This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Brewery.
We've travelled from Peterborough to Kenora by car and this is the best pizza we've had along route.
Very good service.
Fantastic beer. Hours on Google reflect the bottle shop not the restaurant/bar. Check Instagram for hours of the restaurant/bar. Not opened on Sundays:(
Couple growlers to fill. Need better customer lineup direction indicators. Great beer though!
Terrible service, over an hour wait for our food. Didn't fill our drinks. Had to flag down someone to get our bill. Very disappointing. Food wasn't very good at.
My goodness! This was a seriously satisfying lunch! Amazing battered Walleye and Firehall Fries. Service was terrific. Can't wait to come back!
Just passing through, was excited to try some new craft beers. We ordered two flights and were unimpressed for the following reasons: - We asked for a list that describes the different beers, and were told to check out the chalkboard. After ordering, we found the list that described the beers and gave more than just the name. - The flight boards weren't clean and were covered in sticky, spilt beer. Gross (come on, how hard is it to wipe down a wooden board). - 5oz glasses weren't fully filled. - Usually when you order a flight, you pick what you would like and the bartender arranges it in the order which is best for tasting (lightest to darkest). We dont know your beer, the bartender should give it to you in the best order, and be passionate about the different beers. - The experience was sloppy overall, which is a disappointment because the actual beer is great. - No staff asked if we were doing okay or enjoying the flights. Overall, the experience would have been 1 star, but the beer was tasty, menu diverse, and the setting interesting.
Fabulous selection of beer and their new menu is really good.
(Translated) Very good (Original) Muito bom
I expected to come in, have some lunch and maybe do a tasting flight since I'm not familiar with their beer. But had kind of a disappointing experience. Two stars for food and atmosphere. Came at lunch, which I understand is a busy time and all but when I asked if they had room to seat one the hostesses looked at me like I had three noses. I said I don't mind waiting, and they just kind of stood there not knowing what to do with me but also not looking to see if they had room at the bar or something, just saying they had tables of three or four waiting ahead of me but also not offering for me to wait (which I would have happily done). One of them eventually took me to the second floor bar and I asked the bartender to see a list of what beer they were serving. They didn't have a list with descriptions, which seems odd for a brewery wanting to sell their own brews. I was offered only three kinds that they had on tap on the second floor, just names... no descriptions. No idea what was in them. Three people working there and I felt like an inconvenience just for wanting to know what I was ordering. Eventually they slapped down in front of me a hand written list of names on a piece of paper, still just names...so I asked for them to come back to me when they had a moment to explain them to me. Finally one of the bartenders came back and riffed them off super fast. Apparently there were more than three but the rest were served downstairs and I guess they didn't want to have to go downstairs during such a busy time of day so they weren't offered to me right off the bat. Watched other customers come in and only be offered the three options. Later, I went into the store to see what they had so I could take some away with me. Everything is behind the counter in a cooler, or in back...hard to see what's available. Again... She couldn't show me a list anywhere and was a little impatient because there were people waiting behind me to pay for merch. Left empty handed.
Good food, friendly service. We always enjoy eating here.
I have been there many times, and have enjoyed it every visit. The brewery is a great local restaurant and pub, I definitely recommend it!
Love the atmosphere! Great service and delicious food. I will definitely return!
The food took 50 min to come out...
One of my favorite breweries! Always has great food and beautiful patio. Beer never disappoints and great gift shop!
Not an evaluation of the food or experience but rather a cautionary tale about their customer service based on my experience. Messaged ahead to confirm that dogs were allowed on their patio. Arrived 30 ish mins later to find out that while true, their patio was closed. After some discussion with their host, they offered some cans of beer by way of an apology - not being from Ontario, I asked if I could legally then on the street (and how) but the host couldn't answer my concern, just saying that the manager said it was alright but wasn't sure himself what the rules were. My advice, if you have any accomodations or special requirements, be very clear when clarifying them as they won't go the extra mile to think through all aspects.
We have been to the brewing company many times while visiting Kenora however today's service was terrible! We waited over 10 mins for a drink refill, the server walked by our empty glasses and/or kept her back turned to us while assisting customers at tables next to us never turning towards us to ask if we needed refills. Finally we asked for refills when another person dropped off our food. We spoke to a manager and our server came over to apologize saying it wouldn't happen again and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for waters only to wait another 10 mins before she came back to check on us so we asked for the waters we had already asked for. Food was good but service extremely lacklustre. Would have stayed for more of the great drinks if we'd actually been taken care of. Got our bill and extremely disappointed to see nothing was discounted for our the extreme lack of service we received! Hope that next time we come, if we come back, that the service is more up to the previous standards we came to expect at Lake of the Woods Brewing Company.
GreT food, fantastic beer!
I had such a great time out!!
We went here last night with our family after a long day of hockey, and had to wait almost two hours to get our food. The waiter kept saying it would be ready in 10 minutes but obviously that did not happen they kept trying to keep us waiting with excuses. When the food did come the brisket was very dry and rubbery the wings that we ordered were overcooked. It was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant.Would give this a 0 if I could. Definitely not recommend this place
Hands down Lindsay (sp?) Made an incredible meal a complete experience! Apologetic staff for being short staffed, but service was quick and friendly! Apps arrived hot, with pizza shortly behind! Can't wait to come visit again!
service very slow, entertainment was excellent!
Been here a few times but first time having a meal. I got the blue kayak burger with fries and house made potato chips and dip. The fries are delicious wish they were crispier but that's just a preference the burger was solid like the blue cheese but burger was a bit overcooked. As for the beer they have some really good ones like the sorrow and glory delicious smoked red ale.
If you're ever in Kenora, this is a MUST for any craft beer lover... and be sure to stay for dinner as well. Great beer, reasonable prices and do yourself a favour and get an order of the cauliflower "wings" to start your meal, so good!
The best.
Really enjoyed my beer and sitting on the patio. Food was very good and filling.
Great beer. Food almost as good. Service is sweet but not always the best. I love it anyways.
Lovely private cabin. Clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return trip next year.
