The coffee is as as strong as you will find it elsewhere at a fraction of the price. Large drip coffee for more than 3 $ and guess what... they didnt even bother buying big enough cups to serve it... So you take it in paper... hahaha... seriously.

Great place, great atmosphere, outstanding coffee. Really reasonable prices too. Highly recommend.

Better than expected! Nice to see a café with decent beers on tap and wine to order as well. Overall it was good, but I found the sandwich to be a bit of a let-down, and the "seasonal beer" was a fruit infused beer....not exactly seasonal for fall (DARK BEER SEASON)

I really have liked Motivo when in Kamloops. However, in this time of COVID-19, I was really surprised they have not gone further for the safety of their customers. No masks on employees, no sanitizer and no glass divider. A small posting and a few distancing spots. Live music with packed outside seating that was not seemingly 2 meters apart. Tried to get out quickly but slower service than have experienced there before. Top that off with them getting the drink order wrong. Should have left immediately.

I love coffee. Generally I prefer caffeinated, however here at motivo the decaf JJ bean blend is, in my opinion better than the caffeinated Eastside blend that they have on the bar. So I only order decaf at motivo. The sweet snacks offerings seem to be limited when compared to the past. Hence why I've only given 4 stars

For many years I have been enjoying the coffee cake streusel muffin at the cafe motivo. This is the muffin I had for breakfast on each of the mornings that my 2 daughters were born, so there is also a strong emotional tie to this particular muffin. It has been a treat throughout my life in Kamloops. I'm not sure what happened, but the muffin I purchased today (after maybe a year without having one) was not the same. Dry, flavourless and an overall disappointment. Given the number of coffee shops around with their signature decadent treats, I can't see myself returning to the cafe motivo anytime soon. My wife echoed the same assessment of the muffin. She also had a breakfast wrap (also a favourite of ours through the ages) that had changed-and not for the better.

For the inner critic inside of me, this visit was very dissapointing: interior design of the place is very clean and simple, coffee tastes great, food is way too good for a coffe shop. Staff feels like real people who also happen to be very well trained and good at what they do. Customer service is shown by diligent and fast performance of tasks and paying attention to people who look like they've been waiting for a bit. With a great regret I have to warn any foodie and wannabe critic: locally roasted coffee, great food and amazing staff leave absolutely nothing to criticize. Update: Muffins feature delicious goodnes, great texture, and surprisingly...shape(easy to bite, no mess). Banana-Bluberry ordered recently is my #1 muffin in the world so far

I recently visited and the staff was quite nice and the music wasn't stuck on the 80ies. Coffee is the same, still JJ bean. Espresso was forgettable. They try hard to be a boutique coffee shop for the business elite of downtown, when in reality they are mostly on par with the Waves, Blenz and JJ franchises of the lower mainland. I'm happy this isn't a top level destination on google maps anymore and I feel this improves my interest in actually visiting for a coffee rather than to _be seen._

Baja fish taco (5/5)- large fish pieces fried to a crisp thin-medium breading with fresh vegetable toppings. Pork Gringas (5/5)- juicy and delicious but NOTHING like the original tacofino gringa I had since it lacked the cheesy crust and golden crispness of the outside.

If I could give 6 stars I would.... not only do they serve great coffee and awesome food, but they are over the top helpful. I was there recently looking to buy 2 Chemex mugs but they only had one. They took the time to get my name and number to let me know when they got more in. On top of that, my girlfriend was in looking for a Hario kettle, she was told that they sold the last one the day before. They didn’t stop there, they checked to see if more were on the way, when they realized they wouldn’t be here in time for Christmas, they provided her with a phone number for the distributor who could ship directly to her in time. Excellent service Motivo! Keep up the awesome work!

This is a beautiful little cafe, and the coffee and food was great. I was so disappointed however, In the way we were treated. We ordered and waited awhile for our food, so we were sipping on our drinks and a staff came somewhat haughtily to us and told us we would have to get out if we didn’t show QR codes, even tho we were waiting for our food. It’s just so sad to see discrimination like this, and I can’t support it.????

Thank God for Caffe Motivo. Recently moved from Vancouver to Kamloops and was worried that I wouldn't never have my good ol' JJ Bean coffee ever again. I can't tell you how happy I was to find JJ's railtown blend on drip and to discover that I can buy bags of JJ roasted beans here. They also sell that other Vancouver standby Matchstick coffee in bags. If you are from East Van and in Kamloops for school or travel, this is you go to spot for a taste of home.
