Had one of the day specials, salmon sandwich with a cup of peanut soup. Both were very good. The soup is an iconic dish for Prairie Ink, I love it. Price is compatible with the food you get. We will be back
Good food, fast service and good ambience
Good service, good food and comfortable atmosphere.
Shared a Bison burger- was good. Had A London fog tea really liked it. They were busy so our server wasn't very attentive.
the beef tendon was great!!
I too enjoy this food.
Good food and friendly service. Their carrot cake is to die for! Also, the peanut soup is delicious if you're not allergic.
Good food, good company. Enjoyed the ambience.
Lovely menu and food was fresh, unique and prepared with heart.
We had a Valentine's day reservation. When we arrived, they told us the kitchen had closed. After speaking to a manager, he promised a gift certificate in the mail. Never came. Poor customer service!
Love the food and the calming environment. Perfect date place
The employees in the book store section were all wearing masks. But the employees in the restaurant (Prairie Ink) were not wearing masks. They should be - because it is almost impossible, if not impossible for servers to social distance from customers.
Best place in Grant Park to eat.
Good choice of food. Nice music and atmosphere.
Had a grilled cheese with cheeses & bacon & figs- yum!!!!! Love the Reader's reward card - discount in restaurant as well as in bookstore!!!
Good food, the staff is always so friendly. Lots of options for dietary needs.
Beautiful atmosphere with tasty food. Great place to read a new book
Attentive service. Good knowledge of menu items. Allowed our party to stay long after our meal was finished without being "nudged" into leaving before we were ready. An enjoyable experience!
I spend almost 40 bucks per person(with the dessert). Really nothing special. I definitely won't go anymore.
Been for lunch with my wife, good food, just have to wait for a table...
Great service and food. Love the atmosphere and live music on weekends.
Sometimes things are a bit inconsistent there, but on the whole it is a great restaurant and they'll alway make it right. They have a wide range of options, and the service is great.
great food great drinks and its in a book store
Best server Carlos. He only works on Saturdays though. It's a beautiful space with the majority of the dining area in a partial atrium. They have a number of vegan options which is great for when I go with my vegan friends. We did try the spaghetti squash and it was very good. The bison burger patty was enormous. They know how to make their food look fantastic and very instagramable. It came with a side. My friend chose soup but that was the only non memorable item. It wasn't bad, but everything else was amazing. The desserts are all made in house. Our picks were the salted caramel tart and the blueberry mousse cheesecake. Both were exceptionally tasty. I'm more into fruit but I found myself going for that caramel. It's very nicely done It's very convenient to have dinner or dessert there then head to the movie. (Or vice versa) Parking is available in a huge lot as it is part of the grant park shopping center, inside the McNally Robinson.
Food is always outstanding, service is never consistent. Updates: I've been disappointed more often than not the past visits Service is declining and food quality is slipping. It might be time for a change in venue
Best of best rest. In winnipeg. My wife love this. There are real food and service.
Awesome food and service. Great neighborhood restaurant. Just a little $$ but worth it.
Nice place for taking a friend out. It was nice I had their Salomon appetizer. The price a bit expensive for the service. Environment was awesome. Oooh it is inside a bookstore too. This book store is the only in Winnipeg. I would say the combination of the two make everything worth it for those like me that loves food and books.
Just a terrible place felt unwelcomed, understaffed
Good quality food, beautiful atmosphere with a modern and formal feel. Service is good and they occasionally have live music or small performance events that anyone can participate in. Prices are reasonable for a more gourmet food selection. Restaurant is right in the McNally Robinson Book store.
Mediocre service and a bit pricey.
Great eats
Very pleasant atmosphere and a creative menu. Food was delicious and well presented. We had Roasted Vegetable Sandwich, Margherita Pizza and a kids mac and cheese.....all were very good. A great place for lunch.
The food is good, although pricey. Service could be better. I called to reserve for my neighbour's 90th birthday tomorrow. No they don't take reservations during the day, which is acceptable, and no they don't do anything for the birthday girl as so many restaurants do, not to mention she wants to go to Prairie Ink because her son Koval is the artist who created the beautiful stained glass windows you see when you’re there. Whoever I spoke on the phone seemed uninterested in our special occasion, although suggested we come early before it became too busy. We will go anyway and enjoy the time spent together in celebration of her 90th milestone birthday.