Terrible value on the appetizers! DO NOT ORDER THE APPETIZERS. (2 deep fried pickles cut into 6 pieces and 4 bacon sliders containing a total of one-and-a-half slices of over-cooked bacon cost $40?!) Bar tenders are great, friendly and smart.. Managers are insultingly condescending! Beers are terrific.
Amazing character to be found within the staff and building itself. Its all bundled together to produce a very casual and enjoyable atmosphere. Best burger I've ever tasted, the Kevin Bacon is a must try ;) if your visiting Kenora, you don't wana miss out on The brewing company.
Amazing restaurant. The food is amazing and healthy. My order was also messed up and the waiter noticed right away and was super nice about it. Also the portions are a great size for the price! Amazing vibes as well, a lot of young people hang out here.
Great food and beer. We went on a Tuesday evening when the place was not especially busy. The service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. It's great to have such gem of a restaurant and craft brewery in our little town. (My favorite is the Big Timber IPA - it has a bold hoppy taste that is certainly not for everyone.)
Everything was just...fine. Food was above average in taste and plating, and wait staff pleasant. I tried four beers (flight) across the spectrum. Just send like drinkable beer. Nothing about them was special, other then the rye and ginger beer which was different, but not for me. Our visit took way too long. Twenty minutes to get in, Thirty to order, and hour wait for food that wasn't worth the wait. Then another decent amount of time to pay. The restaurant was more than half empty by the time we were able to leave. We spent nearly 2.5hrs on a Tuesday evening. There was great patio weather which maybe that explains it, but the experience was ruined for me. Sadly, I see the wait times as a common complaint.
Our favourite place on Kenora
Worth the wait: If you’re in a hurry on a busy Saturday evening, you might be disappointed. But if you don’t mind some time to socialize and take in the sights and sounds while you’re meal’s being prepared then you’re in for a treat. The food was full of flavour - mouth watering. I’m rating it 4 out of 5 because the experience would have been better if our server was able to check on us a bit more frequently to top up our drinks.
Gigantic poutine, great service, good beers!
Food was amazing, beer was delicious, and service was great!! Absolutely loved this place!
Great food, great beer!
Great beer, good food, good service. Busy at night.
Delicious food and an impressive selection of house-brewed beers in the heart of lake country. Friendly staff!
had to wait for over an hour to even get service, really frustrating experience. food is about 3/10 anyway. DONT EAT HERE. Better off going to McDicks
Great food and atmosphere. Hands down you best option for casual food and drink in Kenora. If you can’t make it to the brewery at lest pick a up pack of the premium bubbly export the rest of canada can enjoys they even have a beer made with NWO blue Berry’s
Wow that's an expensive beer! Not worth it. You pay for the marketing it seems. And they don't sell single cans in the store.
The food is always phenomenal, whatever you choose!! There are always new flavours of beer to test out, I love the seasonals (and their cute names)! The staff are always so nice, and super entertaining!! It's honestly just a great atmosphere to try something new, kick back with friends, and relax!
Excellent food and atmosphere.
Wicked location in Kenora in the old fire hall. My favorite thing about their beer is that they're not afraid to think outside the box with new recipes. They knock it out of the park with every new seasonal they produce in addition to having a solid core of products. 10/10
The location was okay with some/limited parking space near the location. The drinks were good but unfortunately we didn’t like the chicken wings. It was Wednesday so we got the wing special 1+1. We got the boneless type but it was almost like fancy chicken nuggets? It was very very greasy. The Wednesday chicken wing deal is great but if I were to order this on a regular day, I would never get it. (Small amount for the price. Half the amount of the photo that I posted).
Roadtrip. We stop for a quick beer there. Servers were fast and a beer was delicious. This place definitely has a spirit. Nice beer, friendly service, convenient location, venue has a very thought through design. Good place for a quick beer or for a night out with friends. Really stands out in Kenora.
Great location and atmosphere. Came here two days in a row, first day for nachos and beer which were excellent (although nachos could have used more cheese in the layers). Second day I had their burger which was awesome. Their fries are surprisingly poor considering they advertise them as "bottomless". My guess is they don't get too many people asking for refills. All in all though, I will be back! Beer is great and brewed locally.
Incredible atmosphere that thoughtfully melds vintage fire hall with rustic chic. There's personality and charm to spare. Great (but tight) patio to watch the hustle-bustle of this lovely resort town; but even if you have to sit inside, the large garage doors help bring a bit of the patio feel deeper into the room. Great pub-style food offerings; and family-friendly (which is a key feature when we travel and I want to incorporate breweries into the trip). Beer selection spans accessible to "out there", which I'm sure is appreciated by the relative newcomer to craft. Price is on par with what you would expect for a gastro-pub; we felt good value for money. There is an attached, and easy to access, brewery retail store with some great swag and well-stocked (we've been ahead of, and during a long weekend) with the crowd pleaser beers from their lineup available in growler or tall can. The swag is nice and we think is the "must have" souvenir from a visit to Kenora and Lake of the Woods.
Amazing atmosphere and surprisingly great food (and not to mention the incredible beer). I'll definitely be going back when I get the chance.
Very good pub food. Our favorite restaurant in Kenora.
Service was good , decent craft beer, however when it comes to food we were really let down... saw a few orders of fish and chips go out to other tables and looked amazing so we had to orders at our table. Ours came as hotdog sized fish sticks that were in the dryer oil for at least 3-5 min too long, there was 2x's as much batter as fish and the fish that was in there was chewy from being over cooked/under a heat lamp for too long. When we told the waitress it was not at all what we expected she apologized brought it back and they added one more tiny pc of fish to the one order and she didn't notice the other plate that had the same disappointing food on it. We ate what we could of it. Then my wife ordered the firehouse fries (fries, cheese, bacon aioli, and jalapeños) asked for no peppers and they came with peppers so they brought us a new plate but this time only fries drenched in aioli , no cheese on the cheese fries.... kitchen staff really let us down here. Got the bills and everything was full menu price which is ok cause that's what we ordered but what was one the menu and what we got was very different.... pretty dissapointed. What made matters worse as we were leaving the waitress brought another table an order of fish and chips and the fries were literally falling off the plate there was so many and fish looked nice golden brown, and they had more fish in one of their 2 pcs then all three of ours combined! Great atmosphere and beer but food was not worth the overpriced menu
Best deep fried pickles I've ever had. Staff are friendly. Beer is delicious.
