At present this business has a rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 and this rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is virtually the best one, and it is based on a high number of reviews, so we can say that the evaluation is very credible. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Coffee Shop corresponds to the category of Australian restaurant.
THE AVOCADO TOAST! So, I've been twice now and the avocado toast is absolutely unreal. Ask for it vegan. The coffee and specialty coffee drinks are so delicious. Great decor, super adorable place. Would be great for a breakfast date.
lovely staff, beautiful space, and by far the best coffee in downtown kingston! the side patio is very cute and dog friendly. everything i have eaten here has been phenomenal, not a single bad thing to say.
Really good coffee and amazing interior at this restaurant. My gripe with this place is that prices are very high for what you get. Food is decent but portions are small.
I had brunch here with two friends this weekend and the food was delicious, but also very generous. I had the French toast with whipped cream, homemade caramel sauce, and sweet granola, with a side of bacon. Loved the lattes too. Simply yummy. Every detail was looked after and the staff are very friendly. If you're in the area, check it out.
not well organized for takeout - and very expensive - but high quality and super cute inside!
One of our favourite places for breakfast/lunch. Have tried most things on the menu and liked all without exception. Sorry that the broccoli on toast is no longer available....hope it comes back! The mimosas are great!
Always amazing! Food, staff, service...
Food is superb and unique for Kingston. Servers/cook struggle with specialized orders (e.g. no cheese).
Lovely... Great food and service.
Very delicious, lots of flavour. Friendly inviting atmosphere.
A beautifully designed space in the charming old Turks furniture building. Delicious food - we’ve tried the avo smash, the eggs benny (an original spin on a classic) and the squash dish (deep fried slices of squash with a crispy batter, think classic onion rings with a twist.) The service is always lovely and attentive. Also a perfect spot to grab a coffee or baked treat too. They have a gorgeous little outdoor garden patio in the warmer months which is a bonus. Kingston is lucky to have the Northside, definitely one of our favourite spots to visit when we are in town.
Good food but expensive and long wait
What a warm lovely great cafe in Kingston!
NORTHSIDE is so amazing in so many ways! I cant say enough about how good the food is, like a party in your mouth! Beautifully plated and so fresh! The owners and the staff are delightful. The decor is so warm and beautiful, you feel so at home. Such a wonderful experience! I so look forward to my next visit!!!!! Wish I took a PIC to share.
Lovely vegan brunch options and beautiful atmosphere here! Their veganized avocado toast is an all-time favourite of mine. I hope they provide more vegan options in the future! The flavours and aesthetics in their dishes are incredible! Also, staff are always very friendly. Love it here.
The burger is a must try
The menu said they serve 49th parallel tea. 49th parallel is a coffee roaster in Vancouver that I frequent. I wanted to know what kind of tea they offered. The menu states to ask the server for the list of tea they offer. When I did, I was hit back with a flat "what do you usually drink" reply. When it came to paying the bill, he kind of threw the bill on the table and didn't say a word. I handed the machine back, still no word. Didn't ask if I want a copy or anything. Honestly wish i didn't tip but the girl who was serving us before was so nice, I did. Even after paying, he kept making sure if we paid and even handed back a bill to one of us who already paid? I don't know. Just a really unpleasant experience overall. The decor is just your typical YVR cafe.
Had heard amazing things about this place since it opened and sampled lunch there recently and was very pleased. Awesome food. Enjoy!
Lovely breakfast; local fresh products arranged in an appetizing fashion. Fresh baked goods carried past your nose are such a temptation. Bright and airy setting. Nice spot to start your morning.
Northside never let's me down. Avo Smash is my absolute fave! Love the flat white and creative food forward cocktails!
What a fantastic all round experience! It has a bustling, cool vib with young and old coming and going. Sit at the big table up front with other people while reading The Globe n Mail or The Times or take a table just for your group. The kitchen has windows all around so you can see the hard working chefs ... love that it’s open and clean! And the food!!!! Delicious and full of interesting tasty bits with every mouthful! Fresh and oh, try the lattes! Soooo good! I can’t wait to go back!
(Translated) We waited more than an hour with a child and a 75 year old lady under the sun. Very poorly organized and unpleasant ???????????? (Original) Nous avons attendu plus que une heure avec un enfant et une dame de 75 ans sous une soleil. Très mal organisé et désagréable ????????????
Wow wow a gem . Everything is great about it
Amazing food and coffee in a beautifully restored building!
Quick service, good food. Gluten free options available!
Went here for lunch, food was fantastic, service was just ok. They were quite busy, so lacked the personal service touches. Hopefully will have a better experience next time. Food was top notch!
Delicious food with a very warm, inviting atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and the overall experience was amazing. Try the Tumeric Latte. Delicious.
