I was visiting Halifax, a friend of mine recommended this place. When I arrived the staff were amazing, suggested me the best or the most famous food. I stayed to work on my computer and they have a very nice environment to work or chat. The food was amazing!

If you order tea, they make your tea bag right there, using the leafs of the flavor you want. Their coffee is really really good. The peanut butter squares are lovely. AND... they have butterscotch Frappuccino’s!!! The prices are very, very reasonable for such an off-the-wall, “underground” coffee house, given the most excellent location. I need to come here a few more times before I go on, because I will miss this place. It’s just great.

Noisy from car traffic. Slow internet connection. Really slow upload so can send files, which means poor place to work. Tea selection was good but expensive.

Simply great coffee, friendly staff and they offer soy/almond milk. Double check with your server that they've made it with soy/almond as sometimes they forget or get distracted, but everyone is always super friendly and honest about it. Also get a samosa with sweet chili sauce, you might not think it but damn its a great combo. Also all their ice coffee frappe things are don't use milk so they are already vegan and way more flavorful then the syrup crap elsewhere.

I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could. The bagels we got were excellent. The coffee was good. the Nanaimo bar was okay, and the red late (a house special) was unique and delicious (probably a good reason to try this place out).

Great hot chocolate! A little on the pricey side (it deters me from trying most of the food items) but given the location in downtown, they probably need that to just pay the rent. Cozy interior, wish I could sit and curl up with a book sometime instead of grabbing a drink and running back to work. Maybe someday.

Cosy space to hang out or work Coffee is good and they have espresso drinks. Nice bakery offerings and value priced. Real value here is the location and atmosphere, very anti-chain feeling - warm and comfortable. Basement space is also warm, could set up shop with a laptop! Met a friend in town to hang out and the staff knew them and were very warm.

I really loved this place. We went there for a coffee and a bagel. Coffee was excellent. They have plenty of options, even though some of them needed explanation. I'd say it was the best coffee I had in Halifax. The bagel was really delicious. If I lived in the area I'd probably go there every day.

I've been in Ontario since 2013 and I STILL have reminders of how much I miss my Wired Monk. It was my morning routine to stop in with my little dog on our walk. I miss the happy, welcoming faces of the owners, the warm & cozy atmosphere, the comfort food (Thai Chicken Soup in particular), not to mention the amazing coffee. Hope this little spot continues to thrive.

Past favourite revisited. Been awhile since I was here, and almost forgot about the quick, efficient, courteous service. First time for the breakfast wrap, and I'm glad I got it - bit of sweet, bit of spice, and lot of delicious. Also open earlier (at least during 2021 Covid) than many other eats.

Good coffee, FREE WIFI, tons of space, lots of snack/food choices. There is a ground and basement level. The basement has a fireplace with couches - very comfy. Lots of local art featured throughout. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a great place to hang out with friends or relax. Not expensive or pretentious. I recommend this place for a visit.

It's my first visit to this coffee shop. Nice atmosphere, good coffee, but not the best service. As a dark-skinned man, I'll classify what happened as microaggression. The server clearly did not see what they did as wrong when they skipped our orders to serve other people while there was a clear queue. I complained, but the server acted as if he was too busy to listen. I enjoyed the coffee, but I won't rush back or recommend it to someone like me.

I love this little place. Good food, great coffee, and friendly, amazing staff. During COVID, you may have a bit of a wait, but its well worth it. Its a regular stop on my schedule, and my go-to choice for coffee, tea, deliciously evil baked goods, and breakfast and lunch food for on-the-go. It is also a wonderful place to hang out and relax- great atmosphere, comfy seats- although that ability is naturally lessened during these times. Highly recommend.

I have been going to this place over the past 5 years for a cozy nook to do projects, etc. and overall I'd say they have one of the better shops in Halifax. Atmosphere-wise they have an upstairs that lends itself more to those who are on the go and a basement that is generally alot quieter. Coffee-wise it stands out for the lattes that keep me coming back. Would recomend to all looking for a nice "nook" to enjoy with friends or get a project done from their laptop.

They used to be one of my favorite spots to get breakfast. However poor attention to detail has really put a damper on the quality of what I've purchased recently. I ordered a yogurt and granola that had 1 tiny little scoop of yogurt. I actually thought they forgot to put yogurt in so I asked and was told "Sorry thats the last of the yogurt we had. we gave you extra fruit through". So that got returned. And most recently the last two breakfast bagels i've ordered I've requested no-mayo please put chipotle sauce on and guess what, mayo both times. You have to wait close to 10 minutes for your sandwich. It would be nice if they could just take an extra 30 seconds to make sure they are making it right so you don't have to wait another 10 minutes while they remake it. And then you get some passive attitude from the servers when you complain. Fortunately there are lots of other options in the downtown area.

Their debit machine does not work and their employees don’t do anything about it. Now I understand this was not his fault but the responds was unacceptable. The server at the counter said very sarcastically “well it’s not working so have a great day” & did not offer any solutions. They had made half my order so you are wasting food which is awful in itself. He mentioned that this is an on going issue so I’m confused as to why it has not been fixed. Management should be on top of things like this as you aren’t going to make much money with non working equipment. This individual should be taught some customer service skills as I have been here many times and never received the negativity I did today from any other worker. I work just up the street and come for lunch often but after this I will not be returning.

First time there... I asked the barista for the best hot drink they recommend and a chocolate chip cookie. She gave me a Medium "Americana" to go, which I'm pretty sure is meant to be normalish style coffee? Whatever it was it sucked. The cup and lid combo they provided leaked everywhere while I was walking down the street and the zarf (cup insulator thing) was so thin it didn't help with the situation in the least bit. When I got back to my office I took a bite out of my cookie and it shattered into pieces and had about 3 total chocolate chips. Worst cookie I've ever tasted. 0/10, never going back there.

It is a great place that perfectly fits in Halifax. Coffee and food are a little pricey, but totally acceptable as it is an independent coffee house. A variety of drinks, bakery goods, and refreshments are available, as well as seasonal menus. Staff are very nice and friendly. My favourite part is that, the owner is an artist. Her paintings are displayed in the little place.