The most pleasant atmosphere, awesome food, and great gluten free options (amazing cakes!)
Staff very rude to delivery drivers (DOOR DASH) My fellow DELIVERY DRIVERS I suggest you STEER CLEAR from this restaurant of you want to save yourself from a headache and rude snobby experience. Clicked arrived when I was walking in from parking lot had about 5-7 min to spare before actual pick up time. Came in with 5 min to spare for pick-up. All three staff members were behind the counter giving me a stare down like I just killed their cats. The woman behind the counter asked me why I clicked arrived when I wasn’t in front of the ‘actual restaurant’ (which located in the McNally Robinson Bookstore) and that it’s been a couple minutes when there was still a lot of time for pick-up on my app. Gave me crazy attitude and told me all of the drivers have been doing this all day? Oh how nice - so her frustration was taken out on me. The bookstore shares the same address as the restaurant if the driver arrives on location it’ll be when they get to the bookstore. Please specify in your instructions if you want the driver to NOT CONFIRM until they are right in FRONT OF YOU. Also, be mindful and know that we can’t just zoom into the building there’s a lot of foot and vehicle traffic in front of your bookstore (duh). Drivers are also human beings and we're getting YOUR food to the customer. Please be more respectful next time. I’ve eaten here before the food isn’t even that great. 3 out 5 at best. When you walk in there they act like it 529 Wellington ????what a joke.
Really good! Pancetta was fantastic!
Nice place to eat, good Service
Really good lunch spot!
Had a reservation in place requesting to have a booth and was told upon arrival that a larger table had booked the booths after receiving confirmation that we would have one. Kind of felt that our table of three wasn’t good enough. Food was alright. I wouldn’t order the Asian salad and probably wouldn’t go back or recommend. Much better places in the city.
Our service was exceptional as was the food. This is a great place as the food is all prepared from scratch. It is a must go!
Just grabbed a cappuccino to go it was good and the service was also good
Great tasting food, but the breakfast portions have shrunk dramatically over time.
The food is a little expensive but it's no surprise given the high quality of its locally sourced, and further well prepared food. You might even call it quasi- fine dining. I recommend coming here for the pleasant dining experience, as opposed to just grabbing a meal and running. It's set in what I would vaguely call a stereotypical "poet's" environment. The coffee is also superb.
As always, a great place. Went to celebrate my son's birthday, tuesday evening about 6:30. I was very surprised at how busy. Walking needed 20 to 30 minutes wait. By 7:30 it had cleared out though, so it was a real supper cloud Tried the potato and celery soup, which was really nice, good taste and nice texture, I had the little cup, about 6 oz, and would cheerfully had a full bowlful for supper but I was trying the wild mushroom ravioli as a main. That was really good. Nice portion and wonderful flavour. Highly recommended. I include some pictures of the pastry counter, all of it delicious, although a tad calorie rich I'm afraid
Good selection and tasty foods. Always save room for the tempting delectable desserts
Prairie Ink has a comfy friendly atmosphere...staff is awesome...the African peanut soup..( fortunately gluten free!) is delicious...and the Decadent Chocolate Cake is the best ever!!!! Also! It is right in the middle of my favorite things...books!!!
You get simple cooking but with unique tastes. Today was bison burger with blueberry sauce. Delicious!
Excelent food options and a great service!
Was there for Tea and cake, which were both good.
Great peanut soup! Fantastic character and service.
Update: ive changed my review as the food is just my favourite and well.....visiting so often im sure mistakes are bound to happen. The food and smoothies and treats they have are all so amazing! The setting is so pretty too! We have a favourite waitress there sadly cant remember her name. Thanks to the manger for the gift card because of past mistakes.
Such an amazing environment, open windows and a full book store attached. Their London fog is delicious. They have AWESOME peanut soup. & their Caesar salad is my favourite because they add cherry tomatoes and balsamic.. a new take that I am in love with! Always good service. I recommend!