Interesting place. Modern Decor. Was expecting an internet cafe but it is more of and lunch spot and there is no wifi. There is a communal table near the window but bring your newspaper or crossword puzzle. I would recommend this place for people who want a nice trendy place for a lunch date. This eatery is definitely a nice addition to downtown Kingston but the vibe wasn't right for me.
Overpriced food but no hearty food served. Yes, this can be different among customers, but paying $18 (without tax) for a burger bun + 2 small meat pieces + cilantro is farcical. Restaurants owners should considere that NOT all customers are on a diet and be fair with the prices and amount of food served.
Absolutely loved Northside espresso, from the design and the atmosphere of the place to the quality and creativity of the food and drinks. We ordered lattes and turmeric ginger late which where perfectly made along with some home made banana bread served with coffee infused butter, highly recommended! Will definitely visit again soon.
The place looks good and modern. However, the brewed coffee is sour and the poached eggs are overcooked. It can be a great place to have brunch though if you order the right things.
Great brunch place. Definitely recommend. The avocado toast was a bit spicy. Turmeric latte was an interesting experience.
What a treat....dropped by thinking I would just grab something but ended up having a peaceful lunch on the side patio. The "Huxtaburger" featured Hanover bacon and was a wonderful. But by far the most surprising thing was the full flavoured cup of coffee! So many places are now serving burnt coffee at a premium but this was a cup with flavour and nary a whif of any burnt beans. They even made a spot with water for my puppy Mudd on the patio.
Delicious breakfast munchies! Love the coffee mugs (who would have thought a thumb rest is so key?!) and also possibly my fave eggs benedict? Loved the coffee, even took a couple bags of beans home!
Would give a 3.5 if possible, and part of this review is very much personal preference. Got the breakfast bowl which was pretty bland and the roast vegetables we're cold. Wasn't bad, wholesome, I was just left wanting something more toothsome. Chicken Katsu was okay but needs a different sauce, mismatched. Short rib sandwich was good, service was good as well. What knocked it down to a 3 was getting charged 4.00 for a cup of warm milk.
UGH! So cute here. If you enjoy some quirky desserts and fresh espresso based drinks, definitely come here. The aesthetics are beautiful here :)
Loved the food options, easy atmosphere and cute patio. Had a good Bruch time here with a friend.
We wanted to love this place. The decor is very trendy but simple and clean, not overwhelming. The service was pretty good. I can see how some people love the place. We found the coffee too strong and we did not like our breakfast at all. There weren’t many breakfast choices, which is fine, but the “French toast” we chose was more like a really dense block of bread pudding. It would be ok as a dessert but was too sweet and doughy and landed like a lead weight in my stomach. We both left most of the square on our plates and the waiter didn’t ask why. As we don’t plan to go back and we were busy with other tasks we didn’t comment. Don’t order the French toast!
A little bit busy... the server will throw you out if you have already finished the food :( do not have enough time for taking photos
The food and coffee is amazing!!
The server is very friendly with big smile and willing to introduce the menu to us. Its very good experience to visit here in Kingston.
Lovely side patio with shade, plants, comfortable seating. The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked eggs, proper seasoning, delicious sauces, and perfectly pulled espresso. Extremely high quality and good value for the price. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, knowledgable, and lovely to speak with. Thanks again!
Poor customer service.. That's enough too describe the experience
Beautiful spot, yummy food and a slightly unusual menu. love the coffee.
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this cafe and absolutely loved it. The coffee is delicious. The baristas certainly know what they’re doing. Service is very friendly. Didn’t get a chance to try their food as the kitchen was closed by the time we got there. I also really liked the interior design and the atmosphere of the cafe. Also they don’t charge for almond milk which is amazing. 10/10
Avo smash with poached eggs, and hot sauce on the side, is one of my new favourite Kingston breakfasts, cappuccino is great too. A little pricy, but everything is fresh and delicious, so not out of line.
The BEST place to grab brunch in Kingston. All the food is made with love (and it shows!). The owners are so kind and the coffee is also awesome ♡
My favorite breakfast/ brunch spot in Kingston hands down. The owners are lovely and the staff are equally wonderful. This kitchen+espresso cafe has a fun Australian influence seen in the food to the beverages to the decor. I really love that their menu options lean towards healthier options, and isn't just the basic "bacon and eggs" breakfast. Even better, the coffee and espresso are incredible, and I count down the days until my next cappuccino. It's not surprising that this place is packed on the weekends, even during a pandemic (socially distanced still, of course!). YUM YUM YUM.
Very good brunch. No changes to menu though.
Great food great host/service and amazing atmosphere.
Great tasting Bendict. Relaxing vibes, and fabulous service. Would Visit Again.
First place I’ve had properly done coffee in Kingston. The food was also fantastic!
Lovely cafe with great food!! We loved Tim’s Benny and chicken sandwich! The cafe inside is very photogenic and so does the patio!! Would love to visit again if I stop by KINGSTON!!
