 star, but felt it was over rated overall.
Great interior setting! Loved their hot chocolate.
Nice place for breakfast. Patesseri was quite busy in the morning. Croissants were great.
Generally a good option for a quick bite in the old city. However, they really skimp on the ingredients at their price point. Sandwich with “apples and brie” had very little of either. Also very noisy and busy inside, I recommend taking food to go and enjoying it in a more pleasant setting.
The croissants sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon or ham is a brilliant taste. Québécois are really happy because they can have it anytime. I'm really jealous. Why cannot the US make the same one even though they also produce all these ingredients?
Very busy specialty bakery. They specialize in baked goods, and breads/sandwiches. Their breakfast croissant sandwich was amazing. It was so flaky and buttery, and mixed in with the egg had that creaminess to it. Their pastries were also to die for. Highly recommend!
I visited on Monday morning for breakfast. The line was somewhat long and had to wait 15 minutes to order. I ordered Combo martin and it was really good. The croissant was crispy outside and soft inside.
Incredibly delicious pastries. Just wow. Great value for price.
They are one of the best bakers in town. Being that, one would expect really good baked goods such as Croissants, muffins, sandwiches etc and they sure do kit disappoint! Their almond croissants was Devine and so was their Chocolate banana muffin! The coffee was just like any other. One thing to note is that their service takes forever! It took is 1 hour to get through a queue of 20 customers. They are not very organized at that, not that they are understaffed. Would defiantly stop by here again, maybe not on a holiday or a public holiday!
Croissants was my disappointment. It's way far away from fresh great croissant, more like 1 or 2 days old((. Coffee a bit overburdened and not smooth.
Good coffee and cappuccino. We appreciate the chocolatine croissant, very tasty. The place is crowded, and our clerck was tired and not smiling
Good pastries we collected at end of the day. Creme brulee was certainly genuine and pleasant. Eclairs were nicely assembled with delicious flavour combinations , soft chewy choux and tasteful crunch elements.
Nice bakery to visit in Old Quebec. They have a wide variety of breads and pastries to choose from and coffees as well. The Croissant is what we went for and it was good but nothing spectacular until they heated it up on a Ham and Cheese …
This place was one of 5 Restaurants we stopped in during our Old Quebec City Food Tour we too last June during our 3 month trek across wonderful Eastern Canada. Our tour guide claimed they had the best croissants in town and we all agreed. They were fluffy, slightly crispy with an subtle almond flavor. So give yourself a treat when in the area and try them for yourself. Awesome
Their line is extremely long... we arrived at 10 and we ended up at cashier at 10:30 and it takes another 10 mins to pick up the order. But I can’t complain anything because they offered an extremely high quality of food with reasonable price. It’s one of the best pastries stores I have ever been. The macaron framboise will melt in your mouth with their raspberry jam. Their mille-feuille paillard is a must try. I would recommend to everyone and I think it worth to wait for 30mins.
Prepared food is top notch, especially the salads. It's a great place to have breakfast although the menu is pretty standard. Most of the ingredients appear to be fresh, but not all. The bakery is good, not great. Croissants could be softer, bread could be a little fresher, especially with all the people pouring through. The coffee is good, much better than the chains but not quite local cafe standard. Crowds are huge, the lines are long, and the prices are a little high, but overall I would recommend this place for breakfast if you're ever in town.
We stopped by here for a couple of sandwiches and I have to say that we left very disappointed. The bread was the best part but the staff working there are incredibly rude. One of our guests asked if they can not put any chili mayo on the sandwich and he was incredibly rude and responded with “no I already made the sandwich” When you spend money on 7 sandwiches and need to just change one, it shouldn’t be this unprofessional. We will not be returning here.
Super delicious! Make sure you have some time as lineups can take awhile to get through. I recommend the combo Matin. You will not regret this!
Servers - friendly enough - not the best tho Cinnamon roll - not recommend The rests are all five stars! Even americano five stars
A fantastic place for breakfast with a great selection of croissants, pastries, macarons, preserves, cakes, and breads. We waited over 40 minutes in line, but it was well worth it.
Highly recommend going in the morning and getting everything you want as it gets support busy later on and they run out of stuff. This place is amazing and a must go to when visiting the city. Pastries are top …
Great location in old Quebec. Pasteries were delicious!!! Only complaint was they didn’t have a croissant sandwich without meat which was disappointing and no herbal tea. When we picked a caffeinated tea it was just a regular store bought brand. But overall nice place!
Excellent pastries, croissants, baguettes. Can get super crowded, especially with tour groups of 6-10 arriving at once, if you are coming after 9.30am, so be prepared to wait in line!