I really love this place. Beautiful. Great location. Great food and I had the best carrot cake I’ve ever had in my life the other day. First time having it and I did take away. It came with this caramel type sauce that took it to the next level. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Went for lunch last week with my husband. I ordered the special barbequed chicken sandwich with salad. I asked what the salad dressing was. Poppyseed, which I asked to change it because it had too much sugar and I'm diabetic. The waitress got defensive, said it was honey, a natural sugar and there were dried cranberries. (JUST BECAUSE IT'S NATURAL DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT SUGAR). I told her I could pick around the cranberries and I ordered oil and vinegar dressing instead, she didn't hear diabetic otherwise the sweet sauce on the burger would have been questionable and I wouldn't have gotten balsamic vinegar (again, more sugar) and oil . The waitress got my husbands order wrong as well. I sent my order back and said "I can't eat this". The waitress came by and explained that she said she had told me about the barbeque chicken and I explained that I thought it was a rub. Our waitress came by a few more times to ask about my tea and his coffee but never about the untouched soup. We asked for our bill and at least she didn't charge us for either meal, just coffee and tea. My husband then went to talk to the manager. She also had no idea about natural sugars vs sweeteners or how poorly the staff (serving and kitchen) are educated on diabetic requirements. It's great that they are offering gluten free but there are a lot of diabetics out there and the menu doesn't show it.
An old Favourite spot, going to pop in again. Hope its still good!
Very authentic, we did not try the food yet but the coffee is good and the cakes are delicious.
We were there yesterday . Disapointing! I found hair on a piece of my greek salad and I was almost finished eating the salad. That made me gag a bit. As the waiter tried to remove my dish without asking me if I was finished I pointed out the black short hair sitting on the salad. I said I got a little extra in my salad. . He said sorry softly and walked away! He did offer to remedy this situation. Yes I am sorry too because we are not going back there. I know you are busy but there are alot restaurants in Winnipeg where there is no hair in their food.
Great atmosphere, awesome food and baked goods.
Great food was delicious. Great services. Atmosphere was good.
I have not been to this place in years , one can certainly tell corporate ownership has taken its toll , the staff apparently enjoys creating a false sense of elegance , declining people at the door, while tables sit empty It eventually just became easier to go to Applebee’s There is no elegance in emptiness , which it seems they have no shortage
Such a wonderful place. Usually have soup and salad. Now mostly scones, cakes and pastries. They have the only London fog in the city worth buying. Today purchased a lovely goat cheese and spinach scone.
Excellent carrot cake. Entertainment on Saturday night was excellent (jazz band)
Amazing food, a really good place for brunch.
Always delicious. And a great atmosphere amongst the books and natural light.
Beautiful place with delicious dishes, and kind waiter. Just the Margarita Cocktail was so salty.
What a lovely and local restaurant! Went for the first time and was not disappointed! The Bison burger was delicious and the girls loved their oval pizza!! Knowledge staff and very friendly!
Lunch
Overpriced and tasteless food. The only saving grace was the table service, I will not return.
The service was great, the food was great. It was worth stopping in.
My vegan burger was disappointing. Not even hot. And my latte was cold.
I went there on 11/30/18 and had a very unpleasant experience. My co-worker and I were having drinks after having finished dinner, wanted to order two additional glasses of wine and we were told rhat they could not aerve us anything else as there was a two hour time period allowed per table and they had a reservation for that table. We were literally shocked and were basically kicked out of the restaurant unexpectedly after consuming two meals and aeveral deinks. Firs Time ever that something like that has happened to me. Very uncomfortable. Would not go back or recommend.
Good food. Fresh bakery and Patisserie. Has some nights with live music. Romantic intimate setting at night. Coffee conversations during the day.
If you are looking for something special this it the place. It’s inside a big book store. The atmosphere is magic, background music, possible to seat outside too. I had such a good time didn’t want to leave. If you want a nice place to work or spent time with a friend or a couple that the place. Pair price good service the food is amazing.
The food and atmosphere is always top notch here! Prices are reasonable as well.
Hostess was rude
Tried the Norn cake, so delicious. Service was good.
Food is great. Love the atmosphere. Serving staff friendly.
Great food and staff.