I ordered an ice mocha for to go. The cup wasn't filled all the way up, there was little ice so it waters down quickly, and I couldn't even taste the espresso. It tasted like milk chocolate, however their chocolate sauce is pretty good, that's the 2 stars for. I asked for more ice but they refused to give me ice because they run low on ice for the day, and it's like 2:20pm at the order, they close at 3pm. They needed to save ice for another 40mins rather than serving me ice. Definitely not recommended for the service.
Came for homecoming at Queen’s, it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been back, and so wished that we had this when we were studying here! Amazing coffee, and the space is beautiful and super inviting. The staff is friendly and approachable, and I loved that we can see the kitchen preparing all the avocado toasts!!
Good breakfast.
The avo smash is wonderful (so is everything else). Very hip with an adorable outdoor seating area.
My 1st visit based on a recommendation and it was Amazing! I had the ChilliScramble and Wow! Absolutely delicious! If you are looking for something different that will make your taste buds very happy- this is it!!
Really pretty layout and design. Well thought through Melbourne influenced space and coffee shop experience. I had the magic and it was delicious. I hope they can get beans from Quietly or Little Victories soon or even a Kingston roaster who knows what they are doing.
Awesome food and atmosphere
I've been to Northside Cafe a handful of times, they really know their stuff! I'm not a coffee drinker, and don't have much experience with tea, however I hear that they make the best in town. I do eat food though and can tell you first hand, they have got it going on in the kitchen! Firstly, I really like that you can see the kitchen staff working (not sure why, but it enhances the experience for me). Also, I've ordered several menu items and tasted plenty of others, all of which leave my taste buds satisfied. Pro tip, ask for the house made hot sauce and get a brownie to go when you leave and thank me later.
Great Ambience, wonderful food and drinks!
Everything here is the best
Amazing atmorsphere and warm service… Nice food!
We walked pass, and want a coffee. This cafe caught our eyes. We wish we would try their food before we leave the town. My husband ordered a ice latte and me had Melbourne iced chocolate. He loves his coffee, good ratios on milk and espresso. And my iced chocolate was lovely, ice cream, chocolate and milk...iced drink cools us down. Will come back if we pass by Kingston.
Wonderful spot for brunch/lunch/coffees. Can accommodate large groups. Australian-inspired fare with delightful decor! Highly recommended!
Wanted to go back the next day. That's how good it was.
Always delicious!! Worth the wait for these wonderful dishes. Would recommend everything and anything on the menu! My favorite is the Avo Smash.
Went here for brunch with my wife. We walked in and the hostess told us it will be 15 minute wait, while we could see a table open. 2 minutes later a group of 4 walked in also without any sort of reservation and the same hostess immediately sat them at the open table. Needless to say we walked out. Incredibly rude and unprofessional.
I got the brekkie bowl and it was perfect.
If you are going anywhere in Kingston to grab a coffee or breakfast or both, then I highly suggest this amazing Aussie inspired eatery with its calm bohemian greenery and down under flair, unique and delightful menu items, and very helpful staff! It was a delicious and fun spot! Great for a breakfast date or a girls' brunch hangout or even a solo coffee perch.
If you want a taste of an Australian breakfast, this is the place to go. Food and coffee was insanely delicious. Seriously feels like we teleported into a cute cafe in Melbourne.
Went here for the very first time and didn't regret my decision. The ambience is good and it's always busy so I believe it's a good place else noone would be coming here. Go there and give it a try. It's worth, trust me.
Really really enjoyed this place! Come here as early as you are able to ensure you don't have to wait in the long line that probably forms not long after it opens. They don't take reservations. My YEA and I planned to get here as the doors open on 8AM. We ended up being 7 minutes early. The extra effort was well worth it because not long we seated, the place started to fill up. This is 8AM on a Sunday btw. This shop serves up platefuls of Aussie inspired brunch fare that tickle your tastebuds in a room that is filled with natural sunlight and brightly decorated space. It's highly IG-able but not just IG-able. The food is legit too. There are two big group tables of 8 that you may share with others during the busiest of times, 2 tables of four, and the rest are small tables of 2 resting along the wall. It's a very long and narrow space but the decor makes feel bigger. We started off with a pot of English Breakfast tea. Although the menu says it is made for one, you can get about 3.5 cups of tea out of the single pot. There's definitely room to share if you don't mind the cooties. We browsed the menu very thoroughly and decided to settle on three items: 1. Avo Smash - gotta try it the OG way since this originated from Australia. This is an absolute must dish to order if you love avo toast. I completely enjoyed it from start to finish. The avocado was ripe and only lightly smashed. The Thai chili gave it a great tinge of heat. The feta and lemon added this acidity to cut through the creaminess of the avocado. It was served on top of a piece of grilled sourdough bread that held up against the weight of the avo smash itself. 2. Tim's Benny - an Aussie twist on an egg's benny It's a pretty solid combination. The potato rosti is really thick take on a hashbrown that is lightly browned and crispy on the outside while the shredded potato is moist on the inside. The salted ham combined with the runny yolk and lively apple cider hollandaise bring it all together. 3. a side of Haloumi - uh yeah, just because it's awesome. The service is super friendly and casual. The vibe is friendly and cheerful even at 8AM in the morning. Would definitely come back out here again. I can see why this place is a hit in Kingston.
