amazing place to spend an afternoon. they have great craft beers, cane sugar sodas, a selection of great tasting food! (try the Quesadilla as a burrito) light snacks including chips and candy and some great desserts like cheese cake! they have so many games its almost intimidating but the staff and owner are extremely well versed in almost every game so they always have recommendations for you. Best part is... they love to teach you how to play so you don't need to trudge through a rule book. A++ would bang again

This place is funky awesome. Staff is great!! Did not have anything to eat (but, bet its good) tho we did have a couple specialty coffee and both were tasty and hot. There is a substantial amount of games. Definitely recommend this games cafe to all ages.

What a great experience! Staff are amazing here, THE BEST customer service I've had, made me forget I was even in Grande Prairie. .. My date for the night was less than stellar but staff did not make me feel awkward or embarrassed about it. I bought a membership and this will be my new escape, so many good eats, more games than you could shake a stick at, as well they have tabletop rollplay nights which I have been dieing to get back into, can't wait to try! I've been wanting to check this place out since I arrived in GP and am so happy that I did.

Every other cafe has been ruined for me as nothing else even comes close to the bar that Card's Board Game Cafe has set. The owners are fantastic people and love to help the community. The staff are well trained and extremely polite. The family feel and friendly environment that you get while experiencing the games, food, and service truly make you feel at home. I was able to purchase a puzzle and board game for my mom, which was delivered for free just a few hours after placing my online order. Really neat "little" place. First of all, they feature a not insubstantial selection of new and classic board games, a nice array of craft beers (yes, they have a liquor license), and coffee drinks that are definitely pretty decent. While I certainly wouldn't spend hours here the way I would at any other establishment (unless I went in to play some games), the vibe is also really laid back. And though I can't really speak for most of their food menu items they do have a great selection of homemade baked goods. Also, if you ask for some gummi bears, they serve them to you in an espresso cup.

I've been to a few of the best board game cafes in a few cities, and they don't compare to Cards, it's my single favourite thing about this city.

A local gem! The staff are always quite friendly and knowledgeable of the game selection. They have a decent selection of craft beer and snacks reasonably priced. Yes, just two people can have fun here!! There are a combo of more cozy spots for games and then the classic wooden chair at the kitchen table set up, which for some, may remind you of playing board games at the grandparents place. Either way, if you're in GP and have a couple hours to burn, or want to throw it back on a fun date night, check this place out!

Went in to scope out the cafe and just browse their collections of board games. It's impressive to say the least, came out slightly stuffed with a smile. Ended up trying their tuna melt which was surprisingly good, the dill dip is pretty delicious as well. Had a San Pellegrino & bailey's w/ coffee to help digest the cafe snacks I had.

My favourite evening place to socialize! For only $5 you can play as many card or board games as you like all evening long. The food is delicious, seats are comfy, it's family friendly, and sometimes they even host special events. My sister and I attended their "Halloween night." The ceiling was liberally strewn with cobwebs and all the staff was dressed up! The lady in charge was the Queen of Hearts! Since it was a full house, we sat at different people's tables, made friends, and tried new games. Had dinner there too--I got the "all dill platter" which included deep-fried pickles. We even played a group game called "werewolf" which is like mafia. The wolves won. Also, we won second prize in the couples costume contest!

Without saying anything about the group fun you have with friends, the board game cafe is a great place to go for an evening with friends. Extremely accomadating and friendly staff it's always a pleasure coming back they make you feel welcome and they bring with them a sense of comfort where there your friend and you almost just wanna go back and say hi! There snacks are enjoyable and they serve bottled beer which are usually stuff you wouldn't typically find at a generic bar so it forces you to try new and exciting drinks which I haven't had one i hated yet so it's a nest little experience. Board games USUALLY have all the pieces, it's rare when you can't play the game and they also have an incredible selection to choose from as well as comfortable sofas and decent chairs to lounge in while you play your games. My friends and I enjoy coming here every month or two and it's a place I will continue bringing my business to!
