Its It's very clean, not overly busy so you can still respectively distant yourself from others. My mother actually works there so we shop there often. (No they dont get a discount for working there...sigh..) The old manager Charlie has retired, shame he was a very nice man.... and Patty the new one has taken over and judging by the awful turn over rate there it mustn't be going very well for her.

this is more a review for the people who were thinking of working here. Dont. on more then one occasion i was belittled and bullied by the assistant manager. she clearly doesnt know where the line between professional and personal is. i put 4 years of my time into that store and all i got was passive agressive old ladies and dirt pay. if your looking for a place to ruin your self-image and confidence then i suggest working here but if you cherish sanity and not hating your job, never set foot in here. oh yea and if you ever ask to become full time they'll actually laugh at you because there hasnt been a full time position open to anyone under 40 in 10 years.

It seams that a good bakery is hard to find, but Metro bakes normal Turnovers. This has been a find. Sure turnovers can be found in two other locations, but not the same. One flavor in particular that Metro makes is my fav Raspberry. I have found they are ok, but if you coul use a real raspberry jam filling like Smuckers it would make spending the almost $5.00 for a box of 4 worth my drive from the opposite end of town. You make turnovers good, but how about making the best turnovers?

Good quality produce and meat. They have what this store manager calls "WOW, what a deal" sales (a sign right at entrance way) on various items, weekly - especially on their butcher shop products - they truly are good deals. Their hot food, ready for pick-up is decent, but even more than decent is their pizza - you can call the store, ask for the deli, and pre-order your pizza pie. They use fresh ingredients (obviously, as they use ingredients from the store, and when cooked properly, is one of the better pies in town). This being said, when you get a veteran pizza maker their 'za is great, however, on the rare occasion, depending on who cooks it, it may come out a tad soggy (still edibly good). This location sells beer/cider/wine.

Night shift employee/ manager completely rude and ignorant to paying customers. Left and inexperienced cashier at the only till open at 11:30 PM. She tried to leave a second time to go back to an important job receiving product in the back and was going to leave 16 people in line until several customers spoke up to her. Not impressed with this metro. The produce spoils quickly and the quality is not the greatest. The hot foods sold in the deli such as wedges and chicken fingers are dry and stale. I have often found milk and yogurt days past its best before date on the shelf. I bought dog treats once that had a best before date of a year prior. Their packaged bake goods (muffins) are dry and tasteless. One approximately five occasions I bought garbage tags at the cash which they don't hand to you until after you have paid even upon reminding them they still forgot to put them in my bag causing me to have to return once home or have to keep track and remind them.....the list goes on and on. Save money go to no frills plus their produce is not only cheaper but better quality.

I've been shopping at the North Bay Metro for eight years. I love this Metro because it has a great selection of organic fruit and vegetables, eggs and meat, gluten-free foods as well as some cool international foods. I really love that they sell plain kefir and soup bones. (Bones can be tricky to find in grocery stores). Also, the cashiers are friendly and helpful and will pack your bags carefully. My only complaint is that there is rarely someone working behind the fish counter. The fresh seafood selection is great. But good luck trying to find anyone to serve you.

Great produce and meat selection. Beware of the deli section. Last week, I purchased Irresistible Artisan Goat's Milk Cheese. When I went to use it, I realized it was out of date... 3 MONTHS OUT OF DATE! I went to Metro today but could not return for a refund since I lost my receipt. I thought it was wise to alert the staff at the deli about the out of date product but when I tried to explain, I was responded to in a rude manner. The employee immediately went on the defensive and all I was trying to do was give them a heads up about an issue they could easily correct. Since the employees are unable to properly respond to my concerns, I implore the public to be aware of the expiration date on the products you purchase here.

The store is somewhat small but I was able to find much of what we were looking for. For any other US visitors not well acquainted with the metric system or good at fast math to derive the USD price of things, prepare for a somewhat overwhelming experience. At checkout the cashier was less than lively. When I went to bag the groceries, he asked how many plastic bags I would need prior to bagging. This process is foreign to me and probably would be to any US visitor from a state that allows plastic bags without tax. I very much appreciate their efforts at environmentalism but how was I supposed to know how many bags I would need before I started bagging.Thankfully their reusable totes were a great price and well constructed. From what I understand l, the two grocers we went to in Ganonoque are the only two in the city. If that's true, this is the best grocer in Ganonoque.

