REVIEWS OF Brise Bise IN Gaspé

The service here was quite good, better than some of the places we visited on our trip to Gaspe. Overall, the food was enjoyable. The ingredients were local and fresh, which was a huge bonus for us. Prices seem to be pretty consistent with other prices in the area, which is to say a bit pricier than other, less touristy parts of the province. Shrimp poutine seems to be a local thing, as we noticed it on a few menus. We decided to try it, as when else would we get the opportunity to try a shrimp poutine. It was... Different. The shrimp was definitely fresh and tasty on their own, but the poutine itself felt light, and it kind of took away from the heart of a classic, heavy poutine. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Sun-dried Tomato Linguini. It was quite good, and the amount of salmon was perfect. I would have, however, preferred the cuts of salmon not to be so thick or as big. Thinner and smaller cuts, with the same proportions might have made each bite a tad more satisfying, as sometimes it felt like I had a big chunk of salmon with my pasta, where as other times it was just pasta with no salmon. Overall though, the pasta was still quite delicious, and the salmon flavour was really imparted into the dish itself. If you're in Gaspe and looking for a place to eat, we would definitely recommend Brise Bise.

Great restaurant, quite pricey but Gaspé tends to be expensive. The calamari was excellent, not too chewy or oily and it came with a nice aioli sauce. The portion size was a little small but it was one of the cheaper appetizers so it wasn't unexpected. I had the shrimp and smoked salmon club for my main course and it was refreshing and delicious. The fries were great as well and the Pit Caribou black beer was very nice. The service was good too, waitresses were nice and food did not take too long to arrive.

You must try the seafood nachos! Expensive but worth it. Also the bouillabaisse was the best ever— totally my favourite thing any of us had there! Our waitress was wonderful. We ate way too much.

The food is really good and the restaurant is really nice. Don't expect to get a cheap meal bit the portions are pretty good and the quality of the food is great. I ordered the shrimp poutine and the club sandwich with lobster. Both were amazing. Whoever decided to put shrimp on poutine is a genius.

We visited twice during our time in Gaspe. The staff is super friendly and if you ask them what they recommend, take their advice! The seafood is super fresh and just overall a really cool vibe.

Great food. Staff is excellent. Beer is local. Nice selecting of wines. All this in a great little town. Cannot reserve though. Must wait in line. What more can you ask for

Stopped in for lunch on a September Saturday. Service was friendly and fast, the food was very good. We had a nice table overlooking the harbour and York river. Highly recommended!

Wonderful views and pleasant walks on the hiking routes.the land's end is a special treat for the eye on a sunny day.

I was impressed with the selection of local beers on tap. The nachos were quite big and we couldn't finish them(very salty though) and the salss was not homemade. I was very disappointed when I got the shrimp poutine. The fries and gravy were hot but the shrimp was cold. Almost frozen. Would be a lot better if it was fresh instead of the frozen mini shrimp. Not a bad place. Sit outside out back if you can, the view is nice.

Great views! Cosy and cute location. Good food. Some options are much better than others. Bouillabaisse was pretty good but unfortunately the fried clams were not. Staff are very friendly and can mostly help you in English and French.

Atelier Ritz

A bit on the pricy side but the vibe, the view from the patio, and the seafood make you feel it’s worth every penny! As of the service: When we first arrived there were not a table for 4 people, but the waitress agreed to put together two tables so that we can get together. Highly appreciated!

Food was authentic and tasty. Service was friendly. Sangria was nothing special.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure at first what a crevettes poutine would be like, but Brise Bise knows what they’re doing. Everything that came to our table, from the Coquille filled with seafood to the risotto with lobster and scallops, to the fish and chips and shared strawberry cheesecake was great. A must-eat when in Gaspé.

It's on small downtown Street of Gaspe. Food taste was amazing. Just an FYI their online menu is not an updated one.

Eric

Great food and staff was friendly. The location was nicely located in the center of town. The meals were slightly small.

Nicolas Barakat

Vegetarian here so I got the veggie burger which was pretty substantial and tasted great. My wife had the seafood linguine and enjoyed it. More lobster than she anticipated, which was welcome. Service can be a bit slow if you're in a hurry.

Ioana Bruj

Super friendly staff, extremely delicious food. I absolutely recommend their bouillabaisse, although be warned: it's a sizeable portion!

Shelby Arcay

Nachos 5 star, the rest of the food I give a 4. Definitely a good spot to check out when in town.

Not a fancy place but the food is pretty good! Prices are reasonable, service is great and food is very good compared to city seafood! We came from Ottawa as a result fresh seafood is not very common We ordered calamari and fish and chips. The calamari was great! Super fresh and tasted amazing. The sauce that came with it was great too. The salad actually was very good as well. The fish for the fish and chips where great. Super fresh also and badder was not thick. We upgraded the fries to poutine but was charged $5! That was not cool because the poutine was super small! The poutine was not good! The gravy was zesty! I know how can a gravy be zesty not salty? ORDER ONLY Seafood! 10/10 Poutine 6/10 Enjoy

One of the only restaurants in town besides the “cantines”

Michael Tsoller

Average food, friendly service, nice location with a terasse. Took the seafood linguini, it was slightly watery and lukewarm.

Erika

Extremely overpriced for small portions and mediocre food I could make better at home.

Moobinah F

While the staff was lovely, the lobster I ordered was terrible. The party I came with were similarly disappointed with their orders, especially given the high prices. If you absolutely must eat here, the seafood nachos were okay (compared to everything else).

Stephen Cheng

Fresh seafood and amazing taste!

David Gibbins

Definitely the best restaurant in Gaspe. Unfortunately the line up is long but its worth the wait. great food and lots of choice. thanks to Quebec passport its safe to eat inside

Food was great. Especially poke bowl with shrimp was really good. At first it didn't look appealing but the taste was amazing. The service was amazing too.

Scott Payette

Not worth the wait. We stood in line for over an hour before being seated with service being quite slow.. Food was better then what other restaurants were offering at the time in Gaspe, but it was exceptionally pricey. The seafood was obviously frozen from a wholesaler instead of fresh from the wharf. We had better fare in Perce.

Georgina

The service here is amazing! We ate here twice while we were in Gaspe. The food is good by small town standards so lower your expectations if you are from a larger city. They close early too (even on the weekends) so make sure to go early. The lobster club sandwich was my favourite meal.

Terry If

We loved this place. My kids couldn't stop saying how it's there favorite place. We went at 5h00pm and it was good since there's a huge lineup every day for dinner. We had bouillabaisse and it was delicious, the lobster club sandwich, delish! The seafood nachos was ok. The calamari were good Kids menu had pizza with fries and a drink with dessert. The waiter was very nice and professional

Trish L

Lauren, the hostess, was excellent! She was so nice, friendly, and did a great job of processing all the patrons with proof of vaccination, etc, all the while switching back and forth French to English. The dinners were good, the Caesar salad was excellent!