I went around 4:30 for a late lunch and had the mac& cheese for adults and an icetea exept there was soooooo many flies around me it kinda bugged the life out of me while I was trying to eat.
The food was good the drinks where better and having fun on vacation with my friends was the best.
Really great place in Kenora! Great food and the beer selections are very unique. They also sell their beer next to the pub. Great options for vegetarians and a couple of vegan options as well. Would highly recommend this place.
Beer is very okay tasting. No boundary pushing here. The location has the feel of a restaurant chain, which seems to appeal to the local cottage crowd. Food is decent but slightly overpriced. Service was excellent!
Amazing beer, food, and atmosphere!
It was ok. Amazing atmosphere, beer was great. Food was cold, not very flavorful, and fries were clearly old and possible even reheated. Better last time I was there. Great to go for a drink.
Awesome food, even better beer. Staff are happy and always slingin' good beer! Just don't order a Bud Light or you'll get sideways looks... and you should for wanting to drink Bud light at a brewery with beer as amazing as this place!
Always fantastic
Cold drinks, good food, great service, clean....what else do you want?
Love Brew Pub! They brew their own beer on location, sell it on tap (you can only get their beer here) they also have off-sales of their brewed beer here as well. The food is delicious and you get a large portion size for the money. It's a very trendy and always bustling place. Have a stop in their store for some awesome one of a kind merchandise!
Great beer, great food!
Great place for a beer or ten! Plenty of tvs to watch the day's sports and plenty of space for big groups.
This place was recommended to us by a local, and she was right! They have a huge selection of very interesting beer, not limited to their own production. Food was plentiful and very good, and the service was first rate. It is a little out of the way, if you are just transiting between cities as we were, but it was well worth the side trip to get here!
Best Brewery In this part of the world
Always enjoy this place, great food and good beer selection.
Great food, great beer, great ceasars. Doing a great job through the pandemic challenges.
5 stars, never been tho, pretty boi eric needs a raise to finish his collection of actions figures
* Star based on previous visits We arrived at noon on Sunday hoping for a nice lunch before we headed home from the cabin. At the same time we saw two other families trying to eat here too. I get you need days off but what about Monday and Tuesday? We would much rather support a local business than a chain restaurant. There was one local restaurant that was open on Sunday but they were packed. This seems to be a common practice with Kenora businesses, but it boggles my mind that shops and restaurants would be closed on Sundays in the summer when tourists are here. If you really want to recover from loss of business from COVID.. open Kenora on Sunday!
Very neat environment and unreal food as well as tasty beer. Oh and can't forget great. And one more. They almost let a dog in. Which would have been amazing. Gotta give them those boops
Great atmosphere and patio. Came here all the way from Winnipeg mb
My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner/bachelor/bachelorette party there on a Friday night and had an awesome experience! The supervisor we worked with (Bethan) to make all the arrangements was amazing and easy to work with. The servers on that night were superb, the whisky room was perfect, and the bathrooms were sparkling!
Great place to drink and eat! They make their own beer with a variety to different types. The food is excellent. Whenever I am in Kenora I go there.
Their Beer actually surprised me in how flavourful it is; it tastes as they describe it, and not subtly as you might expect. The food is an imaginative take on old fashioned comfort food, and very well made. I had the "Best Damn Chicken Sand" I believe it was called. Waitress was very friendly. Everything exceeded expectations!
The only reason I'm giving the review 2 stars is Atleast the server we had was nice. Food was absolute garbage fries were still raw. The one hostest had the worst rbf and gave dirty looks the whole time we were in there. The music was so loud it was crackling couldn't hear myself crunching my raw fries.
Service poor. Food mediocre
Food was excellent today! Our server was Ari, he was top notch by far the best in the restaurant!
Great food, great beer, and great service
Great food! Friendly staff! Good beer!
Great attention. Good food with variety. Great beer selection!!
We stopped at Canada Tire for fuel and got a great tip to eat at this place that looks like a fire station, we had a great meal, couple of planks of beer and very good service. A+ place to enjoy.
Took 90minutes to get food from ordering, when it came, it was over-cooked and over-mustarded. How can a greasy spoon pub ruin a burger? On top of that, wait staff basically ignored our table during the whole wait. In the time we were there, the manager had to placate several tables. Maybe if you'd been alerting customers to the long wait befoee they sat down...
Noisy and busy even weeknights but if you like the action it’s the place to beat. Best fish and chips in the region.
We came to Kenora for the day while camping at Falcon Lake. We were accommodated to have our dog sit with us on the side patio. The self-serve option was very efficient. The food was ready quickly, served hot and so delicious. We ordered 2 pizzas and nachos. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that we were charged an additional $4-5 for an extra tiny serving of salsa and sour cream. There were 3 of us sharing them---seemed unnecessary to charge for these!! I haven't been charged for these in Winnipeg. Otherwise, it was a great visit.
I've been here twice while on a trip and every single time the food and drink are amazing. I'm a dark beer person myself and without fail, LOTW brewery delivers.
Great beer and food. We had the smokey BBQ pizza and kale caeser. Staff was great. A must if you're in Kenora.
Very good food, good courteous service. We went for dinner the other evening and returned for lunch today. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. Didn’t have to wait long at all for our food to come out. Servers were attentive. Will return whenever we find ourselves in Kenora.
We had the charcuterie platter and I tried the Bizzi-Bee Ale (awesome) and The Beer with No Name (okay). Excellent service, and it was pope on a Monday when everything else was closed. A good time was had by all.
Burgers were fantastic.
It was a very good visit last night. We were a table of 8, sitting right in front of the upstairs. The pizza was great, the fries, the drinks. The waitress was nice, we were kindly accommodated with a chair, and I give 11/10 points. Thanks so much.
