Cats. Coffee. Cosy. What's not to like!? Friendly staff, good food, excellently made coffee (trust me I'm a barista) and 9 cats!!! Very close to the train and bus station. Good refueling stop before continuing travels and exploration :)
Verry beautiful place to visit! Friendly and calm! A good place to enjoy a good moment to relax would come back again!
This was one discovery of our Quebec City trip we'd love to come back to. Loved the place. We had reached Gare du Palais a bit early and so had some time to explore around. Firstly, the good concept of taking your shoes off before entering the cafe. There are many seating options available - from regular tables and chairs to sit on the floor. But the one thing that you cannot not notice is beautiful small kitties. Definitely a stress buster, if any. We tried their Chai Latte and Cappuccino - both good. I won't say I'm a fan of their drinks but definitely worth a visit once for the ambiance and the experience.
I am just sitting in this coffee and I am so pissed off .. the cats are beautiful and the place is nice to but the food is really not good for the price ... I asked for old cheddar cheese grilled and the girl came with my grilled cheese which doesn't look anything close to grilled cheese was toasted with just one slice of cheese which is cut in half and u can see cheese just in the middle and the grilled cheese is not even big... empty grilled cheese which cost me 10$ serously? so going just for coffee is ok but food never . and the waitress was kind of rude when i went and told her that the cheese is not even melted and it doesn't look like grilled cheese. she took it and said ok i will warm it for you.
Very nice place! Clean and cozy. Well decorated for the cats (and humans)! Service is a little slow, but the staff is friendly and polite. The cats are lovely! It is a nice place to go to to relax and eat for an hour or two! I would suggest to reserve if possible as the café is on the small side. Some seats are at tables and some are on couches or on the floor. The food is very good; I had a delicious, fresh sandwich. :) ????
amazing place, very good place to relax unless there are kids around but I would definitely come back ✨ the cats are all so sweet ❤️❤️❤️
Went here on my trip to quebec. Cats are awesome and friendly. Food was really good. Staff was very welcoming and nice.
If you love cats then this the place for you. Great service, great food, fascinating cats
Sadly I took my kids to this place for their first cat cafe experience. Wow! First off service... (if you want to call it that) the lady that was there was short with us the whole time, very rude. She sat us at a table we had to sit on the floor. One of our party was not able to sit on the floor so we moved and that apparently was upsetting to her so the service got even worse... long story short... we made a donation for the cats and left... she even rudely accepted my donation...lol!
An extremely cozy and comfortable place to hang out. The service was quite good despite the fact that it was busy, and the treats we ordered were delicious. As for the cats themselves, they are simply adorable and fun to play with!
If you're a cat lover, that's definitely a place you'll want to go !
My wife said this was the happiest place on earth 5 times! Good food, and a memorable experience!
Great place if you like cats and aren't allergic to them. Good coffee and hot chocolate too.
Best cafe ever
Love it! Go there if you love cats! The atmosphere is super relax and we could see that the cats were well taken care of. I definitely recommend going!
I have mixed feelings about this cat café. It was my first time visiting one, and overall I think the place has a lot of personality and potential. Their cause is also very admirable, they bring awareness to veterans' experiences and mental health. I'll start out by saying what I think is the most important aspect of this review, and the reason why this rating is so low. All the cats are declawed and purebred, and bought from petstores as opposed to adopted from shelters. The latter is actually something that the owners pride themselves on, as seen through some of their replies to reviews here. There is one single cat that comes from a shelter, but she is actually quite aggressive and vocal about not wanting to be touched, as she has been abused in the past. Definitely not the best cat to have in a cat café, both for the cat's sake and for the clients'. Other than that, the menu was similar to other cafes in Quebec, prices were on the higher end but that is to be expected from a small business and didn't phase us too much. There are non-dairy milk options, and food items can be customized for particular diets. Just let them know in advance. The drinks and food weren't anything out of the ordinary, I'd say about average. The place was clean, there weren't too many people and the cats were sweet. We only found out towards the end that the cats were declawed, had we found out earlier we probably would not have stayed too long. We will not be returning for this reason. I do believe that the owners have good intentions at heart, but I think that, as someone else has mentioned in the reviews, this is more of a café with cats rather than a cat café.
This is the best cat café I have ever visited. The cats are super cute and friendly. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.
