We've got all the opinions of real people who are purchasing the services and products of The Nest (Coffee Shop) in Kimberley area (Canada).
At the present this business gets a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the rating has been based on 91 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is basically the best one, and it is founded on a large number of reviews, so we may say that the score is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to place evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Restaurant.
I had the lamb and eggs at their Sunday brunch. It was incredible. Definitely not your run of the mill breakfast. Cool atmosphere too. Probably not the best place to go if you are in a hurry but the food is worth the wait.
Have eaten here twice and both times were amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
Went last night for dinner. Great food and drinks. Prices were reasonable for the quality. We were nervous taking a toddler there but the server was so hospitable and we didn’t feel awkward at all. Highly recommend this little place!
My beautiful girlfriend Nicole, and I had a fantastic date day in Kimberley and finished it off with an incredible meal at The Nest. We had never eaten here before, it was recommended to us by Bev at Zen Mountain Wellness Spa. We were completely blown away by this little restaurant nestled in the quiet streets of Marysville. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect, quiet yet very comforting with vynal records playing in the back ground and modern yet rustic decor. The two owners were perfectly helpful and the gormet meal was exceptional. We will be recommending this fantastic little place to everyone we know! We are looking forward to eating there again in the near future. What a great find! Sincerely, Ryan Wilhelm
Great food and atmosphere. A top notch gem in Marysville.
Absolutely phenomenal, I don't think I've had food so good. Had bone marrow, the sirloin, and some flat bread. Everything has it's it' district flavor and it was beyond delicious. Awesome little joint where the bartender plays vinyl tunes. Great atmosphere, absolutely stunning food. Amazing place. Worth every penny.
Fantastic food, awesome staff. A hidden gem!
The food and drinks were amazing! And the service was top notch. Thank you for an awesome experience!
The owners are serious beauties! Their food is inspired by fresh and local ingredients and the talent of the chef makes every dish a work of delicious art... They have some amazing cocktails to go with their wines, beers, and ciders. The room is cozy and the service is great. These guys rock!
Really slow service. Don’t go if you’re hungry (2020). Maybe they’re faster now?
Awesome gourmet food, great customer service just wish it was in Victoria!
Enjoyed our meal/experience at the nest! Great place for a special dinner.
The owner was incredibly rude and did not want to serve us with out a word. We walked in and he just looked at us and said "Nope, can't do it." I would give this place no stars if it was an option. He clearly does not care about his business nor his customers.
An absolute hidden gem. Amazing food at a very good price (especially considering the quality). The owner/server/chef is an absolute delight and everything is fresh and delicious.
Awesomeness
Excellent Brunch!
Food was all made from scratch including the icecream. Everything was so delish. And perfectly portioned. The atmosphere is really neat, the lighting especially and the service was great. We had the Moscow Mule Chicken, Herb crusted lamb and tenderloin. Brie, brushetta and chicken croquettes for appies. All amazing. Everyone drooled over the little chocolates with the bill.
I absolutely loved the food. Simple fresh ingredients in the perfect combination. Interesting people and decor. The best meal I have had in Kimberley. No I am not repeated.
Won’t go back. Very rich food. Beyond my digestive systems capabilities. enjoyed the food here last year but in the three times I have eaten at the nest it’s gone steadily down hill. it is now over priced , low quality , and not worth the drive from Kimberley. The rot is really a function of the dinning scene in Kimberley. No one raises the bar in the restaurant industry and all food service establishments sink to mediocrity.
Great patio and service. Outstanding tasting food! The best Pad Thai I’ve ever had and now my new favourite restaurant. The Nest was an incredible find. I highly recommend a meal here if you are staying in the Kimberley area and want a high quality meal. Top marks!
Slow food movement...it's here...So don't complain....talk to each other....ask to flip the record so you can hear side B. Reasonable prices for the 'one-man talent' who cooks your amazing food...and the 'other guy' who is a food-runner, host, server, bartender, busser and chief bottle wash. Drink their beverages. Eat dessert. Go for brunch on Sundays. Call for reso...usually open for dinner at 5 sharp except on brunch days.
The Nest Bistro is just ridiculously good. Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, incredible cocktail menu and wine list, and food that one would ask for as their last meal. The care that goes into the customer experience is substantial. The food is made from scratch, elegantly plated and has flavours that one passes down through generations. What are you waiting for? You owe it to yourself to get to The Nest. You will not regret it.
Geniuses of Kootenay casual.
Phenomenal place. Fresh prepared, small menu.
Nestled in the small town of Marysville is a treasure called The Nest. Here you will find extraordinary food prepared fresh for you. On our visit, the sirloin was superb, the vegatarian option was good but we waited over one hour (they were especially busy). Do make reservation and savour the experience.
Lovely little restaurant in Marysville. The food was great, staff very friendly, a very enjoyable experience.
Food was delicious and the service was well done paired with funky decor and good tunes. We loved our food but would have enjoyed a slightly larger portion.