Fun atmosphere and a nice patio. Good selection of beers. Taps probably rotate but the seven draft beers we tried were all quite good, though they all seemed kind of "safe": nothing was overly hoppy, dark or heavy/full-bodied (could be that it's summer!). Great location right on Highway 17 as it comes through town and walking distance from the Clarion Inn.
I want to give the biggest shout out to the staff working last night. There were so many people that showed up for my uncle's Celebration of Life, and you all worked so hard to help the night go smoothly. And with how late we all did end up staying, that crew was nothing but smiles and compassion the whole time.
Expensive
Great craft beers and great food!
Great Food, Great Service, Excellent Location and Atmosphere. Lunch and Dinner Menus are Interesting and Fun. Night-Life is a must for Kenora.
Beer good. Food good. Service good. Having dinner with work buddies. Very pleasant and highly recommended. Must visit!!!!
The food and drink was good. However, when we arrived we were told that rain was coming and if we chose to sit outside we would not be able to come back in. That's fine we understand. When the rain did come, our server wouldn't come out to check on us and shouted at us from the doorway. If you're going to request your customers to stay out in the rain, your servers need to STILL serve them. We understand you can't control the weather but during our entire stay, there was several empty bar tops and an entire table we could've stood at. We would've happily stayed and spent more money if there was one ounce of accommodation made.
This used to be our go to tradition every year whenever we were out in Kenora--their burgers and bottomless fries were a must! I feel like it wasnt as good last year and this year was disappointing. We came Saturday night at 5:30pm, was told the wait was 40 mins which we didnt mind, it wasnt until 70 mins had passed that we were seated. Our server was awesome, however, the food wasnt good. We ordered Cuban sandwich $16--it was just okay but cold, same with fries. No more burgers whatsoever and no bottomless fries. We had the Smokey the Bear pizza $22 but the dough wasn't cooked and the bottom half of pizza was literally black. I don't know how it made it out to our table. Our server offered 15% off pizza or another pizza and we opted for the discount as we had eaten the few edible slices already. I'm disappointed cause this place used to be amazing! But now it's overpriced and the food is subpar.
Fantastic atmosphere. Great service, cool place!
Friendly staff, great beer, nice atmosphere.
Perfect place to go for pub food and a locally brewed beer on a sunny summer day. Good prompt service. In an old fire station, we sat on the driveway which is now their patio. Pleasant atmosphere though the music can be a bit loud if you don't like that sort of thing. We ordered the beef dip and the reuben which were excellent. There was just as much meat between the bread and bun as there was bread and bun. Would recommend it.
????????
We only stopped through on a road trip but the atmosphere was great and so was the beer. Would recommend.
Great food great drinks and staff was very friendly. They've got a really tasty Caesar too. I'd come back just for that. The fish and chips were delicious as well.
Cool brewery, lots of swag and good beer!
The store was fine they had good customer service and a wide variety of things to buy. As for the pub it was horrible first experience, the food took over an hour to come and the server forgot to bring our appetizers and then after waiting for another 15 minutes she told use they were out of the appetizers we ordered. The food itself wasn't bad but it's wasn't the best. Great beer tho!!!
Great food, great service
Love that atmosphere of the old Fire hall. Good selections of brews and great food
A solid selection of amazing locally brewed beer and top rate service in the Tap House. Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had which appears on the menu as "London Calling"
Everything we expected. Good location, great staff, trendy, great selection on the menu, good quality food & portions, and very reasonably priced. Great selection of beer. I had the Big Timber IPA and it did NOT disappoint. A must visit place if you visit Kenora!
Delicious beer and food. Service was quick both for lunch service, and when we came back for supper. Did I mention how good the beer is?
I have never had a bad experiance here. Keep up the good work.
Arrived at 11:45 on a Wedsneday. Told us half hour wait for table and half hour for food. It was 45 minutes for the table and 6 mins shy of another 2 hours for food. 3 hours at this place for lunch. When we left at 3 PM there were 5 empty tables. Wait staff is friendly and nice. Not sure if I would come again as who wants to wait that long with 2 toddlers for lunch. Did have our bill discounted but it left us no time to visit Coney island
Beer was good, particularly the Belgian. Blue kayak burger was delicious. The brewco side salad was honestly kind of disappointing. Baked potato fries were good, but were lacking green onion. Service was just ok.
Great service and food. Have been coming every year since they opened. Always a good experience and fun to take new visitors to.
Great service, great beer, great food, and we even got a private tour of the brewery. You gotta stop here.
I love the way they converted the fire hall into a restaurant. On a sunny summer day you can't beat the atmosphere and the locally brewed cold beer. It's usually pretty busy on the nice days though, so it may be tough to get a seat during the peak hours. Pub style food, I've only tried the burgers and they were ok. Not the best burger I've had for the price but still very good. They also have a shop where you can buy LOTW brewery gear and beer growlers.
Had some great beer here, awesome service. Loved the Merch selection they had but like many Breweries found it a little overpriced for what it was. I would def. stop in here again with some more time on my hands and try more of their beers if I had the opportunity to.
Food was fantastic, lots of veggie options and service was great.
Good craft beer, especially enjoy the Tippy Canoe and the Firehouse Amber.
Exceptional experience. Great beer and food is out within 10 minutes of ordering
Incredible food and a great atmosphere. Loved this place!
Awesometacular place with SUCH a cool vibe and AMAZING staff! Incredibly friendly and helpful.
Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. We shall return for another Blueberry Beer
Good food and great service. The beer is great.
Amazing people and service
Service that is merely adequate and watery beer. we were excited to come here because we thought it was a brewery but it turns out as a family restaurant with a brewery. That's fine I guess but it killed the vibes. Don't come here expecting a crazy and wild time.
Good food good service I'll be back
Best craft beer I've had. And I've had a lot. Great food too.
Highly recommend!! Their food was phenomenal — best noodle bowl I’ve ever had! (The chef made it vegan for me). The bottomless fries were an awesome bonus! We love the craft beer they make here and often buy it at other places it’s offered and at the LCBO. (Note the artwork and names are spot on????????) The only thing that would have made our experience better was if we didn’t have to wait such a long time for our food when we were just stopping for lunch! But overall great experience and amazing food and beer!!
