Covid update: open for takeout and online ordering. Very clean and safe with covid restrictions, loyalty program and the new orange mocha is absolutely amazing and tastes like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange! ???? Been going here for several years whenever I can. The owner and her employees are friendly and welcoming. When the cafe is open it’s very cosy and inviting inside. Fresh baked goods, soothing or energizing warm drinks (depending on what you need) and even ice cream from Willard’s up on Main St. Lots of vegan and gluten-free options and the breakfast sandwiches and soups and salads are delicious as well and generously portioned. This is the best little cafe, delicious baked goods, ice cold pints of Willard’s ice cream and scrumptious breakfast and lunch options. Everything with a Dutch flare. ❤️

I gotta say, Cafe Oranje is one of the best (and I come from Toronto so my standards are high). Friendliest staff, amazing coffee and a relaxed cafe that you feel welcome to stay and read in. A little piece of European flair, love coming here. Stepping through the door it almost feels like you are on a mini vacation in Europe. The dutch baked goods are great, but they also have a selection of vegan menu items and very tasty looking "not-your-every-day-donuts". Since moving here, Cafe Oranje has become my go-to coffee shop. The staff never fail to be courteous and kind and always serve with a smile. The flat white here is especially delicious, and the stroopwaffel is such an exquisite treat! Definitely take the time to stop in here and indulge in the peaceful and happy environment.

Went in today for the first time after a year. The coffee is still good. I actually had breakfast for the first time here as well and it was surprisingly good! The guy who made it said it was his first time making it, he did a super good job. It feels a little tight, I won't lie. But that's cuz I'm a big guy and smaller places make me extra aware of the space I occupy. The orange color theme isnt annoying at all, in fact, kudos to their interior designer cuz they somehow made this color work. The staff is friendly, or at least the two guys I saw today, and if you're interested, they're selling coffee beans as well (today they had these Colombian beans from San Agustin that are The Best). Good place for you to bring your laptop and just work for a couple hours, or draw, or just sit down and stare at nothing until you feel it's time to go.

I loved this place under previous ownership. The owner would sing while he worked, and the Dutch focus meant excellent coffee and sweets-good sandwiches too. He moved back to Amsterdam, and now new people own it...I hope they keep it the same. While there, the wonderful Denningers market is a few steps away and JH Gordon used books has an excellent selection of high quality books with a good focus on art. An area that is up and coming.

I love this cafe! I come here from time to time with my husband or my mom and sister, and the staff are always so lovely. Their coffees are excellent, and I also really like their chai tea latte, it's delicious! Snacks and sandwiches are also yummy. There's not too much seating, but if you can, it's always nice to grab the stools by the window and watch the world go by.

I always judge a coffee shop on their rendition of a flat white. I had great expectations after reading the reviews online, unfortunately when the barista used the same steamed milk to make 2 separate flat white's, I knew this wasn't going to be the 4.6 star experience. Coffee tasted bitter. However, staff were very friendly and they promote fundraising for the homeless.

Care Oranje is special to me. They serve the best product. If you're not happy they'll make it right. They serve a wide range of coffee and tea. Fresh made breakfast, soups and sandwiches and delicious baked goods. Served with a smile and good music played at the proper level.

My first impression walking into the cafe was relaxed and welcoming. The interior is cozy and modern chic. Both of the people working are so nice and accommodating. I ordered an americano coffee along with their lunch combo of soup and a sandwich. The Van Gough sandwich was so delicious and the perfect serving size. The soup of the day was a sweet potato and black bean chili, sceptical at first because I wasn't sure about sweet potatoes, I tried a sample and was instantly hooked! Cafe oranje is a cool cafe easily located along king st. & will deffinatly return many more times :)

Elegant but simple decor. Has a tastefully done Dutch influenced decor to it, and they pull it off nicely. Nice selection of food and treats (the stroopwafel is delicious). The coffee is in a class by itself, the staff really seem to know about beans, about roasting and about serving coffee and it shows. I can't recommended this place enough.

A good location to see some Osprey.Parking can be a bit difficult.Great place to go for a walk or bike ride along the grand river. It's nice to stop off at the dam and watch the water flow while people fish. Always a good time hiking around the area

Great coffee and a modest but worthwhile snack selection at this downtown cafe. They offer a great selection of locally roasted coffee and always deliver a great final product. Seating in the back is comfortable but limited. They offer lunch deals with sandwiches that look great but I have not tried. Friendly staff always takes the time to answer questions and indulge small talk. If you are downtown and need a coffee or some beans for home brewing I highly recommend.

Finally stepped in here for the first time. Friendly staff, cute space/atmosphere. Had a cortado. Only reason I didn't give is cause they didn't have oat milk lol. Really its ok cause they are the only cafe I know that does not charge extra for dairy alternatives. Thank you for treating us like everyone else café oranje!

Great concept. I wanted this place to be great but it fell short. Coffee was good but the food was a disappointment. Kroketten heated up on grill? Stroopwaffles were a disappointment. Service was lacking. My wife's cappuccino seemed to be prioritized behind the five people that came in after us. Not worth the trip for a good coffee but if the food was better and more authentic I would reconsider.

Today I learned of the word gezellig and it definitely encapsulated the location. The feeling you get when you walk in is homy you can tell they are proud of their community and strive to offer a comfortable place place to enjoy a bite and coffee. I also see them adjusting to covid by adhering to mask regulations, take down information of people who dine in and setting up spaces to dine outside or take out. Overall a nice place to check out.

When I first moved to Hamilton last fall, I made a point to try out as many coffee shops as possible (for take-out only, of course), as a way of seeing the city & having some sense of normal through the pandemic. When I found Cafe Oranje my coffee shop tour stopped because I knew I found ‘my place.’ Mena and Cameron make an amazing oat milk latte (& with gluten free oat milk), and the shop always smells of warm freshly baked treats. Whenever I visit, I feel like I’m with friends. I’m looking forward to eventually sitting in the window seat to people watch!