We had the lamb, duck and seared tuna salad. All was amazing.
Amazing food service and music. This would be a gem even in a big city.
I have never expérienced spices so well balanced and smooth. The bone marrow was devine, the Tuna foodgasmic. And the Steak was able to be cut with a butter knife. Go, if you see this. Make the de tour, take the hour and just be. It will be a memmory that will put a smile on your face for years to come.
Amazing brunch in all ways: flavour, presentation and service was all excellent. Very reasonable cost considering the quality of the dishes. Even a breakfast margarita and raspberry habanero cheesecake!! Will try dinner next time we are in the area.
My new favourite restaurant. Totally enjoyed EVERYTHING about the dinner out. Look forward to going back. Fabulous.
Excellent food, great drink list and a hip atmosphere. For a moment I forgot I was in a small town! A very welcome addition to our local dining scene. Already looking forward to going back!
Decent food but took an hour and a half to be served when the restaurant wasn't even busy. Very poor service, waiter kept forgetting my order and did not check up for drink refills during the entire dinner.
So good, never disappointed when we eat there. Love the whole experience. So grateful to have somewhere like this in Kimberley
Upbeat staff and amazing food and decor
Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation. Will definitely cross the country in a heartbeat to have my pallete pleased by this delicious food. Thanks Darcy and Neil
Best little secret in Kimberley
Oscar's Tour de France Meal was delicious. The service was excellent! Highly recommend!
We had a lovely, quiet dining experience with exceptional food. I had a beautiful cooked 4oz beef tenderloin and my husband had the beef stroganoff. They were both delicious! Our wine and dessert were great as well. The food was slow but guess what, we enjoyed a glass of wine, and lovely conversation while we waited... Lovely evening!
Absolutely fantastic as always. The flavor of the meal with the mix of herbs, spices and other ingredients is simply beyond description. I vote that the chef teaches cooking lessons! The waiter has the best sense of humor and his choice of music is fabulous ????
Good food, adult oriented, very expensive
Excellent made from scratch food. Different.
Went for Valentine's Day Brunch and had amazing Beef Tenderloin and Salmon Benedict. Food, Service and Atmosphere was wonderful, will definitely be back again!
Without a doubt, the best quality fare in the East Kootenay area. The food here is on par- if not better- than the food I’ve eaten at top rated restaurants in the Vancouver area or otherwise. This is not a place to go for a rushed dinner with your kids, this is where you go for a wine and dine experience with multiple courses and wine pairings. The wait for food may be longer than other restaurants at times, and for a very worthwhile reason, as each plate is made fresh from scratch to order. There’s no line cooks or teams on kitchen stations, it’s one chef fixing up every component of each plate himself, fresh to order, and made with an unbelievable amount of skill and technique. The decor is gorgeous, and Neil creates a warm and easy going atmosphere. I’ve never had food here that wasn’t perfectly cooked and delicious, and even ingredients I don’t usually care to eat have now been reintroduced to me as something I love. A well thought out menu with amazing food that’s always perfectly executed, I cannot praise this place enough. Below: scallops, tuna salad, (I believe pork chop), and then the prosciutto peach flatbread
Nice, quiet restaurant. The menu was limited as they ran out of some food. The service was good, although the waiter smelled of cigarettes which wasn’t so appealing. I would go back when their full menu is available.
Unique and delicious food in a cozy atmosphere
The Nest is a very intimate restaurant with an ever changing array of stellar food on the menu. The creative genius of the chef is nothing short of wizardry with the bartender and hostess bringing the most welcoming atmosphere.
A bit of a weird experience. Walking in we immediately felt like a burden to the staff even though the restaurant was open and empty. The food was good but the wait was disproportionately long, about 1h45m. Would like to go back to try it again but still unsure altogether.
Chef Darcy is one of the most inventive chef's I have ever seen!! The food is locally procured & the menu is based around seasonal products!! Unbelievably delicious & most imaginative finished products that will never fail to disappoint!! Neal is the front end of this business!! He is an extraordinary mixologist & excellent pairer of wines to accentuate your menu choices!! The ambiance is intimate & intriguing. Neal spins vinyl (yes actual vinyl) that adds to to the atmosphere & ambience!! Excellent place to wine & dine!! Ps the Sunday morning breakfast menu is excellent!! Love it!!
Walked in 2 hours before close, guy just looked at us and said " Nope, can't do it "
Great place. They really make dinner an event to be enjoyed.
Absolutely delightful experience. Very relaxing, good music at a quaint little venue. Excellent service and the food was delicious. Perfect size portions and beautifully presented. Thank you for accommodating my request of rice noodles...
Would not recommend it unless you want to spend your entire holiday sitting on the toilet. Was way over priced but i guess the food poisoning was free of charge. If the staff was any indication of the cleanliness of the kitchen then we should have known better. Anytime your server smells drunk its best to turn around and leave. We made a mistake. Perhaps our biggest mistake was trying another yuppie / tourist trap because that is what it appeared to be. Never again.