It's good
Had lunch there in July and the food was amazing. The pulled pork was very flavorful and the smoked ribs are done perfectly. Had the channel maker beer and it was very good. Great atmosphere and the place was packed on a Wed! Service was also spectacular. Try the tour! #idealplacetomeet
I want to like this place but the service is always disappointing.
Great food and pretty darn good beer too. Whenever we travel by Kenora we stop in. Thai nodle bowl and the fish and chips are our favorite dishes. Favorite beer - Big Timber. Well done
Good food, good prices and fast service. The bottomless fries option for some meals is great!
Great food! Loved the experience.
I'm still here waiting for another pint and some wings and fries! How could anything possibly take this long. Honestly, the worst and it hurts to write this.
Great atmosphere and people. We tried 8 different beer. Sultana Gold and the Kolsch were our faves. Does was excellent abs the kids liked it too. Grabbed some for the next night of camping beers store attached!
Good atmosphere, service, food and craft beer!
Very popular place. Great food and choices of beer. Tourist season is over so we were able to find parking and get into this restruant. Service person very good, knew her product which is nice. A little "pricie" but everything here was outstanding. Gift shop inside with some neat things including clothing. Its 200 K away from home but the trip to Kenora is not complete without having lunch there.????
Wonderful atmosphere ---the shore lunch was outstanding!! The tippy canoe was flavour-full -- even bought some forgotten lake from their store!!!!!! Check them out --- no regrets!!!! CHEERS!!!!!
Excellent food, beer, and service. Lots of seating great environment. Very efficient. Highly recommend
Good place for lunch. Good sized meals.
Awesome food and beer
I believe our servers name was Matie or something like that. We were there on July 4th with our parents and 3 visitors from Germany. We had an AMAZING server. He was funny, helpful and showed so much patience as our German guest spoke very little to no english. He made sure everything was to our satisfaction and showed the best service we've ever had there. We tip our hat to him for being wonderful. This company has a prize in him being a server for them. Food was great. Beer was tasty. All around a wonderful experience!
Brewery tour was fun! ????
Macaroni was excellent.
The food was very good. My table ordered different burgers, and all were great! All served with bottomless fries or salad so the price is actually quite worth it. Tasty fries, fresh salad and juicy meat. Ordered drinks, the ceasars were definitely the best I've had. I don' t normally like beer at all, but tried theirs, since a small glass came complimentary with my Caesar. It was nice, not overpowering or with a strong aftertaste or odour. I wish my hometown had this brewery! I will definitely eat here anytime I come through Kenora!
Food tasted great, and they have bottomless fries. I found the "London Calling" meal was a bit small so I had to get some more fries to fill myself up. The wait this night was a bit longer than I would have liked, but the beer was fantastic! A great stop in Kenora.
Good food and drink, always getting better. If you're passing thru it's the one place to go. It will be very noisy at night, but other than that cheers One thing I wish they'd do is fully staff the bar at night. Shouldn't send the barman to wait tables
Fantastic beer! Friendly staff, and just cant emphasize the importance of great beer enough. Outstanding place!!
Great beer great food
Really cool use of the old fire hall. Great beer and great food!
Food was ok... Beer was good!!!!
Great beer, food, and service.
????????????..."BIG TIMBER"...???????????? The nice people at 'Witch Bay' - see separate Review - recommended I try this place as it was only a short walk away. It was a very hot week in June, late afternoon & managed to get a seat on their nice Patio (in the Sun). I ordered a "flight" to check out what was on offer.... ....'Sultana Gold' was light & fruity but a girlies drink, ....'Somersby Cider' - very refreshing over the following hot days, ....'Firehouse Brown Ale' - nutty but better suited to an Autumn evening, ....and then the superb "BIG TIMBER" which was excellent...???? On several occasions, in the evening, I would order a 'Brown & Bitter' - half and half "Firehouse Timber" which raised the eyebrows of the Bar Staff but it made for a nice combination. ???????????????????????????????????????? The internal decor was OK, clean but a bit mechanical. The long table & stools adjacent the Bar was reminiscent of a 'fast food outlet in the 1980's'. Sitting in the large, airy windows (open or closed) was the best spot. 'Ladies Night', on a Thursday, was a 'hoot' to watch from a respectable distance. ???????????????????????????????????? Over my five day stay it became a second home... I found the service good, the Bartenders a little "aloof & lackadaisical" at times....???? As for the food there is definately room for improvement.... eg:- the topping on the 'Veggie Flatbread' could at least cover the bread.... ....the 'Chicken Caesar Wrap' was nice but a little bland.... ....the 'Butter Chicken Poutine' - my favourite - is a nice alternative, the chicken was succulent BUT the gravy - Ooh Please give it some life !!! ????????...SUGGESTION... ???????? 'Butter Chicken' is an Indian, Punjabi dish introduced after Independence in the late 1940's. As with most Indian dishes flavour is from the masala OR gravy. I have no idea what spices yours contain but please try adding - NOT CHILLI (that's boring) - but a 'Garam Masala'. These can be purchased 'on line' BUT it's better to make it yourself using a mixture of just 5/6 dry roasted, blended spices. ????...PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY...???? Places like this did NOT exist 22 years ago when I last made a similar trip...???????? In no way could this be considered an intimate or cozy place. There is room for improvement BUT, overall,..... ????...BY FAR THE BEST PLACE...???? TO VISIT IN KENORA FOR A NICE TIME
Great beer and a great tour!
Best Ceaser's in town
Great place and atmosphere. The service and food were also good.
Food was delicious!
Good food good beer, good service. Love the store next door. Always get gifts for friends and myself there. Has been getting the local beers and all other goods in the store.
The lady working in the store (long blonde hair) on August 7th in the morning, was extremely rude. When I walked into the store I was not greeted or asked if I needed help. When I asked if they had more sizes she replied with "NOPE!". I was born in Kenora and travel back in the summers from Toronto. I'm shocked at how much she seemed to dislike her job, thanks to her I didn't buy anything, maybe I'll try again next year. Tip to the owner: Please hire friendly, helpful staff in your store I guarantee you will sell more. This store has great potential!
