To preface, I believe in providing people the opportunity to make things right. Consider this a cautionary tale: Facts: NOV 9: Having purchased a Saeco Lirika machine in 2020, I emailed Jean Pappillon of Café Liégeois to see if they had the same machine / promo as I was looking for a Christmas gift for my mother. His response was, “I can but I only have one open box.” I asked about the condition, signs of visible wear and the status of the warranty, to which he replied, “No damage. Still full warranty.” He also added that they would add free coffee to the box. NOV 10: I agreed, asked for an invoice and I inquired once again, “Does ‘reconditioned’ mean it’s been owned previously / had a defect, or is it just an open box?” Jean replied, “No, its a demo. Don’t worry.” To confirm once again, I stated, “As long as there are no signs of wear, i.e. scratches on the stainless, etc. as it’s a Christmas gift, the last thing I want is for it to look used (if even slightly). Please inspect and let me know at your convenience.” Jean’s response: “It’s like a new one. No problem with the machine. Thanks.” Reassured, I paid the invoice. NOV 19: The machine arrived; On top of the packaging being sub-par, and the machine completely exposed, there were significant scratches on the front plastic cover, coffee stains on the stainless grate, coffee grinds and dirt all over the inside of the box, and the free coffee beans were not included. NOV 21: I wrote Jean to share photos of the machine, re-state his previous assurances, and request a refund. NOV 22: Jean replied, “I will return the machine. My colleague didn’t send the right machine” Interestingly, this contradicts his earlier email stating, “I can but I only have one open box.” From this point, communication was slow and I had to constantly initiate communication as far as the return shipping label, and status of the refund to be issues. NOV 24: I returned the machine via Purolator, provided tracking info to Jean and asked for proof of the refund being issued to me via email. Jean replied that it would take 15 days for the refund to go through. Upon inquiring as to why this would take so long, he indicated that they wouldn’t initiate the refund until the machine arrived and was inspected. He further stated: We have sent a refund through our payment provider, Shopify Payments. However, in order for thay refund to be processed through your payment provider and bank, it can take up to 15 days to appear on your credit card statetement. Refunds through paypal or interact transfers happen right away, …” Reading up on the Shopfiy website, it states: “The detailed transaction history for the order is displayed in the Timeline section of an order's overview page and includes returns, refunds, and restocking information.” Additionally, “A refund takes up to 10 business days to be credited back to your customer.” Ten days, versus 15 -AND- the transaction record would clearly show the refund process being in initiated in real-time. For peace of mind, I requested proof of the refund process having been commenced. The wait-time for the funds to appear was really a non-issue provided I had proof of the return. All further follow-up requests for proof of refund were ignored. NOV 25: Having paid via PayPal, I submitted a case history of the transaction details to-date. DEC 1: Still no refund or proof of refund being initiated. Having paid via PayPal, I did have some recourse. On December 1, I initiated a dispute through the PayPal resolution form and PayPal’s attempts to resolve the issue, directly, were also ignored. DEC 11: PayPal decided in my favour and provided a full refund for the machine. It is my opinion that this company is more concerned about a short-sighted transaction than a long-term customer relationship. While Jean did apologize at one point for the mistake, his actions did not in any way reflect an approach to make things right or to preserve customer loyalty.

Cela fait 3 mois que nous avons commandé notre machine specialista et toujours rien reçu. Difficile d’avoir une réponse claire, ou d’avoir une réponse tout court de leur part. Les influenceurs d’Instagram reçoivent pourtant leur machine rapido !????? Nous avons finalement annulé notre commande, et l’avons trouvé ailleurs. Aucune question, explication ou excuse de leur part ! J’espère que nous aurons notre remboursement plus rapidement que la machine ;)