It was great dessert and service. I strongly recommend this place.
Cool place to check out.
Food was good as was the presentation, but little pricy for the portion size. I had poached pear salmon, very small but good and my hubby had bison burger which he enjoyed. I asked for house salad instead of starch and veggies and I got this tiny little dessert size bowl of salad for my side. Hmmm...I'm sure for the price they could make the salad a little bigger. It was smaller than an average starter and the same for Hubby's soup (his side) and like my salad a little dessert size bowl was what he got. Imagine the starch and veggie option. "Here is you 1 mini carrot and your 4 rice grains. You're welcome" LOL
House salad large size very small and very bland
Gorgeous large windows of the outdoors with windowsill herbs. Highly recommend their dessert menu. Delicious treats, decadent cake and their espresso and Americano drinks are outstanding.
Great food and very classy restaurant!
Pretty tasteless chicken soup. Would not recommend. Lazy effort.
They have nice food
Such a great atmosphere to sit and plan or chat with friends! Carrot cake so good I didn't even take a picture ????
Staff not friendly and rushed not happy
The presentation and service was excellent. I liked the ambience. I ordered the French onion soup which I found to be a bit too salty for my liking and the chicken penne was way too creamy. I could not finish the dish.
Restaurant: The food is good and mostly fairly priced. Bakery counter UPDATE: cake slices are $9 for a 12th of cake, they used to be 50% bigger for the same price. Stay away from the macarons if you're not into snacking on drywall. Macarons are usually expensive because they can't keep fresh for long, but Prairie Ink seems to keep them as long as they aren't sold, which makes them inedible half the time. It is a shame that the bakery counter is so poorly managed, because the restaurant is a great spot with good food.
Lovely lovely beautiful place. Live music, lovely cakes And the best of all ..lovely staff
Wow that watermelon, cucumber feta salad was amazing ! What a great little spot
It's nice, they even have vegan options (:
The west African soup is the best soup I've ever had at a restaurant. I've been here many times and never had a disappointing meal. The servers are always friendly and the current covid protocols are in place.
Good food and service whether you want a meal or just a cup of coffee and dessert. Trendy, great for meeting up with friend or client.
Excellent lunch. Great clubhouse sandwich with real warm roasted chicken and excellent borscht.
Great breakfast. Perfect service. Well worth it.
Always a great experience and good food
Food was very good & service was also.
Cute as heck with cool food and you walk out into the bookstore after you're done eating. How cool is that
Always a great place to eat. Food is good. Service is A1.
Meal type
We had an oatmilk capacino and piece of pumpkin pie. Great environment, service and food.
We like the food here. The service can be great or average. They have live music on Fridays & Saturdays. & its usually great. Their deserts are not as great as it use to be. There's also not many varieties of pastries like it use to be.
Not gluten friendly My wife wanted to come to this restaurant because 95% of the menu states it is gluten friendly (Celiac Friendly). She ordered a pizza with a gluten free crust. Soon after she got very sick. I ordered a burger and it was extremely bland, but to be honest, that was the least of our concerns. I don't understand why this place gets such high reviews. It's overpriced, bland and claims to be gluten friendly when it isn't at all. Avoid if you are allergic to gluten. Update, July 6th: I don't see the need to call them. They were very unapologetic in their response anyway. If you're saying that you aren't a gluten free restaurant, why does 95% of your menu say CF (Celiac Friendly)? Are you just saying that to be trendy? Practice what you preach. All we know is it has been 3 days since we ate there and my wife is still sick. We are well aware of cross contamination. She has never gotten this sick from food being cross contaminated. We actually believe the gluten free crust to her pizza (that we paid for) was a normal crust seeing as how she is still sick. Avoid this place if you do have a gluten allergy. Their CF labels are meaningless.
the service was very good, the martinis great, the food what there was of it was ok, brisket of bison when i could find it great, a handfull of brocolli stir fry taste good and the apple pie there featire desert all crust and no apple, so brocolli and apple are cheap but really 14 dollars for very little food , had to go to the fridge later and eat, so I would not try again..Im not a glutton but I believe in a good meal for my hard earned dollar and there a plenty of restraunts asking for my biz sorry Lee
You always get a wonderful meal here.