Nice place to have a drink. Friendly staff. A Little bit crowdy, so don't Tell anyone
Our group of four arrived, excited to try to local brewhouse pub after riding the ms kenora. Unfortunately, we were only met with disappointment. The drinks came quickly enough, but we waited between 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. One set of wings we ordered hardly had any sauce or flavoring and the second set actually had NO sauce or seasoning at all. NONE. The nachos were not to order and seemed like they had been sitting for awhile. The brisket was flavorless and dry. The fries weren't good. The only decent thing was the shore lunch BLT, which can only be described as okay. The server seemed friendly enough at the beginning, but after we delivered our drinks, we barely saw her. The only time she came to check on us was only when I caught her eye and waved her over from across the room. After we asked us the bill, she was quick to mention how busy she was upstairs. If we had had a heads up that service would be slow from the beginning, that would have been one thing. At that point, it just sounded like a poor excuse when she knew it wasn't good. To top it all off, I left my purse behind. When I came back, I alerted the staff right away (I could see it behind the bar), and the server (same one from before) told me the bartender would get it for me right away. The bartender was finishing up some drinks (understandable), so I went to stand by where my purse was across the bar. She delivered her drinks, RIGHT beside my purse, and instead of handing it to me right then and there, she walked away to grab glasses to start pouring new drinks before just handing me my purse, which took about two seconds of her life. Overall, this was a supremely disappointing experience. I'm not a difficult person to please, and I understand being busy, but so much was wrong with this visit that it couldn't be overlooked.
I've come back to Kenora just for the poutine and the beer jugs from this place! Absolutely amazing I'd recommend it to anyone
Great atmosphere, decent food. Local beers were very good.
Good food. Good service. Pub grub is how I'd describe it. Not exceptional but above average
Had an really nice experience here really great service, food, ppl etc really nice place to meet new ppl and enjoy your slef for a small town :)
Excellent beer, food and staff. A must visit when in Kenora.
Got there around 4:45 on a Tuesday and the place was packed. Got a seat at the bar and had a beer in front of me within seconds. Ordered the shore lunch I think it was called and I think I’m in love. Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back on a weekend to enjoy the tour as well.
Grilled mac and cheese sandwich... Enough said.
Delicious food and super friendly staff. Beer was good too. Would definitely go back
Good food and beer selection. So glad we stopped in!
Great Burgers, good drinks and a good atmosphere.
Nice place. Nice people. However sat down with an hour and a 45 in our meter. Didnt recieve food till well over meter expired. Wasnt that impressed with the noms. Ive worked in kitchens for 14 years, things happen. But even 45 minutes for a burger/fish and chips is brutal.
Good food! Great beer! Even better service and atmosphere !
Amazing service! You ha e to try the baked potato fries. They are to die for! Dont forget the beer. The oatmeal stout to tip knotch. Cheers!
Horrible Experience!!! Arrived around 530, seated 545, ordered before 6pm. 630 rolls around no food, waitress noticed, came over to us and said there was a mistake and order wasnt in, but had spoken to the kitchen and ours will be right out. Ok no problem.....thanks for admitting to the mistake. 645 rolls around still no food. By this time tables around us who came in after us are done eating and some have paid and left. 7pm still NO food. Ask for waitress again, says I'll look into it. 715 we cancel our order and ask to speak to the manager. Soon after we leave w no food. By that point I and my husband are starving and the maddest we have ever been leaving the restaurant. We understand kitchens take time, but this was horrible. Mistakes happen, but don't tell us one thing and not deliver on another. Probably wont ever be back. Went to Boston Pizza, may I add we get seated, eat and out of the restaurant w in 45 mins.
Awesome. Great food, great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
Great beer! Good pizza! Great Service! Highly recommend when visiting Kenora!
Great food, better beer, and excellent atmosphere. I look forward to going on the brewery tour soon!
food was bad, service was bad.
Nice location. Busy and no reservations so the table wasn't optimal but that's our fault because we wanted the next available. Excellent selection of beer. Flights available to sample. Food was very good but service was just so-so. We had trouble finding someone to order more beer. Tried a Cuban Sandwich for the first time and have to give it a thumbs up.
Great beer, great service, terrific atmosphere coupled with good bar food.
In the mood for a wood stove cooked pizza for a Saturday outing? Theres no need to travel to the big city of Winnipeg or plan a trip to Italy, but instead just zip on into Kenora and visit Lake of the Woods Brewery. I was expecting bar food (as i was at a brewery) but was nothing short of pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service offered. The restaurant quickly went from a place I had never been- despite a year of working in the area- to a place I would recommend
Friendly but slow service.
Excellent Staff, great products, excellent service, highly recommend to check it out if you are in Kenora.
Expensive. Confusing staff. Not going back.
Awesome wings! Service was great!
So disappointed. Made an out of the way pit stop here to pick up some beer to try. Tap room was closed (which was totally reasonable due to COVID-19) and unfortunately the employee working was new and didn’t know anything about the beer. We couldn’t even pick up a couple single cans to try each beer because they only sell each beer in multiples of 4 or 8?! I’ve been to many many breweries and have never experienced this. I’m so sad, I was really looking forward to this stop on our trip.
Don't bother with this place. It is very overpriced for the quality. They treat their staff horribly so they are permanently understaffed and undertrained.
We were seated quickly but after 20 minutes waiting for a server, we went looking for one. Food took an hour to arrive and it was not hot! We were very disappointed.
Service was terrible
Great food, great service, great beer!
Service was VERY slow. We waited over an hour for our food. Boys said burgers were good however shrimp tacos were not. Two small shrimp on each and put on a deep fried shell. Shrimp tacos are meant to be folded and eaten. No good way to eat it fried. Waitress never came by to apoligize for the wait. Won't be back.