So much fun....we had a wonderful time ... so relaxing
Pros: - The place is cozy - Food is quiet tasty - Social aspect of the business - Cat do not seem distressed, as they have escape routes to rest from humain cuddles (Shelves under the ceiling). Cons (Only for animal cause enthousiastes): - All cats are declawed. The reps commented few months ago that it was done for insurance purposes and it was done with laser (presumably a better option than traditional declawing). I leave it up to you to decide whether you accept this fact or not, but personally if I knew that in advance, I wouldn’t go there just because of that. - Cats are very pretty and pure bread or pure breads mixes (funny concept right?). I would personally feel more comfortable if the cats were rescues ones (random no breed cats) or at least rescued older animals/former kitten mills. But those ones looked young and purposely selected. Again, that’s my humble opinion.
Very nice place where you can have a hot (or cold) drink with a quick bite. The cats roam around free. The café was started by two veterans with a part of the profit going towards a good cause. Seen sole people just working from there with their laptops. Very relaxing and beautiful cats!
Very lovely place for cat lovers. Cute and friendly cats and they seem well taken care of. Each guest is required to order one item lff the menu (drinks will suffice). No additional costs to see the cats. Clean environment.
Well... Coffee ain't excellent there, I just came in because of the cats, but prices are ridiculously expensive.
Meal type
We had the most enjoyable time at this cat cafe! The resident cats are all very friendly and were eager to play. I can't remember what the drinks were like but, really, we weren't there for the drinks anyways!
Its cats in a café. Of course its 5 stars. Its also a lovely atmosphere with somber music and interesting decor (made to suit the cats' movement around the walls and ceiling
Cozy little cafe with plenty of cats roaming about to brighten your day. The coffee was great and made for a relaxing and wonderful experience
Cat fix for the weary traveller. Ideal location to test drive kitties of all makes and models. Not your average kitty but prime and pristine models of kittydom, all low mileage and ready to sooth the weary Traveller. The sphynx kitty is an unexpected delight of kitty nirvana. The humans that serve them are pretty cool as well.
Its easy to feel at home and relax with that amazing crew of cats. Those cats love to be petted and will purr in your arms minutes after meeting them for the first time. The owners have obviously chosen those cats for the cuddling superskills.
The food is above average and the hot drinks (coffee tea and such) are good, the thing that make this place truly stands out is the services and entertainment, there's cats roaming around so you can pet any of em, the service is good and there's many board game
Friendly environment with lovely cats???? would definitely go back!
Friendliest staff and cats! Doing an amazing job making a difference in the world. Must visit!!!
Cute cats, nice music and great food/drinks!
The place is not bad but is too stressful to be there. The workers tell you all the time “please don’t touch the cats” in a rude way ,so basically the cats are used to bring clients . I don’t think cats are treat as pets . Again is for human convenience . And that is sad and. Cruel to keep it there . If we try to touch them is not because we try to bother them . Is just socialized with them .
Wow! We stopped by today just before boarding the train and it was worth it! The cats and humans are both very courteous here. I had a vegan hot chocolate and it was really refreshing for the long journey ahead.
This is so amazing and heartbreaking place. My family did not want to leave.
I love this place. I've been every time I go to Quebec City to visit family.
Overpriced, but the cats are cute. But it's overpriced. So overpriced...
Beautiful! The cat's are so calm and the employes mind their bussines. I will definitely go back!
As a veterinarian, I was overwhelmingly impressed. The cats are kept in safe and pampered manner. The environment is enriched far beyond the absolute needs of the cats. The cats may be declawed but they all had normal gaits (I think I watched 13 walk). (None of the paws I palpated were sensitive) And the only pretensions involved with the breed variety are of the judgemental people mentioning it in their reviews! By the way, great café as well!
Well... Coffee ain't excellent there, I just came in because of the cats, but prices are ridiculously expensive.
Was planning to come here on vacation to see some furry friends. But, when I arrived, I was greeted by loads of children and only a few cats. 2 people were running the place and the food looked marginal. I wasn't pleasantly surprised. The cats that were awake, didn't seem to care and the kids huddled around them. I only got to pet one Kitty before leaving the Cafe (that was as hot as hell). I wouldn't recommend this place because it's too small, few cats, and very busy. Save your time and money!!!
5-6 cats sitting all in the same spot. As expected there's always some client who stay there forever... not much to see other than over priced tea and coffee.
Good kombucha and good lemonade!
Super friendly staff, great food, cute cats.
Unique experience. I would highly recommend. Note the rules for first time visitors to respect the home of the cats. All patrons must buy at least one item to support the shop.
