First the parking is kind of awkward. Then the staff I met did not seem to like their jobs or the customers they serve. Finally the place was not necessarily crowded but with so many people by themselves with a laptop it doesn't take much time before you run out of available tables. It could have been an exception that evening because the Starbucks down the street closed earlier than usual.

I spent a good amount of time here to do some work. Nice, quiet environment. Good options of tables. Pretty much every seat has an outlet accessible. The drinks are great, but even if you dine in, they give you a to-go cup. The other second cups I frequent at serve you with real coffee cups/mugs. I think they just don't want to do dishes. Also for a good while now, this location has been invaded by flies. Mainly at the cashier area. I'm not sure why it's taking them so long to fix this issue, and it seems like the employees are just used to it now. I'm giving them a 4 because the flies are pretty unsanitary. Without the flies, this is an easy 5. Good lighting, good variety of tables and chairs, perfect for studying or getting work done.

The bathrooms are disgusting and there wasn't any toilet paper, I accepted terms and conditions but the internet never connected AND I got a flat white and the coffee was not very good. Overpriced, with unreasonably long waiting times. The staff was disorganised and unwilling or unable to take simple decisions that could speed things along. The frappuccinos they advertise are entirely made out of diluted powders, which makes the high price really hard to understand.

Today I ordered a dairy free drink as my newborn baby has a severe allergy to dairy and i breast feed him. Second cup put caramel sauce in my drink which contains milk that I didn't notice until after I drank it. This is unacceptable when I ordered my drink dairy free due and even said because of an allergy. Would give zero stars if I could.

If you're ever at Parkwood Mall in PG, and you're tired of Starbucks or whatever coffee you usually drink, stop in at Second Cup. They have the usual stuff you find at Starbucks, such as specialty coffees and snacks, but they also have sandwiches and soup, if you so desire. The seating area is large enough and there is a high top table with stools available for all the laptop users, complete with outlets to plug in.

The coffee is amazing, but it is inconsistent every time I order. The average price is around $6. $6 for a coffee is a lot of money and for it to not be made properly every time is just a waste of money. We love this location! After the Petsmart and Healthy Planet we always go to the SC. The staff is excellent and always make the drinks perfect. I am quite picky and like my cappuccinos extra hot and extra dense and the baristas are great. My wife is gluten and dairy intolerant and they always manage to make her something yummy. The atmosphere is great and the owners really take pride in the store.

Fairly decent spot. The staff are usually courteous and attentive, but they seem to gossip a fair bit about their personal romantic relationships (to the point where customers can hear the unsavory details). The atmosphere is a bit cramped and oftentimes there are loud kids who enter with their stressed out parents. Occasionally a few vagrants enter asking for change (though not too often). This area - the Stockyards - is rather strange. Many stores fill the place but it's almost never busy. The people in this area are rather rough and distant.

Although Second Cup is not setup as Star bucks and Tim Horton's for drive thru; this location is very convenient for me to take my coffee and breakfast in the morning. The staff is very rude. I went there an hour or so before close and asked for a medium blend coffee and the girl gave me a lukewarm cup of coffee and when I asked for a fresh cup she said I added too much cream that's why it was cold. LOL She gave me another cup but it was an espresso...not what I ordered. She was very lazy and did not look like she wanted to be there at all. She didn't bother making a new batch and claimed they were closing soon when there was still an hour or so to close. From my experience...it seems the management does a very poor job training their employees on how to treat customers... I have elderly people in my family that visit this location often and I can't imagine how I would feel if they were treated like that. Very disappointed.

During my visit to my parents' place, I ran out of fresh Phil & Sebastian coffee beans. Unlike Vancouver, choices for coffee beans were limited in Red Deer. Not willing to go to Starbucks, I decided to try Second Cup. I purchased the only decaf beans they had at the store and made a cup of coffee as soon as I got home. The beans didn't smell fresh and the coffee was flavourless. Also, the beans had burnt smell and taste to it and I assumed they were over roasted. To be fair, their Americano misto wasn't too bad. A little mild but I didn't mind it. The atmostphere inside the store is pretty standard. Not too bright, not too dark, not too exciting... I wouldn't go there to buy coffee beans again, but if I needed to sit down for a cup of latte, this place would do. .