Great espresso and food, amazing atmosphere, and wonderful service.
Cute atmosphere, excellent friendly staff. I ordered the latte made with oat milk as I am lactose intolerant and found the coffee to be too "bright" and acidic tasting. Not my cup of tea but if you like bright coffee, I would recommend this place for you. Had a sip of the regular latte made with milk and it tasted totally different- not bright/acidic at all, very enjoyable.
The dressing on this salad was absolutely perfect, light and flavourful. The presentation/plating was on point. Definitely recommend.
Perfect for your Instagram aesthetic
Best breakfast and coffee in town. Lovely staff also.
Food is just as great as the service.
Hey....nice place.... impressive kitchen....smart people.....love the food!!!!!!
Lovely staff, especially Emily! Good coffee, love the aesthetic of the place.
Great food and ambience. Friendly service well worth the price. Maybe improve table layout. Can feel a bit crowded at times because of the limited space.
So good!
Wonderful Breakfast!!
Cute and trendy.
Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the avocado smash I purchased. Paid $16 and got alot of avo but not much else. Only 1 slice of toast. Great coffee and friendly staff.
Best coffee in Kingston, awesome unique & delicious menu. The cafe has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely a must to check out if you find yourself in Kingston.
Good really good ....
Could be better but liked the tea.
Super friendly, competent staff. Interesting menu. Chicken Bahn Mi: excellent. Tim's Bene: didn't enjoy ham, rosti very nice.
A wonderful cafe that captures the Oceanic experience quite will. I travel to AUS / NZ annually for work and this is a great representation of that experience. Amazing food, incredible atmosphere and exceptional service and smiles all around.
Amazinggggg!!
Best Coffee in Kingston, Perhaps the best in the country!!
This is the kind of place people with their heads up their arses go to. It’s very pretentious, and not worthy of the staff’s high noses. Almost every dish has a gluten component. My dining companion had eaten there before and ordered the same meal which was safe for her allergies. Simple request... no bread please. Our waiter treated my friend like she was an idiot for making the request. We explained to him that it was due to allergies, no substitutions required, just don’t put bread on her plate. He said they would use gluten free bread, we indicated that it wouldn’t solve the problem and would be wasted food. He wouldn’t comply and said that’s the way the meals had to be plated. My friend had ordered over priced scrambled eggs..... Because we were trying to have a nice breakfast, we tried to let it go. My friend was upset at how she was treated, so I went to speak to the manager. It was a waste of time. I tried to explain that the food would be wasted, very bothersome, but the woman insisted it had to be plated that way. When our food arrived, I asked for a side plate, took the bread off my friend’s plate and sent it back to the kitchen. My dish was mushrooms on sourdough toast which was so tough it ruined the dish. When our bill arrived, it included a $2 fee for substituting gluten free bread! Food we didn’t want in the first place. I won’t be going back.
Possibly one of the best places in Kingston for breakfast/brunch/lunch and certainly the best one downtown. Great atmosphere, staff, coffee and food.
Absolutely AMAZING experience here. The waitress was funny and kind, the coffee was fantastic, my muffing was lovely. Shout out to the kitchen staff who recognized our critical role t-shirts. You're pretty cool! Would suggest trying all the coffee and food here.
Food was subpar prices were outrageous, will not be back to the "Australian Restruant"
I make a point of coming here every time I'm in kingston. Makes me feel like I'm back in Vancouver. Great west coast coffee, amazing food, lovely staff.
Very good food and great service
A very aesthetically pleasing café with a bright and welcoming environment inside and out. Food and drinks are pricey but very good. You get what you pay for. When I'm travelling these are the kinds of places I'm looking for, worth the visit!
Great coffee, lunch was very tasty.
I was looking forward to try this cafe, but was underwhelmed by the poor service and mediocre food. The inside of the cafe is very, very nice. They have a great lighting situation and you are able to view the kitchen from your seats, which is neat. The barista bar is fun and welcoming. My server was not. He probably spoke 4 short sentences to us in total, and was not very accommodating. The hostess sat us at a table near the door, and every time someone came in or went out the cold and warmth followed creating uncomfortable drafts. I ordered Tim's Benny and was fairly disappointed. I was not a fan of the fried shredded potato base as a substitute for an English muffin or bread. The shredded ham was okay. The egg was poached just a bit too long and was not very runny. The addition of the hollandaise sauce was fairly conservative. It was not appealing, or colorful to look at; It was white, yellow and brown. The other plates around me did look very good, maybe I had made a poor choice from the menu. The overall experience left me underwhelmed, but I have hope for this Kingston cafe.