Other
This is an amazing and cute place, definitely recommend it. The only reason I am giving it four stars is that it’s very expensive. But if you have the money this is a very nice place to eat.
Overall, a unique experience. While prices on food are a little on the high side, it isn't any worse than a Starbucks and helps to care for the cats. I had a mocha and chocolate lava cake which was AMAZING. The cats are often a little shy, especially when the cafe is busy and there are so many people looking to pet them. Don't expect to sit with a cat the whole time, you may just get a few quick pets. However, the ambiance is relaxing, the service was great, and it was an extremely memorable experience.
Lots cats and a dog :) super friendly owners
Fun little quiet place to go to. The cats are adorable and well mannered , the staff are friendly and as long as you adhere to the rules (obvious ones like don't scare the cats), you'll have a wonderful relaxing time.
Really cosy, the cats don't seem to kind the attention. Only vegan option is a fruit salad that was super fresh, wish there were more.
Place is held by veterans, very pleasant and cozy ambiance ???? Definetly a come back place
This place is amazing! The people and the cats are very nice! We got there close to the closing time but feel very welcome! This place feels like home and cats are very chill too! I’m so happy to have this experience with cats! Definitely coming back!
Service
What a nice place to encounter! Lovely cats & delicious caffee. The cat cafe is a complete cat and cat lover heaven.
Cute and cozy! More cats than we first realized, different breeds too. Food was surprisingly good! I had cream of tomato soup and a tuna sandwich.
Great experience with beautiful cats!!! But also worse (red hair) waitress service in Québec in the last 10 years in Quebec City.. Cold, unpolite and rude all together and not just we us as other clients were shocked..
Such a welcoming and cosy atmosphere, lots of fluffy cats ????
Such a cute cafe! The staff is so nice and they care so much about everyone's well-being. The cats are well taken care of, they're calm, friendly, and they have a lot of places to hide if they need a break from interaction. The ambiance is really cozy and relaxing. I've been there a couple of times and I always feel so emotionnal (in a good way!). Of course the prices are a bit high, but it's still very affordable. Plus, I think it's fair, considering the money it takes to take care of 14 cats, + the funds that go to the organizations that the shop supports, such as organizations for our veterans. You make the world a better place. ♡
Service was a bit slow because there's only one employee. Original and nice concept, but it's hard to actually interact with cats. Still a good experience.
Amazing place. Must see!
Stopped in for a hot Chocolate and a tea. This place is well worth the visit. Service is wonderful, polite and friendly. The cats are fascinating. Decor is very nice. Extremely clean. Its own & run by two veterans who wanted to create a relax atmosphere for a person who needs a break from their stressful life. It’s purpose is to help support & bring attention to mental illness that is caused from & by your stressful work environment.
Absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. Friendly multilingual staff, cozy clean atmosphere, delicious vegetarian-friendly food and adorable cats to hang out and play with. More about the food- after eating out at various places around Quebec City, we really appreciated the lighter fare offered at this cafe, which is more of a cozy living room than a restaurant. There are board games to play as well, which makes it even more amazing! Just a heads up: Upon arriving, you will be asked to remove your shoes and wash your hands before touching the cats, but they do offer slippers if you need them. Overall, an amazing place to chill out and enjoy an afternoon. 5/5
This Cafe was very lovely. It's across from the train station and is warm and welcoming. They have slippers for your use as you need to take your shoes off. The coffee is good and the food looked amazing (we went just for a coffee before catching the train.) I like that it is run by Veterans and they use some of the proceeds to support the veteran's fund. The cats are so lovely ???? I would definitely go again!
This is hands down the best cat cafe I have been to. The staff is super friendly and passionate, the food is great and cheap and the restaurant decor is a great cat parkour track. The cats are super friendly and all have their unique personalities. Jazz music softly calms the customers and the cats as everybody relaxes.
Great tea and hot chocolate. Very cool atmosphere and great to see all the furry friends. Would be great to take a special someone for a quick bite or drink
Good food. Nice people. Friendly chats
Lovely cozy little cafe with lots of little cat knick knacks around the place. The cats are all charming and gentle, and the food is both rather affordable, delicious and have a wonderful presentation!
Cat-tastic! Nice little place with cafe type food. Food was ok, nothing special. Cat's had to be enticed to come to us. There are only 7 of them so we didn't get them very much.:-(
Cats are so cute and some of the younger ones were really active to visitors which made the visit so much fun. Love the place and cats!
