Being next door to Ming Teh, which is great Chinese food, it took me a while to finally try Happy Jacks. The food here is delicious. Fort Erie is low on a lot of diversity when it comes to food, but American style Chinese food isn't included; there's a glut of it here and it's all good.

When I first stepped into Happy Jack's, the inside was pretty crowded but I wasn't to worried because I was going to sit at the patio that came with the restaurant. The staff were pretty nice and the price wasn't too expensive.The food came really early and I didn't expect it. When all the food arrived, it was really good so I would give this 4 out of 5 stars.

Stopped in for lunch. The place was empty, I was the only eat-in customer at that time. One of the owners was my server and he was not very polite. The small bowl he brought to my table containing the hot mustard had dried up mustard surrounding the rim of the bowl which made me wonder how long the mustard had been sitting in the bowl? Food was so-so but overall bad service. I will not be a return customer.

Took the family to Happy Jacks for the first time yesterday. We sat on the patio overlooking the water. Service was quick friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. Probably the best Chinese food we've ever had. Will definitely be back and will recommend it to family and friends.

Food was bad and service was worse. Spring rolls and egg rolls were not like I am used to and chicken fried rice was bland with more mushrooms than chicken. It took a while to get our drinks and I asked for more water and a couple of minutes later after filling my water she came by and scolded me... "I give you more water and you no drink it." Then she again scolded us after our meal "You order 1 meal to split and no finish."

Horrible place . I took my wife here for dinner and the owner was so annoying the people in the room kept on rolling their eyes and laughing when he goes around talking to everyone. My wife didn't like the food at all and I felt annoyed when I was there. There is way better places in Fort Erie

We had early dinner there last night and the food was pretty good. My eggplant dish was a little bland but still tasty. The fried jumbo shrimps were delicious and so were the other dishes that we had ordered. Just this spring we were in China and honestly the food here was more tasty then in China. Shocking but true...... Service was great as always. The only thing that really could use some change is the interior decor, it's outdated and not very inviting.

Went for Dinner recently and was blown away! We were informed that all of the sauces for each dish were homemade in-house, and boy it shows! The meal presentations were exquisite and the dishes themselves had great portions. We also enjoyed the patio area at the back overlooking the Niagara River. Jack and Alvin run the best Chinese food restaurant not in China in my opinion. These guys have been doing this their entire lives. I go every chance I get, and would rate them 6 stars if I could. EDIT: if you enjoy frozen Chinese food, or the crap you get from a Wal-Mart deli... Well... Good on you. I have had MANY MEALS FROM "authentic" Chinese restaurants, and nothing comes close to the quality and taste at Happy Jacks. That is the reason I go into Canada anymore besides the expos. Haters are just gonna hate, I suppose.

Great classic Canadian/American-style Chinese food. Seems like management has been passed on to next generation, which is good because bathrooms and interior are a throwback to 30 years ago. Entryway looks like a lobby of an old movie theater complete with the glass cabinet of snacks. Really badly needs to shut down for a month or two and do a complete interior renovation so that customers on a trip to the restroom aren't forced to question their decision to have eaten the food there.

Attention!!! By far the best Chinese food on the Niagara Peninsula. If not Ontario. I'm not sure about msg options. Food is fresh. Eating in is always a great experience. Waiting staff usually very new to Canada ,so be patient with their English ( but the are very good at thier jobs.) I always feel like leaving an extra large tip) Take out is always fast and hot and fresh. Management is good to great, depending on who is working. Never had a bad experience. We travel from Niagara falls often for dinner, and eat at one of the beautiful rest/ parking areas along the Niagara Parkway ( most have picnic tables and garbage cans. The restaurant also has a great patio on the back of the restaurant overlooking the Niagara River. Secret tip, ask for the special wings????( not on menu). Hope this helps!!

My family has ordered food here many times. The food always delicious and fresh. Unfortunately the last 3 times we have ordered it has been awful. We have received horrible tasting, reheated and old tasting food 3 times in a row. We had a chicken dish that tasted like the plastic container it was served in (im assuming reheated in the container) spring rolls, egg rolls and chicken balls that were cold and hard but had that look and taste like they were cooked some time ago. The first 2 times i thought it was a fluke but now after 3 times in a row I'm just offended. I am disappointed that they think its acceptable to serve food like this. You know what your doing when something is reheated or you serve someone food that has been sitting around for a while. Owners seem like very nice people and I would want to know if my customers were having these experiences.

All of the food we ordered tasted good however our main dish, lobster chun king, the most expensive offering on the menu at $50 + was a huge disappointment. It was advertised as containing two 5 to 6 oz. Lobster tails so we ordered it expecting exactly that, but since they were cooked in cut up shells, we had to work especially hard to dig out the overcooked meat and were lucky to be able to pick out 3 oz. at best. Management's response to our comments was nonchalant and we paid full price for our trouble. Not a result that will bring us back!

