Best coffee and sandwich
New Review: I was contacted by the owner about giving them another chance. They were understanding and offered a coffee on the house if I decided to come in again. I tried another iced coffee, which was great this time. Then I got their iced tea, breakfast cookie, and sandwich. Everything was delicious, and I was very impressed with their service. I also learned their cups and straws are bio degradable. Original Review: Nice looking place, but I was disappointed with the service. They didn't greet us at all when we came to the front, and the *iced coffee* I ordered was more like *coffee flavoured ice.*
Good coffee.Good bagel.
Great coffee, smoothies and food at a low price
Friendly service and great coffee! Not a lot of seating but it's quite cute inside as well. Love that they have bowls of water outside for pups walking by.
Great coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service. Love the atmosphere.
Great local coffee shop. Sandwiches are very tasty
The cafe space is nice but the food is very underwhelming for the price.
Friendly staff, chatty customers from the Neighbourhood :)
Very cosy and viby! It’s a tiny place but it’s got nice table to do some work or have a meeting. Their coffee is 7/10 but good food! Nice staff as well Parking might be annoying depending on the timing you’re going there
One of the best local coffee shops in Etobicoke.
Ambience, coffee
I like the coffee and service
Forgot how good the cappuccino is here! Just had a vegan cookie too and it was very tasty.
Pretty decent coffee shop in the west end. I would give a 3.5 if that was possible cause it’s slightly above your average but not amazing. Got an iced latte with oat milk, butter coffee and a chicken club. The drinks all tasted quite good but I’m not sure how fresh the oat milk was because there were chunks in the drink, didn’t taste bad though. The chicken club was hands down the best part of my order! Tasted super fresh and delicious, the bread was perfectly toasted as well. If definitely come back here just for that. The inside is really cute and small, very bright with plants and a bit of seating post—COVID. The service was really great, fast and very helpful too.
Nice atmosphere but was pretty surprised by, what in my opinion was, unrealistic pricing.
Excellent Americano, and the breakfast cookie is very delicious.
Very nice place
Fast service, very kind people, an amazing hong kong ice tea, this place is amazing
Really great espresso cafe! Excellent staff, great coffee beans for sale (direct trade, local roast, 12$/half pound), and always great music.
Great little coffee shop. Love supporting local shops in my neighborhood when I can.
Great Location for coffee. Would recommend!
Great place to get a cup of coffee & study or work remotely. staff were friendly.
Great little coffee shop. They make you feel special every time, even though they don't write your name on the cup. Their specialty coffees will make you jolt and dance the Macarena all day at work.
Great coffee. Honey and organic sugar is available which I love most. A low-key cafe that's down-to-earth. Has colouring books and a free library which I thought was a nice touch. Bit small with very limited seating area, but gotta support local!
Delicious coffee and friendly staff!
Cute coffee shop with good quality coffee. Small but usually a seat.
The idea behind The Black Goat cafe it truly amazing/smart, the food and coffee is perfect. The Black Goat is greater than I even thought it would be. Everything is hand made and they take their time to get it just perfect. Much quieter than your normal coffee cafes or stores.
Good service and excellent coffee. Didn't try any of the baked goods but they looked good. I'd go back to try their other speciality coffees like the Vietnamese style or Hong Kong style coffee
Small but food service, tasty cookies, local coffee
Excellent staff, friendly atmosphere, free Wifi and reasonable prices.
I was very pleased with the staff laura was very fast at making my order and was very nice when we had short conversation I will definitely be coming back because the dark night she made was the best I ever had!
I don't order a simple tea or coffee. This place has great options and variety. Love trying new concoctions. Great muffins too.
Excellent coffee shop.
My new favourite local cafe. Quick service, friendly staff, great menu selection. Recommend their HK Milk Tea!
Super friendly staff and wonderful ambiance. Coffee is delicious and affordable. I think I just found my new favourite local coffee shop!!!