This Metro has a great selection of produce and a decent organic section. They have live lobsters and in the deli plenty of fine meats and cheeses for building your own appetizer board. The wine rack serves up your favorite VQA wines and some selections of international blends. You can rent a steam cleaner. Buy a lotto ticket and even wire money to a friend, relative or to pay a late bill. Not to mention they have a flower shop and a pharmacy. This Downtown Orillia stop has it all.

9 out of 10 times I would rate this particular Metro a five out of five star rating however earlier this week literally minutes before 7 a.m. I ran into the front entrance of this Metro in despair I have been physically attacked while walking behind the maple Motel right next door man tried to steal my purse I managed to run away wow using one shoe the women that's in front door could clearly see that I was in need of help and denied me access to use the washroom to clean myself up as I had clearly been crying .Instead I was refused to enter the building while the employee stood there staring at me in disgust well all I needed to really do was seek help from the authorities

Location really is everything. I view this store as a necessity, mostly because it serves as one of the closest grocery stores in the downtown district and is where a lot of downtown residents do their weekly shopping. The prices are fairly steep on most products, and the shoppers are sometimes undesirable customers (drunk, impaired, or just plain rude), but as for convenience it pretty much can't be beat. TLDR; Go in and get out; don't make a habit of shopping there unless you have to, because there are definitely cheaper stores in town.

Metro has good quality items but you pay a premium price for them. It is conveniently located downtown and operates 24 hours for the majority of the year, closing infrequently on holidays such as Christmas. If you have coupons or there is a good deal to take advantage of it is worth a visit. But it is too expensive to do your regular shopping in. You can get the same quality items for less at other stores.

Hours are always convenient (Typically 24 hours a day). Parking is adequate and close to downtown. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. The store can get busy but never too long that it's a nuisance. You can collect and redeem Air Miles at Metro too which is an awesome feature. As the owner of a small business I eat out for lunch 3-5 times a week. I have stopped by this location twice for my lunch and both times the staff who looked after the hot food area as always extremely rude and not very helpful at all. I must say I am disappointed in the recent quaility of metro. This used to be a fine establishment but in the past few months has been going down hill. I purchased milk here that was curdled 2 weeks before expiration. I believe they have a refrigeration problem.. I've bought two bags of cereal that were open inside the box. And a box of crackers that was open as well. In addition the produce is not as fresh as it used to be. Especially the organic produce which is most often gone bad. Again I suspect a refrigeration problem. Also I find most the employees of this establishment to be rude and unhelpful. They hardly make eye contact with you as you cash out. Two stars

Well lit grocery store with a vast selection. There is a bakery, a deli, a seafood section, and a "fresh2go" counter with hot food ready to go. The produce section is excellent. I highly recommend the wraps that are available near the fresh2go counter, especially the cranberry turkey ones. Somewhat higher prices than your average grocery store. There is a coinstar machine past the checkouts, and a small section that offers a somewhat sparse selection of house plants and cut flowers.

OUTLoud North Bay

This place ROCKS. HUGE selection of products for all the vegans in North Bay. Make the trip down that way. Tofurkey, Daiya, Yves, Holley Veggie, Soyo etc... = Cruelty free heaven. Thanks to James for my tofurkey festive dinner rolls. My family all vegans were able to enjoy our first thanksgiving dinner. Just moved here from down south. Very thankful they carry these products.

Not always fresh. Metro had to step up their game on produce and either "fresh" herbs. It's bad when you have to throw out over half of the product because it has gone bad or rotten over night after purchasing.

I called four different times in 4 days to order flowers from the floral department. Once, she was busy so I said I would call back. I called back twice but the store never picked up the phone! I called again today only to find that the floral person has left for the day. Now I can't even take my business elsewhere because it's such short notice.

I recently switched from No Frills to Metro. I find when they have a sale on meat, the sale is usually priced right and the meat is much better. I also like their produce because I am not throwing it out in 2 days. However, their prices are too high for most groceries so I will still be shopping at No Frills and Giant Tiger for staples.