Delightful, charming, tasty. Bringing fine nuances in the experience, sweetness in the service and satisfaction in the belly.
DELICIOUS! Great food combinations. Different but delicious.
EGGS BENNY!!!! Best in town! ✨✨✨
Great atmosphere and coffee. No Wi-Fi and no inexpensive snack options.
Coffee wasn't great. Food was ok.
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and coffee
Great coffee, delicious healthy breakfast, amazing venue. We came back the next day for the same breakfast
Great coffee for great price.
Worth every penny when you want to treat yourself to a nice breakfast.
Cutest little spot! Great new addition to kingston! Will return to test the food!
Fantastic cafe and restaurant. A must visit in Kingston. Great coffee, I can’t recommend the flat white enough (had it with oat milk). We ordered the Smashed Avo (vegan version) with a side of pickled beets and it was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Very cute patio tucked away from Kingston's main street. The food was very good but quite overpriced. The service was lovely.
I wish I lived in Kingston just for this brunch spot! The service was efficient and pleasant, the atmosphere was quaint even though we were sitting on the part of the terrasse that's on the street, the food was as good as it was eye pleasing, good coffee, good cocktails, nice flowers on the table... Perfection!
Friendly staff, cute place. The presentation of the food is awesome. Loved the turmeric latte.
A new place for breakfast or brunch! Very fresh atmosphere, reminiscent of NYC or Montreal. The menu was varied, the coffee was excellent. My first notice was the decent cutlery, something a lot of local restaurants overlook. The cutlery and table settings were thoughtful and indicative of the standard and atmosphere I hoped to experience.
Fantastic place. I don't normally have coffee, but the menu caught my eye. Had the Melbourne Iced Mocha and the Brekkie Bowl with Chorizo, and they were both excellent. Went just before noon, place was packed and service was still pretty good. I did find it a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it for the quality.
Love, Love this place! We frequently go here for our Manager meetings and I go often with friends as well. Such a lovely addition to the Kingston cafe scene. The food is so good. Baked goods, savoury dishes, specialty drinks! Lovely staff and the owners are there every day working along side their team ❤️
Beautiful setting. Excellent service. Excellent food
Delicious breakfast and a great find. They have some vegan breakfast options which is hard to find especially in Kingston. Also have gluten free and the service was friendly and prompt.
Came in for a coffee and to use quiet study area. We noticed our service level changed by Jen when she realized my girlfriend wasn't ordering anything. Customers shouldn't be treated based on what they spend. Not the most pleasant experience.
Amazing and Fantastic place!!!
One of the best brunch places in Kingston and my favorite coffee in the city. Wonderful food, wonderful service. Cannot recommend enough.

Breakfast wasn't as good as it can be here
This place has cozy vibe . Very beautiful ambiance and also patio area. Menu is very different and has great options. Your food looks beautiful on the plate. Staff is very friendly and help you customize your food if needed. Don’t miss the place if you are Kingston , it’s a hidden gem !!!!
Of all the cafes in kingston, this one has the best lattes and food
Best little cafe and brunch place in kingston so far
I have a new favorite drink, the turmeric latte with coconut milk. So delicious. Will be bringing guests this summer for some of Tim's Benny and a boozy brunch.
Everything was amazing! The fresh food, the atmosphere, the freshly squeezed juices. Would definitely recommened.
I was hesitating reviewing the place because I don't want it to get busier but it is the best and you should go there.
Food was good however I thought it was very expensive for what you got. Also, I couldn't be more dissatisfied with the service. Not interested in returning for another visit. In response to the owners reply: The server I had in particular was good, she was following the rules set out by management. Today I paid $57.00 for two people to have breakfast which is far above the average cost for the majority of breakfast establishments in the area. While I knew that you charge outrageous prices, I agreed to meet the other party since I figured the food was excellent and the customers would be treated with respect. I was grossly mistaken in both of these areas. I thought the food good but nothing special and was shocked that the owner of a restaurant would price gouge a customer and charge $2.00 for a 0.25 cent mask just to be a patron at your business. I was also very dissatisfied with the fact that when my spouse asked for her cheese to be on the side the server told her that you either get the cheese on your dish or nothing. This is yet another example in addition to your overpriced food and price gouged masks of how you intend to squeeze every dollar from your customers and when they're upset, post a passive aggressive reply to their review. It seems that many others have had very similar issues to what I had experienced today.
It's an absolutely adorable place (perfect insta aesthetic) and the food was super yummy and fresh
Delicious food, great vegetarian options, amazing coffee. The menu is a bit pricey but totally worth the extra cash.
Amazing staff, food and setting. Highly recommend for anyone visiting or living in Kingston.