As a coffee enthusiast living in the West End I really like to explore what this area of the city can offer when it comes to a good cuppa. I was excited to visit the Black Goat since it looked an inviting space on Google and BlogTo. However, as soon as me and my husband stepped in the store the barista kinda "attacked us" with a question: "What can I get for you?" We barely arrived, and that was our first visit there. I think as a small business' staff it is crucial to acknowledge new customers. Anyway, we ordered a latte and flat white, in the latter case the barista asked me what size of flat white I wanted. As a barista myself I learnt there's only one size exists when it comes to a flat white in the third wave approach. So I said the small - I guess -, with two shots of ristrettos. The ristretto is the reason why I'm going with a flat white since it contains less caffeine. It did not matter to her; she prepared my drink with espresso shots. Oh, and she asked me: like a cortado, right? I did not even want to start that conversation since clearly we have completely different ideas about a cortado. My complaint isn't about acting snobby, it's about them calling themselves a specialty coffee shop. The latte was served in a messy cup, you could guess that the espresso shots were not pulling right into the paper cup. We needed to wipe the cup off. (Again, not the end of the world, but does matter in the whole experience.) A few comments about the design of the espresso bar: I love how the Rocket espresso machine is placed in the middle of counter, it is truly the gem of the store. However, I do not find it really practical and hygienic to place the box for the used coffee grounds right on the same area where you serve the drinks. I really liked the interior style of the cafe, however, I could notice that not everything has been finished (pencil written signs on the ceiling for example.) In overall, the attitude of the barista, the possible medium-dark roasted espresso beans and taste did not convince us to visit this store again.
Been coming here for 4 years since I started my degree at Humber. Found it when I was trying to look for a cute coffee shop for a date (great place to bring someone to get to know them btw, lol). Life story aside, this place is absolutely lovely. Great food, great coffee. I highly recommend the cafe sua da (with a little bit of milk) and the smoked salmon bagel. This is one of the gems I will miss when I graduate.
Cute and cozy cafe!!! Great sandwiches, teas, coffee, (homemade) baked goodies. The owner is really awesome too. Great service! We go at least once per week. 10 STARS!!!
Great local cafe. Cozy atmosphere. Designs of the cafe is a rusty but simple style. It's a nice place to relax. Just wish it doesnt close so early. There isn't much selection on the menu but the espressos, the iced vietnamese coffee and iced Hong Kong tea latte is perfection.
Magical little coffee joint, full of good humans. One of my favorite spots at the minute
Cozy, clean and a great Latte, at an independently owned cafe. A big reccomend.. let's keep these little guys in business!
Lovely little coffee shop. Has a great vibe.
A small neighbourhood cafe, great for a cup of tea and a healthy small bite. They also offer baked goods which are maybe not quite so healthy, but equally tasty!
Great espresso!!!! Hard to find in Toronto!
Quality coffee, and UNLIKE the cafe across the street from them their cappuccinos and ice coffee aren't 90% milk
Solid local coffee ????????
Found long blond hair in my sandwich and when called to tell them didn’t even get an apology from the employee. Never going back. Going next door to wake up café with a much nicer owner and better prices/choices.
Toasted bagels are surprisingly good. And the coffee isn't bad either.
Cutest cafe ever! Staff is always friendly... it’s a great place to stop by, relax or study! I think their matcha beverages are the best!
Black goat > Starbucks > Tims . Nuff Said.
Got a fantastic espresso on ice and a delicious banana-chocolate muffin in this cozy small coffeeshop with very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Helpful staff and good coffee! ????????
The true GOAT! Black Goat, they’ve got lattes for days!
Even though they are not very vast but their service is great
Great place great coffee ☕
Great coffee and food, and an overall nice atmosphere. If you like good music and turkey sandwiches, I recommend this place.
Great coffee!
I’ve never wrote any reviews(especially bed) but this coffee shop is the place that I would never recommend anyone. It’s a place where barista thinks that THIS looks like a coffee. She couldn’t also simply smile or greet customers. This place could be better if only the stuff knew what they are doing.
I had a cafe misto. It was delicious
She put the perfect amount of cream cheese on my toasted sesame seed bagel!
Great Local Cafe. The coffee is good and the food options are also better than you'd get in the average cafe. Would be a 5 but the espresso beans used could be much better. Much too dark roasted. Very friendly!
amazing staff, great coffee, and cozy atmosphere
Amazing food and super nice staff, very cozy atmosphere
????????friendly atmosphere and great drinks
Great coffee and their sandwiches are a really great deal.
Good coffee, great atmosphere, and really helpful baristas!
The matcha latte was amazing and also the latte. The place is really cool and really friendly staff
Friendly staff. Good coffee. Good cookies.