Best croissants in the city! Service was slow but the food more than makes up for it!
We really enjoyed our breakfast and fully intend on going back. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The were much busier than usual, so tables weren't being cleaned and the dirty dishes were left to pile up. I highly recommend this place.
Very congested, very long wait even just for coffee and pastries. Cappuccino and cafe au lait were the same somehow. Croissant ???? was very good. Eclair had an unexpected chocolate filling, which was good but would have preferred the normal kind.
This place offers fantastic coffee, great croissants, bread and ready to eat meals. We bought breakfast that we ate onsite in a family style long table dining room... You have to wait to order & pay before you eat. They don't offer table service. However, it's pretty quick and they have great logistics and ordering & service system. Both were fantastic, eggs on croissants and it's sweet and salty sandwich were tasty and well balanced!!!! For dinner, we ordered sandwiches that were also very good. The fruit salads were canned and not very good though.
The lunch special is a rip off, the only allow you to pick you beverage and soup or salad. They will offer you a half a turkey sandwich which isn't filling at all and is not worth what you pay for.. Do not order it!
great place. good selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Lots of hot and cold drinks. place is very clean and ample seating. very nice atmosphere. Covid precautions were well above my expectations.
Pastry heaven!!! Had a chocolate brioche….. super yummy!
I enjoyed my breakfast over there. Fresh and tasty bread, croissant, and gateaux. Staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.
A very beautiful place in middle of the city. Marvellous looking view through the street while having your early coffee and breakfast. Place has got quiet a good collection of pastries, breads and breakfast.
Unpretentious bakery and café in Quebec City. You can't go wrong with their macaroons, croissants, and a café au lait. They even have a gelato bar now. We always stop by while in QC. A star off though from my original review since upkeep has not kept up, floors are usually dirty and has tissue and other garbage without the staff cleaning it up periodically. The washrooms are also upstairs and it's not a few steps up but a good 30 steps up. Not the most accessible of washrooms. They also close their doors an hour early before their posted time to start cleaning. Begs the question, why dont you just change your hours to avoid confusion. Hope they improve these things to avoid tarnishing their good baked goods.
Great spot for pastries in Vieux Quebec. The pastry display is amazing!
Popular location for delicious French pastries. Long line up during busy hours. Clean and comfy seating area inside the restaurant.
All the pastries were delicious, the ham and cheese croissant sandwich was gone in an instant, the croissant was buttery and flaky. The dining area was spacious and there's a choice to eat outside too. Would have gone back for more sandwiches but the line to order at that time was getting long. Definitely recommend ! 5 stars!
Always go to when in Quebec City. Best croissants in Canada after Paris France. Sandwiches are good as well.
Love this bakery/cafe! The variety of pastries is stunning, the bread outstanding, the cafe options more limited but very tasty, the hot chocolate excellent! Don't be put off by the long line at the pastry counter, it moves rapidly. Decorated beautifully for Christmas!
Came here for lunch and it was great. Service was okay but the vibe and selection is fantastic. Definitely recommend visiting at least once!
Food is very good, I love my salmon sandwich and tatre au citron, but the line is huge and pretty slow, I'm not sure if it worth it
Best croissant I've ever tasted!
A friend recommended this place so we came to check out their croissant matin that they are famous for. I ordered one with bacon and wow! The croissant was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside (because of the bacon grease and …
A must visit when we’re in Quebec City! The pastries and meals made to order are like chicken soup for the soul. …
delicious food, great embiance, helpful staff. nice Xmas tree.
Saw the fly touch the breads and felt sick. My croissant looked very different than the picture that was on the menu. It was very oily and soggy, and there was no crunch. I honestly thought that the croissants I bought from Costco tasted better.
Great atmosphere and the food was excellent. It was busy inside but their employees are very efficient and quite respectful. Definitely deserving of 5 stars. Would come back for sure
Great place for pastries. I don't like how the tables are displayed with covid 19, tables are too close with each other. Beautiful decor. Food is good.
I had gotten out early to avoid crowds with Old Quebec, however in need of a coffee. I had searched for a boulangerie nearby and was delighted to see Paillard was open from 0700h. It was not busy at all and the members greeted me with kind eyes behind their facemasks, also speaking French & English. I had picked up the breakfast combination that came with a ham croissant, café of choice and side fruit salad along with a chocolate almond croissant. I can say I'm not a "sweets" person but these buttery croissants blew me away. While I was finishing my croissant outside on the their street terrace, I heard someone say while walking by that these were the best croissants in Quebec. I would not doubt it!