Fantastic food and fantastic space and fantastic coffee !
Very friendly and easy going breakfast place with fine, but healthy dishes and a proper espresso or cappuccino to taste!
Absolutely amazing, great foot, lovely owners and staff. This place made my trip to Kingston. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing food, made with fresh ingredients, priced perfectly. The best Eggs Benedict I've ever had.
Well, it was a fun small atmosphere, coffee was a small portion but packed a punch. We got seated with other people at a larger table so wasn't intimate. But a good different. And the waiter asked if we wanted to sit for a table instead. We didn't care. We had a baby and were kinda scared about bringing it to this place based on reviews we read but when we got there there were 5 other babies already in there.. so we felt right at home. The waitress was good didn't have any issue with her. Rated just on the coffee portion size over all experience 3.8.
Great atmosphere. Good coffee with great service. we didnt eat on our visit. but seen a few plates go by. it looked good for what it's worth. if I had one negative. its expensive! worth a visit.
Great healthy food, a bit overpriced though
Good healthy choices
Absolutely best coffee in Kingston.
Love it!!
Beautiful place and wonderful fresh food. Lots of options for a meal or just a snack.
make sure to add the citrus hot sauce to your egg selection... so delicious.
Friendly staff and delicious meals!
Delicious food. Vegan and gf options available. Good service. Clean. Modern decor. Extended hours for summer even! Love this place. Great addition to downtown Kingston, and kid friendly!
My favourite cafe in Kingston. Excellent coffee. The best I've had in Canada since coming back from Australia. The food is amazing; really friendly staff and it's really cool what they've done with the decour.
Can't tell from the exterior but there is a lot of space and seating area. The staff are warm and friendly. I only stopped in for coffee with some people but the menu looked complete and different than what you normally find around Kingston. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast or lunch.
Saw this place yesterday evening when we went next door for a beer. Came back today for breakfast and a coffee and it blew us away. Among the best coffees we’ve ever had in Canada. Had a second flat white and it was consistent with the first which is a great sign for a barista. We will be coming back for sure on each and every visit to Kingston. Wish we’d found it sooner.
Amazing food, incredibly friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Delicious food is made really fast, and the lovely servers make sure that you're enjoying it. Will definitely be coming here again.
Beautiful ambiance. Great food. Friendly staff. This will become a regular spot for me

Best brunch I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating when I say I wish I could give this place 6 stars out of 5. The tea was good quality (Earl Grey) loose leaf served on an adorable single pot that kept it the perfect temperature throughout the meal. The cappuccino was smooth and not at all bitter - I didn't use the sugar at all because it was just so good. As vegetarians craving eggs benny, we got creative with the help of our sever. I got the Avo Smash with extra poached eggs and a side of hollandaise sauce. It was a veritable mountain of avo, and the lemon just brought it to a perfect explosion of flavour. The hollandaise was not entirely traditional but oh so amazing. I don't know what made it so good, but it was glorious. My partner ordered poached Just Eggs (which came with sourdough toast) and also a side of hollandaise. We split the Avo Smash and toast - there was enough avo to go across 3 slices of toast. It was the perfect franken-brunch. We each had half the avo, 2 poached eggs and 1.5 slices of toast, and a side of hollandaise. You could get away with splitting one side of hollandaise between two people, but we really love hollandaise sauce. I'm definitely coming back. I don't live here but next time I'm in Kingston I'm coming back. So so good.
So cute. Friendly staff. Delicious brunch.
Lovely and cozy environment, great coffee, delicious and creative food, friendly service. And it's a refreshing change not having laptops open at every table all afternoon.
We were from out of town and just wanted a decent latte to go. Beautiful establishment/decor and very busy (always a good sign). Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We didn't just get a decent latte but had one of the best latte's we have ever had. Consistently of the milk was incredible and the strength of the espresso was perfect. We'll be back when we're in Kingston again!
cute place, avocado toast was bomb
Went for brunch. It was great! They also have a cute small terrace on the side of the restaurant. Tables and groups were separated with clear plastic dividers due to the pandemic which made me feel safer. Staff was very friendly and the wait time wasn’t very long. Highly recommend.
Excellent coffee & food. Great atmosphere.
Delicious breakfast food and atmosphere. We had fresh flowers at our table which was lovely :)
Love the benny!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent food and service
This place is awesome! The avocado toast is a must try and the coffee is both strong and delicious
Welcoming atmosphere, detail oriented staff, gracious owners, well made coffee, and delicious food.
Delicious breakfast and great service!
The cutest restaurant with a great atmosphere and amazing food! Definitely a must-stop whether visiting or living in Kingston.
Great coffee, great food, original recipes and very friendly staff.
I have tried this cafe a couple of times and I found it to have middling food and drinks. Service and layout are a bit awkward too.
