I ordered a light roast which wasn't very flavourful probably because it wasn't very hot - warm at best - which likely affected the flavour. I ordered the tuna melt, and wasn't too impressed with it. The lettuce - which is melted into the 'melt' was (obviously) wilted and unappetizing. For $9, the sandwich was grossly overpriced for the size and taste. No pickles, no salad, just a sandwich that was as thick as a deck of cards and just slightly bigger.

First time here and so glad it was opened to try! Very tasty smoked salmon bagel, with a nice medium roast to start the day. I would like to try more of the menu for my next visit. Interior is really nice and comfy looking but I opted to enjoy the outdoors today.

The perfect cafe. Delicious house coffee, and they make the specialty coffees so precisely. A must visit. Go in, sit, and just look around. There's so much art to see. Every chair is different, every mug is different. It makes you feel at home. Very good chili and an outstanding broccoli cheddar soup! The employees are very kind. Owner is quite a piece of work. Asked for a London fog - tea latte with steamed milk. I watched her make it and I expect more than a 1/2 inch of steamed milk in any latte. I nicely expressed my disappointment and asked for more milk. Owner Ignored me and walked away. Clearly ill go to smile tiger and get a better product. Thanks for ruining my lunch.

On a business trip to Kitchener for the first time and happened about this cute cafe. It was decorated in a really unique way with a lot of varied decor that made the spot feel very cozy. Superb Coffee! Really fresh and aromatic! I came to Kitchener for a quick visit and looked this place up on google, and surely weren't disappointed. Been buying my coffee beans from this place for years. Had to update my review to a full five stars because they stay open an hour later now and it's much easier for me to get in for my fix. They've also been amazing throughout the pandemic with local bean delivery when shops had to be closed. They've earned my ongoing patronage and I often recommend them to fellow coffee enthusiasts looking for fair trade beans that are freshly roasted.

Reasonable experience at Cafe O. Americano was ok, not great. Wifi barely worked, I had to leave and find somewhere else to do my 30 mins if work. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but would pop in again if I was in the neighborhood.

The baked goods were fresh French and excellent. We got the raspberry short bread cookie, a goat cheese scone and a tea. The highlight for me was the scone. If you like goat cheese I can't recommend it enough. The exterior had a firm crunch and the inside is soft moist layers of flavourful bread, flavours were balanced beautifully!

Shockingly terrible service from a very rude owner. Here's what happened. I went to Cafe O for a morning coffee. I requested 3 soy milks in it. The order was rung up, I paid. The owner left very little room for milk, then poured a dribble of what was left in the soy carton. I politely asked that she pour some out of the cup to allow for more milk as the coffee was still very dark. She then went off on me, saying she would charge me again for the milk (which she could've mentioned when I first ordered 3 soys), she then thrust the receipt at me with a "how about you start paying my rent, then! Do you want to pay that so I can I pay for soy milk? You can go to Tim Hortons". Wow. If a few tablespoons of soy milk will throw her business over the edge, they're clearly not doing well. Why did she offer soy milk in the first place if she'd have a tantrum over it? I have a dairy allergy, I don't order soy by choice. If her business is struggling, I'd venture a guess it's from her rude behaviour, lack of customer service and aggressive nature... NOT the soy milk orders. I should've listened to my friend who advised me to skip this place on account of the terrible service. I'll never go back, and I'd recommend you skip it, too.

My first impression of this cafe was quite nice. The atomosphere was appealing as it felt very warm and cozy. However, sadly that impression quickly changed when one of the workers came over and demanded that my 3 year old son not put his shoes on the chair as it's very "nice and expensive". Prior to her saying this I noticed there was a pink coloured stain already there. Not to mention his shoes didn't actually touch the fabric but I wasn't about to get in a silly arguement over that. My kid was also very well behaved and was excited to have a bagel on an outing with mommy. I'm sorry but if you don't want everyday people to use the furniture because it's too "expensive and nice" then you should probably put a sign on the window saying "no children welcome". I was uncomfortable after this as I felt I couldn't allow my son to enjoy his bagel as god forbid some cream cheese may touch the furniture. Furniture can always be cleaned no matter the price tag and a restaurant is in no place to discrimnate my parenting or my kid. I will NOT be a returning costumer!!! I will be sure to tell friends and family of my experience as well.

My wife and I go there very often. I love their breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is fantastic! The owners are amazing people. They make sure you're comfortable. Usually, they play good music on the speakers, not too loud. I even forgot my gloves there and they were nice enough to put them away safe until our next visit there. I strongly recommend this coffee shop to all coffee lovers. I have only one complaint!! You should make more of those cheese twists. I always end up coming there after they're all gone :( Those things are the best!

Staff need a bell at the counter so when you stand there for 5 minutes they know someone is waiting to order. Could also use bigger community table to encourage working there or holding meetings with computers when it's busy in the cafe.

I was on the hunt for a smoked salmon bagel and nearly gave up looking when I came across Cafe O. I'm so glad I stopped by. I called on short notice and they were able to fulfill it within 10 minutes. Friendly staff. Neat store. The bagel was great! I will have to come back another day to try the coffee.

First time customer. This place is a 4 dressed up as an 8. Cashier is chomping on her lunch as she talks and takes my order - unsavoury. Other employee is hovering staring at me including while I was eating. Did they buy these mismatched mugs at Value Village??? Coffee is good, food is average, and service a little uncomfortable. Place needs a reboot as would be nice to have some competition for Starbucks and Coffee Cultures. No rush to go back.

I stopped by, drawn by the chicken, goat's cheese and roasted red pepper sandwich on the online menu. The server was very friendly, and, when I asked her to help me cut through my coffee order confusion, was amazing at it. She chose the rye bread, and I think it's a caramel latte. Both were wonderful, and I will return again.

Once again I am disappointed in this place. It's been about a year since my last visit, which was also terrible. I went in to get a coffee and I believe it to be over priced (like most places in the area) but for the service it is not worth the price. I asked if they have dairy free options for my coffee and they said they would have to charge me EXTRA! to put a splash of soy milk in my coffee! I have never been charged like this before and I will never be returning. I should not have to pay extra because I don't drink dairy. I will not recommend this place to anyone and 100% will not give them my business.

Located in a nice looking plaza along Victoria Road. Nice comfortable, attractive decor. Specialty coffee, sweets and light meals, mostly sandwiches. Americano was quite nice -robust. Service is OK. Not friendly, but efficient. Cash or debit for sales under $15.Not sure if they actually roast their own beans (yet). I read an article that they were planning to roast in the future, but not sure if it's happening yet. Either way, above-average coffee in Waterloo Region.