I work in the area and the black goat is always my first stop, they have great coffee, tea and wonderful service! it's also a great place to study!
Very cute cafe with delicious, strong coffee and fantastic baked goods. They also have tons of alternative milk options. Highly recommend the iced latte (with oat milk!!) and white chocolate cranberry cookie.
Got something called ‘butter coffee’ which is coconut oil and butter blended together and added in with coffee and it was surprisingly very yummy!
Not a lot of seating but it's got a friendly atmosphere. I would have expected the food to be more expensive, but was pleasantly surprised! In a neighbourhood where lunch is often more than 12 dollars I can get a nice little meal here for 8 bucks. I don't understand how people climb their way up onto those high chairs at the window though. I'm TALL and I can't get on them without a fancy maneuver or two.
Most amazing cafe! Always has amazing homemade treats to snack on with their delicious coffee! Staff is always friendly. Great place to sit, relax and work while enjoying a tasty cookie or sandwich!
Good place to go
Delicious drinks! (Americano is my fav) Baked goods are off the chain. Sandwiches are amazing.
This is the third time I went and again, the dark coffee wasnt strong enough. This time I wasnt in a rush so I went back and asked the lady if I could get a refund so I could get something stronger like an americano or drip coffee. She said she couldnt offer me my money back and I would have to pay full price for my second coffee. I explained to her once again that I did not want to pay for a second cup since I did not drink the first. She said there was nothing she could do. Very dissapointed with the service. Ill have to walk to starbucks next time
A great place , i meant some girlfriend for coffee and tea Saturday morning and it was a great experience, very welcoming and very friendly staffs easy to talk to and very professional..any loved the local independent jem !!!!! will definitely be back
Love this place. Everything is handcrafted.. My favourite barista is Kay she makes you feel special every time . new favourite spot !
My favourite place to study. Try the Hong Kong Milk Tea! So tasty <3 <3
Black Goat is a great little coffee shop on Lakeshore in Etobicoke. The space is well decorated and very inviting. The coffee was excellent; I ordered a flat white and it may been the best one I ever had. The barista was very polite and quick with my order. The shop also offers an assortment of cold beverages, sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.
Great little cafe. Espresso drinks are always delicious and cookies are awesome.
Yet another review! Another GREAT staff choice. Virginia is just a pleasure to be around!.. good natured helpful and eager to please.... The neighbourhood now has a variety of coffee choices...staff like Virginia are key to success! My earlier reviews appear below. So....another staff change and I haven't seen the less friendly manager. Basically good coffee and eats are good too....but 4 bucks for a bit of chicken on a salad is a bit much...other food items likewise a tad above what I consider a good value.....but maybe if I wasn't poor I'd think differently ???? After multiple reviews I guess the takeaway is...it depends whose shift you experience. Consistently good coffee...consistently good quality food if not a great value.......but wait time. .. efficient or ....pleasant service ....luck of the draw. Sadly Helen left some time ago and current manager is not nearly as "user friendly" My salad order was messed up (wrong ingredients....and a LOT less of the right ingredients) and she shows little signs of having heard you...or caring. I was in today and mentioned the previous salad....to which she replied "I'm the manager...that's what I give everyone" Suffice it to say a visit to the black goat stands a very good chance of not being the pleasant experience it once was. OK...for now at least that's not what you will be giving me! This time of year a head of lettuce is 1.99....if you can't manage to put an extra leaf of it in a salad (maintain historic portion size) to keep a regular customer...there is a consequence. Helen where are you working now....is it a long drive? Although prices are a bit high especially baked goods.....and seating limited...still a 5...id even give it six! Why? Helen!! Getting better service than Helen gives is flat out impossible! Makes going there a pleasure!
Great local coffee house. Coffee is very good and you cannot beat the salmon bagel! Staff are very friendly. Water available outside door for for legged friends. Nice decor.
Helen was excellent and makes a mean cappuccino.
Great coffee. Very nice staff. Baked treats are tasty too!
This place is good but over priced especially the coffee. This place was supposed to be budget friendly due to its location next to humber college. More expensive than Starbucks and other coffee shops in the area by at least a dollar.
literally one of my favourite places in the city, i stop by every week before class and i always leave feeling happier than when i walked in. the owner is the sweetest woman in the world, she makes my tuesday mornings even brighter!
