REVIEWS OF Alestine's IN Inuvik

Excellent seafood and fries. Best fried fish north of 60

Joel Buhiire

Delicious! Great bison burger, fun decorations, beautiful location.

Sherry Ott

Great food, the owners were so lovely and served us themselves. Seating is limited but worth the wait. I had the reindeer burger , and it was delicious! A quirky, great local place!

Mike Kennedy

Decent food, nice atmosphere, great service. Only wish there was some “local” fare on the menu. I had asked around for the best place to get some local food, and this was the recommendation. Burgers and fish n chips. Same thing I can get at home. Oh well! The chili was great, however. I could have eaten gallons of that.

THE place to go in Inuvik. Pam and Brian take very good care of you. Make sure you get here early as there are only about 14 seats inside. You can sit outside and smell the goodness being cooked in a converted school bus! Most people love the tacos and the menu has something for most people. I had the Burger which was delicious. Definitely have the piece of tail dessert as that is a great way to end the meal!

Kambal Bloxham

Outstanding! The food was very good the owner was incredibly nice. the food is a very good price lower than you would expect from a restaurant in the north. The prices were comparable to what you would see in any restaurant in a major city any where else. love the bus fun to read all of the different stickers. Over all a lovely place with good food and a amazing atmosphere. There is nothing bad I can say about this place. Love it!

Was here a week ago. Had the fish tacos and piece of tail, both were excellent. Hospitality was fantastic. Sat on the rooftop patio. Great place to stop for a bite to eat in Inuvik.

Stephanie Sparks

Awesome food and experience! I had the white fish and loved it as well as the piece of tail which was delicious. Long Island iced teas and lots of sunshine made this an awesome evening. Service was very friendly and quick, didn’t forget anything, and even though they were busy we never felt rushed. If you are visiting Inuvik, going to Alestine’s is a must!

Laurence MacKenzie

Awesome food and a great dining experience. The owners are very friendly. There is information and outdoor seating. If it's cold, they will build you a fire to sit around while you wait for space to become available indoors. The indoor portion of the seating area is quaint and intimate. This establishment is cash only at time of writing.

First time in Inuvik, first time at Alestine's. What a gem ! The staff are super friendly and service is spot on. I had the white fish tacos and they were scrumptious... better than anywhere in Mexico.

Nicole McRae

This place is truly a gem. Loads of tea, excellent fish tacos, and superb service. Oh...and frybread dessert. All at a reasonable price.

Holly Jones

Favourite place to eat out in town! Highly recommend the fish tacos, reindeer poutine, and 'Piece of Tail' for dessert. Much love to Pam and Brian for all your 'friendly with a side of funny' hospitality!

Cathie Schneck

Great staff. Handeled a huge rush really well. Awsome food. Not a huge place but everyone shared tables. Really great dinner and experience.

Amy Sciezer

I had the bison burger. Great food. Amazing experience. I saw the yellow school bus and though 'this cant be the place'. Boy was I wrong. I'll be returning and bringing my friends.

Richard Moore

Great food and atmosphere! Reasonably priced food with a mix of classics and local with the option of beyond beef burgers for vegetarians. Try the Eskimo donut, it's worth it.

Michael Gorev

Kathleen Matari

Alestine's is a great mom&pop restaurant with warm meals made with local fish. Owners, Pam and Brian, are the warmest, most welcoming people you will meet in Inuvik. Would highly recommend visitors and long time residents eat here!

Roberta Skiftun

Amazing! I looked forward to this all the way from Saskatchewan

Brett Seibel

Take three tables in a room made for 2 and a half. Warm that space with people not afraid to share it. (Nobody wants to sit outside at minus 28 anyways, so get in and cozy up). Then put a kitchen in a bus and a washroom outside. You've got an atmosphere you can't find elsewhere. .... oh yeah, the food is fantastic. The service exceptional - with quirks.

Mehrdad Ziaei

This is a very cozy and friendly place. Delicious food and lovely hosts. If you come to inuvik you must eat here.

Mohamed Youness Ellaham

Awesome service, nice people, original place, best bison burger in the north and get your self a piece of tail delicious

paul schalkwijk

Best bison burger in town. Pretty expensive but what do you expect when you're so far north. Nice and cozy and the kitchen bus is cool.

Amina Cadanda

The fish tacos are delicious! The staff is friendly. Cute little place.

Greg Gadren

Best food in Inuvik. Now, you may think that’s not saying much, but even in a bigger town with more options Alestine’s would still stick out. Excellent fresh fish entrees, great side dishes, and a fantastic twist on the traditional Canadian beaver tail for dessert. All served on a nice deck or in a small enclosed room, and cooked in the school bus next door. If you’re in town you have to go!

Clayton Smith

6 out of 5 stars. The fish tacos were good, and the people were even better. Must stop in Inuvik.

Ceris Thomas

Amazing local restaurant, wonderful owners and great food!

B Chapman

Fish and chips, using white fish, great. White fish tacos great. Interesting atmosphere, very friendly staff. Get a lot of local knowledge from them. For dessert have the piece of tail.

Marie Stackhouse

Cozy and unique location with amazing local fare!! Best restaraunt in Inuvik! ????????

Sarah Taylor

Had the fish tacos, service was fast and the food was delicious.

William Gray

I was highly disappointed. As I went around Inuvik everyone told me this is the place to eat. They were very busy and I am ok with that. But I ordered an iced tea with my dinner which was never provided. The waitress took my order and never checked in with me again until my meal was complete. I ordered a Bison Burger and fries. The burger was slightly overcooked leaving it dry and the fries were slightly under cooked. I will say the sauce on the burger was great. I ended up being disappointed maybe because I had heard so many people telling me how great it was, but I doubt I would go back here again.

Chris Gallant

Gorgeous little cabin beside the bus serving up hot fresh food. The fish and chips was fantastic, and a very large serving for the price as well.

Liisa Jay

Such a fun place, great food at a good price! Check out the daily saying on the chalk board and the bumper stickers on the bus! And have a tea around the fire!

amanda park

I had never eaten here or ordered from here before tonight, and man am I ever glad I finally did!! The food was amazing service was awesome and the prices are unbelievably reasonable/low as well!! Great job I am definitely going to eat from there again!!