Tried their most famous cheese ham croissant which was very good. The vegetable sandwich and soup was also nice. Macrons were too sweet so avoidable
Came here for breakfast while visiting. Luckily missed the line by a few minutes. All I can say is WOW! From the cappuccino to the hot chocolate to the chocolatine to the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. Seriously, had such a hard time deciding what to get. Can’t wait to come back!
We came here years ago, and on our recent trip to Quebec City we were pleased to discover that the quality is still the same. Amazing sandwiches on baguettes that are almost as good as the ones you will get in France. They also have fantastic pastries. Unfortunately the communal tables aren't bustling the way they did pre-COVID, but that's to be expected. Still worth it for the food.
This is a great place for desserts and coffee. They have a great selection of breads as well and they make sandwiches. We went late at night almost before closing, so it was pretty empty but it looks like it can get busy during certain times. It is very spacious and the have tables to eat inside. Friendly staff and they have a really good hot chocolate!
L.O.V.E this place. Amazing croissants and chocolatine - they crackled! Excellent cappuccino. Loved the communal style long bench table. Toilets - need to climb a few flight of stairs to get to the toilets.
The pastries were good as well as the lunch sandwiches. However, the lady at the cash and those preparing the sandwiches didn't seem like they wanted to be there (no smiles, get your food and move on attitude). Really too bad as everything else was quite unique.
The croissant is good, however the service is awful. Coffee is just regular cheap drip kind for the price of real french coffee. Don't waste your money here, you will not enjoy it. Walk down a few doors to a small boulangerie that actually smells great.
Chocolate croissant taste nice, fresh crunchy and chewy. Coffee is okay. Good stop for snack and toilet.
Best sandwiches in town. A must go cafe in you are in the city. There soup, salad, sandwiches are truly amazing.
Lots of choices but very busy. Flow poorly laid out. Hard to see what they have available and order without holding up the line. Pastries were ok - a little dry. But taste was good
Woke up too early because we were jetlagged and found this place open at 7 am. Amazing pastries and breakfast. Go if you want some simple but perfect breakfast.
Great sandwiches and chocolate croissants. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely coming back here again.
Absolutely fantastic pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Cosy Christmas vibes and a comfortable spot for an amazing breakfast.
The best croissant in Quebec! Great coffee, great pastries and fast service! If you get their meal special the price is decent. However if you were as hungry as I was, it can get pricey. I had a sandwich, a soup, a croissant and a cappuccino and it came up to $27 with tax. But it was worth it. ???? This is my go to place in Quebec City.
Great for bread/pastry lovers for a nice and relaxing breakfast/ lunch. Food tasted fine, service was quick, the only downside would be the bread being served was not reheated upon receiving. The bread alongside with the combo meals can be cold and soggy...
Very nice place and so many pastries to choose from. People were very friendly and the food was good. The chocolate scone like pastry was just a little dense but the strawberry beignet was good. Definitely recommend.
The best almond croissant and cinnamon roll. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Quebec City. We tried other stuff too and everything was amazing.
Very delicious croissants. Will visit again when I next in town. Crossaints are very crispy and buttery.. can definitely compare with those I ate in France.
Pastries are good, and macarons are delicious as well. I came here for breakfast and got the special of the day, which includes soup, half a sandwich, a drink, and a macaron. Came back for dinner and got a smoked meat sandwich, which was …
Good selection of bread & pastry. Not too sweet for sweet pastry. Hot breakfast is also available. Reasonable price, busy place.
Excellent bakery! Delicious pastries, perfect crossoints!
My family loved everything about eating here except for the enormous amount of time we spent in line. To be fair, they were short staffed with hiring ads visible. We felt it was worth the 30 minute wait. Food was tasty, especially the macarons.
Can't say enough good things about this place. It was the only place we repeated visits to during our trip because it was SO good. We had the ham and brie sandwich (warmed up) and it was amazing. Everything is so fresh, cute atmosphere if you choose to stay and the staff are super friendly.
Budget friendly store. Big serving for a decent price. One server has a little bit of an attitude but it maybe because of the store being busy. I omitted one star because it's not a go to shop for a quebec style delicacy.
Went there yesterday ordered a spinach sandwich, pastry and cappuccino. Loved every bit of it. Not only the food was delicious but the staff was very friendly too. We don't know french but they were kind enough to take time and understand our order. I loved the place so much that i visited this place again and tried their vegetable sandwich. Quebec city is amazing and when you find great place to eat you love it even more. P.S the window place is amazing to enjoy your food with a view. Full stars from me ????
Had the combo matin. The croissant was nice and crispy along with the melted cheese was delicious. Also had a Dulce de Leche turnover which was also good.