Kids Mac and Cheese
I came to Prairie Ink last night. Sat down to have a London Fog and then place an order to take home. Staff are all smiles and super friendly; from the guy at the front post, who seated me, to my waitress. I ordered the African peanut soup, as well as the soup of the day, that was a beef vegetable and the curried spagetti squash. I enjoyed the peanut soup but did feel it was a bit gritty and lacking a touch of flavor. The soup of the day was very good, full of flavor and my favorite part was the spagetti squash dish. LOVED IT!! It was super flavorful, with tons of chunky veggies that has a nice crunch to it. I've been here once before and definitely would and will be coming back!
Not in our neighbourhood, so we like to buy a book, have lunch & if we can, see a movie. We love the peanut soup. We don't eat a lot of meat anymore but confess we used to enjoy their bison burger. - Lots of cakes and goodies to tempt your sweet cravings - The summer smoothies are lovely - a wine selection for those who imbibe - Service: Most servers are very attentive & friendly In Grant Park Mall - within McNally Robinson Books, east side Oh, and did I mention: BOOK STORE!!! Children's section is fabulous!!!!
Prairie Ink is a great place to meet with friends Their menu is versatile and appeals to all. If you have an allergy or intolerance, they work around it for most dishes. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. A relaxing place for conversation.
Prairie Ink has such a diverse menu including gluten free options and the staff are very friendly and efficient.
The service was good. The entertainment was pleasant. The house burger was overdone and came in a stale bun which was soggy on the bottom.
Truly unique. I love it and would recommend this restaurant to anyone along with a browse thru McNally Robinson. Can't ask for more than that.
This restaurant really impresses me every time. This last time I mentioned food restrictions and they did their best to propose options and modifications to dishes to ensure that I could still have an enjoyable night. Five stars all round!
Love the food and service
Service
We love the peanut soup. We don't eat a lot of meat anymore but confess we do enjoy their bison burger.
I went to have lunch this morning at Prairie Ink. Was waiting to get in. And the young woman who I assume was the hostess came out but didn’t knowledge me & walked back into the kitchen. At that point I walked away.Just FYI: have signed in under my husbands google account. I am sure that if I were him the server would have seated me faster. I say this because I have also noticed that when I go by myself (or with another female friend) to Prairie Ink I am usually seated at the tightest, most cramped table in the restaurant. When men in business suits are seated at larger tables near the window. I think this is the last time I’m coming to this restaurant.
Delicious food, excellent service, and great live music!!
We are regular customers of Prairie Ink in the McNally Robinson store in Saskatoon. Being in Winnipeg, we thought we would give the Prairie Ink there a try. The menu is different, the the type of cuisine is the same. If we lived in Winnipeg, we would be regular customers there just as we are in Saskatoon. Everything is light and refreshing. Menu has an interesting variety. Service is quick, friendly, efficient, and non-obtrusive. All good.
The food here is so good. I especially love the bergomot tarts for dessert
Had an African soup and house salad. The soup was ok, but kind of missing something. Maybe it needed some spice. It was very busy inside. Felt a bit cramped; there was a couple seated too close to me, and it made me uncomfortable. A little too pricey for a regular visit.
I love taking my wife here. The food and atmosphere are unmatched in Winnipeg. Unfortunately the prices are a little high. I'd still recommend it to anyone though.
Food and service was excellent. They were super accommodating for my food allergies and made it a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.
I was very disappointed this last visit. This was once a regular spot for us in the past but from inconsistent management and changing menus it has only gone downhill. Last Saturday, We called to make a reservation for that evening but was rudely informed by the hostess that they did would not do last minute reservations. She was unapologetic and short with us on the phone. When we arrived, we were stuffed in a corner and greeted by our unfriendly server. We ordered drinks, and was never offered a second. My teenaged daughters meal was brought out far enough in advance for her to finish by the time the other meals arrived. Our waitress rarely came by. I had to get up myself to bring the water glasses to the front to be filled. Even then the server did not come to check up on us. It was a night of repetitious errors and will not return or recommend again.
Delicious food!
