Good cheap meals

The worst restaurant. We read some online reviews and went there for breakfast on July 2nd, 2016, thinking it was the best breakfast available in Kenora. Don't ever visit this place if you are hungry. Because all they do is chat among themselves, not even bothering about the customers. There was a sign asking to seat ourselves and not to wait for the staff to be seated. So we sat at a table, almost at the center of the restaurant, so there is not even a slight chance of the staff missing us. We waited for almost 20 minutes, while the staff (3 of them as far I can see) were cheerily chatting among themselves, ignoring us and definitely 2 more people, and probably more, who came in almost at the same time as we did. We got fed up and left because we went there to eat something, not stare at the tables and other people around us. Talking to other customers and chatting with them, I can understand because you want to make your customers welcome. But this is downright insulting and by far the worst way of doing business.

Went for lunch and it was so fast. I ordered a hot hamburger which was not the special but arrive quickly. The place seemed close to full so that was a unexpected.

The experience here yes I made a very uncomfortable when the blonde waitress verbally attacked us for not having our q card for our senior members on our phone. Luckily I had a smartphone and was able to download. We understand this is a government regulation but some compassion and the embarrassment was not necessary considering these people come here on a daily basis and provide business. Shame on you for treating your customers this way especially during these hard times not everybody owns a smartphone. I certainly hope the management will talk to their staff about some professional etiquette and some friendliness.

A little pricey but definitely a good spot to eat while in Kenora if you're looking to avoid fast food. The staff are very welcoming and ensured our food was tasty! My burger was around 14$ and my GF got a steak sandwich for around 16$. Decent food, but the service makes up for it. 7/10

Yesterday's restaurant, July 11/19 2:30 The food was good but some of the staff were more concerned with their private conversation than serving thier customer. The waitress "tending" to me saw me several times while walking by, starring at her expectantly with an empty plate. The restaurant was practically empty and she was more concerned with the conversation with her coworker than doing her job. This is not the first time this employee has done this.

Amazing ! Best restaurant i have been to throughout a lot of restaurants we have tried over the last few weeks. The waitress (small blonde girl) she was on point and very prompt. Food was absolutely amazing. Served hot, big portions and good flavour. The price is the best part, 2 can dine for $40 which is by far the cheapest meal we have had in Kenora. I give this place a 10 out of 10! The vibe is very good in there, not too loud and just an amazing crew who you can tell love being at their job! We will be back!

Lake if the woods brew pub. I believe that is what it's called. We were in kenora for 2 days and drove past it a dozen times... When it was open ot was always hopin... Check out the menu online before hand... Menu items looked great...we decoded to check it out. It was amazing...food tasted just like the pictures looked...sooo good. People watching was great all sorts of characters...you could tell they were not locals...locals just look different in kenora Ribs were standard...a tad over cooked but that Is typical for restaurant when you order a combo meat platter. Drinks were great 20 different beers...caesar special was good...larger tumbler with bean lime pickles olive. They really go all out here. Server was nice/pleasant

My husband and I were traveling to Manitoba from Toronto with our three children who have ASD and wanted to sit down but not wait too long for food as that can turn into meltdowns. I looked at the reviews from google and, most said the service was fast and also good food. I can say yes to both and the server was awesome as well. The kiddos and my husband and I all approve and would recommend:)

Stopped for breakfast passing through town. We ordered french toast and blueberry pancakes. Could have easily split one meal. Excellent food, very generous portions. Good coffee. Very clean. Prompt, attentive, friendly waitress.

Quintessential Canadian breakfast with generous portions. Great home-fries/hash. Really. Very, very good. Eggs and sausage were delicious. Makes me want to live in Kenora. Next time I pass through I will definitely visit Yesterday's and their friendly staff. Very charming.

I'm only rating this because of the bad service that I experienced this morning. We stayed at the hotel and decided to have something to eat before heading back home. Walked into the restaurant and noticed it was busy and seen an empty table. The table was dirty yes, and it did say"please seat yourself". Before sitting down I asked the server if it was ok if my son and I sat there. She only said "breakfast is over we aren't serving breakfast only lunch". She repeated herself as I sat down. I said ok. We sat for 10 minutes and she finally came and tossed her dirty rag on the table and said I'll try be with you we are really short staffed. She did not clean our table. She just left her dirty rag on the table and walked away. I looked around and watched the other server who was serving on the other side who was also busy..she had more tables and was very pleasant to her customers. My son and I got up and left. I will not be back because of this one waitresses rude and unprofessional behavior.

Despite the Covid issues, Yesterdays was open for pickup and adhered to the procedures set out in an exacting manner. As always the food is excellent and hot when I made it back home. The staff advised the restaurant was opening up on Tuesday July 21 2020 to half seating. (Addendum: Came for breakfast Tuesday morning and had an excellent meal. I had pancakes and crispy bacon while my buddy had eggs over easy, bacon and toast. With milk and coffee we just cracked the $30 ceiling. Pretty good for two big guys.)

This place has always been a gathering spot for residents of Kenora and surrounding areas, a simple restaurant with good food and good people. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, just what a person needs after a long day. I would recommend Yesterday's for lunch or dinner to anyone who asks.

My daughter has breakfast and I had salad. The food was very good. We had to ask the waitress for more coffee oh, it was not crowded for the amount of staff they had on. We also had to put our jackets on before we were asked if we wanted our bill. We usually have very good service there, it could have been the waitresses off day.