We really enjoyed this place! We originally had it in our itinerary for 1 morning but ended up going 3 times during our week long trip in Quebec City! Their croissants are so delicious and fluffy. I’m not a coffee or tea drinker so I got …
Spectacular, high-quality, busy at all times. I highly recommend it.
One of the first place I heard while visiting Quebec City was to visit this eatery on rue Jean Street. I had my breakfast here and they serve some real quick sandwiches , croissants and their home made chocolate croissant ( one shown in the picture ) I had a good experience in their service and their pricing is very economical and worth the price Definately try their chocolate croissant and sandwich is a must try. Overall 5/5
Great bakery with an assortment of pastries. I had a chocolate almond croissant which was delicious! It has a cute family and cafe style seating area
Very busy with minimal staff. They said they didn't speak any English so we muddled through to order our croissants and coffee. Felt very uncomfortable as they seemed irritated we didn't speak french. We would have ordered a ton of baked goods but didn't feel comfortable asking questions. The croissants were absolutely delicious though. Would have loved to try more.
It's a Cafe style atmosphere. Great food and Bakery. Cakes, baked good are amazing and they are reasonably priced certainly worth a visit ????
Beautiful cafe with lots of seating inside. We tried the almond croissant and hot croissant sandwiches and everything was amazing. A must-stop for breakfast in Quebec City.
Best place for breakfast! They serve croissants, bagels, sandwiches, salads, soups and wide variety of desserts!
Beautiful exterior and interior, with variety of good pastries. They offer Nespresso drinks. The staffs were friendly. …
Got some type of an almond pastry and an olive bread and it was pretty good. The staff on the other hand need more training. The lady checking us out did not understand a single word of English and the non French speaking customers in front of us also had trouble trying to get her to understand the order. They also ask for a tip during payment which is weird since this is a self serving establishment.
Good points: big bakery with plugs to charge your phone which is helpful for tourists. Lots of pastries are available to choose from. Coffee is nice. Areas of improvement: Poor customer service. The lady that served me the first time (dark brown/ slightly red hair) ignored me when I went to order another coffee and served the customer behind me instead. She did not smile/ seem friendly the first time she served me. The cafe must be understaffed as no one cleaned the dining area so the tables are dirty. Food is okay but nothing special -the macarons were not made well. As a tourist, I would try another bakery in Quebec City.
Such a great bakery. Staff is really friendly and the selection is huge. The products are a bit more on the pricey side. Sandwiches are great, especially rosemary ham and roast beef. The fougasses were amazing. We had bacon&cheddar and brie, walnuts and cranberries. The apple turnover was really good and also the croissant.
My go to place when I visit Quebec City. The best baked goods by far. Croissants, pastries and baguettes are freshly baked all day long and are excellent. Excellent coffee to go along with the food.
One of the best croissant you will ever try. This place in the middle of old QC, I originally had reservation going there, thinking that it might be one of those tourist trap but it definitely was not the case. The croissant is super flaky …
This is the next level bakery! Perfect place to stop for a breakfast ????????????
Amazing croissants and pastries. This is not a place to miss during a trip to Québec City. If I lived there I would definitely stop in for breakfast or lunch as often as possible!
The croissant was delicious but some waitresses doesn’t understand English. I wanted one sandwich and paid for it, but when picking it up the waitress says I need to pay again. So I paid twice and got two sandwiches. It was very confusing and I think it’s better to speak with younger waitresses that speaks English so they got the order right.
Delicious!!! So great !! So many options.Customer service is outstanding and they are happy to speak English...my French isnt so good ..tee hee . This is a big bakery with lots of tables. The croissants are soooo good ! Just go now .
I really enjoy their sandwiches, their bread is very yummy, croissants are good too. It's always really busy but they do as good a job as expected so that people don't have to wait too long.
This is a popular bakery/cafe within the gates of Old Town. The baked goods are very nice and service is great (service in Quebec City is very good in general). I took a star off for mediocre coffee. I took another off for 10 min wait in line to order given how busy it was. The place is large enough and could have had multiple servers to speed up the wait. For those going early and only ordering baked goods five stars would be more appropriate.
Croissants are sooo delicious, great selection, lots of pastries. For Croissants lovers definitely worth a visit. The pistachio macaroons had a lack of flavor and were very sugary, I wouldn't recommend. But for the croissants I'll be back for sure!!!
For breakfast can't do scrambled eggs??? Only one type of bread and coffee wasn't too hot, but the rest wasn't too bad that is why only a 3 start. Other couple got up and left as well. We were there several months ago and there dinner was good at that time.