Good
When we first went a few years back, food was great and beer selection was 2nd to none. This year, beer selection wasn't what it once was... and the food has gone downhill. Ordered London is Calling like I usually do.... all i got was small fillets of walleye and a bit of fries and beans. Very small portions for 19 bucks. Also they put a lot of ice in my apple cider......never had ice in apple cider before. Really disappointed as I always went to eat there on the way to the cabin.
Logan is the best !!!! tip him well
Great!!
Unique location and really good food!
Great service! Amazing food and drinks! Can't wait to go back.
The place is busy on a Saturday night, but there's lots of seating. Outdoor patio is nice. Service was good, and friendly. Cool atmosphere, as it was an old firehall. Sports on the TV's, all in all , a fun place.
This was our first time here. Will definitely come again.
Food was outstanding! Best fries and great beer. Waiter Mark was friendly and hard working. Seating staff person was extremely rude and impatient with my wife. She was more interested in socializing with her fellow staff than customer service. This made the entire experience very unpleasant.
Absolute amazing experience! Staff are incredible, always make you feel welcome. Food is fantastic! Always love trying their new beers! Make sure to get their Blueberry Ale ????
Amazing!! All of it!!
Travelling from Ottawa. Best beer I have had through the province on this trip. Staff were friendly and food was great and service was fast. You must stop in if travelling or a local.
Great food, great beer, great atmosphere.
The beer is cold and delicious. Always make time to stop when visiting Kenora.
Stopped by here on our way across Canada and it was so worth it! Beer was really good especially the IPA, we also tried selzer for the first time and it was very good as well. Had pizza to eat and they did not disappoint, overall the experience was very good and if we ever go across the country again we would 100% drop in here for food and beer.
We were really disappointed ,the fries must have been the worst I ever had still trying to get that tastes out of my mouth. The burger was atrocious . The only thing good was the beer
I really enjoyed the beer (I had the sultana) & my personal service, but I was really disturbed when I witnessed another customer (later I verified that she was a MANAGER named Bethan) completely disrespecting and abusing a homeless individual. I was disgusted to see the way that the management was treating this person who was deserving of basic respect. I love supporting local, but it’s hard to support a business after seeing this type of disturbing service. I hope that this issue is acknowledged.
Friendly wait staff and a really cool atmosphere
Fantastic atmosphere and a really great spot for delicious food and craft beers. Would definitely recommend you try it, if you're in the area. *buy some hot sauce and beers on your way out, totally worth it!! **the gravy is delicious!!!
Beautiful kind and knolageable staff o and good food being from VT the beer was kinda mild compared to the deisel we drink at the local brews but good
Huge selection and good food
Great atmosphere. Great location. And great, great alcohol. Food, however, was both lacklustre and overpriced. It is a great place to visit, and I definitely recommend doing so. But skip the schnitzel.
The service was top notch , the food was great . Good beer, the waiter was great took care of us .
decently priced.
Great
Beer is great. Food for the price and taste poor. Give it a 2. Waitress was great. food took a long time to get only ordered poutine and chicken fingers. Very salty for my taste.
Good place for a pub meal. The beer is made on site and is a fairly decent pint. The meals are tasty and filling and were promptly served. I found the staff are very friendly and helpful with the bonus of being very knowledgeable about their product. In summer they also have a patio overlooking the main street. Great for watching locals. Parking is a bit of an issue, especially in the warmer months, there only being street parking.
Great food. Good beer and excellent service.
The Brewery hands down produces my favourite beers ever. I have yet to try something I haven't liked. The restaurant is also by top pick of places to eat in Ontario. Great service and atmosphere, delicious food, what more could you ask for?
This place is absolutely horrible. Even with a reservation had to wait over an hour and a half for cold to slightly luke warm food. When we tried to discuss this issue with the manager, all we got was rudeness and excuses. If your looking for a great dining experience in Kenora don't go here! If I didn't have to you wouldn't even qualify for 1 star.
Deep fried pickles - great. The Signature burger - amazing. Chicken Strips - amazing. Super cool environment, defs a recommend.
Good company and food
Best place to eat, drink and hang out in Kenora. The Blueberry beer is excellent.
The wait was way too long to get a table. Many people waited an hr, and we could see tables multiple tables open inside for 10 min or more. The food is good once it arrives.
Good food, great beer, awesome atmosphere all let down by super shoddy service.
One of the best breweries ive ever been to. Probably the best
Service was very slow, took over an hour to get pizzas. Disappointing to see other people get served first that sat down after us. Had to chase our server to get another drink. Won’t be returning.
Great food and service!
I love the can you use for Lakeside Kolsch with the old outboard motor on it, especially the choice of colour with the chrome. My father was a fishing guide in Lake of the Woods back in the 1940's, for people like Mr. Hershey, (chocolate), and Judge Charlie Hatch. He was from Fort Frances. That is why someone got me this can of beer for Christmas. Dad made a pretty good naturally carbonated light coloured refreshing beer himself here in Toronto that reminds me of yours. I know he would have loved your beer and the can. I placed it up on the wall with the old nostalgic stuff and it fits right in. Now I am going to try your other beers. The pictures of your food look amazing! Especially the burger and fries with a little peel still on them, the best kind. I will make a point of dropping in for beers and food next time I am passing through even if it takes me a few hundred miles out of my way.
This place is great. Really good beers and great service regardless of the COVID scenario. Stop and eat drink and enjoy.
Excellent local food and flavours
Great variety of drinks and good food. Bottomless fries! Great servers.
Great food, better beer.????
Terrible service on multiple levels. On our most recent visit my family and I were disappointed when we found out that we could not be served past 10 p.m with the kids. We arrived before 9 p.m and at 9:45 they informed us we couldn’t be served. So we left and went to Boston Pizza and were greeted with prompt service and a smile.
Awesome food and a great selection of good beer
Great place to stop for a bite and sample local craft beer...great atmosphere as well!!
Great beers, friendly, efficient staff, a good time was had by all in our group! !
Great place to hang out and enjoy craft brews and burgers!
Awesome food. Great staff.
Great brew pub with an amazing beer selection. Custom build your own flight. Food on point. Very knowledgeable server.