We always enjoy our take out from Happy Jack's. This evening we had a large dinner for 8 on the back patio. Alvin was very friendly and accomodating and our food was wonderful. We ordered a bunch of fun drinks which were instagram worthy (fun tropical umbrella drinks). The view of the river is one of the best you can find. Highly recommended.

Went with my fiancé and son. We both got our food mine was good and came first his was a bit later and he had a hair in it. When we told them they very nicely apologized and took it back and said they would make a new one. When it came back it was not even five minutes later, cold, and the vegetables tasted watery. It was almost as if they were just rinsed off and thrown back on the plate. Very upset with how the staff handled this situation and would not recommend this place.

The rice we ordered had gone bad and when I called to have new rice delivered they refused and only offered a credit. Couldn't enjoy the rest of the food after that. Very disappointed.

This is a classic Chinese Canadian food spot beside the Niagara River. On the patio you have a great view of the river and the Peace Bridge in the distance. Seeing Buffalo across the river is a fun experience. When we arrived my son saw an Amtrak train across the river heading north and was staring at it until it disappeared. The food was good...a bit salty but no major issues. The Lemon Chicken was very good. My wife really enjoyed the chicken fried rice.

Sadly very disappointed in my dish today. This is my second time ordering from this place. I ordered different items both time .. First time i would rate the food 3... Big chucks of veggies and little meat... However tonight, i order beef with Bok Choy and side of steamed rice... So basically I'm eating starch and stems. This dish there's like no green part of bok choy (the vegetable) all stems which is basically no nutrition with very little beef... Overall disspointed for the $$ spent... Will just back to my regular place in Ridgeway.

With a great menu of specialty and regular selections, you can mix and match to get the exact meal you desire...or take the easy way, choosing from preset choices. The food is always fresh, flavourful, cooked to perfection - seafood, sizzling dishes, vegetable choices, noodle and rice dishes, homemade egg and spring rolls...it's all THE BEST!!! The welcome by the owners, the friendly service and homey atmosphere make it a very enjoyable experience. Check out the patio too (in the warmer weather). I'm looking forward to Chinese New Year celebrations!!!! Keep up the good work guys!!! (Chopsticks are available for the brave hearted...)

I had the Shanghai noodles today and they were about the best I've had anywhere. I also had the breaded shrimp which really disappointed me this time. It was 90% dough with tiny shreds of dry flat shrimp in them, really disappointing. I was still grateful because most of their food is the bomb and it's so close to home.

We decided to try Happy Jacks because it was advertised at out hotel. The service was friendly and fast but the food was just okay. The sweet and sour chicken had more batter than chicken which was a bit disappointing but the beef and broccoli had tons of beef and broccoli too. It was also unfortunate that the patio was closed because of a chance of rain as that was one of the drawing freatures of the restaurant.

My husband and I went to Happy Jacks for the first time this past Monday. We sat on the patio which overlooks the water. We were amazed at how good the food was. All the dishes we ordered reminded us of some of our favourites in Montreal. The service was great, staff was pleasant. I believe we were served by one of the owners. Portions are large - we had enough leftovers for 1 or 2 more meals. As seniors we cannot eat as much as we previously did. We will certainly be back and will recommend it to family and friends.

Worst food experience I ever had. won ton mein .bowl of broth with noodles no veggies.order general tao chicken to go.when got home it was a container of mush.no flavor at all.then I was belittled at the cash register for using my google pay.said they do not allow it because people could fraudulently use it.after I explained that I did not have my wallet he decided that he would allow the tap only this time.then belittled ne for not carrying my wallet for ID.then tried to explain to me that Fraud happens, he knows because he works for the government.very rude person.will never go there again.the only pleasant person I encountered was the young man who brought me my takeout.

Pretty much a south end of Fort Erie landmark, here you'll meet three of the friendliest business brothers this side of the Peace Bridge. Oh, and did I mention they serve delicious Chinese and Canadian dishes on an outdoor patio with a panoramic view of the Niagara River? Family-owned since the 1970s by the late Jack's three sons, Alvin, Jeffery and Jack Chew.

I've been going to Happy Jack's for many years. It's been a little while since we were there and we went there tonight with friends from out of town. It was the first time for them and it was very disappointing. I've never walked out if there unhappy before. If tonight was our first time we'd never be back. Out of 4 meals, 3 were very bland. This was brought to their attention. Even the egg rolls were sub par. Worse yet, nothing was done to remedy an extremely poor meal and extremely dissatisfied

I love Chinese food and a year ago would tell you this place's food is great. But during and shortly after both myself and husband's last 4 trips eating there we got very very sick. The meat in our dishes were slimmy and had a bad smell to it. We discovered the Health Department had put many infractions against them that they were not correcting. I would suggest before eating here to go to the Niagara Health Department website and see if this restaurant has infractions against them. Unfortunately we will no longer be eating here.
