This beautiful matcha/red bean cake is as delicious as it looks! Rabbit Hole cakes are moist, flavorful and the perfect level of sweetness. Such a cute cafe. They don't have regular drip coffee or decaf of any kind, but several espresso-based drinks and teas. Although I didn't try any of the desserts they all looked fantastic.

This is great place for cakes, i ordered birthday cake and it was exactly the same in looks and tastes great. I asked for same cake at other places as i am new to city and i found a lot expensive options than here and there was no guarantee for same looks. They are very firm for price as well . I have no idea how is possible to make cappuccino and americano so tasteless. Americano tastes like diluted coffee without even smell of it. The cappuccino was served in a 350-400 ml cup, like every kind of beverage in the cafe.

Perfect spot! Things I loved: -The place really was like a rabbit hole. It's a hidden gem. Perfect getaway when you need a quiet relaxing atmosphere. -The artwork on the walls was so creative and cute. -Latte was light and SO SMOOTH! Was not too sweet. Perfectly blanced. -First time trying a French macarons and I was not at all disappointed. I'd get this again in a heartbeat. -Server was extremely friendly, welcoming, and polite. -They have a wheelchair lift, so the entrance is accessible! Things I didn't like: -Absolutely none. I'll be back again for certain!! :)

This is my all time favourite café in Halifax. I love the coffee (and i'm very picky with coffee), and the cakes not only look amazing but they taste great as well. Contrary to what you'll find all throughout Nova Scotia, these Japanese style cakes are very light on flour, sugar and butter, so you can enjoy them without feeling weighed down afterwards, and you're not overwhelmed with sweetness. I can actually eat an entire slice, frosting included. Everything is made from scratch and hand crafted by a self taught baker. Her designs are immaculate, neat, and unique, and she always dishes out something new. My favourite so far are the ones with fruit between the layers, especially the strawberry and mango, but they also have blueberry, taro and matcha. These are so fresh, and enlightening, it's unbelievable. They also have rare cheesecake, macaroons and a few other things seem to pop up every now and then. It's safe to say that the only persons who won't enjoy the treats are those looking for a mouthful of sugar, which really is all that's been available in most western cultures, to say the least. Now a bit about the café.. The decor is gorgeous. Simple, elegant, mostly white with black illustrations and blue and grey accents. The seating is comfortable and as the name suggests it makes you feel like you've gone done the rabbit hole into an animated world. The conversations here are generally hushed, making it a great place for small hangouts, studying or maybe just some quiet time. So, good desserts, good coffee, good atmosphere, and not to mention, great staff that really make their all into both their products, and their customers ensuring that we all have a great experience. 5 stars.

Amazing experience every time! What a nice and quiet spot to get work done. Cakes are light, not too sweet, and airy unlike what some reviewers are used to. They use a real whipped cream as the icing. Tastes amazing. Espresso beverages are made perfectly with some of the best latte art I've seen in a while. Beautiful décor and reasonable prices for a way better experience than the Starbucks nearby.

Wanted to come here for the Halifax Asian Food Festival. Yup everything sold out. If you are going to be a participant, bake more cakes. Risk a little even if you fear it won’t sell out. Tsujiri did and still had cakes for sell. I wasn’t able to sample their amazing cakes (wanted to see what the fuss was about) as my vacation ended the next day.

Rabbit hole is quite a lovely place in Halifax. It's spacious and the decorations are quite lovely. Whether you come on to work on something, or catch you with a friend over a delicious cup of coffee, this is the place. I really love the decoration. I'm a big fan of the Taro cake, but again it may be a certain taste for some and not everyone. The coffee is spot on. Definitely worth a stop.

Very aesthetically pleasing. Comfortable atmosphere and lighting. Their desserts are yummy, not extremely sweet and very light. The coffeeshop uses environment friendly material and utinsles, i love their sleek forks by the way. The prices are a little more expensive compared to average desserts, but they are worth it. Parking can be hard to find around downtown area, so you have to walk for a few minutes. Toilets are a little uncomfortable. Wheelchair accessible entrance. Wifi available.

The absolute best Strawberry cake I have ever had, and the cappuccinos are well balanced with a rich, medium bold smooth espresso. The Cake: prior to this, my favourite strawberry cake was the crepe cake at Lady M's in New York City. I once went to NYC and just ate dessert for the whole trip, so I've tried a few cakes - this Strawberry Cake at Rabbit Hole is miles better than any other strawberry cake I have tried. The cake is spongy, not crumbly, and the icing is aerated and smooth - and the tangy surprise of a real Strawberry here and there intermixed was such a delight! The Vibe: very relaxing music Playlist. I absolutely love it, would play it at home. I came during a slow time, so I was the only customer here and it was very relaxing. I'm sure there are other times when it is much busier, especially with coffee so good! The Coffee: bold, smooth, earthy espresso, smooth mixture of coffee with milk and the foam was beautifully textured. My palate is delighted! I will definitely return and also recommend to all of my friends!

Had a friend get a cake from here. They literally used paper on top of the cake for design instead of edible material. The cake itself was so drenched in food colouring it coloured our mouths and fingers into the next day. They were also very late with the order. Normally wouldn’t take the time to write a review good or bad. But this was insane, especially considering the price.

Since, the place is fairly new so, still, looks pretty clean. Too bad there was only two selections of cake on display when I came, but I think, they bake their goodies downstairs. I tried their bubble tea cake and I like it - almost same texture as cheesecake but not as sweet and not as creamy. I like their mocha latte. The server seems nice.

It was pretty good! I got a salted caramel latte and it was really, really good. If you're going to buy any of the cake don't expect much flavor. Even the mango cheesecake was pretty bland. Aside from the cakes, I'd recommend the place for the drinks alone. It's a really relaxing place as well! Super minimalistic designs on the walls and a big open space.

Great fluffy Japanese style cake. You can taste real butter in it and know that it is high quality! Three issues with this cafe: 1.too many students linger around to work on their computer for hours and there is almost no table available. 2. Whipping cream has food colour. Why don’t you keep it white rather than making it pink or yellow or green? 3. They offer only 2-3 kinds available each time. So, your favorite cake may not be available when you get there.

This place is awesome! The location is a bit hidden but worth looking for it! The coffee is generally great there. But really the star here is the cakes. They always have a good variety of unique cakes from matcha to taro flavors! The prices are reasonable for the quality of the product! Cakes are always fresh and moist with a punchy flavor that isn't too sweet that the sugar overpowers the more subtle tastes. Parking is limited to Street parking but for the area it is the norm. Decor is well done. Very clean and modern. Seating well spaced and ample. Overall great!