What can I say that 5 stars won’t. This place is amazing. A place you want to stay and enjoy the coffee and food. Here’s hoping for a saturday or just a day off so I can stay and enjoy the ambiance. Thanks to the owners to give us such a welcoming place.
Great food and service
Staff was very friendly. Tea Latte is tasty and unique. The Eggs Benedict is excellent and a little different take on the usual. Eggs seemed exceptionally fresh, the ham and apple on top really sets it apart. Two drinks and two Benny’s will come in around $50 which is the only reason why we give this place 4/5 instead of 5/5.
The food is very good and fresh. The only downside was that it was busy and we had to wait awhile for a table. Would recommend calling in ahead for a reservation!
Fresh local food and original dishes. Definitely worth checking out.
In a typical millennial fashion, I ordered the Avo Smash, a Melbourne classic, and one of the more popular dishes. The smash features a ripe avacado mixed in with goat cheese on toasted sourdough bread. I also opted for a poached egg which was perfectly done. Details like the hints of mint and Thai chilis give the toast a nice kick in flavour.
Charming little coffee shop that's more then just coffee
Awesome. Try Tim's benny.(eggs benedict).
Great cafe in beautiful downtown Kingston. Patio and service was lovely. Delicious coffee.
We ordered the avo smash and chilli scramble and both were very good. Great coffee and good choice of cocktails. Very friendly service. There are some tables at the side and a small patio at the front of the café. Highly recommend stopping by if in Kingston.
Excellent service and food
Polite, courteous staff. Great food. Will go again.
Wonderful space with great vibes + food!
Breakfast was good but $$$
Avocado "smashed " it????
Waiter is grumpy. Everything else, perfect!
Little but of a hipster joint, but the food is amazing.
It's all true: great eats and top notch, friendly service,!
Went for a Saturday brunch. Amazing food and generous mimosa. Definitely had a great experience.
We had a group of 11 and all of us LOVED the food we got. The food menu is varied, coffees are strong, and cocktails are delicious. Thanks for an awesome brunch Northside!
Love this place! Definitely best cappuccinos in Kingston and yummy avacado toast too.
Amazing food, freshly squeezed lemonade, coffee - everything! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The food was delicious, the decor was nice and the service was great! I will definitely back. Northside has definitely become a Kingston staple.
Just perfect for the brunch ! The waitress voice is amazing !! Loved it !
Food is okay, small portions but as a lunch place I could see the appeal for some people, just not my kind of place for a meal.
Great service, beautiful food, will come back
Always very busy, and I dont think they take reservations. The food is delicious, worth the wait and the money. The food is not overpriced, it is expensive. It is expensive because it is great quality. I have been here about 6 times now (the Tim's benny and avo smash are both fantastic. )
One of my favourite places in Kingston. The coffee is excellent and the egg’s Benny is one of the best I’ve had. Be prepared to wait a while in the doorway to get a seat though ;(
Best food, incredible coffee, hands down the best humans who own and work in this fabulous place.
It's pretty ok, the food was a bit underseasoned and everything was 1-3$ more then you'd be expecting. The vibe of the place was cool and I really liked their plants. I would go back, but it's not my top choice.
All coffee related drinks are fine. Decor is very nice. Lighting is beautiful inside. Quite expensive for the amount of food/drink you get. If you consider yourself as someone who would be full by eating a small/medium sized salad, you will be fine. Otherwise, you will be disappointed. Ordered 2 different dishes on separate occasions and found that to be the case both times.
Had breakfast here this morning and it was delicious! Busy place with great coffee.
Delicious food!
Great environment, encouraging staff, and excellent coffee.
Northside is our go-to spot for brunch. It's so popular in our home that even our out-of-town guests always request a stop at Northside for breakfast.
Amazing selection of coffee drinks and a delicious menu of sweet and savory items. Favourites are the French toast and avo smash!
Great food and service.
best brunch in kingston, packed but almost no waiting, considerate/friendly staff. great coffee. yeay!
First time. Excellent service, excellent food. Will be back!!
Great brunch spot
A fantastic cafe! Really excellent coffee and food, made with fresh, quality ingredients. The restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere delightful!
Wonderful food and atmosphere
Heard good reviews of their brunch unfortunately wasn't available that day. They were nice enough to txt us when a table opened up. Service was super friendly and the coffee was excellent. Out of the four of us no one was able to find anything that caught our eye to order for brunch so we left shortly after. Definitely not the fault of the business or the staff we were just looking for basic bacon and egg breakfasts. Would definitely try again when we don't have specific meals in mind.
Great food, coffee, drinks and treats. Awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Funky food. Amazing coffee. Cozy and cute vibe. I come here almost every day I'm off. I love it!
Service= 6 stars. Atmosphere= 5 stars. Portion size= 5 stars. Flavor (greens, eggs & ham burger)= 3 stars. Cappuccino needs improvement. Lovely staff ????