Not very good. Yuppie type place. Not the place to go if you are hungry. Maybe good for the trendies in some big city.
We celebrated our anniversary at The Nest last Wednesday. Great tunes (on vinyl), fantastic service and absolutely divine food. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
House made Kim chi and pho! Eclectic fusion menu and funky atmosphere. You can feel and taste the pride of ownership. Great place!
Amazing food, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. A great addition to the local food scene.
By far the best restaurant in the area! Highly recommended
Excellent food and even more excellent staff! Will be back again soon!
Excellent food, great and friendly service, intimate dining experience I'd go back time and again for!
This place makes killer good food. I went there for a Sunday brunch and had the sausage/fried green tomato eggs Benny. The fried green tomatoes are the bees knees and everything went together so well. We took home the confit duck for a meal for later and ended up eating it when we got home. Their coffee is also really good as well as their margaritas. Definitely will be back again!
My partner and I went to Kimberley for a date day, as we were talking to Bev from Zen Mountain Float and Wellness she highly recommended The Nest. We trusted her and so thankful that we did. Wow. Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. I had a Lamb Serloin, and it was incredible. Ryan had Pork and that was also phenomenal. It was the perfect way to wrap up our date day! We are so happy that we found The Nest and can’t wait to go back. We will be telling everyone about our great experience. Thank you!!! Nicole Smithurst
We walked in and the owner said “nope can’t do it” With 2 hours left till close. I will never be coming to marysville again, terrible experience 0/10.
Absolutely amazing, great food, superb service, everything is made in house. Recommend highly..
My partner and I enjoyed our evening at The Nest, especially since it was a Sunday night and we had the restaurant to ourselves. Starting off with cocktails, I had a caesar and my partner had the bee's knees. I could've done a bit more spice with the caesar, especially since it was served with a Sichuan salted rim, but it went down smoothly and I could have easily had more. The bees knees was too sweet for me, but my partner loved it. For appies we shared the scallops on crispy salmon skin. There was a good portion of scallops, the salmon skin was seasoned well, and I loved the texture of the avocado with the crispy skin. Following appies my partner had the sirloin steak for his entree, which was served on a bed of risotto. The risotto was nice but unremarkable. The steak was cooked well and seasoned well, but a bit too pricey. I think worth $40 maybe, but not $50. The side of creamy blue cheese it was served with did elevate the dish however. I ordered the salmon entree which was also served on top of risotto. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon. It was a very large piece of fish and the cracked pepper on top melted in with lemon crust. It was cooked all the way through, which I wasn't expecting, but I wouldn't have it any other way. There were some fried mushrooms as well, but they were a bit over-salted. My favourite part of the meal was dessert. We shared a piece of raspberry habanero cheesecake, and wow!!! This was easily one of the best slices of cheesecakes I've had, and I LOVE cheesecake. The cake had a perfect amount of spice that wasn't overpowering and it was served with a nutmeg flavoured whipped cream and a gingerbread flavoured Graham crust. I want more already.
Saturday night dinner was lovely and delicious as always! Thanks Guys.
Fabulous food.great service. Incredible homemade icecream. Loved the entire experience. Marjorie
My boyfriend and I went out for a date night here. I'd heard good things about this place, and I'd been wanting it check it out ever since we moved here. They have such an intimate and relaxed atmosphere going on and definitely a higher quality of food than what you expect to find in a small town. The bartender plays vinyl all night, and the drinks were fantastic. I think I ordered the "bee's knees" if I remember correctly. We made reservations but there was only two other tables sat, so it wasn't too loud or busy. Perfect for us. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time when you go, enjoy the company, the food is fantastic and worth the wait. We had midollo osseo (bone marrow) as an appetizer, and then my boyfriend got duck breast and I the gnocchi. The gnocchi were so soft and fluffy. We were so full afterwards but I couldn't pass up the bread pudding so I had it to go. Still tasted just as great at home as everything we had in the restaurant. I was so happy at the end of the night, everything was perfect, and I think we'll definitely be coming here again.
Food is awesome!!!!
Today was our fifth visit to this terrific place. Every single time it’s been amazing. Today was for brunch and it was stellar. The service and ambiance is incredible for such a small town. But the FOOD is fantastic. Every meal there is mouthwatering and flavorful with perfect portions and very unique ingredients. I cannot say enough about the Nest. We will continue to go as long as you are open. Thanks so very much. Coral Turner
Excellent
July 5, 2020 - had super meals and a lovely evening at The Nest. Really great menu and topped off with some very tasty drinky-poos.
Excellent food, great music!
The Nest is excellent. Food wise, this place can go toe for toe with some of the top restaurants in Calgary or Vancouver. I highly recommend stopping by the Nest if you are in the Kimberley/Cranbrook area. FYI - try their cheesecake. Their cheesecake was the best cheesecake I have ever had.