What a great spot! Great service and coffee and adorable friendly cats! Wi-Fi is strong at 1000mbps which is VERY refreshing. A great way to wind down your weekend getaway in Quebec City. A+
Amazing place and everything is delicious. Sam is the boss!
Lots of adorable cats, good prices and amazing coffee!!!
We just had drinks (several kombucha flavors and decaf coffee/espresso available) but there is also food (soup, sandwiches, desserts). The kitties are adorable and the staff is great. Stop in!
Wonderfully place to relax and pet cats, and there is a little dog...
Great food at a decent price..All for a real cause. Helping solders and vets get on with life after. Owners super cool. 13 cats a a dog make up the show. Atmosphere very cool and laid back. Must not be allergic to cats an dogs. Food healthy and simple.
Very relaxing environment and cute cats. Very nice menu. Great place for lunch
A very cozy place with lots of friendly cats. Very cat friendly with the rafters and cushions everywhere (don't bring your own cat!) It is a little small, could use a better entrance, but if you go in the summer when it's not busy, it's a lot better.
The cats are very friendly. Fair amount of options to eat and drink. Price is just a little bit high.
Neat idea and may be good sometimes. The cats are beautiful and well cared for, but the coffee and food is just way too expensive and slow. My $5.50 drink was probably about 3.5 ounces big and the $5.50 cent banana bread was very small (part of piece looked like it was missing). Ended up being $60 for two tiny coffee drinks, a small sandwich, and a small banana bread. Took about two hours between getting there and paying bill. Asked for water to drink and never got it. Asked for milk for coffee and that never came either. Cute idea, but they need more help and more creativity for the food they serve if going to want premium prices. Just not worth it.
Very cozy place to relax and pet cats. The cats are beautiful and the design of the cafe is design for cats to jump up and interact with customers. Coffee is also great and the java cake was amazing highly recommend!
Not for a quick bite to eat or those watching their wallet. Too much $ for too little service. You have to remove your shoes and walk sock footed. Not my kind of food. Too sophisticated for me. Cats tend to sleep way up in their loft beds. Oh yeah, it was hotter than heck. Couldn't wait to leave and get some fresh air. Service was so slow I thought we were going to miss out train even though we walked in with an hour and a half before departure.
I was pretty disappointed by my experience at this place. Firstly, all the cats are declawed. As a business which claims to help cats, I feel this sends a bad message. I think when you have a cat in your private home you’re entitled to your own opinions and choices but if you’re in the public eye and operating a business specifically tailored to helping the well-being of cats, this doesn’t set a good example. Furniture and the convenience of human-beings doesn’t warrant cat mutilation, no matter how you try to sugar coat it. I would appreciate you integrating some cats with claws into your business to diversify it a bit more. I feel your business has a lot of potential but this is pretty controversial. Also, maybe a good idea to not just have pedigree cats as it’s a bit pretentious. All cats are special, even moggies! Thanks, hope this is helpful and not seen as critical.
Amazing place to go if you love cats, you can tell the people really love and take good care of the cats and the food is great too, wonderful place to go relax and get away from the cold.
Favorite place to spend an afternoon
Made me remove my shoes just to walk to the counter to buy a take-away coffee, although I had 2 heavy bags on my back. And the chai latte I got was terrible. Should have just spent 2 dollars at Tim Hortons for a much better coffee!
Very Nice place to eat if you like cats
Cute and quiet cats. This cafe has a lot of ‘high ends’ cats here. As pictures show, this place is well accommodated for cats.
Very nice place. Plenty of cats around but they were not very active at the moment we were there. The prices are fair, especially because it helps to maintain the animals, but I would be willing to pay a little more for the dishes to be larger. Coffee is good. Place is a little messy, and I don't think it's because of the cats.
Awesome. Cute Cats, Cafe, What more can I say?
We live over the cafe, and the experience is amazing. Cozy place, awesome sociable veteran owners and the food is ????.
Cats are so cute and some of the younger ones were really active to visitors which made the visit so much fun. Love the place and cats!
Very cute and unique cats. The owner was so nice. I really enjoyed my time there.
Accidentally found a warm place with cute cats ???????? really lovely atmosphere
A bit on the pricey side, but the food is delicious. Their cats are absolutely adorable. I just wish they did it for a good cause as well; most cat cafés operate in collaboration with local refuges to temporarily bring in cats that are up for adoption.