Healthy lunch. Coffee size was quite small:(. Good service. 20 mins wait time for lunch outside of the restaurant. The price was a little higher ($2-3) than average. No desserts were available in other’s reviews but only cookies.
They serve balkan foods and Austrian foods, so expect lots of tasty meats!I had the combo platter for 2 on two different occasions. It comes with a wide variety of different meats, and is perfect for sharing between two or three different people. There's no vegetables in the platter, other than a small side of coleslaw and beans so consider ordering a salad too.
My tea was luke warm.. the food and the Magic were awesome as usual.
Great atmosphere, food is delicious and the service is awesome!
An absolute go-to spot on the way from Ottawa to Toronto. Great coffee, great food, great staff.
Possibility the best eggs benny I’ve ever had. Using a block of fried potato hash instead of a standard biscuit as the base of this dish really took it to the next level. Amazing.
Came for the late night debut, and I’m coming back! GORGEOUS hand crafted cocktails in the evening. There is a difference in care. This place is a cafe community.
Very expensive for the portion size. Even the coffee (which was delicious) was a very small cup. Staff member was kind of rude - the restaurant was busy and we were shoved in the back at a communal table - the acoustics were terrible - and we certainly didn't feel welcomed at all.
Delicious!
So yummy!
The vibe of the place is very nice. The food was very delicious. The only issue is that the wait time is usually 20 mins or a communal table is available with a wait of 5 mins.
Beautiful restaurant with a very hip and exciting feel. Very much reminds me of the scene in Australia. The food that we tried was delicious, and aside from an improperly cooked egg, we were really happy with the dishes. The host was really kind and accommodating, but a few of the other staff seemed more cold and like we were a bother (the place was busy though). All the dishes we ordered were very small portions which was disappointing since the prices are not low and we left feeling hungry. The coffee is good, but not enough that I'd come just for the coffee. I'm glad we tired the place, but I think I'll keep checking out other loacal places for the future :) Would do 2.5 stars if I could..
Incredible food taste, presentation & quality! Truly - Flavors & style brought from Melbourne. Very engaged team & friendly service. I’ll come again & again …. & again. Lol
Visiting from Australia and saw this cafe. Came in expecting a true authentic cafe experience found in Melbourne. The atmosphere was amazing. The cafe is designed like those found at home. Ordered and received a delicious avo smash, turmeric latte and orange juice! Lastly, we had the french toast, however, I was very disappointed. The French toast is in fact a bread pudding. We had ordered two of those and mentioned to the waitress our disappointment only to be told it’s actually well liked among customers as if it’s our wrong!? Overall, great attempt at an Australian cafe but disappointing customer service and French toast.
I have had brunch twice here since coming to Kingston for the summer! It is by far the best food I've had here. The first time I went for chicken schnitzel coupled with a regular cappuccino which was great! The next time went for the eggs Benedict with a chai tea latte. The presentation and the service was on point as well! Definitely recommend trying this place out!
Unique flavours that are not found in the region. This is a delicious place to eat if you're looking for something other than the plain old breakky. I will definitely recommend that you try it!
Everything is very is very good. The decor is beautiful.
Discovered flat white coffee. Now it is my favorite.
Excellent food, excellent service. One if my absolute fabourite places in Kingston, a must !
Good service, nice to be able to see food being prepared. Long mac slightly too short for me, but coffee is great, one of the best in town! Disappointed with the burger. Bacon was too thick and undercooked. You expect crispiness and flavor, instead of chewing on fat. I had to drink 3 glasses of water to finish it. Alas no side with the burger, not even a couple of leafs of salad. Might be a wrong choice off the menu. Will give this place a second chance.
Such a lovely space to grab a bite and or a bevy. You leave feeling as though you've had a little escape. The food and coffee beverages are on point!
The food is decent but not worth the price in my opinion. There’s also one server who is also the most unfriendly person, and they’ve become notorious amongst my friends as the grumpy Northside server.
A great twist on the overwhelming number of cafes in Kingston. Very expensive so it’s hard to justify going often.
I’m always impressed by the consistency of this place: the quality of food, genuine hospitality & attention to detail. During my most recent visit, I was particularly wowed by Emily’s warm & personalized service. This truly is one of Kingston’s finest establishments.
Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and service. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and drink. I will say I'm not too happy that they refuse cash.
Great coffee and original food options
The food was great. Service was great. The atmosphere was great. 10/10 would recommend. As a matter of fact, we’re going back tomorrow.
Service was amazing, food was delicious, but not super hot by the time it got to the table
Amazing coffee and a delicious menu! The decor is also so pretty.
Finally Kingston has a great little Brunch spot! The atmosphere is lovely, the decor is beautiful and our breakfasts were spectacular. The people behind Northside obviously know what they're doing and love good food! We can't wait to eat here again.
