This gorgeous shop, with beautiful hardwood and stone in the interior, is a Kingston institution. From the gourmet cheeses, wide coffee bean selections, or imported chocolates and condiments, this is absolutely the place to go for some gifts for loved ones or a personal indulgence. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Located only half a block up Brock from City Hall.

Love going to Cooke's to speak with the cheese monger who will help you select a few cheeses for a sweet little picnic at Confed. They have really beautiful, gourmet food here. Pricey, but memorable.

Came in at end of Feb on a Sat looking for things I could eat since have many food intolerances. This sweet young gal actually started reading ingredients on product to see if she could find things I could have. I bought a mango chutney, ginger marinade and another item. That girl was amazing n persistent. The only bad thing was cost came to $28 dollars. Store was clean staff was good. Not sure if I can justify the cost.

Great store, love the gift baskets at the back, However what keeps me from giving 5 stars is a unpleasant older blond woman who works as the clerk/manager. You don't have to be overjoyed at seeing customers but at least look and act like you aren't inconvenienced by us.

Stacy DuBois

The 1865 coffee blend from this place is particularly delicious! Prices are steep but there's a really nice assortment of quality treats.

This is the very best place to shop at the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable they will help you with anything that you need assistance with. I used to work at this store and was known as Dave The Cheeseman and it was awesome to work there for the Cooke family :-). The store has many good products and it is really cool to walk into the store where the ceiling, the walls, shelves, and floor are all original it is like walking into the past. As soon as you open the door the water of freshly ground arises and wraps around you to make you say Wow that smells delicious! If you are a cheese fan go and check out their selection of delicious cheeses and try out their 2 year old cheddar it is out of this world! At Cooke's they also make up baskets for any occasion and they are beautifully made :-).

What a fabulous store. Baked goods and chocolates from around the world. Fresh ground coffee and cheeses as well. They had all the German Christmas treats that make up a wonderful Christmas plate, I'm very happy. Because most of the products are imported expect to pay a little bit more, but it is so worth it. Thanks to the staff for your help and friendly service. Happy Holidays.

Well, we just made a (time wasted) round-trip to PEC store, from Belleville, only to find out that your advertised OPEN/CLOSE hours of operation, were WRONG! You were NOT OPEN - but your facebook site said you were. And, your actual website says you are open - nope! Not true! How difficult is it to have the correct times advertised correctly? Especially right now with all this craziness! Especially on a facebook site! Sheeeeeesssh Things have been so up in the air these past two years that many of us have been "trained" to check the open and closed hours for most establishments. In fact, before we left, we checked your hours - SO WE WOULDN'T WASTE A TRIP. A piece of paper stuck to the door of your establishment alerting those (who probably also double-checked before coming) that you are closed, really doesn't cut it. We love Cooke's coffee, etc. Truly. But you need to properly update those pesky hours of operation. Fortunately, the cafe across the street sold us an organic, hand roasted, french roast from Prince Edward County's, CHERRY BOMB. Maybe I'll revise this review and let everyone know how much we enjoyed Cherry Bomb Coffee.