Good service and fair menu with good desserts
Great food
I hadn't been there in years but was recently there and reminded of the fantastic food. Our server was great too. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
A favourite local spot!
Very good lunch selection. Great COVID protocals.
For special days, with live music, it's wonderful here! And just gotta say, LOTS of gluten free options. I had gluten free curry (delish) and gluten free quinoa lasagna. And played tunes with fabulous, wonderful tune players and the inestimable val on piano!
I can easily recommend this place to friends and family if they are seeking delicious brunch food on the weekends. Depending who your server is, you may have to wait a bit longer than other tables. However, the food and beverages here are very good. Try the french toast special. It changes every week we believe. It is a big portion, if you order it make sure you're hungry. well worth the price and eats you get on the plate. Bon a petite!
Great food.
We just had dessert and coffee. Both were great.
So, Prairie Ink has been around for ages and it’s located in McNally Robinson’s book store. I’ve gone here for a bite when I’ve hit up a movie at Landmark Theatres at Grant Park mall. The food here is decent but not mind-blowing … I’ve mostly ordered soups, salads and sandwiches. The desserts that I’ve ordered are ok but not amazing, though maybe it’s due to bad luck on account of the ones I chose to order. The place is looking a tad worn from all the years of use, but it sorts of works given that the restaurant has a history to it, being in the same location for decades. Prairie Ink has live music a couple of nights per week. The crowd that comes here is typically older (as with all of Grant Park) which I love because it’s quiet and laid back ;)
I love that it's nestled in behind McNally Robinsons because you can walk around and browse the bookstore while you wait for your table (they will call you over the PA system when it's ready). Their menu incorporates fresh local ingredients as much as possible, and our server was very friendly!
Amazing food, friendly staff, great price and wonderful atmosphere. Will be back.
Cozy and refreshing
Pleasant staff, interesting menu, well prepared food, and a beguiling dessert case.
Wish they served breakfast everyday.
Cozy and welcoming place, inside McNally Robinson. Small althougg thoughtful menu. Had the Prairie Ink Breakfast which was very filling and delicious- especially the hashbrowns! Will definitely coming back for one of their live music nights!
My wife and I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we really enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and polite. I had an absolutely wonderful cup of coffee and French onion soup. My soup was hot and delicious with absolutely no shortage of cheese or croutons. My wife had a soup sandwich combo and both were delicious as well. Price wise everything seemed to be reasonable except maybe the key lime pie. I felt $7.00 was a little bit expensive for a tiny slice of pie. Overall though we enjoyed our meal and will come back again. I am tempted to come back for the coffee and one of the deserts.
Great place to grab a light lunch or dinner. Menu size is a bit small; that being said the featured items are delicious !
Fantastic service! Delicious & creative menu!
I love the gluten free options at prairie ink and the desserts are so delightful too! Service is usually top notch, even when they are busy. Try their green smoothie. It is seriously the BEST smoothie I’ve ever had! Plus the menu items have puny book related names, so it’s pretty cool in my books. I could go on. This is one of my favourite places to eat in the city.
Good food but the staff is awful very rude not what it used to be
Recently went here for lunch with my boyfriend on a Sunday. Though I was grateful that they found a non reserved spot for us during a moderately busy lunch time, it was in a cramped corner at a small table. I would have preferred they have us wait for the next spot since there was no one after us waiting. The restaurant seemed bright and cheerful but we didn't get to enjoy it being in the corner. My boyfriend had the beef noodle bowl, which he said was good but not great. I had the peanut soup and salmon sandwich with the mango salsa on the side. The sandwich flavours were good but I was disappointed with the portion of salmon. The salsa was slightly sweet but bland, it lacked an acid like lemon or lime, and needed a pinch of salt. I ended up adding it to the soup to help improve the soup's taste. For dessert, we had a slice of chocolate fudge cake which was surprising not great. It had the fudge part right but lacked a good chocolate flavour. I'd probably go back, I'd just try completely different things.
I really enjoy this cafe. The food is always fresh and service is always friendly. They have a varied enough menu to suit many different dietary needs (vegan/celiac), which is appreciated. Desserts are always nice and brightly decorated. The espresso drinks are good, but the coffee isn’t great (better to go with tea or specialty espresso drink). Fined amid Covid and their policies and procedures are on point—including separate entrance and exit. They also have a patio to accommodate open air dining needs. Suggest.