Beer was great but the food made me ill 2 times out of 3. Overemphasis on grease
Food and service was awesome! Claire was awesome and so on point. Gave awesome advise on the menu! Deff will be back!!
Great food and service
Good (and strong) brews, good food, open late which was a surprise for a Monday with a late night menu. James was a great server and helped us with all our questions. Take outs available too which was handy.
Very bad experience I'm travelling across Canada for 7 days now First time I felt I am avoided for being brown skin We got a seat, waited for the menu card but the table with 3 whites who was served even before we got the menu. In between it rained, and umbrella was provided on almost all the tables but nothing on our table. Later when we asked for one, he brought one and set the base. By the time the rain stopped. He was like, "if it rain again set up the umbrella yourself". I have been in Canada for almost 3 years now and this is the first time I felt an evident racial discrimination towards me. They dint have a proper menu card for the beer. I would have given atleast a 3 star if the food was good. A 23$ pizza was one of the worst pizzas ever had. Lot of sauce of the top made the pizza soggy and hard to take of the plate. The beer was good and the girl who served us was nice. She had the minimum manners to apologize for the umbrella. Thus the 2*. Never recommended, at least for people who are not white.
Best nachos ever. Great service. Would return if we stay in Kenora again.
Two and half hours to get to eat! Not worth the wait. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant!
We always enjoy when we stop in, great atmosphere, service, food and of course beverage.
Great food! Awesome space!
Awesome food, great atmosphere and some quality beers. I recommend the shore lunch BLT and the "last call" beer.
Well done ????
A local brewery to Kenora, this taphouse has their house made brews on tap and a delectable selection of foods to go with it. If you are looking for a beer with friends or dinner with someone special, the Brewco is a first choice in Kenora.
Great French fries
Fantastic food and super friendly staff. Great atmosphere and did I mention they have good food?!?!
Went here last night with the girlfriend. Had the calamari and the works burger. Had a few drinks and craft beer. Delicious all around. I'm a head chef from selkirk manitoba so I'm pretty critical on food and drink haha. Brioche bun was soft and grilled well, patty was juicy and the fries were delish. My family has been coming to the Lotw area since I was a child but I'll definitely be back. When you see a spot as busy as this is, you KNOW they are doing it right. Regards to your kitchen crew and the servers.
Beer was good but it is taking forever to get our food. It's been 45 mins already??? Correction: it's been 65 mins already and still no food. Maybe it is our bad luck but still...
Service tends to be slow. Hard to get drinks and food.
Great food, great beer and great service
Great selection of local brewed beers. Something for everyone. And the wings are very good as well.
47.00 for gross fries and beer
Food was good so more stars for that. But come on with the beer. Not the quality of craft beer available in the market today. Hope and oats was more like water than an oatmeal stout They ran out of IPA when we were there and the waitress said that they had another keg but wouldn't hook it up. We left and went back later to find out they had hooked up the IPA, however whatever they gave us was a completely different beer. Waitress couldn't explain why other than some batches are different than others, I know my beer fairly well and that was a totally different beer than we had before. All in all a very negative experience. Unfortunately it is one of the only reasonable beer bars in the area. Updated review - went back again as I was in town on business. Much better experience, food was still good. Still not my style of beer as I like motor oil thickness in my stout and hops through the roof in my IPA, but overall more positive experience this time. Still wish all the staff had better knowledge of the beer on tap.
A group of 8 of us Went for lunch , and was told there was a 1 hr wait time for food service???? The place was half empty, no explanation ,none required ,we went somewhere else with great service and food.
Service was excellent, beer was delicious and the food was pretty great too!
Terrible menu, entitled millennial server, this place was a place we looked forward to coming to, not anymore....too bad they've become just like evey other chain restaurant
Best place for a beer in Kenora by far.
Even took the grandkids 4 and 10. Good food price and service.
Love the beer! No growlers! Get it fixed! sole reason we came
Was told over the phone that the patio was open and that I could bring my dog. Upon arrival we were told the patio was closed and we could not be seated. Very unhappy with my experience here
We have been waiting 45 minutes in the middle of the afternoon for two plates of poutine. I now know why this place is always busy looking: because the same customers are here likely for a couple hours at a time waiting on food. Food is pretty awesome but wait time is horrible.
What a bizarre restaurant... Canada Day... there’s approximately 10-15 people waiting to be seated. We’re told 15-20 minute wait.. I look inside and count 9 empty tables? Hostess tells us in a “ don’t bother me “voice: “that’s the way we do things, we don’t want to overwhelm our servers” how weird! We left and went to shooters lounge ...no waiting Well this is the way we do things.. spend our money elsewhere.. hope whoever owns the place reads this... so strange!
Beer is average and overpriced for what it is, food was undercooked the two times I tried it. Service is bad but they are awful to their staff so that's to be expected.
Friendly service, our sever was knowledgeable and the food/drinks were delicious!!
Good as usual
Great food. Try the reuben sandwich, best bam chicken sandwich or Jimmy burger. Service was the best in Kenora.. BTW All goes well with a Firehouse brown. Cheers.
Went last night. Told us it would be a 20 minute wait and then another 45 min to one hour for the food. Are you kidding? Sunday night in a resort town? Too much hype for lousy, overpriced food and slow service. Stick to going out in Winnipeg or The States. Stay away from Kenora restaurants!!
My wife and I are from out of town heard the lake of the woods brewing co. Was a good plave to eat , our meal was fantastic and our server Morgan was awesome will definitely come back
Best lunch place for travellers ????
I was so excited that a brewery in Ontario brewed a blueberry beer. But where's the blueberry taste?
Good food, good service, good beer. Exceptional pizza. A bit pricey for bar food.
Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Nice
I was in Kenora on Saturday and decided to check out Lake of the Woods Brewing Company with a friend. The place used to be a firehouse, but was remodeled into a brewery with an adjacent taproom. We both ordered "London Calling" their version of fish and chips and a couple craft beers. The food was fantastic, the beers were cold and our waitress was great.
Awesome place .....our server was amazing her name was Ashley
Great pub in Kenora. Fast, friendly service and a great menu.
