Lots of food at a reasonable price. The staff here are incredibly friendly and don't rush you. After we finished eating and were talking for about an hour they brought us glasses of water, and when we said "oh, we should leave" they told us no rush, stay and enjoy! Went to Joy for the first time today to try some Israeli eats (specifically falafel) which I was beyond eager to indulge in. To say the least, I am beyond satisfied. At 12:30 PM, I was welcomed with countless smiles and subtle music; overall a very comfortable and warm atmosphere. The design of the shop is narrow, cozy and accentuates the sensation of a coffee shop with a satisfying ambience. The falafel is fresh, crisp on the outside and warm in the middle. Combined with a variety of flavours and extra tahini, I was brought back to the flavours of Israel. Exceptional and filling! To compliment I had a tasty cappuccino which prepared me to seize the day ahead. Joy is a wonderful place to start off your day; a place to relax and energize. I will definitely be back soon and bring my favourite people along with me to experience what I have today. The best of vibes.

We had breakfast at this cafe a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful experience. The food was great and the owner so welcoming. My daughter wanted to see how he made lattes and he actually let her make one. We wanted a cultural food experience and this was above our expectations. The portions were large and delicious! If we make it back to Winnipeg again we will definitely be returning!

A 5 star rating doesn’t do justice to this cafe. The food offered by Joy Coffee Bar is a welcome change to the typical Canadian breakfast. The owner has brought the best that Israel cafe culture has to offer to Winnipeg. The homemade hummus and dips make for a delicious and satisfying breakfast. Loved the green shakshuka. Will be back!

Incredible food and coffee! the coffee is the best I've tried in the city , and the atmosphere is relaxing and beautifull. Not many places in the city offer such fresh food with unique spices like this one . Strongly recommend the tuna sandwich , the dushbara , which is a sort of stuffed pastry . and the Boom salad. Truly an amazing hidden jem in charleswood !! Will definitely go back and bring friends !

First place out since ... a long time. Called ahead about vaccine passports and got a very guarded yes to checking and yes to masking. Upon arrival the guy running the shop made a point of checking before we could place an order, again a bit guarded. Made a point of reassuring him we were quite happy to show our status and appreciated that he was actively providing us a safe environment to have a bit of a break. He seemed to cheer up at that. Interesting casual sort of a place. A bit of outside sitting, a bit more indoor seating. Fairly basic but nicely designed and implemented. A very comfortable ambiance. There are some nice wood carvings on the wall, they are worth a look while you are waiting to order or while your food is being preped. We ordered a green shaksuka, an egg dish from the middle east, and a plate of Falafel and humus. Along with, to me, fancy coffees. Everything came quickly, was hot, went well with the coffee and was delicious. About $15.00 each. I would cheerfully go back, and probably will as a couple of my kids are vegetarian so this would be a great place to have a coffee and nosh with them.

Joy Coffee Bar attended our South Osborne Farmers' Market as a vendor this summer. Their friendly service and quality coffee was a perfect addition to the market. It was incredible watching Alex and his family expertly set up their attractive, rustic, professional, full-service mobile coffee unit (did we mentioned it was fully equipped with two espresso machines!?) One of our favourite activities was watching customers choose what to buy because everything looked (and tasted) so good!

New place in the neighborhood. Went for breakfast for 2. Mediocre at best. Lacked flavour. I could have made this better at home. Kids meal was overcooked pasta. Cappuccino was tasty. Service was rushed and not friendly. For a new place in the neighborhood I would expect to be greeted like my presence was welcome. The decor was great, bright, light and fun. Unfortunately everything else was not.

I wish I could say I planned to visit the Joy Coffee Bar. I actually found myself in the neighborhood, flustered, unsure of what I was going to do next and fairly hot. The JCB looked like a nice place to stop and think about what I would do next. When I walked in, two small children were sitting on questions besides a small table. There were many other people in the place and I could not tell how many languages I was hearing. When the owner asked me what I would like, I explained that I was needing a break to think about what to do next. He was very kind to me. I couldn’t afford to eat because I had no money at all except for $1.90. He gave me a Coca-Cola. My first impression is that the JCB is a fashionable restaurant and that there were many happy customers. They even have a beautiful bathroom, the nicest I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. I look forward to going there again when I have more than $1.90. Thanks, Alex! You made a really tough afternoon a lot better.

Came here for lunch with a friend today. The food was delicious, and also great service! They had freshly-squeezed apple juice, which isn’t common these days ... it was so pure, like drinking juice straight out of the apple. For food, we ordered waffles (savoury waffles, topped with with eggs, salmon and olives) and also green shakshuka (with spinach instead of tomatoes), and everything was very tasty and fresh (including warm bread in the side). I felt like I was at the Mediterranean! I would definitely come back here to try the other menu items!

Joy Coffee Bar has been on my list of places to try for a while. I’m now wishing I got there sooner. Service was excellent with helpful suggestions of the most popular items once known we were new. Our group of 3 each picked one of the customer favourites - Norwegian Waffles, Tunisian Sandwich and Shakshuka (with hummus and falafels). The food was excellent. Every one of us loved our lunch choice and the food was delivered quickly. We’ll definitely be back to support this Charleswood gem.

First time visiting family in Canada since covid, and discovered this little gem in the neighborhood. Excellent light roasted coffee and fabulous middle eastern food. With family from Lebanon and lots of amazing middle eastern food nearby our home in Michigan, our standards are extremely high. And no exaggeration, Joy Coffee Bar blew our expectations away. IMHO this is the best restaurant around.

The humlafel (pictured) was amazing! Fresh house-baked fluffy pita. And a perfect soft boiled egg that ooooozed out rich yellow yolk after I cut it. Highly recommend!