Small portions for the prices.
It was good. Way overpriced.
Food was great and the place was clean
Dine in
I'm very shy but the staff are very welcoming and polite, this place has an amazing atmosphere to it, and I think everyone should visit atleast once even if theyre only meeting a friend for coffee.
We have always enjoyed Prairie Ink Restaurant at McNally Robinson, Grant Park. Recently, I had the egg salad sandwich with a side cup of beet borscht. The soup was hot and rich in flavor. The egg salad sandwich was delicious. Something I don't make at home is always nice to enjoy in a restaurant. Prairie Ink has an amazing dessert menu. I had a wonderful raspberry almond tart that was superb. A great meal at a favourite neighbourhood spot. What could be better?
(Translated) Thanks k (Original) Merci k
The service was good the pastries are excellence at a relatively reasonable price coffee was good
Love to take the grandchildren here for books and snacks
The best pastries in Winnipeg. The peanut soup is fantastic too!
Food is good specially the French Onion Soup!
Good food with great entertainment. Although I asked for vegetarian option for the special which was, some kind of shrimp Alfredo dish. For some reason ppl think that means load it with tons of random vegetables. It was "meh". But I would definitely return for lunch or dessert
One of my favourite spots. Great eats, coffee and dessert, and the restaurant is bright and cozy. The servers are quick on their feet and nice too. Its often quite busy but that's a good sign!
Great food. French pie is my favourite there. Good selection of desserts. Like to come here for lunches. Dinner time it can get quite loud and busy here. The last couple times wasn’t impressed with the staff. Asked for a window seating, that were all available. Waitress wouldn’t seat us there because it’s not her zone. First put us near the entrance, asked for a window table, she moved us closer to the mid of the room (the entire room was empty except one table), we said we want the window table, she made a face (I don’t think she even tried to hide it) and moved us. The other waitress took over. The other time we had lunch there waiter seemed to rush us. We finished our lunch, just drinking tea and enjoying conversation. He came over at least 4 times after we’ve finished the meal, brought the bill, which we didn’t ask and kept circling around. I get it that place was starting getting busy, but how is that my problem? I came not for an express lunch and definitely didn’t pay for express one.
My fiance got a carrot cake here and it is the best I've ever had!
I just love the Hail Caesar salad and the Roasted Red Pepper soup!!!!
What a cool spot for great food. I love going to McNally Robinson and have only been there a few times. My experience with service is spectacular every visit and there food is very fairly priced. Worth a visit, especially if you're already at McNally.
Best macaroons in Winnipeg
Great food and atmosphere. Delicious Americano!
Tried to get a burger for Burger week. Restaurant closes at 7, arrived at 6 and was informed the kitchen closes at 6. What kind of restaurant closes the kitchen an HOUR before their closing time...?! Either extend your kitchen hours or change your posted hours. Don't bother going if you're not going early I guess.
Amazing food and service.
Enjoy the food and atmosphere. This wasn't my first visit here, but had a slight problem. The coffee (which has always been top notch) was weak, no flavor. Our waitress checked - made a new pot - tried again, but still the same. She admitted it looked pretty "clear". She spoke to the manager and was told "no one else has complained". I'm sorry, but if I'm paying $3.00 for a cup of coffee, colored water doesn't cut it. Thank goodness McDonald's was close as we picked up "real coffee" - for $1.00.
Very delicious food, but is menu is a tad expensive.
everything is so delicious (especially the peanut soup and the bison burger!). Beautiful desserts, and the atmosphere is relaxing.
Salmon special was incredible, squash curry dish could use more curry. Everything was cooked very well and the mussels were prefect too
Unique little cafe/restaurant with a variety of locally inspired foods and an interesting and cozy atmosphere
Was told they had good eggs benny but they were a huge dissapointment. I even asked for them to be soft poached but they came with yolks hard as a rock and thier hollandaise sauce was bland and ordinary. Thats what you get when u go somewhere that focuses on buffet food
I always enjoy this restaurant. The food is great and staff friendly.
