Ordered pickup for 3 meals and still had to wait 15 minutes for it to be packed. Schnitzels were great! But potatoes that were served as side were not that great. Also ordered mixed salad that happened to be a regular salad with cold mashed potatoes, was not impressed. Goulash was good, but side was like flour boiled balls, a little tasteless. Overall - meat is great, side dishes not so much.

Six of us sat outside on the patio for our lunch for celebration of my Sister in Law's 75th Birthday. Excellent choices of selections for lunch. My potato pancakes with smoke salmon was superb!! Our server was wonderful and witty!

This is really like being back in Germany. I had the Brauer Schnitzel with Spätzle and salad both of which were delicious. The portion was gigantic. The Dunkel Weiß was great.

My group of four had a great experience at Amadeus. Thank you to our server Hannah for being so patient and polite. The schnitzel was so delicious. We were all raving about the food and the overall experience. Great value. The "small schnitzel" is huge and comes with salad, potatoes or spätzle and carrots. So yummy I'm already planning a trip back soon.

Gem in downtown Kingston! Consistent quality, friendly staff. Amazing beer on tap. Check out the biergarten in the back (seasonal). Honest German/Austrian cuisine done right. Chef/owner Brian is doing a great job. We are local, live in the west end and this place makes us want to visit downtown. Prost!

This is what we say on our way home after Amadeus. Every time! We hadn't been for a while and went early September. Nothing had changed. Amazing, authentic food and great service. We always go for one of the Schnitzel platters. This time we added the sausage appetizer. Really didn't need it, but oh so good!

This place is 10/10. Made me feel like I was back in Munich again. They import all of their beers, their sausages are very authentic, and their schnitzel is amazing. Great prices as well for a lot of delicious food. I would highly reccomend any of the sausages, the jagerschnitzel is amazing. One of the best hidden gems in Kingston if you love German/eastern European food.

Best German dinner we've had since Frankenmuth,MI. We couldn't believe the portion sizes and how good everything was. Back patio at night was really nice - string lights, ivy on the walls, just a nice cozy place.

Food was tasty with large portions. Patio is beautiful. Service, however, was horrible. Waitress couldn’t find our reservation then was grumpy when we asked her to wipe off the patio chairs that were soaked from the recent rainfall (were we supposed to sit in the puddles?!?). She continued to be snotty to us the whole time. Forgot my friends drink, never checked on us after the food arrived, and forced us all to pay by machine when my friend wanted to pay cash. Disappointing since the food was good but service makes or breaks a restaurant and none of us will be going back.

By far my most favorite spot in Kingston. An amazing hidden back patio, great servers, great German beers (Hacker Pshor Hefe is an amazing treat) and well priced, generous servings of delicious food. This is even a fantastic spot for vegans offering a modified version of their Ziguner Shnitzel with a fantastic side salad, extra potatoes and a roster veggie tomato sauce over their fried breaded veggie snitzel. Delicious, comforting, well priced, unpretentious dining in Kingston. I look forward to every meal at Amadeus.

I cannot say enough about this yummy German cafe. The decor, the staff, and the food are all great! Very welcoming environment and wide selection of alcohol. Extensive menu which includes an entire section dedicated to sausage and schnitzel. There is also some seafood and other fare. Check it out. Probably the best restaurant in Kingston, and really made my experience there worthwhile.

Love Amadeus, but seems a little different. No bread or goulash soup as an upgrade as they ran out. They may have a new chef as the schnitzel seems to be cooked a little different. The breading which is usually crisp and delicious was not so much this time. Our waiter Ricky was very nice

I cannot comment on the authenticity of the food, but it tasted good! The Goulasch soup was a little lacking in substance though with two small pieces of beef. The service was greatly lacking. I understand that there is a shortage due to covid, but the waitress made me feel as if I was being a bit of a nuisance by just being there. I would recommend a visit for the atmosphere and food, the hidden patio at the back is greatly unsuspecting, but beautiful.

Are you looking to take a breif trip to Germany and don't care to quarantine for 2 weeks? Amadeus Cafe is the answer, step through the portal to the Hinterland and enjoy some top notch German fare. I was the beneficiary of a beautiful Smoked Sausage with Mustard, Sauerkraut and seasoned Potatoes. I paired with this delicious meal a cold Hacker Pschorr and was very impressed with the draft selection. The quality of the meal was only surpassed by the service. As always, don't forget to tip your waitstaff. Cheers!

The best German cuisine I have had in Canada. Source been to Germany many times including Bavaria and been exploring various restaurants across southwestern Ontario. Dishes were Rouladen and Schitzel with Kaese spatzle.

Visited just after lunch time and got the seat by the window. Delicious, large pieces of schnitzel with potatoes and some carrots, and the meal also came with a nice daily soup. Tried two kinds of schnitzel and both were very tasty. Had the Mozart crepe for dessert which also tasted good. Would visit again.
